Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Good morning. All humidity disappeared overnight and it's only going to be 80. I was so tired last night I couldn't fall asleep. I think it was after 2, and I slept till 8:15. That's like noon for me, lol. Glad that there is no painting today, and all yard work is done.
Off to get grocery shopping and errands done, then I can move some of the master bedroom stuff into the guest room and have that cleared for tomorrow

@PollyannaMom -so glad that all went well for Caramel

Have a great morning all

Good morning dear 🐥family,

I'm an early 🐦this Wednesday. I've been awake, reading, resting, and most of all I pray quietly giving thanks to God, for a while already. Dad got up a little while ago. I do feel best early in the morning. I have been up for quite a while.

:hug:Snowysom and new 🏠Continuing 🙏God is and will always Guide you, my friend. Grandkid⚾:cheer2:Always, YOU cheer! Thank you also for your kind words as always. What a blessing it was to give dad new bed money. I also simply pray to never again take for granted being able to go anywhere! Have a good day, please and always know we all care.

:dogdance:🙏for Caramel, dear Footballmouse:hug:. I'm very thankful her surgery is over, praise extra to God and of course that you are feeling better, you know that! :)

:hug:Bobbiwoz, wishing you a peaceful day of joy, always, too. Please stay cool and take care. Humidity is the worst!

Cute::MickeyMomorning picture dear, Lynn:hug:Thank you :) I truly hope you at last get some rest tonight, you must!

Wednesday morning :grouphug:💕🌺to all. I will check back in later :)

Good morning to you all. I hope this Wednesday is treating you well. I try to keep up but I know I miss some stuff sometimes, so sorry if I do!
Dave should have told me to hire Daryl in the first place, lol
I need to hire Dave to come paint my house! I'd like to get some places painted...well ok, the whole downstairs:flower1: ha ha! My husband actually is a very good painter, and likes to paint- but he's so busy I hate to ask sometimes, especially this time of year, but things could definitely use a face lift around here. Maybe I'll just start by going to Sherwin Williams and putting paint samples on the wall!!!
Him and his girlfriend had a bad last month so I got them a couple of cases of diapers
That was nice of you!
Do you ever have one of those days when the same clutter you didn't even notice yesterday is driving you crazy today?
Oh man - yes! I'm itching, just ITCHING to declutter around here. We had to go somewhere Sunday afternoon and I got to clearing out the fridge and didn't want to stop. I was tossing stuff out left and right. I can't wait to get to the rest of the kitchen, and the rest of the house. Some people like spring cleaning, I like fall throwing away! I'm looking forward to Labor Day weekend cause it looks like husband may be up in Lynn's neck of the woods for a few days so it will just be me and I intend to do a proper decluttering, and partial deep clean, around here. Actually looking forward to clearing out the laundry room...damn I need a life.
Much better, thanks for asking. Just a small cough that I noticed happens when I drink something cold so not that big of an issue.
Glad to read you are feeling better.
On my list was lactaid free milk because youngest is lactose intolerant.
We switched to Fairlife milk about a year ago or so. I have a intolerance, but I'm not intolerant - if that makes sense, and so we thought to try it. We found it just lasts longer, and given that we were tossing a 1/2 gallon of milk for going off before we drank it we were glad to find a alternative. My husband also likes the chocolate milk although that isn't something I regularly pick up.
We will drive to the Bay and bring some snacks. Maybe we will go to Point Lookout and they can get wet at the beach area.
Have a good trip.
I've been on the go go go.
I hear ya. As I mentioned up thread, I can't wait for Labor Day weekend to do nothing but be home and putz and do some long needed clearing out. We are off to NV next Monday, and the day after Labor Day I'm off to NC so I'm looking forward to the break.
We now have another furry member of the family.
Congrats! He looks cute!
DH's appointment was excellent - no waiting at all, and his doc already called him back with good test results and an answer to another question he had. :goodvibes
Good to hear. I'm glad for you both.
It is also my cousin's birthday, so we went to Shady Maple for breakfast, Kitchen Kettle and then Lapp Valley Farms for ice cream. The only downside is my mom couldn't go with us as planned as she took my dad to the ER last night.
We are thinking of making a trek up to Lancaster & Gettysburg for a weekend in October (I know - I should have made hotel reservations long before now!) I must admit, the one time we walked into Shady Maple we stood in line for about a minute and walked out - not for us! But it is certainty very popular and has some very loyal customers. I was actually getting my hair cut the other day and one of the two owners of the place I go to was saying how they are going up this weekend and staying at Fulton's (best key lime martini I've ever had I had there). That's when I realized how many trips up that way we used to make, but hadn't done so as frequently recently and decided we needed to go up to the area and make a whole weekend of it.
I hope your Dad was able to get some relief for his knee pain. That type of pain can be so debilitating.
PLUS I ordered tickets to go see the Disney 100 exhibit at the Franklin Institute for Friday, Crystal and I are going.
I was going to try to get up to see that, but I was never able to carve out the time, and I won't before it is over. We were just talking the other day about coming up for the Christmas Market this year - so we'll see.
I also by the Grace if God was finally able to go inside a bank.
Good for you! Glad to read you are getting out more & more! Everyday we are pulling away? Not sure that is the right turn of phrase...learning to live with? maybe that is better. What I mean is everyday we are moving past the worst of it and back to a new normal. Well- you know what I mean! Progress is good! We've been trying to get my MIL to get out and about more but it's been a uphill fight, she neglected to follow up properly with her prescribed PT after knee surgery and now has herself in a pickle that she has decided will be the hill she martyrs herself on. I'm learning that the adage 'you can't help those that won't help themselves' is quite true unfortunately. I think we are going to have some fights on our hands as they transition to a phase in life where they need additional help and/or to move to a more appropriate place to live.

So I'm in the office all day today and tomorrow with no long drives until Friday, which will see me join the traffic throngs as I have to traverse the same roads as those that are head down the shore. At least coming home I'll be headed the opposite direction! No specific plans this weekend, except mowing of course! And a quick trip to the grocery store for my niece, who is dog sitting for us while we are in NV next week. Going to Lake Tahoe which is a first for us, so looking forward to a change of scenery and even better, the weather looks spectacular! Highs in the mid 70's and sunny, lows in the high 40's. I can't wait! We've got meetings on Wednesday & Thursday, and are flying home on Friday, but in-between it all we plan to doing some sight seeing and road tripping around the area. Flying into Reno and staying in a town called Stateside, which appears to be at the bottom of the lake. Trying to decide if going up to Virginia City is worth it, sometimes those type of places aren't (Tombstone I'm looking at you!!) but on the other hand - why not?!? so we will see where our free time takes us. We have Monday afternoon, all day Tuesday , early Wednesday till noon and Thursday evening free. We have a dinner meeting planned Wednesday evening and meetings a fair bit of the day Wednesday and Thursday. I suspect husband may skip out on one or two of them, but no such luck for me:sad2:. Unfortunately there are no non-stops on the way to Reno, so we are flying thru Phoenix coming and going. I'm going to force myself to do carryon only. I know, I know. It's totally doable, it's only 4 nights. I'm just a overpacker who is trying to reform so I'm using this trip as a test.
Well, I've gotten zero work done here today, I should get started. Have a good morning everyone.

Still have not seen a hummingbird at my feeder. Are they plentiful anywhere this year?

We've had quite a few here - we are across the Bay from you I think. Anyway, as I understand it they will soon be on their way migrating, although I think the ruby throated ones stick around a bit longer. We have 4 feeders hanging up on different areas of our porch and we've defiantly noticed they favor two over the other two. I guess I'll be taking my feeders down over the holiday weekend. They already get pissy when they are empty and remind me to refill them, I imagine I'll really tick them off when I remove them altogether - but they've got to move on down south.

:thanks:dear Easyas. I agree. I pray to appreciate being able to get out a lirtle again and also that I sincerely am most happy being at home. As always, my friend, you are who matters. Knowing you are happy and well not how often you may post!

Meant to share in my initial post that I read a sweet children's book yesterday from the library called, "You're All My Favorites." It's written by Sam McBratney and illustrated with lovely drawings by Anita Jeram. Very young kiddos would enjoy it :)

I haven't been to Gettysburg for years. Maybe next summer I'll day trip out there with my husband or the grandkids.

My friend hates Shady Maple and always has a rude comment when I mention it. I love the breakfast, nit the lunch and dinner. My Ella has a whole routine we follow when we go, usually a stop at the outlets for the Disney Store, but we skipped that yesterday. We are hoping to head out again before my Disney trip in October.

Thank you, Seeing my dad yesterday and how he can barely walk, I hope they can do something without a knee replacement. At 87 he doesn't need to go through that. Plus we all think the hip replacement my Gram had caused her stroke which eventually ended her life.

If you come up for the Christmas Village let me know. I keep saying every year I want to head down to see it and never do. A DIS meet would be a great reason to make the trip.

Not much going on here today, Binging in Bones. I love crime mysteries but hate how the police always make the evidence fit who they decide is guilty. My daughter told me about this show and it has become a favorite. I don't know how I missed it when it actually aired. I love how they let the evidence lead them to the perpetrator. I told my youngest she should get into that. I think it fits her so much better than nursing. The autopsy/gross body scenes don't really bother me that much. My brothers were always dissecting something when we were kids and my daughter liked to dig up her dead pets on a daily basis to judge the rate of decomposition. I am the odd one in the family. I like the arts so much more but do enjoy a good crime show.

Have a Draft League Baseball game tonight. Starting tomorrow it will be the Little League World Series. The mid-Atlantic team isn't far from me so of course we will be rooting for them to win.

Hope ypu all have a great day

Will do. We last went several years ago...maybe 2019? After walking around Vienna late last November and seeing how they were setting up for the Christmas Markets there made me want to go again...not QUITE the same but a decent substitute!

Still have not seen a hummingbird at my feeder. Are they plentiful anywhere this year?
We've had them almost every morning here (southeastern Massachusetts) lately, but they're wicked camera shy this year! - I haven't gotten any good pics because they dart away as soon as I try to aim the camera....Maybe my case is too bright or something?

Some people like spring cleaning, I like fall throwing away!
This!!! I never have the urge to clean in the spring. I just leave the dust and go outside. :rotfl:
But in the fall, when I'm about to be stuck in the house all winter, that's when I need it clean!

Packing and preparing food for a short trip with the kids and grandkids. Leaving tomorrow, we are staying at a rental house. I like the extra space versus a hotel, but you have to bring so much stuff! I am in charge of breakfasts, I am making quiche, breakfast burrito, French toast, cheesy potatoes, fruit etc.

Storms passed through early this mornin, I must have slept through it. My sleeping patterns are really messed up lately. I am up til midnight or later and then up by 6:30 or earlier. I have been very tired which makes getting anything done harder.

While I am looking forward to being with family, it is so bittersweet without Kris…..he should be here.😢

Good sunny morning. Going to be 90 today, mid 70's tomorrow, then heating back up again. Daryl got here at 9 and he showed up at 8. Well underway in the bedroom. Should be all done today. I just had enough time to take the pics off the wall, take off the elec and switch plates and vacuum.

@dazedx3 --enjoy your trip. Remember Kris, but make some new memories! :grouphug:
I'll be back later.

Have a nice morning

:grouphug:❤️Dazed! Amen to what Lynn said! Please do enjoy your trip. New memories of joy I sure pray to come.

Dad and I will be headed out soon to a few places including JC Penney where we hope to finally use our almost $18 gift card. We would rather be done with JC Penney unless they ever truly had something we wanted! Dollar Tree first will be fun as always, too :)

Have a wonderful Thursday everyone. God willing, I will come back later and share about your trip :)

Did you have an issue with them, if you don't mind me asking? I just ordered DS some polo shirts from there, and they came fairly quickly and fit him well, so I figured I would order from there again. Did I just luck out?

I got a quick errand and a minor decluttering project done today, but I'm still feeling kind of "blah" due to the weather - grey, dreary skies for the second day in a row. We're planning to order pizza and watch a movie, though, so I'm looking forward to that.

@dazedx3, sleep definitely affects everything! I hope you get some good rest on the trip and are able to enjoy the grandkids.

:cheer2: :cheer2::cheer2:

The painting is DONE, 100% done, finally. Only 3 months after it got started. I just finished putting the master bedroom back together. What a relief to finally have it done.
Thanks to all of you for putting up with my venting over and over again about it!

Off to fix dinner and collapse. I am exhausted!

Have a nice evening.

:hug:dear PollyannaMom and my sincere apologies for not being clearer. Dad and I had gotten through free credit card rewards a JC Penney Gift Card. The card was not an actual JC Penney gift card as in it was for multiple stores. I attached a picture of it. Because of that, JC Penney.com wouldn't allow us to also use a credit card to cover any additional cost to an order. This is why it had to be used online. Plus, our last trips to the store, honestly, like Kohl's the clothing quality to us wasn't the same as pre pandemic. Very grateful your son is happy with their shirts, you know that! I also did have a great experience this morning thanks to added Grace of God. I got some Cuddl Duds Clog Slippers that are much softer than the bootie slippers I've been wearing in the apartment. After our almost $18 discount+20% off coupon, we only paid $7 or so for them:cheer2:Dad and I agreed that should their ever be anything JC Penney had that we really wanted we would go back. Pre pandemic, they often had at open giveaways where the first 100 or so customers in line got a completely free mystery voucher that was at least always worth $10--why it was worth it for us to wait! That's when their opening at 10am was fine because we didn't have to rush there. Today, that's something better about Kohl's that they open at 9. As I have shared, I feel best early in the morning. Plus, it's easier for both of us to get any shopping together done as early as we can. We were very thankful to have gone today. I will post a picture of the slipper a little later :)

HOORAY dear Lynn:cheer2:Praise, praise, extra to God! I am so happy for you, my friend.

@dazedx3 Enjoy the time with the family. It will be bittersweet but I hope being with the kids and grandkids will bring you some peace. A rental house is so much better than a hotel. Sleep can be a big issue. It is hard to find a way to make it better.

@lynxstch Glad the painting is done. Now you can enjoy your freshly painted house.

I was in the office today. Then I had my mammogram. The results are back and online already. Thankfully the recommendation is come back for my yearly screening next year. Kenny, the kids, and I took a hike at a trail in his town. It isn't too long, maybe 20-25 minutes. Too many bugs though. This is a buggy year. I have tomorrow off to use up PTO. I plan to go to Market Basket, Kohls, and maybe another place. Then lunch with my friend. We meet halfway between our towns if I have the day off or work from home. That way we both drive about 35 minutes. The days I work in the office we meet in the next town over from my office which makes it easier for her. I am looking forward to talking with her as she always has some really good advice and comfort.

Have a good evening.
