Well I am not sure I did "extra good" but I did survive!


I did the Charles Harris 10K this morning. I have to admit I did NOT like this race. It was "cold", damp and the route is boring. (Plus in spite of the "downhill" advertising, I found PLENTY of uphill )

At mile two I was trying to figure out how I could quit. I had to use the WISH mantra.

I did it in 1.14.44 which actually wasn't a bad time for me. I was at 36 minutes at 3 miles which was GREAT! (Maybe the cold made me run fast?) And I wasn't dead last. (I was in the last 3rd... but at least I wasn't the poor couple walking who were "escorted" by an ambulance and a motorcycle cop! I would have hated that!)

I better get in "group 3" at Peachtree for this. (At least one other woman I ran with was doing it for the exact same reason!)

Randy did the race in something like 47 minutes... So he had my water waiting! Got my T-Shirt!

Next Minnie. It probably wont' be as cold!

Lynnda finished the 5k earlier today faster than she expected. I am sure she will report more on it later but she didn't go into convulsions by being on the campus of her arch rival.

NINE!

And last year group 4 (where I was) didn't get to the start area until the "elite" runners were crossing the finish line LOL!

So as the girl running with me said. "Group 2 or 3 means 10 degrees cooler"

The route is pretty much the same. Ending has changed and you will then hike to Civic Center for t-shirts and Marta. (I posted the link earlier this week, can't find it right now. Sorry!)
