Question about Add Ons

So I've been thinking that I would like to do an add on. If I follow the "buy where you want to stay" adage I'm thinking about adding on at VB or OKW or both. Haven't stayed at either place yet, but then again I haven't stayed at BLT yet either.

DH did WDW and it wasn't his speed for the most part, so I'm thinking either a stay at OKW with no parks or a stay at VB would be more to his liking.

So WWYD? Buy a decent number of points at OKW or at VB for a yearly stay or buy a bit of each - enough for a stay there every other year?

If hubbie isn't a big Disney fan, look into other timeshares. No reason you can't own DVC plus another. Other systems have a larger variety of non-park destinations.

VB has very high MF's so unless you know for sure you want to stay there regularly it may be a more expensive move.

However, if going to OKW, without parks, is something your DH will enjoy, then I would add on there to start. Then you can see how easy or hard it is to trade out for VB at 7 months. If it is, then I would add on at that point.

If you want more points so you can trade out at times, then as the PP said, consider other timeshares.

Thanks! I'll see what's out there in the timeshare market, but would prefer to still have DVC points. I know DH would love VB and would probably like HHI too, and I know the kids and I would like HHI or VB as well.

I'll still kick it around for a while longer and see what pops up on the Resale market.
