Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Good morning. It started out sunny, but they say storms shortly. It is already getting cloudy outside. Going to be near 90. We had a downpour yesterday and then the sun came back out and it was even stickier than it had been.

@easyas123 stay safe if it actually gets that bad!

Did a run through the garden already this morning, only a few cherry tomato's ready. Squash has really slowed down, I hope it's not done for the season already. Still no green beans ready to pick either.

Never heard from Dave yesterday so something must have come up. He will probably text me later and let me know.

SIL asked me to get her some groceries tomorrow when I go shopping after my cardiologist appt (just the 6 month follow up, it goes to once a year after this). I have no problem doing it, but she's picky. She only likes chicken from Martins. She only likes certain produce from Aldi's. She only likes certain things from Walmart. I can't be running all over the place. I told her to do everything as a Walmart pick up order and put my name as pick up person. I'll drop it off on her back deck and she can leave me a check for it.
I'm going to start laundry. Was going to wash the floor, but no point if it's going to rain.

Have a nice day

Back from vacation. I returned home last Thursday and I've been down and out with COVID since (first time having it). I'm thinking I caught it from the plane ride down there last Sunday. Tuesday I started with what we thought was a sinus infection. Wednesday I was really tired and Thursday the coughing and loss of taste set in. By Thursday night I was a mess. Called the Dr. Friday morning and was prescribed cough medicine with codine, that's knocking me out. Had to call off of work all weekend and then called off for my other job today and probably tomorrow. The coughing has gotten better, it's just the tiredness.

We had fun on our trip. Our agenda was beach and pool, and that is exactly what we did every day. We got out to dry off around 2:00 and walked to get something to eat and then back in the pool until the evening. At night we would walk down to a couple of other hotels and listened to their live music they had or the restaurant's music next to us. Had good weather, rained a little here and there but it didn't bother us.

We flew into Clearwater on Allegient, no problems. Flight down was fine, coming home was horrible only because I felt so bad. Haven't left the house since Friday so I'm going a little stir crazy. Haven't felt like eating much of anything so I'm just picking around on things.

Getting a storm moving through Cincinnati today, sat out on the porch this morning when a hard rain came down. That's about it, have a great day!

Mona have you tried Crocs?
That's a good idea!

Sitting at vet’s right now w Toto. Has an infection after kennel stay - again. 😬
Awww, poor baby! I'd offer to watch him myself next time you traveled if I didn't have kitties who are afraid of dogs.

I hope he feels better soon!

@footballmouse Feel better!

@easyas123 Poor Toto, hope he feels better soon!

No rain yet, back to full sun.

SIL feels better from the Covid, but now my niece has it. They told her to take Mucinex and Robitussin and if she felt worse call them back and they'll prescribe something.

Dave's brother called, he's going to try and come tomorrow night to see what he has to paint.

@footballmouse our posts must’ve crossed, I hope you feel better soon! Welcome to the Covid club! 🤒 Same with your family members @lynxstch.

@PollyannaMom that is so sweet of you! Thank you.

Had a vet different than my usual vet, but she’s good, too. She thinks he’s just allergic/susceptible to something there, and that it could happen anywhere. She had a few ideas about future kennel stays. I had given him a medicated bath after he got home. Cost today was nearly $300. (And kennel the same.) Have to follow up on this, too - I’m guessing that will be about the same, as last time, they did a second round of everything. Makes me nervous about future kennel stays knowing we have these problems. 😕 And quite pricey!

Yes, I think the Crocs give decent support but are also pretty comfortable. I have a couple of pairs myself - one pair I got on one trip when I forgot to pack my shoes!

Stay safe @Dead2009! We had something similar around my house recently, thankfully we were ok.

No bad weather here today. It rained early on. We did go to pool, 2-3, and it was very nice. We expected more rain, but it never materialized. High 70’s here in Cape May.

Tomorrow we will meet friends who will be walking on the ferry. We’ll meet them, have lunch, a short visit, then they head back to Delaware. We do this yearly, it’s amazing how fast the year goes.

Dad and I each got new Skechers today. With our $15 discount+ Skechers, buy one, get one half off deal (they always have) both of our shoes only cost us $76.63. Plus, we got reward points for our purchase :)

We have also considered an area rug and may go ahead and do that. Dad really needs to call our contact, Sonia, at the management office first. Not sure he will though because we are only one of three tenants who still are grandfathered into rent control which is why we haven't moved long ago. Our rent for us is expensive which I know I have already shared. Our next-door neighbor to our left not Y, for the same small space, pays over twice as much! I have double checked, and we did get this current flooring because dad paid half off it in June 2014. The City of West Hollywood requires landlords to replace flooring every 7 years. At that time, dad had been living here 20 years! So, you can all see where this is going! The owner only paid half because we went through the city for help, and they mandated that he do something. We could definitely do that again now. The thing is all apartments here now have laminate flooring. So not even sure he would agree to carpeting which is why an area rug would probably be our only option. I will have to start looking up prices. Still think dad needs to call Sonia.

Pea, thank you for the Croc suggestion. I'm hoping the Target sandals (I will start wearing them tomorrow) may work similarly, Skecher's only had very heavy sandal choices or choices with too many straps this morning or I would have looked into that.

Isaiah 41:10, a favorite verse of mine seems like a perfect reminder to a whole lot of you today with a ton of extra love from me, as well!

XO and prayers extra for doggies, humans, and all!

@flyingdumbo127 Glad you were able to get new shoes. Landlord situations can be hard to deal with. An area rug sounds like a good idea. Amazon has alot of them. I have been looking between Amazon and Wayfair. Sometimes Wayfair has really good sales.

Good morning. Very cloudy here today with thunderstorms coming in. Heavy thunderstorms are forecast during the day. I did not walk yesterday due to showers and it looks like today I will not be able to either. I do need a bit of a break and need to chill out a bit so it is for the best. My attorney wants me to sign the paperwork for an Aug 31 closing. I told him I want to know if the guarantee for no water in the basement will be extended an extra year. I have the one year warranty on the condo but do want the extra year for water issues. Also, I told him my agent said an Aug 31 closing is highly unlikely. I want to know where I stand.

Chris' close cousin who was more like a brother has his 7th recurrence of his cancer now. It is on his rib and maybe 2 other places. Please keep him in prayer. He has fought this for almost 10 years. I keep in touch with him to make sure he is doing OK as he lives alone in another state with his dog. Chris would want me to check up on him.

Off to work. It is busy now with extra things to do. Have a good day.

Sorry to hear about Chris's cousin, @Snowysmom

I'm still not quite back in routine after the busy event weekend, but I'm getting there!

...it’s amazing how fast the year goes.
So true!! DS and I have a theory about why each year seems faster than the last. - We think that how we perceive a year is related to the percentage of our lives that a year occupies. So if you're 5 years old, a year is 20% of your life - and that's huge! When you're 20, it's 5%, and by the time you're 50, it's just 2% - practically a blip on the radar.

Just a quick good morning and then I have to get moving. We only had 2 storms yesterday, thankfully, and not a lot of damage other than some downed branches.

Off to my doctor appt and grocery shopping. I had my SIL do her walmart one as a pick up. She started with 6 things and by the time she sent me a list it was 50 items long. I don't have the time to shop for that much for her and do mine too.

I'll check in later

Have a nice morning.

Good Morning Dear Friends,

I just ordered on Amazon this pink rug. It's coming today! Dad will be calling Sonia this afternoon :cheer2:We both agreed that regardless of what she may she, by our getting one small rug we will at least have an idea of whether it helps and also the size. Walmart.com has a lot of similar choices, too. Thank you, Snowysmom and all of dear you for the encouragement always! Snowysmom, extra ❤️and prayer dear friend. Prayers absolutely for Chris' Cousin and forever for you, you know that!

PollyannaMom:grouphug:please get some rest dear friend and take care of yourself!

Lynn:hug:extra grateful to God you are okay and praying, of course, all affected by wild weather, are, too! Good for you for letting your SIL know that you can only do so much.

I did thoroughly enjoy Roma Downey's Be An Angel Book that I read for free as a library E Book. I would recommend it for sure :)

Tuesday love and joy to all. I will come back later :)

@easyas123 stay safe if it actually gets that bad!
Thanks! It didn't, although we enjoyed a wonderful thunder & lightning show from the porch for about a hour. Just moved our chairs to the side of the house where it wasn't blowing on us and poured ourselves a glass of wine and watched the show. It's nice having green vs. the usual brown and dried grass this time of year!
I told her to do everything as a Walmart pick up order and put my name as pick up person. I'll drop it off on her back deck and she can leave me a check for it.
I'm not sure how it works with others picking up the groceries, but if I do a pick up order from Walmart I prepay, so maybe your SIL can prepay and you can skip having to deal with a check and going to the bank and whatnot.
down and out with COVID since (first time having it).
Welcome to the Covid club. My husband and I have both had it twice, that we know of. First time was before vaccines available and the worst of if only lasted a few days, although he got long-covid that took him a good 9 months to shake. Second time we never would have known we had it except we decided to test when two different people we had been in contact with came down with it and we figured we'd better test even though we had no symptoms.
Mona have you tried Crocs?
Oh, good thinking, they do provide a good support.
Chris' close cousin who was more like a brother has his 7th recurrence of his cancer now. It is on his rib and maybe 2 other places. Please keep him in prayer. He has fought this for almost 10 years.
That's terrible, poor man must been exhausted from his long fight. I wish him well.

Not a whole lot going on here. Pleasant, clear day here. At least that is how it looks out my window. I'm going home at lunch to spring the mutts so I'll know for sure soon enough!
No idea what is for supper. We had fish last night, french dips the night before. I'm tired of thinking up ideas of stuff for dinner. Maybe we will just do soup and sandwiches? Or quiche. I dunno, I'll figure it out.

:hug:Easyas. I'm so very thankful you are safe, my friend!

Pea and Footballmouse, thinking extra of both of you along with Kirby🙏Also, it seems like forever since AuntieMe3 has posted. Many prayers she has just been happily busy! Have any of you heard from her? Thanks :)

Glad everyone got through the storms yesterday. This morning as I was working my phone went crazy with a weather alert. Our area was in a tornado warning. I looked around downstairs and found my place to go if I heard anything and then went back to work. My area was on the fringe of the warning so not too concerned. Now it is sunny with occasional dark clouds and raindrops.
