I just got a long text from Mona.

She'll post on the thread when she's able. She was transferred to a rehab center the hospital found. Due to her age and limited insurance, there was no other choice. She said it's awful and they never would have agreed if they had seen it ahead of time. Depressing feel, yelling and otherwise loud people. She's grateful to have a bed, but really wants to get strong enough to go home. She needs to get back on her feet a little first she said. That she can't stand up yet or walk around. It was her dad's birthday yesterday and they were get to celebrate together.

She asked me to send her love and appreciation to her Quacker Family and said she misses us.

She's at the Los Feliz Healthcare and Wellness center, and that pictures of it look much nicer than it actually is. Depressing feel, yelling and otherwise loud people. She's grateful to have a bed, but really wants to get strong enough to go home. She needs to get back on her feet a little first she said. That she can't stand up yet or walk around. It was her dad's birthday yesterday and they were get to celebrate together.

She asked me to send her love and appreciation to her Quacker Family and said she misses us.

I think autocorrect zapped you a little bit, though. - Does "they were get to celebrate together" mean they got to or didn't get to?

I went on the Rehab center's website and can't find any info about patient WiFi access. But it does at least seem to be less than a half-hour from her Dad's house.

Yeah, I called AAA and had them change my oil change appointment to today. It was a great decision as they got me done and out in a short time, quicker than Jiffy Lube!

Lucky you, we are expecting sleet/ice/freezing rain and then plain old cold, breezy, miserable rain overnight into tomorrow morning. Yuck BUT we may get a few inches of snow on Saturday, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for that!

We're supposed to get a yucky mix tomorrow here. I'm not looking forward to it, as I'm supposed to watch the twins, so I'll be driving in the afternoon and evening. (I highly doubt it will be enough to cancel school, but it will likely be enough to be annoying.)

We are right on the line weather-wise as well, not sure if it's going to get cold enough. That's okay, as much as I 'complain' about not getting any snow I'll gladly forgo any of this ice mess.

Lynn Thank you for keeping in touch with Mona. I am sorry the facility she is at is not the best. It is hard to find a good one even if you do have good insurance or resources. I hope she recovers soon and can go back home.

Good morning. It is 14 here now and we are expecting snow and ice today, 2-4 inches of snow and then a glaze of ice. The temps will be rising over the day. Schools are closed all over the place. My grandkids all have the day off today. Then we are getting another snow storm Sat night into Sunday. That one will be much bigger with 7-9 inches of snow. We started out the season with not much in the way of snow but are making up for it now. At least I can make my doctor appt tomorrow AM and my hair appt on Sat and see Jeff and family too. Grateful for that. Kenny's divorce court date was postponed again! The arbitrator had issues in his office so he needs more time to review everything. Kenny is pushing for getting another date this month. He just wants it done!

Off to work. Have a good day. Everyone in the path of bad weather stay warm and safe.

We have a rainy day.

Our son’s Louisiana in-laws sent us a delicious King Cake! They do every year and we share it with neighbors. Nancy is here and we’ll send some home with her too! It’s a delicious tradition! Ash Wednesday is very late this year, we’re just fine that it came early!

I'll take sunny 76 degree weather and a beach day over whatever it's doing back home.

@Snowysmom, sorry about your snow and more coming. That's awful about Kenny's divorce being postponed yet again. The arbitrator should have reviewed everything long before now, it's just ridiculous. Hope he can get another date on the books for this month.

I know Mona has seen our thread, so I hope she's able to post something herself soon.

Please pray I God willing get out of this horrible facility where I am now and into the hospital's acute care area which sounds perfect for me with specialized PT. This place unhealthy all around Dad I feel horrible for has taken on even more and this very much to heart. We did get the ball rolling and will know more we pray tomorrow. Red tape now. I will try to update in some way over the weekend. I miss you all. I thank you all always. I am so blessed God made me a Quacker. Have a good night friends.

Your friends here gave me an update so I knew how to pray.
I know what it's like to be in a medical facility that is not up to par.
I'm so glad you're able to communicate with your friends.

@flyingdumbo127 Prayers said that you can get into the acute care area and out of the place you are now. It sounds like the best place for you to get the care and PT you need. Wishing the best for you. Your Dad is there for you. When you are better and home you can help him more.

Good morning. It is 34 now which is probably the highest it will be today. We only got 1-2 inches of snow but it was wet heavy snow. They did not come to clear us out until evening. My neighbor and I were wondering if they were going to since the snow total was not alot. We were going back and forth on whether we should shovel. She said she was going to do my driveway as well as hers. I would not let her do that but we could help each other. I emailed the trustees and they said we would be cleared out. The next storm over the weekend will be much bigger so no doubt they will clear us out. Today is my doctor appt and I am meditating and trying to keep my anxiety at a low level. See how it goes! Then the rest of the day is for me to do what I want to do.
