We went to WDW from 7/9-7/16 @ BWI, USO from 7/16-7/19
and Kennedy Space Center/Cocoa beach on 19 and 20th. We are in Clearwater Beach as we speak (7/20-25).
WDW: Stayed at the BWI and got a 3rd floor room directly over the garden suites. Could see the top of the Eiffel Tower and Morraco. View of the quiet pool too. Nice room. Very long walk to lobby and there are no shortcuts. You have to go through the lobby to get to the boardwalk. Nice to be so close to Epcot and World Showcase (our favorite). Long walk to Luna Park as well. Ate at Cape May, Beaches and Cream and Boardwalk Bakery. All very good. Day 1 was settle in and swim. Day 2 was MGM and Epcot. Day 3 was Typhoon Lagoon. Day 3 was E night at MK and Epcot. Day 4 was DQ. Was 5 was Animal Kingdom. Day 6 was MGM again. My 7 year old son got the priviledge of being the last person in MK on E-night. He was asked by Disney security to call the last monorail after all day guests had cleared. He got a certificate and a picture. He got to wear a hat and talk on the radio to all MK security and called "last monrail- green. Park is clear." Is was a thrill to be asked. We did not get back to the resort till 2:30am! I got pictures of Main St. completely empty!
A really great trip! We checked out both Annual pass holders lounges. Epcot is great! AK has no AC. (BAD). Met lots of great people. On our way from Cocoa Beach to Clearwater we stopped and went to Blizzard Beach. OH BOY! There was a lighting storm!
We got stuck under one of the protected covers for about 45 minutes and there was lots of lighting. We finally ran to the bathrooms for another 90 minute wait. The CM that we were waiting with told us a few days earlier that 2 CM's got hit by lighting in the same spot where we were. The lighting had hit in that park several times. We got out of there very quickly as soon as it was safe and got here to Clearwater yesterday. We are having a really great time with no major probelms. Will give a more detailed run down soon.
