Thanks to all who welcomed me back!
Wildflowers were in bloom in Shenandoah and we saw lots of butterflies. Was especially happy to see many goldfinches as well as three hummingbirds!
Our family is very athletic, so we expected to see them at dinners, once in the lodge, and then at their campsite. However, it rained Thursday PM, so we were lucky. They had done a good hike in the morning, so, we offered our room to shower in, and they met us for two ranger talks. If there’s any doubt about a bear’s tenacity to get food, look at the Igloo.

We listened to a talk about American Chestnuts and the blight that has practically made them extinct.
We played lots of Rummy and ended the time with dinner of Rice and Beans and S’mores at their campsite.
