Just a quick hello! Been busy with work and getting DH ready for surgery (foot).

Sorry to hear tough news here :grouphug: and happy for good news! :goodvibes

@Snowysmom Glad Joe is at peace. Sorry to hear about your son. (😬) Thinking of Joe’s sister. 🙏🏻

@Canadisney Fly Sorry to hear about your aunt. I hope no one else gets it! Sounds like you had a wonderful trip. Been on some of those rides, I know, the RR sort of blew my mind, too! When we went on it we were lucky to get through as it broke down right afterward. (Seems like those type rides are down a lot, same with Ratatouille from what DD said.) Avatar had been sold to me like Soarin’ on steroids (by DS). Funny story about when I rode it - it was the trip in 2020 when Disney was shutting down. We were in the last group that rode it before WDW closed. Park had closed but because we were in line we got to stay, but it was over an hour wait and super hot in line. Anyway, I like Soarin’ better! :lovestruc But some of the newer technology is really amazing! Great family pics, lovely family!

Sounds like Carol’s having a nice trip! Loved the pic of Carter!

@flyingdumbo127/QOTD: If you had asked me within the past few weeks I could’ve told you about some interesting dreams I had, but now I forget them. I also often have vivid dreams in the morning. In general I’m often in an old, familiar place, but something’s off about it, lol. And often with people I know or have known. Sometimes the dreams are comforting and other times they’re a little unsettling. Sometimes I’m in a strange mood when I wake up and I’m not sure why until a small tidbit from the dream comes back to me. Weird. I am pretty sure I had a dream of Mom again just in the last day or two. Nothing too vivid that I remember other than maybe in a golf cart or something, lol. I went through a period of having awful, scary dreams, and still have them on occasion but thankfully not often anymore. I think some of that was hormone-related, from what I’ve read.

Taz, I hope Crystal gets the job!

Have some office-type work I have to do, wishing everyone a nice day! 🐥

Good afternoon all.

I forgot with the story about the ring that where I found it had some meaning too. My grandmother passed away 20 years ago and I adored her. In her memory I planted a Bleeding Heart because she always liked them. The plant has grown significantly over the years and each spring when I see it green shoots and the flowers begin to bloom I feel her with me. I also believe in Butterflies being the spirits of loved ones and though my Butterfly Bush isn't doing well this year I saw a Butterfly this morning. I found the ring in the plant I have for my grandmother. I have been a little down lately worrying about the grandkids and my dad, and it was like she was sending me a message that all will be OK. She was my dad's mom and maybe it was a sign that she is watching over him and Crystal too. I would like to think so. I have always said that if I am even 1/10th the grandmother she was to me I am doing OK filling her shoes.

QOTD: I rarely remember my dreams. I suffer from night terrors, always have since I was a child, so I like it that way. The one dream I remember and have for 44 years was when my youngest brother was born. I woke up from a vivid nightmare that something had happened, and he and my mom didn't make it. Just as I woke up my dad knocked on my door to let me know he was taking my mom to the hospital. Talk about bad timing. Dad called once just to let me know she was in active labor. That was a lot from him since he didn't talk about those things with me. Dad came home about 1 in the afternoon, threw it's a boy card on the table and started crying. Now I was really freaking out. My mom had a hard time, and my brother was in fetal distress. Turned out the cord was wrapped around his neck a few times so mom had an emergency c-section. Dad just needed to decompress. Thankfully they both survived, and my brother was fine, but it was the weirdest dream I ever had.

Have a good afternoon. I am taking a break from ancestors and working on pictures.

@TazDev Interesting story about the ring. Glad you found it.

@Canadisney Fly How fortunate that were able to help out with the people in the car accident.

@lynxstch I hope you are feeling better and Mr L does not get the cold too badly.

Summer colds are all over the place this year. I have a couple of friends who are dealing with summer colds now too.

We have the arrangements ready for Joe. I wrote the obituary and younger DS proof read it and made suggestions. I think we came up with a really nice tribute to Joe. Tonight younger DS and I are going to Joe's apt to get clothes and pictures for the service and dropping them off at the funeral home. I feel like I have been texting all day. I worked today but probably ended up spending a fair amount of time texting and on the phone with family and the funeral home. I feel bad for Chris' and Joe's cousin. He is so upset at losing 2 cousins in less than a year. He has cancer so he is ill too. The nursing home staff does not believe that Joe's sister is up to going to his funeral. I trust their judgment as I really don't know her well and have not seen her in a while. From what Joe was saying she is not doing well. But she does love chocolate so I am going to keep sending it to her just like Joe did. Older DS is bringing his iPad so he can stream the wake and services to those who cannot make it.

We were able to change our flight to Disney. We now leave at 6 am. Yikes! I will be staying with older DS so we will have be driving down the Mass Pike by 3:45 am. We will pack the car the night before and just carry the kids to the car and strap them in the car seats so they can sleep. I am paying for airport parking so we can make it easy on ourselves. I am used to leaving for Disney on this flight as Chris and I always left on the first flight out for the day so we could hit the parks by noon. It will be a different trip without Chris and with all the grandkids. But, I know Chris will be with us. He wouldn't miss it.

QOTD I don't really dream alot but maybe I just forget them. Plus I don't sleep well. The last one I remember is the only one I have had with Chris in it. I think what brought the dream on was that I had thrown my cell phone across the room at my DS's house as I was so stressed about selling the house. In the dream Chris and I were watching the 2 DGDs. I had a mug of coffee and it leaked all over me. So I threw the mug across the yard. Chris looked at me and said, "Don't do that. Everything will be OK." The dream ended with that.

Have a nice evening.

Love your share, Taz! I admit to not being much of a butterfly person in terms of the image on stuff except those dearer to me. God's real living butterflies are a miracle indeed! I'm glad you are taking a break to get some extra rest 🌺

Extra :hug:Snowysmom. I actually just finished reading an older Love Inspired Book called The Risk of Loving It's a compassionate story of faith, loving families, including some pets, and how truly God turns all of our sorrow into joy when we recognize it as a blessing from Him and allow Him to do so completely within us. I would have gotten comfort from in it during my grandma's life as she had Dementia whereas the mother of the main female character had fuller Alzheimer's. A preview of some of the pages can be seen from the link. The copy I have is not in the best of condition. On a couple pages, there is some red markings like a crayon perhaps. It is, of course, clean and very readable. I always have as a requestor condition on Paperback swap (where I got the book from) that any books sent to me must be in clean, good condition and come from a smoke free home! Let me know if you (or any of all of you, for that matter) would like it.

Son called to say DDiL is having some contractions and is 2 or 3 cm dilated. She had her 40 week appointment earlier today. He's hoping Baby XX comes tonight. Due date is tomorrow and will be induced on Friday if Baby XX doesn't show by then.

@Judique Sending best wishes for a healthy delivery and beautiful healthy new grandbaby for you. How exciting.

@flyingdumbo127 Thank you for the book suggestion. Once things settle down I will take a look at it.

It is cloudy this morning but supposed to be sunny a bit later with highs in the upper 70s. Younger DS and I got everything to the funeral home and the services are all set for Saturday. We picked a lovely picture for the website obituary with Joe and his mother and sister. It really shows the love between the 3 of them. Tomorrow we are working on some posterboards for the wake.

Off to work and coffee. It is my day to go into the new office after I finish working to pick up checks. No idea when we will actually be able to go into the office to work. My guess is after Labor Day.

Have a good day.

Oooh, how exciting, @Judique! Do keep us posted. :cheer2:

I forgot to answer the dream question. Generally, I don't like to dream (or rather, be aware that I'm dreaming - I guess we dream more than we know) because it makes me feel less well-rested when I wake up. Last night, I dreamed about setting up my college dorm room and a random workspace. :rotfl: I'm sure it's related to DS heading off for another semester in a few days. Just yesterday, he was showing me some pictures he bought for his room.

Huge :grouphug: Grandma soon to be, Judique! Excited for you, my friend. Prayers for a safe delivery! I look forward to reading a post from you tomorrow celebrating the birth of your newest grandchild. God Bless all of you!

Sweet Dreams to all.
Thanks for the hugs!

Yes, I am excited! But, so sorry to read about your son's marriage and the death of Chris's cousin. Life certainly goes in cycles. I'm always interested in reading about our friends in Massachusetts as I have many cousins up there that unfortunately I do not keep up connections with. In my mind it's not broken ties, just that life is so full of stuff we can't do it all.

My son went to school in Boston for a semester 19? years ago. My 2 girls went to school locally - Univ of Maryland in College Park and Baltimore, so actually 'leaving' only happened that one semester for me. He also returned and enrolled locally. But, I remember us setting up his room and then bringing all that stuff home. So much stuff! When I went to college we didn't have the luxuries of computers, refrigerators, microwaves in our rooms! So different now.

Thanks all for the good wishes! I've been reading rather spottily - is that a word? Anyway, Son texted from the hospital last night at 2:30am that they were there, and hooked to a monitor. He said they were going to keep them until 4am and if nothing happened, go home. So far, haven't heard anything this morning so assuming they are home sleeping as I'm sure if still at the hospital, son would have texted.

Dreams. I've had some doozies over the years. Some, where I've woken up so startled and some, where I didn't want the dream to end. But I really don't connect to dreams now that I've grown older. I'm sure I have them but they don't linger in my mind.

Good morning everyone! :flower:

Temperatures are back to being in the high 80's with humidity :scared:, no rain in sight until Friday night.

Since I took a vacation day yesterday I made sure I got some things done instead of sitting around the house. After I finally woke up at 11:30, I decided to head out to Best Buy to see if they could look at my computer :surfweb:. I could log in but then nothing. I really don't use it anymore, I just needed to get Ds1's wedding pictures saved to a flash drive. They wanted $100 to look at it. I called DIL and she said that she has them saved to a flash drive that I could use. Got home and tried the computer again and sure enough it started up and I was able to get them saved. This weekend I'll start working on getting them moved over to Shutterfly so I can get some printed.

After Best Buy, I had my oil changed. Then went and got gas for the car :car:. Then stopped at Kohl's and returned something from Amazon. Passed the military surplus store and stopped in to see if they had any boots in Ds3's size (no used boots, just new, he actually likes the used boots better). I bought him a new pair of Carthardt boots for Xmas this past year and they are already falling apart. He just sent me pictures of the boots and I'm going to contact the company about them. These boots shouldn't be falling apart already, paid way too much money for them 💸.

When I run errands, I like to do everything in one trip so I make sure I hit everything on that route. I knew there was a cheaper gas station in that area vs. the stations in my neighborhood so I made sure to fill the car up. I hate wasting gas and I like to get everything done in one trip.

Didn't do anything last night except pull some weeds out front 🌱. I did take the dogs for a short walk before I did my errand run 🐶:dog:.

Tonight I'll head out to Ds1's soccer game so I at least have that to do ⚽. That's it for me, have a great day!:sunny:

Good morning all--temps climbing again starting today.
@Judique Hoping for a new grandbaby for you very soon!
@Pea-n-Me prayers for your husband and his surgery

Mr L is feeling a little better this morning. We wondered why his PCP never called him back yesterday (of course he never listened to me when I told him to call them back before they closed for the day). Last nite he noticed he had a voicemail on his phone,,they had called around 2, but his phone never rang. We checked his ringer and the volume and there is no way we wouldn't have heard it not ringing. Every now and then we get weird ones like that. He is calling them back as soon as they open.

I need to mow sometime soon, and the handyman is supposed to come back today and put the 3 trim pieces on the inside, and cut and finish the shed ramp. Hopefully he got hold of the gutter company yesterday. We are running out of time to have him do it!

Have a nice day everyone...
Along with today's disney picture, I have to wish my favorite celebrity a happy 46'th birthday with one of my favorite pics of him!! Happy Birthday Alex!!

Good morning everyone.

@Judique - Hope you get some baby news soon.

Quiet day planned here. My grandson Jay is 24 today. It's hard to believe that I have a grandson that old. He was the first grandchild and is such an amazing man. I could gush on forever. He is supposed to stop by today and finish the couple little things that need to be done in the bathroom and then we start planning the garage wall. He wants to get that done before the winter sets in.

My husband is at a funeral so it is a quiet morning here. May head down the shore tomorrow before the kids all head back to school.

Have a great day.

🙏for a safe baby delivery report to come, Judique! Excited for you:grouphug:

I'm so glad Mr. L is feeling better, Lynn. I certainly hope he gets some doctor answers this morning!🌼

I will send you the book 📕plus another cute story, Snowysmom. Continued extra 🕊️and prayer to you, my friend.

PollyannaMom, big :hug:to you, mom! Much 🙏for your son to have a safe and great school year!

You are a smart shopping planner, Footballmouse:car:Especially right now during Covid, making multiple trips is not a safe or smart idea! I hope you have fun at your DS ⚽game and that he does well, too.

:bday:to Jay, Taz! Hug to you, grandma, always, too!

🙏 for your DH, Pea and continuing extra loving prayers for Frog and her kids and Kirby and her grandkids!

Carol and B&B, right now may you both be having FUN:grouphug:to both of you!

Dad is soon headed to his doctor's appointment. Next week is my dentist appointment. The week after, dad has another medical visit. I would appreciate extra prayers for safety and especially for dad, ease of appointments and good results. Thank you all with all my ❤️

Dr told Mr L to just take OTC stuff if he felt he needed it. They don't want to prescribe anything, because sometimes it interferes with his other meds. He seems to be much better than yesterday. My Sister in law and niece were going grocery shopping, so they picked me up a few things, and stopped and picked up my scrips at CVS so I didn't have to go out and leave him alone (just in case). They also stopped and bought Mr L breakfast sandwich's from McDonald's as a treat. (I don't do breakfast so I passed). Then they stopped at a farm stand,,and brought me a huge purple fall mum, to put next to our new front door. I am so grateful to have these 2 in my life :)

I just finished mowing,,it's 82 and starting to get warm out. Calling for humid the next few days, so I wanted it done now.

Stepdaughter having more health issues. More and more issues keep coming up and they have no clue what is causing it. They got her an emergency appt in Morgantown for tomorrow with a gastrointerologist to see if they can come up with any ideas. Then she is seeing a cardiologist for EKG, echo, etc. She has weird bumpy growths near the middle of both elbows that they want to biopsy, and bone spurs on her feet. She is having knee issues, her hands both hurt, she is having digestive issues etc. Oh, and a growth on her lung they need to look at. We have been telling her for years to quit smoking, but some people never learn! If you can spare a few prayers for her it would be greatly appreciated.

Off to cool down and relax

Mid-afternoon thread save!

We did start watching Kiss at Pine Lake. Too early to really give a fair review. The camp is sure located in a perfect woodsy setting. It made me a bit wistful that I never did go to sleepaway camp, only day camp. Honestly, in memory, I would not have wanted to do so as a younger child. I did go to a week-long Sierra Club retreat the summer before my senior year in HS. I enjoyed that tremendously. The church I was active in pre pandemic is part of a regional local camp that did offer to kids long weekends. That would have been perfect for me to have tried out. I would love loved the church aspects of it and a brief change of scene would have done me a lot of good. With that, my thanks again to Carol, for all you do for your own church's summer camp! I hope right now you are having an enjoyable Disney evening!

:grouphug:to all.

Quick save from near the bottom if the page.

@Judique - any baby news???

I do have a request for prayers though. My daughters BFF, who I regard as my daughter from another mother, needs them Her husband was in a serious accident at work today and he broke both his legs in several places. He needs surgery in the morning unless they can't get the pressure down in his right leg. He is diabetic so that complicates things. Please say a prayer for him and the doctors who will be treating him that the surgeries are successful and he is back on his feet quickly.

Thanks all and have a good night
