Question a bout cancellation

We are heading to WDW Feb. 2 - 10. I was able to book using the code for free park hopper upgrade & water park.

BIL & SIL are scheduled to come with us. However, they may be cancelling due to financial difficulty. I booked their room (in their name) and used my credit card to pay their deposit, as a wedding present to them.

They have a really good deal on their room- 8 nights @ POP + dining + 7 day MYW tix with the free upgrades, all for $1,700.00.

My brother may be going to Disney now at the same time, and I was wondering if I could just transfer their reservation into his name. I would hate to lose out on the free upgrades.

Anyone know?

Call Disney and ask.
I think that you cannot do this, as the head of a room cannot be changed. But never having been in this position, can't say for certain.

I had 2 rooms booked with a discount code. I tried to change the names on the 2nd room (that I reserved in my name and paid for) and was unable to do so, even after speaking with Guest Services a few times. I had 2 confirmations #'s - both in my name as I said, but my SIL was the lead name on the second confirmation.

If I wanted to take her name off I would have to canc and rebook losing the code since it had already expired.

I don't know if it was because of the discount or not, but I was told anytime you want to change a lead name the resv has to be rebooked. Now, I believe others reported they were able to do it, so I agree, you should definitely call!

You can't transfer the reservation - BUT, you can try and book for your brother.
