Question about getting your theme park tickets before your package starts

I am confused. People on here have told me that you can go to any theme park and get your tickets (paper) prior to your package starting. Example: FD starting 8/25 but we are checking in 8/23 so we will have two nights room only and want to visit the parks. On our package we will have 10 day tickets that covers 8/23 and 8/24. So people say that i can go to the guest relations and get the tickets. However, Disney says you can not.

Can someone tell me if they did this how long ago it was? I'm so afraid to risk it and have no tickets when we go on 8/23 and 8/24!!!!

It's one of those unadvertised things, like late Fastpass acceptance in the past. If you look on the Themeparks Board, ChesireFigment has a Ticket Sticky that explains the process.
