@Kirby, I was wondering about a “How to Play” game now that he’s a little older - maybe something like Chess? I had bought my kids that type of game, it was a whole game board with instructions. I looked to see if they had any on Amazon but I didn’t see any. An alternative would be a simple book plus a game board, same subject. There are other “How To” books as well, for other games. Sometimes learning a game like that can have its rewards. This one was the one that came out at me most. How to Play Chess

@bobbiwoz I’m glad your radiation is going well! How many treatments do you have to have? I went through the radiation process, too. I grew to really like the staff, and I loved seeing the angels and things that other patients had attached to the ceiling to comfort those who came after them. That did bring me comfort. I remember, we had a German Shepherd puppy at home, and the staff made me bring the dog in, along with my two 6yo kids! 😵 I was laying in the machine and I heard all sorts of commotion, barking, and giggling outside. But they apparently had a great time. Good memories mixed with hard ones.

Well off to bring Toto to the groomer‘s. Poor Toto. He likes it there, and the people, but does not like the process too much. I applied for another rescue dog. Any good thoughts to spare, send them my way, I would really like to get this dog! Hopefully not already gone! 🙏🏻

Have a good day everyone! 🐣

:wave:Good morning from here, too. Feels like a timeless morning at the moment and as though it could be later in the day than it is! Dad is doing laundry and then headed to Ralph's. I'm going to call the 99 Cent Only Store customer service a little later to check in whether marketing has received the email from the woman, Janie, I spoke with a week or so ago regarding Sue. I haven't heard anything from them since we talked and would rather this not get forgotten!

What a nice Aunt, you are Kirby. I really like that your nephew's family enjoys playing games together. I think it's so important for families to spend quiet at home time together. Do you know what games he may already have? I just Googled "puzzle board game," and Uzzle came up. I have never heard of this game and didn't watch the video clip, but it might be worth checking out.

Praise God, always, for new babies, Carol. How neat that Marty will have a cousin so close in age.

Yikes, stay warm, Lynn! Prayers all is quiet on your neighbor front today, too!

Uno stay warm, too, Footballmouse! Uno is such fun indeed :)

Soup sounds like a perfect cold and damp weather dinner, Easyas! I hope you get to enjoy some and have a cozy evening, too.

Doggie prayers for Toto, Pea and an extra hug for you!

Happy Tuesday to all :)

footballmouse, Pea and Mona, thank you for the suggestions. I never thought of chess. Uno would be good but I believe I sent that to his brother a couple of years ago. I've never heard of Uzzle, I'll have to look that one up.

Had lunch with a good friend today. Haven't seen her in a couple of months so it was nice to spend some time with her.

:hug:Kirby, I'm so glad you had a lunch with your friend. You needed some good cheer! Continued prayers for all of you.

I did call 99 this morning and was told someone would be calling me back. I would so love this to work out for Sue.

Nothing really new otherwise. I hope all of you are enjoying the afternoon.

Good cold afternoon.

Like the rest of my Maryland and east coast friends. I am over this. I want the warmth.

Instead of a 2 hour shift at church today I did 4 hours. Did read the newspaper and finished a book. Going to yoga in a bit. Defrosting chili for dinner.

I ordered some binoculars from Amazon and they came today. Can't wait to go look at some birds. Also renewed my Longwood membership. Looking forward to going again.

Better get a move on.

I'm glad to hear you renewed at Longwood, Carol. That's something it seems as though you and your family all enjoy together 🌷 thank you, as always, for your extra service to church and have fun 🐦watching.

I never heard of Quiddler, PollyannaMom, that looks interesting. When I was younger, I enjoyed Boggle. Now, the noise (rolling letter cubes) is just too clanky/loud. At one time I did have a very small travel Bobble with letters on heavy cardboard strips that slid into a container but that wasn't the same.

Scattergories would make a fun family game, too. Plus, your nephew, Kirby, and his family, like dad and I did at one time, add their own categories.

Well said, Easyas! ITA.

Keep well and warm, friends and have a good night.

I like Boggle, too! You can get a random board here with no shaking noise:

https://wordshake.com/boggle

(You can play on a phone or tablet by swiping the words, but if you want to use it to play the paper and pencil version with your Dad, just turn off the timer and use the board on the screen instead of the cube thingy.)

Happy Wednesday morning!

Not much going on with me. Getting my haircut after work today and then tonight is my Survivor night. I think I might stop somewhere after my haircut and grab take-out for dinner, I'm thinking Chipotle but who knows. I eat way too much Chipotle, probably 2x a week, maybe 3x.

I had the Boggle game when I was a kid. It was fun but the shaking was loud.

I'm going to start working so I hope everyone has a great day!

Good sunny morning all. I slept in till 7---very unusual for me,,but I did a lot yesterday, was not a do nothing day in the end, lol.
Its 36 out now, going to 60. Trash is down at the street, cats and birds are fed, and as soon as Mr L gets moving, we will be off to the grocery store and do a few other errands.

Have a great day, will check in again later

Happy Wednesday, everyone :)

Boggle definitely is loud! Sorry I'm not the only one who thought so. Thank you again to PolyannaMom for the online link to a quiet version--much better! :)

Dad and I really do enjoy playing Rack-o. Sorry is always fun, too. I don't have much Monopoly patience but am pretty sure there are now many different versions of the game including some Disney choices. Dad enjoys playing our online Scrabble game. Years ago we had a Classic Concentration computer game which I liked. Whatever you choose, Kirby, will be a wonderful gift and like I said yesterday, help strengthen a family bond which in itself is a gift! I hope you get to play the game some time with your nephew. Let us know what you end up getting :)

Overcast and cooler here this morning. Waiting for Sparkletts. Dad will be heading out shortly on some errands. Tomorrow is when I go to the dentist. I would appreciate prayers that visit goes well. Thank you, friends so much.

Have a beautiful day!

Good luck to you tomorrow. I myself have a dentist appt. in a few weeks that I'm not necessarily looking forward to!

Sun is shining and the wind has let down so half the battle against being chilly is won. Not sure what the temp is though. Looks like this weekend will be delightful. Can't wait.

I have kind of a odd question for you all - has anyone been to Prague, Budapest or Nuremburg? We've got the possible opportunity to stop off for 2 nights at one of those cities during a trip later this year. We've researched them - we've not yet been to any of them - and we'd love to go to all three, but only have the time & budget for 1. We will be in Budapest for a day & a half as part of our already planned out trip, and my Mother has been going on about how she could have spent another 2 weeks there after visiting for 4 days a few years ago. I've also always wanted to go to Nuremburg & Prague. Well, honestly I want to go everywhere, but these are my opportunities now. Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone else had been to any of these cities before and had any opinions on them. I think I'll also ask on the main community boards, but thought I'd ask you guys first.

Trying to decide if we are putting the garden in this weekend or not. Don't really have any other plans this weekend so we can do it whenever. Well, no plans other than mowing of course. Tis the Season to Mow :drive: 🚜. I have to decide on some colors, too. I have paint samples up in my kitchen, dining room and master bath. Going to start with the kitchen and go on from there. Luckily my husband loves to paint - he gets his headphones on and one of his audio books going and he gets in a happy zone of painting & listening. Like, he actually is looking forward to it. He's one of those weirdos that doesn't need tape, he can manage a perfect corner or edge somehow. When I paint it looks like someone let a 4 year old loose with a brush! It gets everywhere!

Not sure what the dinner situation is for this evening.
