Happy New Year all...much quieter NYE than usual for us. We did end up going to our friends, their DS, DIL and baby A were there. We rang in the New Year east coast time and then was home by 10:30. DH went to bed as soon as we got home but DD, Dolly and I rang in the New Year, our time, together on the couch and then went to bed. It was cold, super windy and rainy but bright and sunny this morning...
I made biscuits and gravy this morning for breakfast and have just been lounging since.

Hope you all have a great day.

Happy New Year. I am back at my condo. I spent the morning with Kenny and the kids. They got model rockets for Christmas so we went to a big field and launched them. The kids were amazed. Kenny is very safety conscious so the kids could not do it unless they promised to listen to him and if they did not, they were done. All went well. I watched the kids while Kenny went to the gym. I was happy to do that so he could have some time to do something for himself.

Being back at the condo makes me realize I need to make some decisions soon. But, today I am just trying to get through the day. I am finding this to be a difficult day so I need to do some self care. I am making tomato soup and grilled cheese for supper. Good old comfort food. My boss asked if I would work tomorrow even though it is a holiday for the company. It is year end and they want to get a jump on the close. We will get another day off later. I am not thrilled but figure I should be a team player. At least it will keep me busy for 6 hours.

Have a good day.

Yum, haven’t made that in forever- might have to next weekend!

We ended up taking the dogs for a second walk around the farm and down to the creek. Then the eldest came over to pick up one of the boats for a duck hunting jaunt w/ some buddies tomorrow morning.

I should do some ironing BUT I’m not going to, I’m just gonna chill!

Good evening.

Jack and I stayed awake until midnight but were in bed so asleep soon after.

Today it was church with a stop at the grocery on the way home. Then I had a special New Year's yoga class. After that, it was so nice we went for a 2.2 mile hike in Fair Hill. Now I am physically tired. Need to roast a small pork loin for dinner. Then, Ravens on TV.

No decorations coming down here until Epiphany on January 6. A few Santa's may get put away before then.

Better get moving but I have a bad case of inertia today.

Happy New Year!!!

DH and I went out to an early dinner yesterday at Saltgrass Steakhouse. Food and service was great! Then later that evening we met up with friends at one of their homes to sit around a bonfire and enjoy the evening. We rang in the New Year together and came home.

DH and I went to the early service this morning. I think that a lot were sleeping in because there is usually a bigger crowd. We came home and ate breakfast. My internet had been down since last night. I called the service line and 48 minutes later everything was fixed. Until I tried to get on Google. Whatever the guy did that was helping me it took Google off and I can't get it back on. Tried and tried. I'm going through Microsoft Edge, not liking it so much but it will do until I can get help from one of my kids.

DH and I took DS and wife's Christmas stocking stuffers and gifts to them since he can't be around anyone. He actually looks sick now.

No news on the GK front.

I think it's contagious. I have been like that today too. I did take down the outdoor lights and decorations since we got to almost 63 degrees. Made a pork loin with sauerkraut in the crock pot for dinner. Don has been watching football all afternoon. I was doing some writing while listening to the Patriots game in the background. They won their game, as did the Bucs, and Don's team , the Packers are winning the one on now so far. I am tired even though I didn't do much.

:wave:Good afternoon and evening, friends,

All is well here. I got to talk with a couple of friends and dad, and I are so thankful to be enjoying this day together. Earlier he was able to surprise the fire fighters at our closest fire station with some cookies. That was a blessing for both of us to be able to once again do🍪 We saw this Laptop in Target's weekly ad that looks exactly like what dad has been looking for. It has the same bigger screen size as the old laptop that will soon no longer be supported that he has had for years. He's going to return to Best Buy the newer laptop he got at the very end of October (it can be returned until January 14th) by mid-week. Once he has his money back, we will order the Asus 💻 from Target. I'm grateful we were able to find this option for him since I had a feeling, he would prefer a larger screen size to the new one has already. Otherwise, that is a great computer.

Extra hug to all and have a great rest of the day:grouphug:

I hope Jan. 2 brings better things than Jan. 1 for your son, daughter and grandkids.
All I can say about your former son in law is he's going to reap what he sows...and his children will remember his attempts to disrupt their lives years from now. Cold comfort I'm sure when your grandchildren belong home and aren't there. I'm sorry.

Happy New Year!

We went to Mass at Queen of the Universe this morning and I took a picture of the nearly life sized Nativity tableau. I do try to keep Christmas alive through Epiphany.

In Polish parishes the priest would visit each home and bless it and put the initials of the Magi on the door with the new year date. I will continue the tradition by using chalk to write 20 + K+ M + B + 23 on our door and ask Jesus to bless our house and family.

Well, no pork for dinner. Jack took a nap and woke up feeling nauseous. I fixed myself grilled cheese and tomato soup. He has what all the rest of the family had last week. I thought we had escaped it. Just a matter of time for me.

Watching the Ravens/Steelers game now.

DH and I decided to eat what we wanted to dinner tonight. He had tomato soup and crackers. I had a sub sandwich with Famous Daves Sweet and Spicy Pickles. They are sooooo good! Plus Cheetos. I also heated up a can of Bush's Black Eye Peas to eat for good luck.

I've been piddling most of the day. Washed a load of sheets. Time passed by real fast. DS and wife called to thank us for their presents and stocking stuffers. DH always puts scratch offs in the stockings. Between them and their two dogs they are $59 dollars richer. DSwife was the big winner at $50 dollars, DS wouldn't tell me if the dogs won anything, said it was community property. 😄 We'll have to wait until the GKs come home before we see if any of the rest of us win anything.

Good Morning. 34 degrees here and expected to warm up again to the 50s. I had tomato soup and baked grilled cheese last night for supper. Really enjoyed it as needed some good comfort food.

Kirby I hope everything gets settled with the GKs. I hope your DS feels better and can move along in his treatment plan.

@bobbiwoz The picture from the church is lovely.

@flyingdumbo127 Glad you could bring cookies to the fire fighters. I have an Asus laptop and love it. My DS recommended it to me as he has one too.

I am off to work now. I am not happy about working a holiday but have to be a team player. I will get another day off but it would have been nice to be able to get some stuff done around here today. Oh well.

Have a good day.

Good morning. 45 now going to 60 again. This is weird January weather for us. I have about 1/2 of a cold, and just feel blah. Only thing on my to do list is take the tree down, box up all the ornaments and put them back in the basement. I told Don he will be having leftovers tonight. We not only have pork from last night, but also pasta from the shrimp scampi, and the ham from Christmas. I did make some ham and pickle salad with that the other day, I was craving it. I am not a big ham person (it's his favorite though), and that's really the only thing I look forward to when we have a ham
Younger stepson called yesterday, and texted pics from the beach. They were in Ocean City (about 20 min from their house) and the beach was almost deserted. He sent a video of the waves, and the peaceful sound they were making, and it made me miss the ocean so much. Don called Summer, but got her voice mail and she never called him back. Oldest stepson had to work, as the restaurant had over 900 reservations for the day

@Kirby, continued prayers for your son and that your GK's get home safely, and soon

Have a nice day

Happy Monday everyone!

Today is the holiday for us so I'm off work today. Really not looking forward to going into the office tomorrow.

I will get another day off but it would have been nice to be able to get some stuff done around here today.
Hopefully you'll get another day off soon.

There was a day shift open today that I thought for a quick second to pick up, but then I knew I needed a day off. The extra money would have been nice but I worked Friday night and then Sunday day shift, I am exhausted. It's hard to switch from night shift to day shift that quick. I ended up going to bed last night at 9:00 and slept until 10:30 this morning. I think I was tired.

Glad most of you had a nice new year. Evan fixed some issues in the spare bedroom all day Saturday so I need to go clean up the mess today.

This week I'm going to eat what's in the freezer and cabinets for lunch and dinner. No going to the grocery store or out to eat. I'm very bad about doing that. Tonight I'll be eating chicken and flavored rice.

Time to go clean, have a great day!

Good morning.

Must be chicken night. I just got chicken out of the freezer to make for dinner. Put the pork in the freezer for another night. Jack is keeping down toast and jello so I thought chicken might be safer.

Putting away some Santas and kids books but not much. Watching the Rose Parade. Have any of you ever been to it? It's on the bucket list.

baked grilled cheese
How do you make that?

Cool and gray out but actually not too cold for January. 52 now.

You guys should head down in early May and enjoy some beach time during the week, weather is nice and crowds are lower.
This week I'm going to eat what's in the freezer and cabinets for lunch and dinner.
That's what I'm working on as well.
Jack is keeping down toast and jello so I thought chicken might be safer.
Hope he's feeling better soon, and you don't catch it!
Have any of you ever been to it?
Nope.

Thought I quoted Snowy, but it's missing: I'm curious about the baked grilled cheese as well, is there any special way you do it?

I'm off to lower/slower Delaware for a jobsite meeting in a few, have a good afternoon everyone.

Good morning!

Did a quick grocery order this morning in a different store and eggs were $3.99 instead of $5.50 this time. Stocked up on a few other things that I saw that were “reasonably” priced (even though I only went in for a couple of things). For supper doing rotisserie chicken, squash, mashed and Brussels sprouts. I bought a pot roast for tomorrow, going to brown it on the stove then cook it in the crock pot. I hope it comes out good.

I am also curious how to do the grilled cheese!

Lots and lots of sick people in the hospital this weekend, good grief! Be careful out there, there is so much going around, especially flu and GI illness. I am amazed none of us got sick in FL I’d been reading a lot of reports of illness here from people there and just back. Hopefully I stay well this week after this weekend of being around so many sick people (and one person with Influenza A coughing right in my face repeatedly).

Have a good day! 🐥
