Sweet Dreams to all with love.

Loved the pictures and the memories! I've stayed at Coronado Springs several times and had good times there! Have never stayed since Gran Destino was built but it looks gorgeous. Glad you enjoyed it! I've only got a few resorts I haven't stayed at- Carribean Beach, Port Orleans, Yacht club, Swan Reserve and Riviera. Riviera I'll do for one night to try it out next trip.
Coronado Springs has been on our short list a couple of times, but we never ended up picking it. We've stayed at Port Orleans Riverside, Caribbean Beach, Pop Century, Port Orleans French Quarter, and Animal Kingdom Lodge. (I loved all of them!)

Good morning all--spring weather again today, rain for tomorrow.

@easyas123 your day sounds like mine, time to take the decorations down. Tree stays up till New Years Day, but everything else will be packed away

It's been a pretty lazy week here. I knew I had to clean after I took everything down, so didn't bother with much of it before today.

Have a good one

Hello and welcome to Friday to all Quackers.

@Pea-n-Me Sounds like you had a wonderful trip. Thanks for all the great pictures.

@bobbiwoz Fun traditional picture and hope your trip is going well.

@easyas123 and @Judique Shopping for cars rates right up there with a root canal for me. Good luck to both of you and anyone else who is buying a vehicle right now.

@Kirby I hope the kids are home now or at the very least you know where they are. I have lots of words I'd like to use on your behalf to describe the situation, but none of them are Dis friendly.

@Snowysmom I hope you are enjoying your time at Kenny's.

@dazedx3 Sending you continued hugs and prayers.

I don't have much to report on this end. I survived Christmas, but, I will admit, it was much worse than I thought it would be. FH threw a lot of stuff at me the week leading up to it, so that piled on with the normal stress of the holidays, made for a crappy Christmas . Thankfully, we still have one more celebration tonight and hopefully it will be fun and the kids and I will just be able to relax and have a good time.

If you have a few extra prayers, my oldest son could really use some. He's just really struggling still and his winter break from school has been hard for him, for whatever reasons...he won't open up to me, so I just have to kind of guess and fill-in the blanks a bit when he does open up just a tiny bit. And, my friends friend who I mentioned a few weeks ago has really declined in the last few days. The hospice nurse told her family it will probably be less than two weeks.

I hope all of you have a good New Year's. It's never been a big celebration holiday for me, so it will be pretty quiet around here tomorrow. I will probably take down lights and decorations and clean a bit.

QUESTION OF THE DAY (no real inspiration for it, but I am curious and am always looking for new things to make, as I've mentioned before) What is your go to comfort food for cold winter days/nights or when you are just feeling a bit low?

Frog  I’m glad you will get to hang out with your kids in a low key way tonight. Said prayers for your son. It’s so hard to feel conflicted about those you love, assuming that’s what’s going on. I always remember with my kids reading that same sex children identify most with their same sex parent, and learn how to be an adult from them, too. Maybe something inside your son just isn’t sitting right with him but it’s hard to put a finger on it. I know I’ve had this happen even as an adult, so it’s got to be even harder for a child. Praying he can express his feelings a bit. I know you’ve said they’re receiving counseling and that’s good.

Easy I hope you can find the SUV you want. Lynn’s SIL too. A relative has been looking for a couple of years now to find the Ford truck he wants. And he worked for Ford! I love buying a new car but I’m glad I (hopefully) won’t need to be buying one anytime soon. I would like to detail mine soon, but I will likely wait until the spring now.

@bobbiwoz I hope you reached your destination safely and are having a great time.

Well I’ve been beat. Fell asleep at 6pm the last two nights. Forgot to say, the day I got the dogs home I rested for a few, then had to go grocery shopping as we literally had nothing in the fridge, I’d let it run down and cleaned the rest out. So had to go. Lugged everything in while they were fixing the fence and put together a quick meal, then went to bed! I wasn’t actually using vacation days, I’d just managed some days off in a row, so it’s back to work for me now over New Year’s (and worked up until I went, which I think is catching up to me now; will aim not to do that again).

I do have a week off coming up in January and looking forward to that. I realized when I was packing that I really need to get my clothes and bedroom situated, so hopefully I can work on that then. I did manage to clean out our main coat closet before we went away so that created some space. Donated a lot of coats and jackets. I will have a lot of clothes to donate, too, and jewelry, shoes, etc.

Forgot to say, in grocery store, people were standing around complaining about prices. I felt bad for one older lady, she said to me, “Pretty soon I won’t be able to eat”. 🥲 Eggs were $5.50 a dozen, there were two other people looking at the eggs and just shaking their heads. I had to get some so I had to suck it up. Everything else seemed at least doubled. After this weekend I’ll be able to hit some other stores that are maybe more reasonable but I was stuck with the high prices the other day, and this is with a regular grocery chain store near where I live. I worry about people on a fixed income and those with young families.

QOTD: DH made a nice chicken stew last night. We like beef stew, too, but DD is not much of a beef eater, so often we make chicken, and it was really good. DH brought me some when I woke up and then I went back to sleep. I didn’t think to get any pics, lol. But it’s great comfort food, and relatively healthy.

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year now. 🐥 Hope everyone has a peaceful weekend with decent weather.

I had a few more random pics to post.

I forgot this one, it was cute, from Boma breakfast, in a drink. The Mickey head later stayed by our room tree flashing different colors.

Hmmm, cold weather is always something hot. Feeling low, could be anything.

At the moment, GK's are still not home. He is still refusing to bring them and wants her to drive and meet him in Lubbock to pick them up. Says he can't fly due to winter storms. If he is in Albuquerque then there hasn't been any weather to speak of since Wednesday. Flights left there for Dallas all day yesterday and no problems today either.

DS is doing a little better today.

Good Morning dear Quackers and Happy last Friday of 2023!

I'm thankful to read that it sounds like some of you have lower key days ahead today.

:grouphug:🙏hugely dear Frog and Kirby. I am also saying extra prayers of peace for our friend Dazed!

Pea, precious Grady! I love him. Thank you so much for more wonderful pictures.

Dad is doing laundry followed by Ralph's. This afternoon, he will quickly go to CVS to pick up pictures and the post office. Then, thank God, he will be home all weekend. I do pray in 2023 he chooses to stay home much more. I just watched extra of Christmas Eve and day worship which I enjoyed so much again. Christmas should be kept in our hearts and way through our life each day. Carol, I really did like the minister's Christmas Eve sermon. Also loved how on Christmas Day each person in the congregation was invited to share a gratitude. Thank you again, always, for inviting me to be part of your church from across the country. I am so grateful that God placed that call to you to do.

Hugs to all and I will come back later.

Happy Friday. Not much happening here...need to get the house in order today but I'm taking my time.

We usually have friends over for New Years Eve but we're considering asking our friends if they would mind if we went over to their house instead. Our homes are pretty interchangeable when hanging out so I know they wouldn't mind us going there instead since it's just us and them and our (adult)kids. We'll just take all the food over I was planning on serving here. DD would prefer a quieter night at home with us going somewhere else  and we're not sure how Dolly will do with the company and loud music for the night. So we'll need to decide that today.

@Pea-n-Me thanks for the WDW photos...I've never been either, just Disneyland. Also love the picture of Grady....:lovestruc He looks happy to be home.

@Kirby I'm sorry the GKs are still not home. Soo upsetting. What a jerk. I hope they are home soon.

Had to pick up DH from the dealership yesterday when he dropped off our truck for a service and I got Dolly in the car to go with us. She's been really skittish about getting in the car so we've been working to make her more comfortable with it. She did so good yesterday, I tried again this morning when I unexpectedly had to take DD to work this morning...I had to coax her in with some treats but she did really good again.

My go to is sometimes tomato soup, possibly with a grilled cheese if I want to be super fancy! In terms of cold weather, we are another stew family. Lamb, venison, chicken, beef- you name it. With crusty bread, always crusty bread.

Hmmm well what a horses backside he’s being. I would do a few cursory looks at different airlines with flights today, and tomorrow, provide that information to her lawyer today to pass on to his lawyer. And tell him to shove it where the sun don’t shine….oh, and to call HIS lawyer.

And k…I’m not involved and I think I know why these situations can turn into a hornets nest, my mind is going 1,000,000 miles a minute with what I would do in response. None of it makes me look too good.

I like making chili and cornbread or enchiladas when it's cold out but my comfort food is always tacos. It's the meal i always want, my mom would make them for me when I was celebrating or feeling down so it's my absolute comfort food.

:grouphug: hugs to you and your son.

@easyas123 same for me...jerk was the "nicest" thing I could think of saying.

Hello. Getting ready for Ethan's party. Stoppping by for a few minutes.

@Pea-n-Me Love the picture of Grady. He looks so happy and content.

Frog So sorry your FH is being a jerk. (Sorry to be judgmental) I truly hope you and the kids can have a good time together this weekend. I also keep you and your family in my prayers. FH does not care how his behavior affects the kids.

Kirby Your DD's attorney really needs to get a handle on this. Isn't it against the agreement for the ex to still have the kids? Weather is no longer an issue with flight delays. Southwest is having it's own issues not weather related.

Thinking of dazedx3

For comfort food I like to make pizza, pasta soup, and breakfast foods like pancakes and cinnamon bread.

Have a good rest of the day.

Aww, Miss Dolly, she looks great! Sounds like she’s getting more used to the car and learning it brings fun things!

I wish I could make tacos! DS’s ex-girlfriend used to make them for us and they were so good. Any tips?

Good morning.

Been to yoga and now looking at Hawaii planning with Jack. We have three hotels booked for 13 nights total. Now looking at car rentals, flights, and Pearl Harbor tickets. Ordered snorkel masks.

*********************************************************

Well, that never got posted. I got caught up in other things.

Something really sad happened here in Cecil County yesterday. A 37 year old heavy equipment mechanic was crushed to death at the landfill while working on equipment there. He was the husband of a former coworker of mine. They have two elementary age kids. I just can't get this out of my mind. So tragic and sad.

Sorry for the downer.

Watching Maryland vs NCSU in the Dukes Mayo Bowl. They dump mayonnaise on the winning coach. Jack went to NCSU and both kids went to MD.

Tomato soup and grilled cheese. Or chicken gyro and fries from our favorite carry out. Mac and cheese.

At the moment, GK's are still not home.
ARRRRGGGGHHHHHH what a jerk!

Thank you again, always, for inviting me to be part of your church from across the country.
So glad you can be a part of our virtual family.

Believe me, we have those conversations all the time, we just don't act on them. 😄

DD has been sending screen shots of the current weather reports and that there are plenty of flights available. Her current attorney just came in six months ago and has been trying to play catch up. He's had to wade through all the stuff her last attorney didn't do and get all of that done so that he can show the judge what a jerk her ex is. They do have a court date next Friday. This guy has done more for DD than her last attorney did in one year. Also, the courts have been closed this week for the holidays so our hands are tied. We don't expect to see the kids until Sunday night. DD's ex is also wanting her to drive to Lubbock which is halfway, six hours, and meet her at a specific time to do the exchange tomorrow. We're wondering why a specific time and feel that if he can drive to Lubbock then he can drive here. We're on the way home for him.

So sad especially this time of year.

Thanks! He's definitely a jerk.

Have had a very nice day so far. Oldest niece and her DH came over this morning for a Christmas visit and got to see the kitties. (They both love cats but don't have any of their own.)

We exchanged gifts and they taught us how to play a new (to us) game called Carcassonne, which we really enjoyed! - Then we took them to a new (to them) place we love for lunch. ❤️

DH and I played another round of the game after they left, and now I'm out with one of the cats, enjoying the mild weather.

Leaving MK. Was “snowing” by the time we got to the end of Main Street
Oh, I'd forgotten about the "snow" - sooo magical!!

Yesterday the main event was calling AAA to come jumpstart my van. They had to give me a new battery since the dead one was bought in March of 2022. Took it out to run it for a while and stopped at Autozone to pick up some windshield fluid. Back to van and it wouldn't start. Autozone brought out the portable charger and got it going in a couple of minutes. I called my Van mechanic and he had me drive it over. Opened the hood and tightened the battery cables. So far so good. Hopefully it will start again tomorrow. Problem is I just don't drive it often enough.

Today was easier. I had to get the hybrid started. I delayed that, because once started it had to be driven for 30 minutes. This afternoon I went out, pushed the reset button and car started right up. Drove away and wandered the streets and the highway for 30 minutes plus to charge it up. So much easier to have a reset button instead of calling AAA and messing around with a tech for too long.

That was my two days, other than eating and sleeping.

Good evening hug with love from me. I've been helping dad with a birthday gift for a friend of his that he will be mailing tomorrow. Dad never did go to the post office or CVS today. I simply pray tomorrow' s errands out are quick so he can God-willing, be home and get some extra rest for a change.

AuntieMe3, I would happily Dolly-sit for you if we lived a bit closer together and, of course, weren’t still in a pandemic. She is adorable and I’m truly grateful that she’s settling in more thanks to the loving you and your family give her which always I thank you so much for. Enjoy a more relaxing celebration not having to host!

Easyas, I hope you did enjoy a warm and cozy meal tonight and are also able to have an at-home weekend, as well.

Snowysmom, thinking of you with extra love this New Year’s weekend. I truly do pray you find comfort in being with family and getting to enjoy Ethan’s party. Always may you know God is with you and that we all care so much, too.

Pea, Miss Dolly and Mr. Grady could be semi related. Both precious dogs indeed. May this evening find you, my friend, enjoying some R&R with both Grady and dear Toto, too!

Carol, that is horribly tragic :( Many prayers for his family and all, including you, that knew him. I am so sorry to read that, my friend. Thank you so much always on church and how glad I am you are getting to Hawaii plan! My grandparents got to there for their 50th Anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed their trip. You and Jack will have such a wonderful time, too!

Kirby, once again and always, a whole lot of extra prayer and thanks to you for all the love you give your precious grandkids! I truly pray all children would know only a safe, warm, faith-filled, and unconditionally loving home. Lil Joe and Lou Lou are beyond blessed to have you. You know how sorry I am that once more those precious kids are in the situation they are. Prayers for a peaceful resolution once and for all that is for sure!

PollyannaMom, how fun to enjoy a new game with friends. Blessing to be able to do both. Brightened my evening to read your share.

Car prayers, Judqiue! I am sure sorry yours has been giving you grief. PLEASE thought take care, my friend! Get some rest.

Lynn, I hope this post finds you and Don well!

Wishing all of you sweet dreams and a happy Saturday to come.
