Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

@Kirby :grouphug: Your ex SIL is definitely not a nice person. I hope your DD's attorney can get something done so this does not happen again. I hope your DS feels better after the treatment. Sending prayers.

@Pea-n-Me Sounds like a great trip. Coronado Springs looks so nice. It was on our list to stay. I love your God wink story. I am glad your mother and his father brightened your days. Grapefruit beer in Germany is so good. I am glad Grady did well in the kennel. Toto helped him I am sure.

@flyingdumbo127 Prayers for your Dad's doctor appt today. Hope all goes well.

it is 30 now going up into the 40s. Work first then off to Kenny's. I am making Ethan's favorite dinner. He calls it Nana's chicken, pasta, and broccoli. It is nothing fancy, I just mix those foods together and top with cheese. Today is Ethan's actual birthday. He was born the same day as my Dad.

Have a good day.

Yikes, that was long, sorry! I tried to break it into two after posting but it came out weird, so just going to leave it. Lol
No worries! I have been looking forward to reading your report, and the pics are beautiful too!

I'm so glad Grady did well!! (I admit I was kind of worried about him.)

Glad your flight home wasn't cancelled, and I hope the golf clubs arrive soon.

Good morning.

Lying in bed being lazy. Thought I’d get on here before the day gets away from me.

@Pea-n-Me thanks for the trip report. Sounds like a great time. Glad Grady survived the kennel.

We don't know where they are
That is just awful. I am not sure how a person can act like that.

Time to shower.

Good Thursday morning.

Decided to go out in public last night and I went to Evan's soccer game.

I probably missed it but do/did you watch Yellowstone?
I don't watch Yellowstone. I recorded it at Thanksgiving, they were doing a marathon from the beginning. I'm not sure if all the episodes were recorded but I'll eventually get around to watching it.

Nothing else going on for me today. I do have a meeting in 3 minutes that I have to log on for so I'll end it here. Have a great day!

Unfortunately in Mass you cannot postpone jury duty unless you have a really, really good reason and they will be the judge of that. You can't even ask to go to a different court closer to home. Years ago you could.

That's why I asked, as I used to live in MA, and I know I postponed mine 2x. When I actually showed up for it the next time, we were all sent home anyhow, lol

Good morning. Sun is out and we are expecting 60 degrees until at least Sunday!

@Kirby --How awful not knowing where the kids were. He really has no conscience -hopefully they are home by now. More prayers for your son.

@flyingdumbo127 --Prayers for your Dad's appt.

@Pea-n-Me --Wonderful trip report, and pictures, thanks for sharing! And the longer the better, we all get to live vicariously through it that way! I hope your husband's golf clubs reappear, kind of a strange item to lose! Glad that Grady was okay with the kennel.

@footballmouse Don watches Yellowstone faithfully, I just can't get into it. I found the first 3 seasons on Ebay for less than $20 so I put those in his Christmas stocking. Have to find the others for him.

Today is laundry and light cleaning day. The heart clinic is sending a social worker today to help Don fill out all the re enrollment papers for his 4 meds. I took care of mine already, just waiting for approval.

Have a great morning, enjoy the warmer weather

Back from my meeting, now I can finish what I wanted to post.

Kirby - I know your daughter is probably besides herself with his ignorant comment of "call your lawyer". Just drop the kids off like he knows he's supposed to. He apparently is very childish. Hope his lawyer got in touch with him and told him to grow up and follow the decree. This behavior just makes me mad b/c this is what I had to deal with.

Pea-n-Me - Sounds like a great trip. I've never stayed at Gran Destino Tower but I've heard how beautiful it is, very classy.

Signed up for the Home Fresh meals yesterday. I received a discount code from AAA for $35 for the first 5 boxes. I figured I would cancel after that.

Okay, that's it. Back to work.

No word today regarding when DD's ex will bring the kids back. She did text her attorney this morning regarding whether to contact the police and he said that since there were flight issues yesterday it would be useless at the moment. So she has decided to remain quiet, not contact her ex about the kids and only contact her attorney later this evening to give him an update. Each time she contacts him its more money down the drain and that is what her ex wants. Of course, it costs him when he talks to his attorney but his mindset is that his wife will pay for it, it's not costing him a dime. So, it's just a waiting game. We are hoping that they will arrive at noon today.

Pea, enjoyed your trip report and pictures!

Bobbiwoz, safe travels!

Glad you enjoyed the TR and pictures. A few more from around the resort

Dig Site pool and play area

I remember when my kids were little them participating in the “ceremony” they do on the pyramid waterfall to open the pool every day. They remembered it too.

Good afternoon dear friends,

I'm sorry to be so late to posting today! What a truly blessed Thursday! Thank you all, always for you prayers in general for my dad and I and extra for him at doctor's appointments. He received great news this morning for which we are so humbly thankful to God! We are so blessed indeed.

Pea, I haven't ever been to WDW. I LOVED all your wonderful pictures, thank you so much, my friend for sharing all of them with us. Welcome home! I'm happy you overall had a good trip.

HUGE hugs Kirby in just a ton of different ways! We are here and care. Praying for those precious kids extra and you, too always and your son.

Shorter post for now, I did read all your shares and as always thank you for them and continuing to grow our Quacker family in faith, friendship, and loving care. Each of you makes such a bright difference to me and I thank you!

Have a good rest of the afternoon!

And they were?….
A GMC Yukon, Ford Expedition, and the Volvo XC90 made the top 3 list. I loved the XC90, and I've had 3 Volvo's before and just really like the vehicle BUT I suspect I'll end up with one of the other two simply due to the fact that they are 4 wheel drive (which I should get) and have a heavier towing capacity (which I may need). We have other heavy trucks on the immediate family so maybe .... we will see. I'm soooo glad to get that chore over with. The only vehicle I didn't get to drive/see was the Toyota Sequoia - none of the dealers near me have any on site, not even used! I was going to have to put down a deposit to get one sent to the dealership - I figured that wasn't worth the hassle or paperwork so I passed.
She said no, we are sticking to the decree.
Good for her, it must be near to impossible for her to keep her cool and her mouth shut. She must be a strong, smart gal not to let him play her. Must be extremely difficult when someone is playing games with your children and you have to play it cool to win in the end...I'd be losing my mind.
I hope your son starts to feel better real soon, I'm not sure about what the blood platelets do but I'm glad he got them.
Some pics.
Great photos - looks like you guys had a wonderful time!
The heart clinic is sending a social worker today to help Don fill out all the re enrollment papers for his 4 meds. I took care of mine already, just waiting for approval.
That's cool that they will send someone to him to assist figuring out the paperwork, that must be really helpful. What a enormous pain to go thru that every year.
Signed up for the Home Fresh meals yesterday.
My SIL gets that weekly, they really like it. I'm not sure how many meals they get - I think maybe 3?
Just took our yearly picture at the Georgia Welcome Center!
Great tradition!
Grapefruit beer in Germany. Drank some before I remembered to take a pic!
It filled up the cup. Came in a bottle but they pour it in a cup.
Yum - we used to have Grapefruit beer (Sands) when down visiting my folks. Haven't had it in forever.
I recall one year we got a Key Lime wine from one of the kiosks at Disney Springs, have never been able to find it again and it was so, so good. And I'm not into sweet wines, but it was more tart than sweet. Tried ordering a few different Florida Key Lime wines but never did land on the right one.
He received great news this morning

Wonderful - glad he's gotten good news from his Dr.

Good evening to you all. Not much happening here in my neck of the woods. Mild outside today, quite pleasant. Tomorrow looks much the same and then we get a few days of rain. The dogs are all on edge, there are 6 deer out back which isn't unusual but they decided to come up close to the house PLUS both the barn cats are out there so the pups are on high patrol making sure those deer - who don't give a darn - know they are on the job! The deer and the cats have been ignoring them for the past hour!

I went big grocery shopping today, grabbed several of those higher cost items I don't need regularly. Like trash bags - why on earth is it darn near impossible to find the good trash bags without any scent??? $20 for a box of trash bags, that just bugs the you know what out of me. Plus I picked up a few OTC meds, like Delsym, Alka Seltzer and a new pot of Vicks Vapor rub to replace the one that expired in 2014. I also treated myself to a new ironing board cover.

Foster pup is officially up for adoption, so we will see where that leads. I'm sure he will generate some interest which will lead to a good home for him.

I suppose I ought to wrangle up some dinner. Not sure what I feel like, if anything. It might be a crackers & cheese kinda evening.

Thank you, Kirby. I am sad to read about how your DD’s ex behaves.

We just stopped at B&J’s seafood just north of Brunswick GA. It‘s a favorite of ours, and the fresh GA shrimp is so good.

240 miles to go!
Although I haven't stopped there since before the pandemic, I've had many takeout boxes of shrimp, fries and coleslaw from B&J's! Been stopping there for many years. We ate in maybe once 20 years ago, but it was always so crowded that we started just calling in a takeout order.

My best shrimp spot is still Crazy Crab as you go toward Hilton Head - not the one in Harbortown. Shrimp are the only thing I order so have no idea if the rest of the food is any good.

Hope your New Years trip is special! I'll be on Hilton Head at Disney for 4 nights end of January and then on to Disney World for 8 more nights.

Good evening.

We ended up driving up to Lancaster to the outlets. I was looking for long underwear but didn't want to spend $40. I think I'll go to Kohl's and look for Cuddl Duds. Also went to Lee/Wrangler outlet so Jack could get jeans. He also got a belt and I got a skort for $8 and a blouse for $9.

On the way home, we drove by Herr's Potato Chip Factory to see their free drive through light show. Nice as always.

We just stopped at B&J’s seafood just north of Brunswick GA.
Will have to keep that in mind on our many drives up and down I95.

I suppose I ought to wrangle up some dinner. Not sure what I feel like,
I felt like tacos but had one last dinner of leftover turkey and what sides we had left. Still some turkey left for sandwiches.

Loved the pictures and the memories! I've stayed at Coronado Springs several times and had good times there! Have never stayed since Gran Destino was built but it looks gorgeous. Glad you enjoyed it! I've only got a few resorts I haven't stayed at- Carribean Beach, Port Orleans, Yacht club, Swan Reserve and Riviera. Riviera I'll do for one night to try it out next trip.

The only vehicle I didn't get to drive/see was the Toyota Sequoia - none of the dealers near me have any on site, not even used! I was going to have to put down a deposit to get one sent to the dealership - I figured that wasn't worth the hassle or paperwork so I passed.
Were any other dealerships asking for deposits? I don't know what's up with Toyota but since I gave them my number and allowed them to text, they are sending me texts that they have a Toyota Highlander coming in or already in. I'm not interested at the moment but will get back into looking after my Disney trip, but I'm in no big hurry.
I suppose I ought to wrangle up some dinner. Not sure what I feel like, if anything. It might be a crackers & cheese kinda evening.
I raided the fridge for crab dip, cheese and crackers and some mixed salami/prosciutto with a glass of wine. DD ordered in, not sure what she had but she brought me a macadamia cookie which I ate for dessert.

Hello Fresh last night, but next delivery is not till Saturday.

Were any other dealerships asking for deposits?
Ford place was taking a $1K refundable &/or transferable deposit to order the Expedition, Toyota place wanted $2500 deposit down in order to get it in for me to see it. I didn't get into them about the details of it - refundable or what - at the Toyota place since I internally had already decided I wasn't going in that direction.
If I wanted to order the Expedition I worked up on the computer - color/specific bells & whistles - they told me it would be 3-6 months. I'm tossing around possibly placing the order. We already have another Ford truck we placed the order for in August, "should" be here in January or February.
