As I was driving to Kenny's yesterday he called me to tell me to look in the back yard when I got to his house. There was a surprise for me. I could not even guess what it was but lots of guesses about what I did not want it to be. I looked out in the yard and he got me a bird feeder. He knows how much I miss feeding the birds and seeing them around.
That was so sweet of Kenny! It made me tear up a bit. What a sweet gesture. Great children you have.
Thank you, dear Pea for your

information. Dad does have a pumice stone and uses lotion every night after his shower. He wore his new

this morning and liked them. He's had calluses for quite a while now and we know it's not good for him to keep relying on the cushions.

I'm sorry you get them, too. Thank you for bringing fun and cheer with treats through the Easter bags.
They don’t bother me much, they actually protect the feet. Runners get them, too. Or in my case, being on my feet and running around for 12 hrs at a time. I don’t have any foot pain so they are serving a purpose! Glad Dad has a stone!
Lynn, glad things are moving along with the deck! You’re giving Dave a workout!
Well I woke up today to DS and DH starting to tackle the downstairs family room. They invited me down to look, but once I started “inspecting” they told me I could go back upstairs to have my coffee and donut!

(I can take a hint, and honestly I didn’t want any part of cleaning it out anyway! It’s mostly DS’s stuff from his college apt and all his many years of baseball uniforms and all that, so he made the decisions of what to do with them.)
Tonight we made a salad that I’d seen on IG, I didn’t like it so wound up throwing some salad dressing on and it was good that way. Then we made a Mexican spaghetti and Mexican corn. I liked the corn, but the spaghetti I could only take a couple of bites off. I might’ve filled up on salad. I put it aside and maybe later I’ll see if I like it better. Everyone else loved it, including DD’s boyfriend, who had two plates full. I’m finding that the dishes where you put spaghetti or other pasta directly into the dish (rather than boiling) don’t sit well with me. I guess I’m used to and prefer regularly cooked pasta. Not sure it would‘ve made a difference in this case, but something to think about. That ravioli dish we made last week was the same way. We said if we make it again, we’ll boil the ravioli first.
QOTD: Are you old fashioned about cooking pasta and cook it in water? Or are you following the new trends of adding it directly to dishes and letting it cook that way?
This was the Mexican Spaghetti dish
Wishing everyone a nice Sunday!

I have to get a haircut and we might run to Lowe’s to look at some paneling. I picked out a nice light gray last time we started doing this (nothing like the old dark browns we grew up with) and I really liked it, hoping they still have it. We’ll work around that. DH wants to re-insulate behind the walls, it gets a little chilly down there.
