Quickie....which park to skip!

also don't automaically decide that more than 3 days it too expensive before checking your options...ticket wise, it's cheaper to do more days - you can probably find hotel deals, for us, it's more about getting there for costs....

^ This for sure! Do some number crunching and maybe you can save enough $$ for at least parkhoppers so you can spend a little time in each park?

My two parks to do would normally be MK and AK because they are my favs, but in November or December for Christmas? I would probably go with MK and EP, or DHS if you want to see the Osbourne Lights.

We stay at POLY every visit, but with construction woes, we might just do Contemporary or GF.

With that in mind we are leaning toward MK and Epcot. Basically because of transportation.

Our biggest crunch besides money is time. With an 11 yod ( straight A student) heading to middle school that time, and our 8 yod moving into graded levels, I am concerned with taking them out of school for too long.

For years we have gone Veterans day week, which is an awesome time to go crowd and weather wise, but if we go in February/January we would have more cash. I am not sure of finding a short school week those months? MLK? Anyone done that week?

If I were choosing between Nov-Jan, I would do early December, just because I love Christmastime at Disney. As for parks, definitely MK. The second would depend on your family's interests and favorite rides. DHS is nice at Christmas with the Osborne Lights, and Epcot has the Candlelight Processional, which is one of my favorite Christmas traditions, as well as the storytellers around the world.

I'm not sure about MLK week. Can you check the school calendars for this year and try to plan off there? Next year's probably won't be out yet. My sister is a teacher in north central FL, and based off the 13-14 calendar, there should be a teacher workday sometime in Jan or Feb (theirs was the Friday before MLK Day, so they had a 4-day weekend), and they also had off President's Day. Yes, those times may be busy, but if you have a good plan, you can make it work.

Having kids 13 and 10, I wouldn't worry about them missing a day or two. I would go in November- great time crowd wise and it's not at the end of a grading period. January is an assessment time and end of a grading period in NC. MLK weekend is crazy- not worth pulling your kids for.

Yeah this is good advice. We usually got Vets weekend to avoid testing and end of term stuff.
