Being new DVC owners :)

My husband & I (50 & 46 empty nesters) are wanting to visit Vero Beach on our next trip to FL. We're planning 3 nights at SSR to check it out & thought we would spend 1 or 2 nights at VB, probably Fri & Sat.

Minus any kids this trip, what advice could you give us for things to do?

Just R & R, walks on the beach, fishing?

We are thinking about Sept 15-20th and wonder if VB would be more or less crowded on the weekend vs the parks at WDW.

Any favorite eateries, we'll be celebrating his B-day & our Anniversary that week.

Thanks for any advice

:)

Thats one of the nice things about VB................you can do nothing and enjoy your stay there. You don't even have to leave the resort if you don't want to.

Whenever we are at VB and even if it is sold out, we never feel crowded there compared to the parks at WDW.

Cindy and I just love walking on the beach every day. If you are a baseball fan, the minor league team of the L.A. Dodgers play in VB. There is also a mall(Indian River) closeby that has theaters and restraunts there.

There are also a lot of restraunts with-in a 15-25 minute ride of the resort.

Here is a list of the restraunts in the VB area below.........

chrisanjohn,

VB would be great for just R&R, if thats what you were looking for...

Being that you are only there for 1 or 2 nights, I'd personally opt for just taking in the resort... Bike rides, mini golf, pool, beach walks, etc...

At the start of each week, the CM's put together an itinery of the each day's activities.. Usually, there's a fairly decent mix of adult and children's activities...

As for favorite places to eat... Usually we cook in the room and eat on the balcony.. But for an anniversery dinner try Sonya's while you are onsite at the resort... My DW and I have celebrated our anniversary there a few times.

I have never been to the Black Pearl, but others here have highly recommended it before.. http://www.blackpearlvero.com/riverfront/

The front desk is always very good about recommending local activities... They have a binder of local restraunts in the area.
