Queen and Jasmine ... a Magical Birthday Trip

Your plans sound great! I'll be looking forward to hearing about the surprise! :goodvibes

MNSSHP really is a must do! Does Jasmine just not like dressing up or what is she unsure of about it? Dale and I loved it last year and we're so bummed we're missing it this year!

Thanks Dawn, I'll be working on the next 5 days once Jasmine leaves for work today!

I agree with you! We did it in 2004 when she was 12 and had a blast, not quite sure why she is hesitant this year:confused3 I have a feeling she may be getting it confused with a Pirate and Princess Party we went to in 2007...it was so crowded you could hardly move. My friends hubby works at Team Disney and he told us because they hadn't sold that many tickets they had opened it up to cast members and that's why it was so crazy. I'm going to ask her this morning....

Looks like a good plan so far. I really like that slushie on the 19th. :woohoo:

Your plans look great! :thumbsup2

We'll be at Epcot on the 19th too! :goodvibes

Thank you! You will notice as I update that unless it's raining we usually have lunch at our resort and then hit the pool, it really feels like a vacation when we do this!

Maybe we could try and meet for a cocktail or even just to say hi:yay:

First, your daughter is gorgeous & I love her gown!
I want to know just how crazy, crazy strict were you? I love parenting tips as much as WDW tips :flower3:

We will be at WDW the 18th-24th & we will also be at AK on the 22nd.

Lastly, I want to know, just what is this Grey Goose Slushie that you keep mentioning?

You could always come go back at Christmas or come east and re-discover your roots. I would even buy some Grey Goose for that.

:lmao:

Make you a deal, if I win the Lotto Max on Friday we'll meet you guys at Christmas!!

Thank you so much for your kind words, I will pass them along to my daugher!

How strict...my daughter would say horribly strict. No makeup, dating, no friends over or going out on school nights, school dances, until she turned 16, and even then I didn't always agree. Her friends started making fun of her and she finally sat me down and asked why I was punishing her when she had never done anything wrong. That was a huge wake up call for me....it was so hard to let go though. It is only the two of us and I worried about every decision I made, in the end not being at all fair to her.

I loosened the reigns a little and explained though that the first time she messed up, life as she knew it would be over, all restrictions would be back on. She has never disappointed me, she's not perfect, but she's never gotten into trouble either. She also holds a second degree black belt in taekwondo, so I know she can take care of herself. I do believe too though that a big part of it is her personality. She's quiet and shy and hates any attention brought to her, and frankly was always afraid of her own shadow.

Grey Goose Slushies' .... think lemonade slurpee but made with grey goose vodka....they are delectable and you can buy them at the kiosk across from Les Chefs du France in Epcot.

Maybe we'll run into each other on the 22nd:thumbsup2

We take afternoon resort breaks a lot for my mom and DH. This year I hope to be able to wear a bathing suit and swim!

I think we should try and work out something so that we can at least say hello. :thumbsup2

I would love that! You let me know which day would work best for you guys, and we'll make it work, with it just being Jasmine and I we can make anytime work for us!

lol, you were crazy strict! My parents were very strict with me too. I hated it then, but looking back now, I realize it kept me out of a lot of trouble. My husband still makes fun of me because I still had a curfew when I started dating him at age 21!!!

I'm gonna try one of those Grey Goose Slushies when I'm in Epcot!

So glad to hear I'm not the only one! :rotfl2: I lived at home until I got married at 22, and my parents were very firm about the fact that if I lived under their roof I would live by their rules.

I know...I was actually somewhat embarrassed as I wrote it :lmao: I lived at home until I was 25 and I remember the first weekend in my apartment I stayed out until 4am, just cause I could:banana:

You will love the slushie...they have a grand marnier one too, but I did prefer the Grey Goose....yes I tried both in one sitting:confused3:lmao:

Ahhh yes, the old "you live under my roof, you live under my rules" how many times I heard that speech:scared1: Now my father finds great pleasure in reminding me that he said I wouldn't quite get it until I was a mother myself and then he laughs:eek:

I am so excited that we're at the same hotel....drinks by the pool for sure..:cool1: Have you figured out all your days yet and where you're going to dine?

You absolutely need to do PTR......absolutely!!!!

I am super excited too!!:goodvibes We are just going to do the QSDDP this time. My parents are going as well, and it just seemed to make it easier! We will just pay out of pocket for any TS meals we do. I think I am going to start a ptr....within the next week or so...

I can't wait for you to start a PTR....:goodvibes

I think we're going to head down to Grand Forks for the day on Sunday! I can't wait. I was thinking of leaving Saturday and spending the night, but Jasmine works until 830 so we will just go for the day! I love buying my toiletries at Target:cloud9:

So jealous of your day trip!! We LOVE heading down there!!! Have tons of fun! Can't wait to hear about what you find!

I love your plans for the first five days! I am also disappointed that I will have already left when you arrive. I always try to build afternoon breaks into my schedule. I know it takes time away from the parks, but I need it to avoid sensory overload!

Your trip is shaping up so nicely!
