I have not flown SWA in years so I am not familiar with the new boarding procedures (new since the last time I flew SWA).

I purchased the EBCI for my SWA flight. I just checked in and I am in Boarding Group A and Boarding Position 53.

I know that Group A is the first to board. Does that mean I will be the 53rd person in Group A to board the plane?

If so, is that a good position #?

Close, but not exactly #53. Before the A group you have the "blue sleeves" those who have a medical need for help boarding the plane. Also in the A group numbers 1-15 are reserved for business select passengers, and now may be purchased at the gate.

So you're going to be close to the 53rd person to board but not exactly.

I'm assuming you're traveling alone since you only gave one number so you should have a great selection of seats, less than half the passengers will have boarded before you. UNLESS the plane was connecting from another airport, in which case - Never mind.

They will still board those who need assistance, those with young children and their business class fliers first. Then they will begin with Group A. You are still in a good position.

Those with young children are boarded between A & B.

Thanks NJRRK and grodgers49!

Yes, I am flying alone. I'm flying for over 6 hours (one stop but no plane change) so I want to make sure I get a good seat.

I was hesitant to purchase EBCI but it looks like it's a good thing I did.

I just flew Sw last week...they actually boarded the blue sleeves BEFORE the wheelchairs (there were about 5)...the people with the blue sleeves were just standing there and the agent kinda pointed to them and (a bit assertively IMHO) said, people, you go next, lets go......after them went others...a first for us to see....
anyhoo, all I know is.......when you DON't do the seating option, be sure your Microwave TIME setting is accurate cause that Xtra 2 Minutes can get you a ...drumroll please............B34..:rotfl2: Just saying...:cheer2:
I have never made that mistake before and I never will again, and with two separate confirmation numbers, we also had a GAP in our numbers as well...
But it all worked out...sat together etc....just a bit further back than typical so its all good
PAYS to have the correct time when checking in for SW! :rotfl:

Thanks a1tinkfans! That is good to know.

I also purchased EBCI for my return flight. That way I don't have to try to find some place to check in and print out my boarding pass while I am in the parks. I can just print it when I return to the hotel :thumbsup2
