@lynxstch I am sad your stepdaughter is suffering so.

@Judique what wonderful plans, a small garden house to watch wildlife!

I do pray for my Disboards friends here and your intentions. I still am waiting for end of radiation on my cheek, and waiting to learn about reverse shoulder replacement.

@Snowysmom I am glad you have Park reservations! October is such a great time to go to WDW. I especially love harvest pumpkins.

Good morning.

DD called yesterday and apparently DSIL has had a rough 2 weeks at school, just standardized testing and so many teachers out with COVID unable to get substitutes. She has a baby shower to attend this afternoon and asked if she could drop the kids here so he could have some kid-free down time. We have no plans so, of course, said yes. Otherwise, no plans.

I am helping him navigate the new World of Disney World. He wonders how anyone can really do this planning and just how many people show up at the park unaware of how much you need to plan ahead. You just need to educate yourself I guess.
We have been to WDW with DH and the kids in 1992, 1996, 2000, and 2004. DD and I went in 2006 and DH and I have been there for one or two days at a time on various trips to Fort Myers. That said, we have experience but planning for our trip in August is daunting and I am so glad DD is taking the lead. No spontaneity. We already have all the parks picked for each day. And as soon as we can, we will book dining. I am sure it will be fun but so different. DD's in-laws have never been to Florida so she is planning everything and just telling them.

So many birds singing outside. @Judique , love your green house, sanctuary, she-shed. Maybe you could get shelves at IKEA.

Was a little shaken up this morning, pretty sure I drove by a fatal accident. 😲 It was bad. Then I felt awful for being irritated about sitting in traffic for 40 minutes. It’s all really relative, isn’t it? Ugh. The person had to be going very fast.

@Judique, I’ve been meaning to say, we’d love to see a pic of your Yorkie, and other pets! Glad you liked the Old Man in the Mountain pics! It is beautiful country up there.
@PollyannaMom I love the way you take your cats outside! I’ve been seeing lots of ‘cats going outside’ on IG and I think of you! Do you see them too? One guy goes all over the place with his three cats! The other day he had them in NYC!

I had a dream about you guys… and our new dog! Don’t ask me what it was about now, but I know you were in it! :lmao: And the dog was really nice!

Sounds like some nice WDW trips coming up for you guys! We don’t have a trip in the works right now, but DD is going next month with her bf so I’m living vicariously through her (and some other friends who are there now). She’s got the whole thing figured out, pretty much. (I know they’re spending extra to get on certain rides. 😬) He just graduated from his master’s program, and she’s almost halfway done with hers, but she’ll be taking a month off so she can enjoy herself, which will be her first break since she started last summer. They’ve both been working really hard so I’m glad to see them get away. DS is taking his national test today, and he has one more coming up. 🤞🏻We are all excited about the dog coming home later this month.

Sorry to hear about your stepdaughter’s situation, Lynn. I hope they can figure out what’s going on. 😥

@footballmouse I had to laugh at your post, because I ordered dog biscuits off of Amazon the other day myself, too! We were out of them and I knew it might be a few days before I could get to the store, so I said, hey, why not, and they came the next day! Not bad! I had so many things coming from Amazon I couldn’t keep track of them. I also found some Disney Nurse pins for Nurse’s Week. Forget trying to get them at Disney, they’re always gone. (A friend who works there keeps an eye out for me.)

@flyingdumbo127 That was nice of you to share your cookies with the less fortunate. I’m sure they enjoyed them! I love homemade sugar cookies! Yum! We were telling DD’s boyfriend the other night about one trip we had to NYC where we brought sandwiches for the homeless. This was many years ago. We’d felt so bad on our previous trip that we thought it might be a good idea, and it was. (Though today it seems a little more dangerous.) DD was driving by a homeless encampment the other night and she saw two people doing CPR on another person. First responders were just getting there. Rough week in our neck of the woods, I guess.

I like hearing about your plantings. DH has been working on ours. I know he got all the herbs done, and was working on flowers today. My rose bushes that he planted for me last year survived the winter. They’re still small, but I can’t wait to see them bloom next month! It’s a beautiful day here, in the high 70s, finally! Enjoy the weekend, all! 🐣

We are already at 75, so my guess is it's going to get warmer. Full sun right now, no sign of rainclouds. I just planted my rosemary plant into a big pot, did 2 pots of flowers for the deck tables, and planted my wheelbarrel planter. Next is herbs, I just got the boxes out of the shed and washed them down. Going to plant them now. Oregano, catnip, 2 kinds of basil, cilantro, and chives. I found some of the oregano from last year already up and growing in the compost pile out back,,so I will put that in a separate pot.
I love hearing about all of your trips planned, wish we could do that,,but I can't see Mr L ever being in good enough health for a trip :(

Back to work for me!

Happy Saturday! :dogdance:

Judique - I am soooooo jealous of you! First it sounds like you have an awesome greenhouse in the works. How cool would that be to have. Probably very relaxing to just sit out there to chill out. And then, your Disney plans :earboy2:!! Would love to be able to stay at all those nice resorts. I haven't been down since 2018 and it's killing me not to be able to go. I've come to the realization that when I do go, it will most likely be a solo trip which I would be very nervous to do. I think that I would get a little lonely. I'd like to go by myself and do the Keys to the Kingdom tour, that's a bucket list item for me. :smickey:

Nice day outside so far. Predicting rain for later today :umbrella:. I was out back doing more painting and I could hear a lot of lawnmowers going in the neighborhood. I guess everyone is trying to beat the rain.

Going to try to get a few more things done this afternoon before my pre-work nap. Have a great day! :thumbsup2

Huge hug:grouphug:, dear Lynn and much prayer for your stepdaughter and you and Mr. L, of course, too as you both support her! I also love your morning picture as always :)

:hug:to you as well, Judique. I can hear the joy in your greenhouse and flower planning. 🌸 I do look forward to seeing pictures. I hope you are able to travel again at a time that works for you. And, no, you absolutely should not take on everything! A trip especially should be FUN! I hope you have a lot of fun on your next WDW, too!

:hug:Snowysmom. Staples sometimes will offer a shredding coupon or even free shredding up to a certain # of pounds. Dad recently brought stuff to shred to our closest Staples. What was so kind is that dad didn't have to pay anything! He had gone to staples I believe on a Monday morning. He was told the shredding company only comes out on Thursdays. But that everything dad brought would be stored in a locked box of some sort until Thursday and then securely shredded. That worked out so well. Please do let the movers do their job of moving! I am just so thankful you do have a WDW trip in the works! Much prayer that indeed will be a wonderful trip all-around.

Thank you Bobbiwoz, always for your care and prayers for us all. We are all keeping you in prayer!

Prayers for your DSIL, Carol and of course, a  to you. I absolutely commend all teachers extra right now, that is for sure! Wow you are planning a WDW, trip, too. I'm glad to hear that the details aren't being left upon you either. Have fun!
I love that you had a dream about us and your new dog, Pea:dogdance: Prayers he indeed brings you and your family a whole lot of fun and good new memories. It's never easy seeing such an accident :( Well, the next time you are out my way let me know and I will bake you some sugar cookies! That would be a pleasure :)

Your post just slipped in, Footballmouse! I truly hope you do get to enjoy a Keys of the Kingdom experience one day indeed! ::MickeyMo

It's a lovely 🌞Saturday morning here. I'm not cold in the least, hooray, what a blessing. Dad and I finished doing our rainbow birthday cake puzzle. Would any of you like it? I'd be happy to send it to a fellow Quacker so you can enjoy doing it with someone in your family. My only word of caution is that the pieces easily come apart! They are sturdy but don't stick together all that well when you're building more of the puzzle. PM me if you'd like it :)

Wishing all of you a Happy Saturday.

Was debating mowing the lawn, but we had a brief thunderstorm that got everything wet again. So I moved everything out of the kitchen and gave the floor a good vacuuming and then swiffer wet jetted it clean. Threw the rugs in the washer, then moved on to the master bath and did the same thing there. When I go downstairs I will clean the other bathroom when putting the rugs in the dryer. Already washed the bathroom rugs so they are ready to go back down. I am watching my pain in the butt neighbor and smiling to myself. Now he's digging out around his 'shed' to move it back 3 feet,,which will be 3 feet over on our property, just like his fence is. As soon as he's got it all settled, the surveyor will be out and remark the property lines, and he will have to be moving that shed back to his side, and taking the fence down and moving that over too. I am done dealing with him..just biding our time. We know where the property markers are (were), we took pictures of all of them when we moved here, and we have the property marked on our deed. So we are positive where the lines are,,and he's crossed them once again (after moving 2 of the markers, which is illegal and we reported it to the county). They told us to call them when we have it surveyed and they will send someone out to put more permanent markers down and make the neighbor move his 'replanted' ones. Does he think we are dumb? NOT! I am done with chores except swiffering the other bathroom, then I am taking a long hot bath, doing my hair, and relaxing in the bath for awhile.

I am jealous of Judique's Disney plans too. I am thinking of maybe trying a solo trip next year and the idea of doing the Keys to the Kingdom tour is great. I will try out being by myself in the parks on the family trip. The kids and grandkids will go back to the pool alot and I may stay in the parks or go in the evening by myself. It will be interesting to see how it will work out and if I feel too lonely.

Lynn you are busy as usual. I hope you take some time for yourself and rest.

The house seems ready for the movers. I got out everything I want them to take and I will bring a few more boxes from my son's house for them to take. The rest I can do over time. I don't want to feel too overwhelmed. As long as I have dishes, cleaning supplies, paper products, toiletries, linens and towels, clothes, laptops, TVs, phones, wifi, and furniture I should be good for a while. I do have coffee and a coffee pot along with food items to bring so that will help too.

I looked up passes for the Stone Zoo and there is an option where there can be 3 adults on the pass and you can bring a fair number of kids and adult with you. I figure I may as well add my 2 sons to the pass so they can bring their families. My younger DS also mentioned the Audubon society for walking trails and going to wildlife sanctuaries. That may be a good thing too.

I do follow one called Aries the Cat Ambassador. I will have to look for the one you mentioned.

Afternoon all!

It is so dang hot and muggy out!

DH and I went to the 'event'; hung out for about an hour and listened to speeches; and left because we were both just feeling not too good. Too much heat, too many people. I'm not sharing photos or any other info, because of Dis rules.

The mail lady picked up our Chewy box and paper bag of food; and my postcards for the voter postcard mailing group came in, so once I get the stamps next week, I can get them written and sent out. Woohoo.

After we cooled off, DH built the cabinet we're using for our booze. (Ignore the messes, lol) I have to finish moving stuff over, but that's where it's going, by the bookshelves in the dining area, by our bedroom door. We're doing the other one next weekend; he's just too tired today, and tomorrow we have to be at the car rental place about noon to pick up his work rental, so no time to do it then.

And I got a surprise in the mail! The kids bought me a Lego flower bouquet, and the grandkids sent me a little Lego R2D2 keychain (it's on top of the box, so tiny!) + (late) birthday and Mother's day cards. DD#2 said she kept forgetting to mail them, but that's ok, because I don't expect anything from them ever. I really appreciate the thought they put into the gift.

I was up super early, so I made some cinnamon streusel coffee cake for breakfast. We had burgers for lunch, with waffle fries for me, and sweet potato tots for DH. Dinner tonight is probably frozen Stouffers French bread pizzas.

The freezer is just going haywire at this point; the thermostat or something is bad, because it's set to zero, and it's flucuating from 6 to 35. The fridge is reading colder than the freezer at times! I'm going to have to call the LL on Monday, because they have yet to respond to my online requests. So frustrating.

Anyways, I'm exhausted and I need to go get the pizzas cooking. Y'all have a good night. (and I'm sorry I didn't say anything about anyone's posts. I was going to, and have no idea what I was going to say, because my brain is fried.)

ETA never mind about the pizzas, lol. Dh wants me to order wings and dirty tots from BWW. I'm good with that! LOL

:grouphug:Snowysmom, one step at a time with YOU in good care. I like the idea of you having a walking trial at an animal sanctuary or from the Audubon society that sounds peaceful and pretty. Is there anything like Longwood Gardens that Carol shares about and looks beautiful near you?

Thanks for the eclipse reminder, Pea. Dad mentioned that last night. I think I saw some type of eclipse not that many years ago while standing with a friend or two in our church parking lot during the afternoon. Does this ring any bells to any of you as to what I'm referring to?

ITA with PollyannaMom, great Lego flowers and definitely treat yourself and your DH to dinner at home!

Lynn, I hope by now you are resting!

Thinking of you Dazed, Frog, and Kirby.

Good evening.

We had a nice couple of hours with Carter while Tessa went to a baby shower with her mom. Even though we couldn't understand most of what he said, Carter is quite the chatterbox. Then DH wanted to go out for dinner so we went to the pizza place we like. He had a cheesesteak he'd been craving and I had a chicken gyro.

Was a little shaken up this morning, pretty sure I drove by a fatal accident.
That is terrible. I know how unsetting that is.

Predicting rain for later today
Been raining here on and off all day.

Lunar Eclipse Sunday
Thank you. I had read about it somewhere and actually set an alarm so I would remember.

I think I saw some type of eclipse not that many years ago while standing with a friend or two in our church parking lot during the afternoon.
Solar eclipse in August a few years back.

Mona, there was a solar eclipse in August of 2017.
Yep!

That's about all for now.

Mona There was the solar eclipse in Aug 2017. Chris always wanted to see a total solar eclipse. We booked an eclipse tour which took us to Yellowstone and Grand Teton national parks. We saw the eclipse in Wyoming, just 10 miles north of Jackson Hole. It was an amazing experience with totality for almost 2 and half minutes. I am so glad Chris got his bucket list wish. We don't have anything like Longwood Gardens near where I will be living. Older DS has a nice place near him. They go there occasionally.

@Pea-n-Me So scary to see such a bad accident.

Today is recital day for older DGD and birthday for DGS. Off to walk early before it rains and before I have to do my lovely ride down 495 and route 3.
