Good morning all

@PollyannaMom--same for our weather..90 today, 95 tomorrow and 93 on Sunday. It rained again overnite

@Snowysmom --will be thinking of you today and hoping the move goes smoothly
@Breezy_Carol and @footballmouse --I am glad Jonathan is still on Survivor. Romeo needs to go, Lindsey needs to go , and annoying Mary Ann needs to go. I like Mike, but would rather Jonathan win, though I doubt he will win. It's always the ones we think do nothing and yet make it to the end,,so I am hoping that isn't the case for Romeo

Wanting to mow the lawn before it gets too hot, but everything is still wet from the rain. Stepdaughter got her car back. They told her it was the battery terminals, that they cleaned them and everything is fine. I am not buying their explanation. It didn't take almost 5 weeks and over 15 hours of labor to find that problem. If a car won't start, you check the battery, terminals, starter and alternator first??? She says its still not 100%, and she's thinking of selling it now while it still runs and buying something else. Then she will just end up with someone else's problems, since all she can afford is used cars, and only from private sellers. Someday she will learn!

Have a great Friday everyone

I'm so glad you got to enjoy such a nice day, Carol🚂 Aw, poor Carter! I would not have liked the loud noise either (especially with my jaw issues). Wow you got some great shopping bargains! Get some rest today.

Yikes, Footballmouse. Stay dry and safe! I don't watch Survivor. I hope whoever you (and any other Quacker) hopes makes it will :)

Please send some of your sun to me, PollyannaMom and Lynn!

Thinking of you, Snowysmom and keeping you in extra prayer! From Snoopy the Musical I was thinking of this song earlier today and wanted to share especially with you. Remember, my friend, we all do believe in you! More than that, forever, God believes in you and is forever with you with love. Chris, is, too, by His Grace.

Love to all and I'll check back later.

Happy Friday all.... sorry to just disappear for so long. I just needed an internet break. I posted a couple things on Instagram, which then shares to Facebook but other than that I've haven't been online much. I've been feeling down and the break didn't help like I thought it might so I'm back... Was also out of town with DH for work and ended up staying longer than we were supposed to. I guess because I wasn't really feeling it this time, felt like we were gone for way longer than we actual were. It felt good to get home with DD and our boy(the dog...lol)

I'm going to try and skim though to see what I've missed.... I've still been thinking about you all...

Hola everyone.

I am sending out a hearty welcome to this upcoming weekend. We have LOTS to do (planting 18 trees) that will transform the yard instantly because they are so big. It's going to be warmwarmwarmwarm and I can't wait to head home this afternoon and just take a moment to sit out on the porch with the humid breeze hitting me. I think it's about 88 now, and supposed to be 94 tomorrow - but we'll see if it actually gets that high. I was going to go to a Scottish Festival that is up the road from us (Carol are you going? It's at Fair Hill) but these trees fell into our lap and we weren't about to turn them down. Plus we have more fence to remove. I've already gone to the grocery store and the beer store, so short of popping into the farmers market first thing in the AM to pick up my seafood order, I'll probably be home all weekend.
Not sure what's for super this evening-
Have a good weekend everyone.

Around 11, it got pitch black outside..winds came out of nowhere, as did pouring rain, thunder and lightening. 2 seconds after the rain started, our power went out. I called and reported it, then ran around shutting windows and doors. There was a tornado watch/warning, but luckily they didn't appear. Storm lasted about 20 minutes..sun is out now and temp is climbing. They had said elec would be restored by 3:20,,but it came back on at 1:10..thankfully! At least I no longer have to worry about mowing today, it's too wet out there, lol!

Going to make homemade naan pizza's for dinner,

For mine, I am trying this recipe as I have shredded rotisserie chicken on hand. Strawberry Balsamic Pizza with Chicken, Sweet Onion and Applewood Bacon. Mr L wants just chorizo and cheese on his. I made coleslaw earlier (just before the power went out). Mr L is sound asleep, so I am going to sit and watch a couple of Hawaii 5-O's..gotta get my Alex fix one way or another :P. I still haven't gotten over that they cancelled that show, and now I have to get over Magnum Pi being cancelled too :(. -Still waiting for the movies I bought that he has been in to get here from ebay. I ordered the complete season of Three Rivers (which I don't recall ever seeing on tv), and the complete series of The Shield. Also got the complete series of Moonlight, which is the first show I ever saw him in and that started my obsession, I don't care if I am 'old',,he's hot, lol! Also got The Back up Plan, The Oyster Farmer ,,and Mary Bryant. That just leaves 3 oddball ones, that I am not even sure are worth watching. All of those will give me something to watch when everything starts turning into reruns. Mr L said get whatever I wanted, so I did, lol!

Have a nice afternoon all..stay alert out to the East of us..still have tornado watches and warnings out your way!

Thanks for the well wishes for the move. The move is done. The movers were quick, courteous, and efficient. I will highly recommend this company. It was funny when they pulled up to the condo complex and parked in front. An old man outside yelled at the movers and told them they couldn't park there was people needed to move their cars. All I could think is, Do I really want to live here with this guy yelling? I saw him yesterday too. I think he is the crabby, noisy neighbor everyone stays away from. I went to the office to find out where the movers could unload and told her an old man yelled at them. She apologized and I think she knew exactly who. I did cry alot at the house. I also yelled at Chris. My friend from work tells me Chris is giggling at me when I do that. He probably is but I mean every word I say. It is sad. I have to go back to the house tomorrow and maybe Sunday. Older DS is taking down my security system to reinstall at the condo as well as the doorbell at the house. I have to vacuum. After they moved the dressers and book shelves, there is dust all over the place near the wall. Younger DS came to the condo when the movers were there and helped direct. He also put up my curtain rod and curtains at the balcony doors. I have to buy 2 more curtain panels as 2 panels were not enough and I like the color and weight. Older DS is also putting my TV on the wall and setting it up since verizon has installed what they needed yesterday. I am so tired. I know I am emotionally, mentally, and physically exhausted and do not have any reserves left. I actually managed to empty about 8 boxes today. I also agonized yesterday over where to put items in the cabinets. It is just too mentally challenging for me. I finallyfigured out every day dishes near the dishwasher, coffee and tea near the coffee maker and kettle. The pots and pans underneath. And just throw the rest wherever.

Tomorrow DDIL will be induced. She went really quickly with DGS and they don't want that to happen again. I can't wait to see the baby's picture and find out his name. Again, I will cry but I do alot of that anyway. I will visit them when they come home.

Have a nice evening.

Thanks for planting so many trees🌳Easyas. What kind (not that I much know the difference) are they? I sure hope you get some rest squeaked into your busy weekend ahead to enjoy the sunshine.

Wow, Lynn! PLEASE stay safe, my friend! I am pretty sure my grandma enjoyed watching Magnum PI. I know she loved Hill Street Blues. I hope you enjoy your new DVD's and am so glad you treated yourself to them 📀

:grouphug:Snowysmom. I am so very grateful the move is now behind you! Praise God! Much prayer that even over the next week, you already begin to feel lighter. Much love to you and prayers for a healthy mom and baby tomorrow, too!

Yuck! Got up to 93 today and it was nasty outside. It's 10:30 pm and it still feels like 86, the humidity is 62% and the dew point is 69. If the wind wasn't blowing it would be downright unbearable. This is July/August weather, way too soon.

Lou Lou had her first swimming lesson today. She conquered putting her face in the water real easily.

The kids are off with their dad for the weekend. It's already too quiet.

I watched this weeks episode of Survivor this evening. Was happy with who left. My favs are Johnathan and Mike.

One more episode of This Is Us. My DVR cut off the last five minutes of it so I ended up watching it On Demand.

Good night everyone, I'm off to bed. I hope to catch up on some rest and sleep this weekend.

Been busy the last few days. I’m not going to remember details from everyone I wanted to comment on, but hugs to those who need them, especially Auntie and Snowysmom. 🤗

Today is our big day. Rescue sent me pics from arrival, dog is pretty scared. He’s been through a lot. (Owner died, he was in a shelter, then foster home, then took a two day ride up from the south, had to see the vet here, and is quarantining somewhere - I don’t even know where, but it’s local - for two days.) So plans are for a mellow day just taking him home and getting to know him a bit, helping him feel like he can finally settle, etc. Praying that he and Toto get along well.

Am out with the cat before it gets too hot, and it already feels "misty".
I know, I was joking w foster mom that dog is going to feel right at home with temps being in the high 90s today!

DH and DS took me along for a boat ride last night. Was expecting a serene, peaceful ride but got a very wet and bumpy one instead! They didn’t even get to fish as it was too choppy. Can’t say I minded! (They do catch and release, but still!) It does seem silly since we came home and made cod for dinner. 🤔 They caught some cod last week but threw them back also because they were too small and you’re supposed to put them back when they’re like that. It was reassuring to me to see DS in action as a very responsible boat driver, as I tend to worry when they go out.

Idk what’s going on with the weather here but we’ve still had the heat on this week, and now it’s going to be crazy hot today and tomorrow. Ugh! Why can’t we just have 70-80’s for a while before getting August temps! 🥵

Will touch base later on! 🐥 paw:

Can't wait to see dog pictures when you get your dog!

@Snowysmom - glad your move is behind you for the most part. One thing about moving is you get to clear out your stuff. I really miss that part of moving and having a newer and cleaner house meaning fewer possessions.

@easyas123 - Scottish Festival would have been fun but it's going to be too warm for me today. But I would have loved to see the highland dancing, listen to the music and check out any food options. Maybe I'll watch for it next year.

I did get my lawn mowed (mostly) yesterday. No rain here during the day but it got hot enough that we turned on the air. First time this year. By evening I was feeling too cool and shut it down. DD has it on upstairs as it gets hotter up there, so we have a separate unit for that but the central is cold downstairs and I set it at 74. Then moved it to 76.

I have some Astilbe to plant somewhere. On sale at Costco along with 2 raspberry vines. Bought without a plan....

I see the surgeon on Monday for my left arm/elbow. It continues to bother me at night. I put this off for too long as usual hoping it would go away. It didn't.

Still too many ticks outside. have to shower as soon as I come in. And the ants are back so I picked up the product to put along my sink and counter before they get too aggressive. Could have called and scheduled Orkin under my contract but for the small amount of the product it wasn't worth inconveniencing me or them. Plus I have a 4 times a year contract, reducing from the original and if I call too often I'm sure they would want to come back to the original contract price. $15 isn't worth it.

Everybody enjoy your weekend! Doubt I'm going to catch up as I missed a lot of pages and just read a bit on this page today,

Good morning and welcome to the heat wave day 2. It is already 72, going to mid 90's. Going to put good sunscreen on around 10 and get out and mow before it gets too hot. The storms yesterday kind of put that plan off for the day. Still no call from about my riding mower, will be calling them Monday morning.

Have stripped and remade the bed, have sheets in the washer now. Decided on dinner, then went out and watered my tomato plants that are in the greenhouse, cleaned and refilled the bird baths and feeders, and put fresh water in the outdoor gravity water feeder I put out for the cats in the summer.

I agree that it's way too early to have hot weather like this. The high school in town has graduation today, and they had to quickly move it from outside to inside for the ceremony. At least they are using their heads and not risking anyone getting sunstroke!
@Kirby, my tivo tends to cut things off sometimes too, so any show I think might need it, I always give it an extra 10 minutes when I set it. For weekends when it's golf or football..I run them over 1 1/2 hours just to be safe.
@Pea-n-Me I know that dog will have the best home ever. I hope he can settle in quickly and realize that he has a furever home with you!

Have a good day,,stay cool everyone!

Good Morning.

I have been AWOL so will try again to go back and read all the comments at some point this weekend. Hope everyone is well though.

@Pea-n-Me Good luck with the dog. I am sure once he feels the love he will be a great addition to your family. Many years ago I adopted an older dog whose owner had passed away and no one wanted her. She only lived about 2 years with us but she was so much fun and a great escape artist. My back yard is odd in that it butts up against 2 yards to one side, 5 on the other side and 7 behind me. She managed to escape my fenced in yard and go for strolls in the neighborhood even at the grand age of 10. She taught my Husky how to escape and we found him a block over sitting on the corner crying because he was lost. He never escaped again, she did as often as possible.

@easyas123 - to bad you are passing on the Scottish Festival. I know two of the performers that will be there - Charlie Zahm and Tad Marks. I have toured Scotland with them 3 times. Great musicians.

My life has been hectic. My husband has done well from the surgery and is healing. Unfortunately he had a small scratch that turned into a HUGE wound on his shin. Thankfully it is healing and my daughter and daughter in law come over every day to change the dressings and keep me updated on how it's progressing. I have a very weak stomach for these things and they don't want me vomiting on his leg.

The house is coming along. The wall is finally repaired and we hung a few pictures so that was an improvement. The house feels more like a home again and not a box.

Our cruise is in 7 weeks from today. It is a good thing I start to get OCD about now. The airlines changed our flights both ways. My nonstop to Seattle now has me going to Chicago and changing planes. It also leaves 2 hours earlier than before so now I have to be at the airport at 4 AM. The flight home has stayed nonstop from Seattle but instead of leaving at 11:30 AM and getting home at 7:10 PM, we are leaving at 11:30 PM and getting home at 7:10 AM. This means I have 12 hours to kill in Seattle, either at the airport or a couple hours in the city. I also chose seats in the 1st row, treated us to 1st class, and the one flight put us back several rows and I need to try and get them changed. Of course the cruise line has changed the itinerary a few times so that has not been fun either. We will be on the cruise for our anniversary so I had these shirts made
PXL_20220518_222003662 copy.jpg

We plan to wear them the day of our anniversary.

I will try and catch up later today. Going to be a bit warm here so I am staying in the AC as much as possible.

Hello to all Quackers,

We have cloudy skies today and cooler temps with some wind. I think there is a chance of rain off and on.

@tazdev3225 very cute shirts. Have a great time on your cruise.

@Snowysmom I hope you were able to get some rest last night. Moving is exhausting in itself. Add all the other factors you have going on and I'm sure it's beyond overwhelming. I'm sure the new grand baby will be a welcome distraction for you. Can't wait to hear his name.

@Pea-n-Me Can't wait to see pictures and find out what you name the new dog. I hope the adjustment goes well for him and Toto.

@bobbiwoz WOOT on having your last treatment. Prayers you continue to have good news with check-ups and such.

Things here are pretty much the same. The house that I may be moving into is moving along as far as getting a date that I can start moving stuff. I can't actually move myself until we have mediation, so I just keep my head down and wait. This whole process is really just a bunch of hurry up and wait. It's very frustrating. To add to the stress, one of our dogs passed away on Thursday. So sad and our other outside dog definitely misses him. My kids want to get another outside dog, but of course, that will be up to my husband since I won't be here that much longer.

I have to take my kids to a birthday party at noon and then we have a graduation party tonight. I went to one last night and it was almost too much for me, too many people and I still feel awkward/embarrassed about what is going on in my life. I think I've stated before but, I live in a VERY small town and everyone knows what is going on in everyone else's life. Sometimes that is a blessing and at times like this it is a curse. I know deep down I don't have anything to be embarrassed about (I didn't initiate this or cheat) but it's still hard. Hopefully tonight will be a bit better.

Continued prayers and good thoughts to all who need them, there are definitely many in our group that are fighting some hard battles.

Has anyone heard from sweatpeama recently? I often wonder and sometimes worry about her. I know life just gets busy and I hope she is doing well and just doesn't have time to post anymore.

Take care all and have a good Sat.

@frog3101 --I haven't seen sweetpeama on here in a long time, haven't seen Love My Goofy, who is the one who started this whole thread. I hope all of our MIA Quackers are healthy and happy, and just busy with real life

Its already 87 degrees outside, at least there's a breeze every now and then. I weedwacked the whole yard, and just finished mowing it. Cleaned off the mower, and I am DONE for the day!
