Good morning, all! I went to a backyard wedding yesterday, and it was so beautiful!! - Hot out, for sure, but we adore the couple and were so happy to be part of their celebration. They wrote their own vows, and another friend officiated. He did a great job!

Congratulations to your friends, dear PollyannaMom and beautiful pictures dear Snowysmom. Good early Monday to all. M, my roommate, was changed about 40 minutes ago. Usually, she is changed later. I'm up because M didn't seem to want R, our overnight CNA, to change her so it took a good ten minutes. I am going to try to get a little more sleep as it is too early to be up. Love to all. I will check in again later.

Good hot morning. Excessive heat warning today and tomorrow. No kidding, it was 83 already, or still, when I woke up at 6:30. For some reason I wake up at almost exactly the same time every day lately. I go back to sleep for an hour, but it's annoying. We could hit 101 today and 104 tomorrow. This is crazy weather.
I had to go across the street to the mailbox to get a pkg yesterday at 2, and it was so quiet outside. No one was out, no mowers, no kids playing in pools, barely even any traffic. The only other times I went out was to give all of the cats fresh cold water.

Summer finally got the fridge from the lady yesterday, but left it in the driveway to clean. She was waiting for after dinner when it cooled down to clean it and bring it in. Now she's giving me conflicting info. A few weeks ago, she showed up here with the Lincoln, when I asked why, she said it was because it was better on gas, and the Suburban needs back brakes. Yesterday she told me she was taking the Suburban to OC. I asked why, she said because the Lincoln needed brakes. She says 4 teenagers and herself won't fit in the Lincoln anyhow. I'm confused. They're both big SUV's and there's just as much room in it as the other. She also told me the AC in the Suburban isn't working right, it doesn't push cold air unless the vehicle is moving. That's the one I paid almost $200 to have the ac fixed in last year. I'm so glad I turned down the invitation to go. She wasn't going to tell me that another couple was going along with Gracie and her boyfriend. I would not have appreciated a 4 1/2 hour ride in this heat, with little to no ac and a car full of teens. I just don't understand her reasoning at times.

Have a good day everyone, stay cool

Yikes for the OC trip and 'love' for Goofy in the pic above so cute!

Well, it's already 91 here with 97 projected. I spent from 6:30am to 9:45am in my back yard working on clearing brush that's creeping across and pulling down my back fence. Most of the time I sat in my chair drinking my water. I put up an umbrella over the chair but I still got a farmer's tan. Pushed the lawn mower along the fence line to try to get the stragglers without touching them as I really fear poison anything - oak, ivy, sumac. And I know the oils will fly in the air also, but my other neighbor who would be helping is gone til after the 3rd week of July.

Took a shower when I came in and feel great for this moment. But there is other work calling me so no peace. Dog's bed needs changing and he always tries eating grass. That means he threw it up. I fortunately had puppy pads so it was a small amount and contained. It's still there because I needed to be outside in the cooler morning.

Dishwasher needs emptying. Sheets need washing. Dog bed needs laundering, but I have several so I may set it aside for today. Oh and I need to swiffer the floors. Somebody needs to clean the baths and I will skim it but I think this job needs to go to a professional as I age. Floor, toilet and sink easy enough but the tub and shower are too much bending and wiping for my knees and my right arm and hand.

Anyway, the tax people want their quarterly share by the end of June so I also need to send that payment. I need to up my with holdings as it's just an extra pain.

Work work work .......................

Extra care and hug to both of you dear Lynn and dear Judique.

I did get a little more sleep earlier which was a blessing for sure. I'm thankful for a new week. Dad sounded better earlier. I think he is still deciding whether to call the doctor. I hope he does.

Grace of God, I continue to grow stronger daily and develop more endurance. I am moat blessed indeed.

Have a great day dear Quacker family. Pea, Dazed, and Taz, extra love and prayer to each of you.

It is HOT!!! We are at 95 with a real feel of 106 according to the weather app. Not sure what they are calling for but I know triple digits may be tomorrow and Wednesday. Thankfully right now it looks to be mid 80's on Saturday for the BBQ. Thankfully my AC works very well, and I have a huge umbrella for the deck.

I am really not happy with my grandsons at the moment. We had the dumpster over the weekend, and NO ONE came yesterday to help. Jay picked the weekend for this to happen. The basement was supposed to be done by Memorial Day, and we are still working on a few things. I asked Mikey to help and even said I would pay him. He agreed and then called back 30 minutes later to say he decided it was too hot. Thankfully my husband called his best friend, and we offered him dinner if he could help out. I would have called him anyway as we invite him up quite often since his wife died a few years ago. We managed to get my sons room 95% cleaned out, and I can do the rest a little each week. The only downside is we had to throw out the dresser we hoped to keep. It was my husband's and a nice piece of furniture, but one of the dogs used it as a chew toy and of course no one ever bothered to mention that. It also had a broken drawer. I will be looking for new furniture now,

The plan is to finish the 2 spare rooms in the fall along with new flooring in my bedroom. I want the front done first as a neighbor keeps going across our driveway and up our steps for some reason. Usually, she has had a bit too much to drink and she's the type that would claim a serious injury and sue.

My mom is going to help me paint the woodwork if it isn't done by Wednesday. It's not much but the doors need to be done as they are all just primed. Once we are all done, I'll post pictures. The best part of cleaning out my son's old room is what I found. I knew I was missing a photo album. I found it in one of the bins. It is all the pictures of my oldest daughter's 1st year, including her baptism and pictures with her cousin. I forgot she was my thumb sucker.

Not much else going on around here. I cleaned out the fridge and cabinets for the trash pickup tomorrow, Cleaning the house shouldn't take long but I do want to give it a good going over. I'm going to get my granddaughter and daughter to help me get the basement together. Up and down 2 flights of stairs is killing my knees and back.

Hope you all stay cool

Keep cool dear friends. Good night and sweet dreams from Pooh and of course, Me! :)

Dad was doing better yesterday. He went home after our lunch early today because he was in pain. Dad said he will see how he feels in the morning. I just want him well, of course!

M, my roommate, was taken to dialysis at 11:20am this morning. She was taken sound asleep, wrapoed up again like a burrito. I learned around 5:30pm that M is back in the hospital. V, my 3pm to 11pm CNA, said M should be back in a day or two. I sure pray so. Mostly for M of course. Also for me. I do not want any other roommate!

By God's forever grace and continuing healing of me, I continue to get stronger. I am so blessed indeed.

Nighty night everyone with love.

Mona I hope your Dad feels better. Glad you are getting stronger.

Taz Sounds like alot of work going on at your house. Stay cool!

Good morning. Today is supposed to be the worst of the heat wave. It is already 75 with temps expected to go to the upper 90s. I hope to get to the gym to walk on the treadmill. I am not going outside to walk. My flights have already changed for my Disney trip in Sept. Both are earlier so I have to change my pickup time with the transport company. I don't mind getting there earlier or even leaving Disney a half hour earlier. But the changes they do make me crazy. Jeff's August trip had the flights changed and he had to spend almost 2 hours getting better flights for 6 of them.

Off to a busy day at work. Have a nice day.

Good morning. Another hot one on tap. We hit 104 yesterday and are supposed to hit 101 today. Mid 90's again tomorrow, then dropping down slightly with chance of storms Thursday and Friday. I thought maybe with the heat, the grass would slow down it's growing, but I guess with all the rain, it's stimulated it. The front and sides look fine, but I may do the back today before it gets too warm out.

I emptied out all the kitchen cabinets yesterday, threw away some stuff, reorganized the rest. Did the drawers and then cleaned the stove, fridge and sink. Tired of watching tv and sitting doing a jigsaw is irritating my back, so had to find something else to do.

Stay cool, have a nice day

Thank you dear Snowysmom. I'm so glad you do have an upcoming Disney trip. I understand how changing/updating dates and times can be taxiing. You will have a wonderful time :)

Dear Lynn, send some sun here and please stay cool and well. No working in the heat!

It was wonderful having the room to myself last night. Praying M is feeling better this morning. And that dad's back, is less sore as well. I just hope if need be he will make a doctor appointment this morning.

Happy Tuesday, friends. I will check back later.

'Only' going to be 99 here today, was projected at 100. I'll take it.

Sat outside pretty early with my coffee and 2 pieces of Pepperidge Farm cinnamon raisin bread, toasted and buttered. After my coffee I watered tomatoes and the cucumber plant. Picked a few red tomatoes and ate them. Did not water the geraniums or the pot of begonia (and a few other flowers) but have them shaded for part of the day. Yesterday I watered the cucumber 3 times and it was looking good so far.

So, on to housework. Friend called about a yard sale and asked if I want to participate. I don't but will this once as I have some boxes ready for the thrift store. Will add a bit of stuff and let my grands take care of it and enjoy any pennies collected.

I actually have a box of 40 or so paper back star wars books. Maybe someone will take them all. Or they can sell them dirt cheap either way, not worried about it as doubt there is much of a yard sale market. The kids abandoned so much stuff over the years and I am a pack rat, obviously. Anyway, my stuff will only be what can fit in my car.

Doing one load of laundry today and will dry in the sun, probably very quickly as it is white stuff. Electric bill is projected in the $400 range. I'm lucky to be able to pay such a bill for this small house, but would rather the money go elsewhere. In any case DD works from home today and I can't make her sweat, lol, or my little mean doggie who is turning 16 this October.

We went to lunch in Historic Smithville NJ where I hadn’t been in over 50 years! We’ll definitely be back sooner, probably around Christmas. We met friends, Ron and Patti. Patti and I were in elementary school together, and although for over 50 years we have exchanged Christmas cards, we only began getting together in person 3 years ago. Better late than never! It was fun!

My chiropractor cancelled afternoon appointments because his AC broke down. My DSis’s AC broke this evening…she decided to go to Toms River…the ac company couldn’t get to her until tomorrow. She was heading home tomorrow morning anyway. She lives in Toms River, her Cape May house is her vacation home.

We went for an early morning bike ride today, and hope to do it again tomorrow.

Good night all!💤
@flyingdumbo127, so happy to hear you are doing better!

I thought I had posted this earlier. It has been a crazy afternoon. Dad did go see his doctor earlier this afternoon. He finally got some sleep when he got home. The doctor said he thinks it's either sciatica or a pinched nerve. He did give dad an as needed pain prescription that dad will get tomorrow. Extra prayers for him so appreciated.

My roommate M, has only been gone one day. At 3:15pm, A was moved in here so her room could be painted :P A is quiet. She is also semi mobile despite possibly falling yesterday! Our CNA E, got her a walker from the therapy room. E said she will spend some time in here keeping an eye on A. My issue with A is through no fault of her own (dementia) she wanders and doesn't remember to flush! Yuck.

Back in March, for three mornings, my then roommate A (a very different lady than this A) and spent three mornings out of our room because it was being painted. On the afternoon of the third morning, we were told we had to move to a new room. Why? Because our current room was going to become part of a 1 to 2 week short term rehab area. That never happened!

New A was in the very room mentioned above. She was moved into my room because once AGAIN that room is to be painted and used as a short term rehab. There is another lady with dementia who was also moved possibly against her wishes for the same reason.

Supposedly new A will be moved elsewhere. I want M, my old roommate back and will be making that known in the morning. Once again and always, dear friends, steer clear of this place!

As a Walmart fyi, I do very much enjoy their Great Value Brand Chocolate Chip Mini Muffins. Great Value 4 Gallon Unscented Drawstring bags do not fit in the 4 gallon trash can here. They are way too small. Walmart did deliver excellent customer service by saying a full refund will be issued and we can keep the bags. First Street Unscented 4 Gallon bags from Smart and Final are a lot better! Now we know.

Sweet dreams dear friends always with love.
