I was trying to remember all of ours as I read thru - hopefully I won't miss any!
We received a nice tip from (I believe) Disneedad on where to stand for the MK parade. I got us all set up on that corner, went to get tacos for lunch and DD & I proceeded to wait in the shade till parade time. Another family stood in the shade with us and asked why we were planted where we were - I explained and they stayed to watch the parade too in (as the cast member said) Prime Real Estate! So DD did me a favor and I tried to return it!
We went to MK for e-night and it was cheek to cheek people. I didn't think we would be able to watch Spectromagic (?) parade at all. DS said - follow me - he found a path on the walkway to the castle where we could lean right against the rail with a good view (a ways away - but hey!) and quick access back to finally ride Dumbo after the parade along with a couple of other quick rides in Fantasyland before they closed for the evening. No waits!
Thank you DS - you made your sisters night!
MamaT at the Swan! Going to get us chilled bottles of water in the morning on those hot days and wrapping up cookies for us to take in the car with us on the morning we checked out. What a special lady!
DS had a golf time one afternoon and we were late getting to Epcot. We checked for FP's but they ran to about 5 pm already - too late. Checked single rider line but not open yet. A gentleman and his two boys walked up and asked if we had 3 people - yup. Handed over their fast passes - evidently they had gone thru once and the boys didn't like it! What sweethearts!
On e-night when others were still trying to go on rides and being turned away, I always did my best to explain so they were aware of how to get in on the magic the next e-night!
In 2000, when we were eating an ice cream bar in the area between Toon & Tomorrowland, the family next to us got up to throw away their garbage - left their camera! We looked around but didn't see them so we took it into the nearest store to a CM.
DD & I saved Fantasia for the last eve of our trip this time - we had never gone before. DS backed out & went back to the room. DD (9 at time) wanted one of those soda bottles that held 2 kinds & had the glowing 'ice' cubes in big time. Since I had started to figure out just exactly how bad my credit card had been trashed I refused. On the way out we stopped for a quick ToT & RnR (they had an unscheduled 2nd Fantasia performance that night so those two rides were still open for the crowds from the first performance - bonus in itself!) and then walked back down to the main outlet to look at the lites on the way out. One of the CM's was pushing a garbage cart with one of the lighted bottles on it. DD saw it and commented. The CM said another little girl hadn't wanted to carry it out and neither had parents so they just asked CM to throw it. She said if we wanted it we could take it. DD did needless to say - we cleaned it out good at room and she was delighted!
A wonderful Disboard member sent me extra pressed pennies as my DD didn't decide until next to last day to collect! ACK!!!! But this wonderful dis'er sent me several pennies to add to her collection. It's still really sparse but hopefully next trip!
My DS golfed several times on one of those after 3pm budget passes - he golfed with a nice couple one day who told him what a wonderful young man he was and how proud his parents must be of him. (yes & we are!) It was such a nice thing to say to make his (& my!) day.
The lifesaver one! - Bill (hope that's right - don't have my trip diary right here!) who is a security gentleman at Epcot, noticed DD & I sitting in the shade trying to cool off. I was a couple of brilliant shades of beet red (due to an unexpected run from China to WS gate & back cause DS locked keys in car & had a tee time!) and was getting very sick from the heat. Bill went into the bar at England (?) and came back out with a huge bottle of water for me. He then took us into the pavillion where all of the countries had been displayed for the millenium celebration and stood us in front of a huge industrial fan until we cooled down. Walked us thru part of the building to show us a company display that was set up for Broadway in a couple of days. Heavensent! He was fantastic and offered to find us a good place to sit for Illuminations at night. DD & I went the one night and were going to find him but passes had demagnetized so we spent time with that and didn't get time to find him. But I do intend to next trip so I can thank him again for keeping me from being hauled away on a stretcher!
Thanks also to SwanDolphin. We had a wonderful room at the Swan at a beautiful rate and upgrade to Club. It was a great gift for my DS's graduation (valedictorian!) and had made us loyal 'Swans'. Something we never expected!!!!!!!!!!
