Questions on "Magic Shots"

Some of my April pictures had "butterflies", "Tinker Bell", "Simba/Pumba", and "Sullivan" and I LOVE it! It's great for my scrapbooking!

I notice in my AK pictures, eventhough I took pics at 2 different locations, photographer/? put same Simba/Pumba.

1. How/who determines which character to put in pics?
2. Can I request with any photographer if they can do magic shots? or is it only at selected areas?
3. When I go back in November, I want to try to get different characters. What is the best way of getting different ones?
4. Depending on parks, does each park have "their own" characters they put in?

Thank you

I have a piggyback question - are there PhotoPass photographers outside the 4 main parks?

We always ask all the photo people if they do magic shots. If they have a tripod they usually don't. If they are holding the camera they do. Don't know of a way to tell what magic they put in. We have always gotten doubles around the park too.

We've been using MM quite a bit on recent trips and have had photos taken in the same spots on different days of the same trip. When we do, we've told the photographer that we've had Magic Shots there before. If we can tell the photographer which character or poses we've had there before, sometimes they can do new ones. We got quite a variety of shots at Echo Lake, just across from Prime Time Cafe, this past March.

It seemed to me at Christmas that all the parks used the same characters on the same day but changed them the next day. Like PP we just asked if they did magic shots. I didn't care for the video ones they were ridiculous with dancing elves! But the ones where they place Tinker Belle etc in the photo are fabulous!

Got MM for the first time with our AP's and we really loved it. Had multiple pictures taken each time we stopped.

The only other place we saw Photopass photographers outside the park was Disney Springs.

Another question:) - Will they do magic shots for adults without kids?

Just FYI- my experience has no longer been that only photographers without tripods do magic shots. Sometimes they do them with the tripod, too (in fact, I think most of my animated magic shots have been from photographers with tripods).

I ask every photographer we stop at if they have magic shots. If you do it long enough, you start to know which characters go with which pose (I'm assuming Timon and Pumbaa you're standing with your arms out, right?)

If you ask if they have less common magic shots, sometimes they'll ask you what you've already done and be able to narrow it down to ones you haven't yet (but only certain photographers do certain poses, too).

Where in Disney Springs? We plan to go there after check-out on our last day and I would love to get some more pictures with the kiddos.

Is there anywhere that currently does Magic Shots with Stitch? We're going back in October and my granddaughter loves Stitch.

My kids did a bunch of "magic" shots at DHS with a new group of friends, but someone forgot to add the "magic"! Now we have a bunch of pictures of them all pointing at the ground and striking really odd poses with no "magic" to make it all make sense.

The last couple weeks a lot of new photopass photographers appeared and in some really interesting spots (spots i've never seen them before). They aren't outside the parks but if the park has somethign interesting after you get passed the ticket turnstyle, then yes most have them (ak no, it's not interesting until you can see the tree)

I was thinking there were photopass photographers at Disney Springs as well. Am I remembering wrong?

Was it recently? I've had luck in the past calling and asking them to add the characters into the shot. But, it was within 30 days of when they had been taken.

We had the same issue. I used the online "missing photo" form, and they fixed it. I sent the form within a few days of taking the photos.

I wish I knew that sooner! I had a great magic shot with a ghost on the side of the haunted mansion, but I didn't like the way I looked in the picture. I went back 2 days later, posed again, and got a great picture of me standing to the side looking terrified, but no ghost!
