Sea Shack is my preferred seafood place in HHI!

We’re watching Jeopardy! Glad to be resting. Good night, all!

@citruscurtis, will you be watching the baseball games? We have it on, now!
No . don't have cable and just too 112degrees hot to travel to Oregon friend watching the game ... I got George Wallace correct... didn't watch entire show.. TV pours out heat and wife was taking a nap so no one to impress

Good morning. We had sun in the morning yesterday, but rain in the afternoon. Grass is still too wet to mow. Now they're saying 100 of storms this morning and then sunny and dry the rest of the week. But right now the sun is out and the sky is blue, so who knows. It will be 81 today, staying about that until Sat when the temps go back to the 90's. Just in time to officially welcome summer I guess.

Lily had orientation for her new job yesterday. She met the 2 nurses who saved Don's life and gave me 7 more years with him. They were all in tears. So many people there remember him and talk fondly about him. They gave her a tour and even showed her his old office. I hope she likes the job, he would have been so proud of her.

Off to the market before the rain starts. It's so muggy out there, I just had to turn the ac temp down in the house.

Have a good day

Hopefully Lily will love the job!

AC in my house is on 74 degrees and has been since early May. In addition the dehumidifier is constantly on in the basement, otherwise I'd probably be living in a sauna.

I'm waiting for drier grass today by noon but either way some of it has to be cut. Old dog has gone out and peed on the deck rather then walking 3 more feet to the grass that is now too tall. He doesn't like it to touch him by his tail, I guess. I've tried scaring him along and he just squats and I have to get the hose to clean his messes.

A little later I'm heading to Costco to pick up a smaller Lifetime deck box they have reduced to $119 from $149. Was there yesterday but had to come home and measure as it has a spot near the door to store some stuff that is cluttering up my kitchen that I like to grab a lot.

Woke up at 2am, thirsty and needing to go potty. Came into the living room and saw a shadow moving outside the window and quickly realized it was a herd of deer.

Went out the back door since trying to startle them through the window didn't work.

Rattled some stuff and they just kept looking at me, like, go back to bed, old woman, we are going to eat these delicious daylilies not matter what you do! Went back in and grabbed my flashlight to shine at them and realized there were seven of them with some over behind the gazebo. I can't win! If you shine the light it picks up each pair of eyes in the dark so easy to count. Did not leave the deck as who knows what else is crawling around and since they weren't moving I wasn't sure if I might get knocked down if they ran past me. They also knocked down the bird bath and bird feeder trying to eat those tasty treats.

Mostly I was worried about my tomato plants but they were all intact this morning. They don't seem to bother that greenery. I ate a few ripe cherry tomatos and came back in. I have what looks like a bumper crop if only it would be sunny a few days. It doesn't take many plants to have enough for a couple of people. They will produce right up into November here once they get going if fed and watered.

Extra hug dear Lynn and I am proud of and happy for Lilly. She will do great.

Be careful dear Judique. Creepy crawlies can also stay far from me!

Good early morning dear friends. I am usually up around this time because my roommate M gets changed ususally between 5am and 5:30am. Thankfully I did enjoy a good night sleep and pray she did, too. I will check back later. Have a great day, friends.

It was sunny and beautiful when I left here and got to Aldi's and Walmart. When I came out of Walmart, the sky was full of black clouds. I went into Martins and when I came out it was raining. Alternating pouring rain and then just light showers all the way home. Pulled into the driveway and it almost stopped raining. No mowing for me today, and unless it dries out tomorrow morning so I get it done before afternoon, they're predicting strong storms after 2.

Good morning cloudy here and muggy. Expecting rain later today and reports of really bad weather tomorrow. My poor granddaughter has been down the shore all week with a couple of friends. If I can figure out how to get the photos she sent me of some sand sculptures from my phone to my computer I will share them.

The final dumpster will be here today to get the rest of the construction trash and some other things cleared out. Sadly one bin has albums that are very moldy. I did manage to find some that were salvageable, including Bobby Sherman. They are old but surprisingly not in bad shape. Then we checked another bin and it was full of albums and records from the 40's. All of them are in mint condition. Not sure what I'm doing with them just yet. There was even a reel to reel tape of Johnny Cash from Folsom Prison. We think they belonged to my MIL. I would have preferred pictures but what can I do. Jim is OK with me trying to sell them.

Dad is in rehab but mom isn't sure how well he is doing. Dad starts to get really "weird" for lack of a better word in hospital settings. If you ask him where he is he will tell you the bus stop, on a plane headed to Pittsburgh, give specific addresses and just gets really confused. Of course then the facilities want him in long term care because they don't understand once he is home he is very lucid. He just gets lost without my mom. I'll try and get in to see him tomorrow as I have no time today.

Hope you all have a nice day.

Loving hug and prayers dear Taz. Despite dementia, I believe my beloved late grandma in some way knew she was in a nursing home. God also gifted me His amazing grace of reminding me that grandma even during her last days knew who I was.

Dad and I had gone to visit her one evening. At that time I was preschool teacher to 8 brand-new 2 year-olds. Today, those precious kiddos are 22! I remember telling grandma about, "my kids," and then showing her some pictures. God enabled grandma to sit up a bit and directly look at those pictures. Her expression said what her voice may not have been able to. She was proud and thankful that I was doing so well. Dear Taz, no matter the circumstance, your dad knows you and loves you. God, of course, forever does and He has all of you, my friend.

Dear Lynn, yikes to the downpour. Please stay dry and cozy inside!

I am hoping dad will make a doctor appointment this morning. He is still hurting :(Thank you all for your extra prayers for him. I am so blessed to be a Quacker. Love to all.

OK I just had to post that while I haven't even gotten to the swim club yet, and I think it is still June, I stopped in Michaels for some supplies to hang my pictures. I was stopped in my tracks by HALLOWEEN merchandise already on display. Next thing I know thanksgiving and Christmas will be out. It is too soon for me, and I like Halloween.

Sun stayed out all afternoon, and there's a nice breeze. I got the whole lawn done, had to raise the blades because it was so high, so it will probably need to be done on Sun or Mon, but it looks better and I feel better with it done. I hate the lawn looking shaggy.

Sun has been nicely out here, too. Dad picked up his prescription on his way home. Depending on what it does for him tonight, he will call his doctor tomorrow. I wish he would skip the prescription (at least until he has seen his doctor) and make an appointment. On Friday, he will have been in back pain for two weeks Thank you for your extra prayers for him. I really appreciate it. Have a good evening, friends.

Good morning. I'm having power issues. Last night the power went out around 9. 5 min later it still wasn't back, and I was about to call the outage line when it popped back on. I woke up at 6 this morning and then went back to sleep, and when I woke up the clocks were flashing again. Everything had gone off between 6 and 7. I reset everything again. I called the power co to find out what was going on. 20 min later they called me back. She said last night it was a damaged line and 690 customers were affected. I asked how a damaged line got repaired within 5 min. She said sometimes the lines fix themselves. She told me this morning it was a transformer. While I'm talking to her, the power goes out again and I lost it. I said this is damaging electronics, what is going on. She said the system takes a few min to update so she couldn't tell me, but put in a ticket. Said it should be fixed by noon. It had better not keep going on and off until noon. I've had to reset everything 3x already. The tvs wouldn't reset after the last time, kept saying they weren't connected to the internet, but they were. I had to call the ISP and have them reboot my whole system. The girl at the elec co said that if a power outage ever damages something, I can put in a claim for damages and that they're pretty good about paying them. 25 years here, numerous elec problems and no one has ever told me that before.

So for now, everything is working again, I hope it stays that way. It's sunny and going to be 84 today. Slight chance of a storm this afternoon, which probably means we'll get hammered. When they say we're going to get big storms, we usually get nothing. When they say slight chance, that's when we get it.

Tiger showed up at dinnertime last night, but was missing again this morning. I don't get it.

Have a good day everyone.

I sure pray your power stays on, dear Lynn, what an experience ( Please get in some extra fun (even a TV show or movie) and relaxation today.

Good morning, friends and Happy Thursday :) It's cool right now. It is supposed to warm up but not be quite as hot as it has been. It has been an extra blessing not being cold in my room. The hallways here can be very cold especially right outside my door. It can be two different temperatures indeed!

I will update on my dad later. Thank you all again and always for praying extra for him. Hugs to all.
