I currently have a studio rented for 2 nights at 46 points...If i choose to upgrade to a 1 bedroom the points would be 94 points. Could I rent more points from a different owner and be able to upgrade?

NO- a new reservation will have to be made for the 1BR- no such thing as an upgrade in advance. If the original member doesn't have enough points to rent for the 1BR you could rent enough for 1 night from that member and try to find another for the second night- otherwise, points would have to be transferred from one member to another to do what you want. Since you already have a reservation (and, presumably a contract for that rental) changing the reservation to a different room type may be difficult- if it's even available at all.

I agree with Doc but will expand it a little. The two choices I see to try to upgrade to a 1 BR are:
  • Ask the person you rented from if they can change the reservation using the extra points and you would then pay them for the additional rental. This is your easiest option.
  • The other option would be to have the origianl person you rented from change your reservation to one night in a 1 BR instead of two in a studio. You'd then rent the other night in a 1 BR and have them linked.
Of course you could just keep what you have or rent a 1 BR separately for the 2 nights (at added cost). It never hurts to ask at check in but I've never heard of anyone being able to upgrade then and if you were, it'd be the difference in rack rate between one and the other.
