Judique Glad you were able to take care of the ice. Careful on ladders please.

Thinking of Mona. Have a card ready to send.

Tazdev Hope your Dad is glad to be home and comfortable.

Good morning. It is 27 here right now and snowing lightly. We got about an inch of snow overnight and it should be ending soon. Temps are supposed to go up to 42 with the sun coming out today so a heat wave. Not much going on here. Yesterday was a frustrating day at work and at the grocery store. At work people just kept asking me questions while I was trying to get my work done. And at the grocery store people were just in the way all the time leaving their carriages in the middle of the aisle or right in front of my carriage and cutting me off. Usually Hannafords is uneventful. The parking lot was crazy too. I was glad to be out of there.

Have a good day.
I probably should have clarified step ladder. The deck is adjacent to the window. The window base is higher than the deck by a couple of feet, so to be able to push the ice cap with my snow shovel, I needed to climb a couple of steps. It's an 8 ft step ladder and I keep it close by as I'm always using it for something. I wasn't in any danger as DD came out with me to make sure I was steady.

No person except me is walking near that window where the ice fell. It is inside my fenced back yard. I did walk in the danger zone a few times picking up dog doodo a couple of times. Once I saw it I was mostly afraid my little Yorkie would get crushed. He likes to run under the window. Once the ice was gone, I made another temporary fence so he can't do that anymore.

Temporary fences are wrought iron sections from when I had Yorkie using a much larger section of the yard, but didn't want him all the way in the back. I keep moving the sections to suit my needs for the dog mostly.

I have a smaller house but a large outdoor living space. I'm pretty much an outdoor person most of the year except for below freezing temps.

Good morning. The sun is shining and the temps will reach near 50, but the winds are awful. Gusts of 50 and higher till noon. I almost got blown over trying to get out the back door. Had to hang onto it as the wind tried to pull it out of my hand. I had to put the cats food dishes in a sheltered area or they would blow away. People's trash is blowing all over the place, even though the trash was picked up 2 hours ago.
SIL went to the collision center Monday, they told her they'd mail her an estimate? Never heard of such a thing. She says she's paying for it herself, and not involving insurance. So why she caused all that fuss, and a total war between herself and Summer is beyond me. Summer paid $32 for the tail light assembly for Lily's car and her husband put it on for her.
@bobbiwoz good luck to you and Tom at your appointments.

Heading for the market and errands. Have a good day everyone.

Good to hear common sense prevailed!

Well it's 60 degrees here and sunny, and not windy. Our wind was supposed to be 15- 25 mph but so far nada. Hopefully it doesn't surprise us in the middle of the night as we have the old streets and power lines that come down with big trees.

I was out trimming twigs and such and got too hot in my jacket. Came back in as I know better than to get comfortable outside and then have a head cold in a day or two.

Good Afternoon!

Haven't been on much lately. I started my new job at the hospital, been in training for the past 2 weeks. Training is 3 months since I have to float to different floors each day, I have to train on each floor. I'm pretty sure after my 6 month probation is over, I'm going to try to find something on a particular unit. I don't think I'm going to enjoy moving around every shift. No way to make a connection with co-workers.

That's about it, just letting you all know why I've been missing. Have a great day!

Here, too! I even issued a weather advisory to a few of our jobsites that were in the 'Gail Force Winds" possible area. It's dang nice outside - my dogs even refused to come in, and stayed on the porch sunning themselves.

I think it came here instead. Out of nowhere a few minutes ago, it started raining and really blowing. Seems to have slowed down now, but still drizzling.

(Pardon the make-shift quotes - the real function isn't working correctly.)

It got to 55 here today, but we did have the gale force winds, and they're still going on, despite them saying they would end at noontime.
I came home from the market and sat down at the computer and found out that it was off, as were the humidifiers, so we had to have lost power somewhere along the line. The weird thing is none of the clocks, the microwave, or the stove were flashing, the bathroom heater was still going, and I didn't have to reset the tv's.

Walmart was very quiet for a change, but prices are up again. Stopped at CVS and waited 15 minutes to give them the new RX group number on my id card. Humana finally got their act together and took me off self pay because the MD Senior Assistance program is paying my premium this year. So they sent a new ID card with a new group #. I had called CVS to give it to them, and they insisted they couldn't take it over the phone. So I wait in line, only to be told that they could have taken it over the phone. I wasn't happy and gave them the name of the girl who had told me that. They made her come to the counter to apologize and they told her not to give customers incorrect information.

Summer is now doing Walmart and Door Dash deliveries along with Medicaid and foreclosure inspections. She's wearing herself, and her vehicle down. But with him out of work for at least a month, it's the only way she can make fast money. I hope she puts it towards the bills and not spend it recklessly!

I'm hibernating the rest of the night. Binge watching The Traitors on Peacock.

Just got a text from Mona

It says--
"Thank you all, still in hospital, Prayers going forward, I may be moving tomorrow, not sure. Not ideal situation but we know God has this."

I asked if she was going home

She said "Skilled nursing. I would love to go home, but that would require almost 24/7 care. I am barely walking weak. We don't have money for our own care."

All I could do was send her our prayers and love and ask her to keep in touch with me when she's able.

Say a prayer for the victims of AA flight from Kansas and a Helicopter from Fort Belvoir with 3 soldiers aboard. They collided and landed in the Potomac minutes from landing at Reagan last night.

Chills went through me.

Will do, how sad.

Today Tom got wonderful news. The two areas of “concern” are OK. His oncologist did read the results and emailed the news to her office before she went on vacation. Just yesterday the office told him he would have to wait until she came back February 10.

Tom never had cancer, but he did have a lung lobe removed because there was a carcinoid tumor attached. So, he has been checked every 3-6 months. However, in December his oncologist left and the new one was asking for new tests. The 2 MRI’s he had yesterday cleared up the situation.

My news, the operation was rescheduled. I had received a call yesterday, but without the new date. Well, it will be this coming Tuesday. No waiting until February 10. I got the OK from my cardiologist yesterday, and just went to do pre admission bloodwork. Tomorrow I have telemedicine call to learn more about what I need to do.

My sister, Nancy, can spend Monday night with Gus, so he doesn’t have to go to the kennel. She will be with him so Tom can visit. Hospital time can be 1-3 weeks. Needless to say we are all grateful for Tom’s news, and for my sister’s care.

Nancy and our son and his family are going to Japan in March. So, this earlier operation date is good on that score as well.

I am so grateful to know that you all here are praying and sending caring thoughts my way. Thank you!

Bobbiwoz Good thoughts and prayers for your surgery on Tuesday.

Footballmouse I hope you enjoy your new job. I does sound like being in just one dept would be ideal.

Good morning. It is 29 now with temps heading into the low 40s. We are getting rain later and then a bit of snow overnight, less than an inch at this point. I was in the office yesterday. I saw a few people I haven't seen in a while so it was nice. I chat more than I work! LOL! I did manage to get all my work done. I plan on not going in next week as long as my boss is able to. I have to drive to the area at least twice next week for a doctor appt and hair appt so one less trip is a big deal.

Have a good day.

41 degrees going to 54 degrees today. There are claims of rain and the ground is damp but it's no big deal.

Friday is here! I say that like every day isn't a Friday for me.

Hope all are doing well, including you, Mona, if you get a chance to read. @bobbiwoz good luck with your procedure.

Was up at 5am to get the trash and recycle cans to the curb. I didn't forget them last evening, I just prefer not to put them out until morning. It only takes a couple of minutes and I quickly scoop litter as well. Have to do that every day.

Dog is not feeling great. He took forever to eat his food yesterday. He gets like this every so often and usually snaps back in a day or so. He's eating mostly dry food and ignoring the canned stuff. I've tried him on fresh and he didn't want it at all, using several brands.

If I have chicken or other meat he will eat it up quickly. I may end up cooking for him. It's not that difficult to create a decent home cooked meal for them but I know if I start doing it every day and then I go out of town for two weeks, DD won't want to do it. Anyway not going to happen before this trip coming in February.

Starting to search for new front door options, or maybe I'll spruce up the one I have. Don't know yet. Won't do it until we have nicer weather in April and May. It's not for energy issues but for a new 'look'. We will see.

Have to go to the dentist for my replacement crown next week. The temporary fell off and I am supposed to go in to have it replaced while I wait for the permanent one. I'm not going, as I just don't want that extra visit, but now I have to be super careful what I eat and chew.

Good morning! It is raining hard in Cape May. My sister is coming to have a massage, to walk Gus and to talk about how she could help Tom and me while I am recovering. At nine this morning I have a Tele medicine conference with the nurse in charge.

I had a broken tooth, and I had called the dentist office on Monday to review what time my appointment was on February 5. Well luckily for me, he saw me on Monday and fixed it, because I will be in the hospital on Wednesday!

@Judique, we augment Gus’s dry food with mostly cooked chicken and cooked carrots. When he’s in the kennel, we supply large cans of chicken.

I do chicken, wild rice, sweet potato, green beans when I get energetic about it. I have a tiny rice cooker that works and a sweet potato microwaves easily.

Good morning. Raining lightly, 40 now going to 55.

This is the kind of day that makes me want to stay in bed, or on the couch watching tv, lol

@bobbiwoz Glad to hear Tom's doctor visit went well. Best of luck to you on your upcoming surgery.

Have a good day everyone

Good day everyone. Hope you guys are having a good day. No great or exciting plans for me this weekend. Probably will stack some firewood, might make a trek up to Target to get the soda stream tanks exchanged - we only go thru3 or 4 per year making club soda, and I think they are about done. Small chance might head up to Costco. I don't know, we will see how the wind blows us

Today Tom got wonderful news
That's wonderful to read, must make you & him feel much better!

My news, the operation was rescheduled.
Next Tuesday will be here and past before you know it and I hope you have a quick and healthy recovery.

This is the kind of day that makes me want to stay in bed, or on the couch watching tv, lol
Boy is it. My husband has been walking around the office all day yawning saying he's tired. I'm guessing the weather has got him feeling the same way.

I think we are getting take out for dinner. I have a nail appt. at 5, and need to pick up a Walmart order as a experiment (for the record I detest Walmart BUT we are trying a new business program they have so I want to see how it works out so I placed a small order. All other orders we've tried to place have been canceled, so we will see) so I'm thinking maybe sushi or chinese or indian or something along those lines. Something different for once. Dare I say we might stay up later than 9:30 & watch a movie????

An 18 wheeler decided to take out the power lines at the end of the street and put me in cold and silence. For two hours.

Checking my phone because I'm usually the reporter as many people are at work, we've had 5 power interruptions in 7 months, but only one was lengthy. When I report I get a text confirmation almost immediately so it was easy to see looking backwards from today's text. Still, I'm tired of it. Last one was first week of January.
