Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

@Snowysmom, that sleepover sounds like a lot of fun. Something to look forward to.

Thanks to all who welcomed me back!

Wildflowers were in bloom in Shenandoah and we saw lots of butterflies. Was especially happy to see many goldfinches as well as three hummingbirds!

Our family is very athletic, so we expected to see them at dinners, once in the lodge, and then at their campsite. However, it rained Thursday PM, so we were lucky. They had done a good hike in the morning, so, we offered our room to shower in, and they met us for two ranger talks. If there’s any doubt about a bear’s tenacity to get food, look at the Igloo.

We listened to a talk about American Chestnuts and the blight that has practically made them extinct.

We played lots of Rummy and ended the time with dinner of Rice and Beans and S’mores at their campsite.

Happy Saturday to you all! I have lots of things to catch up doing today!

Good morning

@bobbiwoz Welcome back

@Pea-n-Me and @footballmouse Feel better

@Kirby - Glad you got to see the kids!

Dave and his brother came yesterday, Daryl is going to start painting. He says it can be done in 2-3 days. He quoted us a price of $300 ,,not per room, but for the total job? I told him that was way too low * walls, ceilings, trim, doors in 3 rooms, plus the trim in the doorways she never did in the dining room and living room. He said that's my price, whatever over that you want to pay me is fine. That's just crazy! We paid the other painter that for just the living room!

I am clearing out all the knick knacks and small stuff so we don't have to move it around.

Have a great Saturday

Good Morning :grouphug:

Thank you all again so much for all your wonderful rug suggestions. We will be calling places today. LOL, not sure how to describe what we are looking for other than think of a very thick and soft bathroom rug perhaps. Something truly plush that's not hard and flat.

Welcome home indeed dear Bobbiwoz, beautiful pictures as always, my friend. Thank you!

Lynn, love Pooh's advice and of course, always my love to you, you know that!

Snowysmom, that sounds like a lot of fun. Prayers that indeed it is, my friend.

PollyannaMom, of course, always love to you!

Saturday hug to all. I will check back later.

I think where you may want to concentrate you search to is probably what’s under the rug. The right underlaying pad can make a huge difference.

:thanks:Easyas!💕Dad will be going to Ikea on Monday!

I'm so extra thankful to God that on Monday I will get to see two church friends, E&R who I haven't seen really since Covid started! Dad and I will drop off some donations at ⛪on our way :car:to Burbank where Ikea and other places are. I will sit comfortably in Ikea while he looks around! Meantime I also will get to help him by weighing stuff at a self-serve machine at the post office and enjoy possibly also going to a Dollar Store or Hobby Lobby.

Sweet Dreams to all with love!

@lynxstch How nice that Dave' s brother will be painting for you. His cost in extremely reasonsable.

@flyingdumbo127 I hope you have a nice Monday seeing friends and getting errands done.

Good morning. It is cloudy here right now but supposed to get into the 80s and be partly sunny. We are heading to the Roger Williams Zoo. Yesterday we went to Jeff's and had a nice time with them. Then we went to the Museum of Science for a couple of hours. Kenny has a pass which has more than paid for itself. I plan to renew it for him for a Christmas gift.

Have a good day.

I love both of those places!! Good idea to renew the pass for Christmas.

Quiet day here. I should catch up on a couple of things on the computer, but I need to have breakfast first and work up the motivation.

Yesterday, DH and I went to look at freezers. (We have an upright in the basement that has started making occasional loud noises, so want to be prepared to replace it If it's going.) So far, we're leaning toward different ones. - He wants to get a bigger one similar to what we have. For the same price or less, I want to go with a set of two smaller convertible ones that can be set for fridge or freezer modes. I like the flexibility. We'll have to do some measuring before making a final decision.

Then we went to a new restaurant for dinner. It's owned by the same people as another place we already go to, and we liked it a lot. It's pretty much the same menu, but a bigger space. I had a Buffalo chicken wrap, DH had a stir fry, and we brought DS home some clam strips as takeout, since he was still at work.

After we got home, DH and I watched "A Man Called Otto" on Netflix. - I thought it was really good.

Good morning. Had a thunderstorm pass through last night. It was quite a light show outside. Everything is wet and it's already muggy and getting warm. Heading for 90 again. Stepson and family leave on their vacation today. They are trying to get through all 50 states before the last daughter finishes high school. They are almost done. This year they are going through 5 states in a week.
I cleaned more stuff up yesterday. Going to wipe down the walls and vacuum the rugs today before he starts painting tomorrow. Then I'm going to buy a bigger tv for the bedroom and have Dave wall mount it, and I want a blu ray player in there instead of the old style I have now. I ordered the new curtains yesterday and I already have the perfect color bedspread/quilt

Off to start on the walls. Have a great day

Happy Sunday dear friends :)

It's cooler and overcast so far here. Definitely doesn't feel like August. Sun has come out outside. Inside lol it already feels MUCH later in the day! I just watched a wonderful sermon of Jesus encouraging Peter to walk on water, keep his eyes on Him! It is my prayer through my life that I might step outside the boat so to speak in kind witness with joy to God. I also briefly listened afterwards to a young boy from another church (online) preaching.

Dad is doing morning 🛒ending up at Pavilions. This afternoon we will bake 🍪because it is cooler. We will bring most of them with us tomorrow to give various people at church. My friend R said she will use the half bag+ of extra chocolate chips we will have leftover so those won't go to waste which, of course, makes us happy. Too hot in our kitchen to keep chocolate for long. Dad tomorrow will be looking at Lowes and Ikea. I'll, of course, share what we find :)

Snowysmom, those places indeed sound like a lot of fun! What a wonderful family gift to have a season pass. Gives the gift to all of you of blessing of extra memories, fun and in different seasons/events, how cool! Have fun my friend:hug:

PollyannaMom:hug:so glad you enjoyed dinner and later a movie on 📺May you and your family have a happy Sunday!

Lynn:hug:what a cool trip your stepson and his family are taking! God Bless them and may they travel safely and have fun! You please rest some today! 🛋️

I will check back later :)

Quiet thread! 🙏all of you are enjoying the day :) Dad, thanks to God, long safely home. We will be baking 🍪soon. Wish all of you, in general as you all know, lived closer so you could enjoy some! God willing our Quacker meet will indeed still happen::MickeyMo

💕to all. Have a great rest of the day.

@flyingdumbo127 I hope your baking went well. Have a nice time shopping today.

Good morning. Cloudy here this morning. The sun is coming up later so I wake up in the dark again. I did like seeing daylight when I get up. It is 62 now but expected to go to around 80. We went to the Roger Williams Zoo yesterday. I haven't been there in a long time. It is a nice zoo that is easy to see and has a lot of animals. The bird shows are very interesting. It was a nice day for it, warm but cool in the shade, and a bit breezy.

Off to work. Have a good day.

Good Monday morning!🌷

I had a very nice weekend. Mia came over Friday afternoon and we played in the pool, she loves to splash 💦. Evan picked her up around 6:30. He had a side job to do Saturday and Bailey had to work later in the day. I told her if Evan wasn't done to bring Mia over to me so he didn't have to stop working to get home. Sure enough she came over around noon. Didn't play in the pool though, we just played and sang songs, she ate her lunch and then was out for a nap 😴. Evan ended up going to a late lunch with his brothers so he picked her up around 4:30. This gave me time to go get gas and get my tires filled before they closed. Yesterday it was beautiful out so in the morning I worked on cleaning the filter in the pond and then at noon I went to sit in the sun and the pool for the rest of the day. It was wonderful!!!!!😌

Supposed to get a good storm come through today. I set my hanging baskets out in the landscape to get a good watering.⛈️

I stopped at Sam's last week and bough some of their premade dinners. I divided them up into smaller meals (got about 3 meals from each one). Last night I had the stuffed peppers, really good.👍

Jacob is working in Kansas for the next 2 weeks. He asked that instead of bringing his dog, G, over could he bring the bully cat, Piper, over instead. She beats the crap out of the big 80 lb. dog so he wanted to give G a break. So Piper came over yesterday morning, so far she's been fine.

Snowysmom - zoo passes and museum passes are always great Xmas gifts. I'll probably get Evan & Bailey a zoo pass this Xmas. I figured by the spring Mia will enjoy going to see the animals. I'll definitely be getting the pass where I can be added, I'll probably take her more than they will. I loved taking the kids to the zoo when they were little.🦁🐵

Back to work, this is my first full week in the office since Covid hit. Not liking this new schedule >:(. Have a great day!

Good morning. It's painting day again, finally! He'll be here at 10. I just moved the rest of the loose stuff, and passed the vacuum again. Put all the stuff he might need on the bed, tapes, scissors, screwdriver, putty knife, drop cloths etc. I took all the outlet and switch plates down, and that's about all I can do for now. Not looking forward to moving furniture, but it has to be done. At least I'm only going to be looking at a mess for 3 days at the most, not 2 months like the last painter.

Have a great day

Good morning everyone. Quick pop in before my 9:30 Zoom meeting.
After this meeting I'm off on the road for the remainder of the day.
Had a great weekend, didn't do a whole lot, but it was relaxing. Went out to lunch yesterday at a new waterside place off of the Bay - it was good.
Got all my laundry bags washed and hung up on the line, a chore that was long overdue.
Weather is forecasting a storm this evening between 5 & 9+ so I should be home by 5:30ish, just in time for dinner on the porch to enjoy the storm. At least - that's the plan!!
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning! It’s prob going to be in the 80s today, and we’ll probably go to the pool today.

Black capped chickadees have come to the feeder this morning. I guess they pass through every year. They love hanging out in our red cedar trees!
I think they are around for a good part of the year around here. I love the way they land, grab a seed and are gone! The Tufted Titmouse does the same thing.

I haven't spent much time watching them this summer. Will try to get back to it as soon as school starts. Girls will be here Tuesday and Wednesday this week as Mom has meetings those days and has to go into the office.
