Happy Easter to all who celebrate the holiday.

@Pea-n-Me You had a busy night! I am glad you had the time to think about those who are no longer here and how they touched your life. I am sure they are with you in spirit.

@PollyannaMom Love the cats and the Easter basket

@lynxstch Very nice picture.

Chris is on my mind today of course. I am trying to have a peaceful day with good thoughts and memories. I know he is with me always. And I know he will be with the grandkids today probably helping them find Easter eggs.

Have a nice day.

Happy Easter, Everyone!!
Adorable picture! And my big orange cat that my daughter brought to me last year and who has decided he's not going home, found the 16 oz box of Temptations treats on the counter. He managed to knock them to the floor where the top opened up and spilled enough for him and the other 2 cats to have a feast.

Easter is low key here this year. My grands got their treats in a basket before we went on holiday as I figured we would all be done when we got home and it looks like I was correct. They also enjoyed wearing their dresses on vacation and I had gotten them candy and toothbrush kits with various things in it. At one point there were 4 dentists (now all retired) in extended family so old habits never die.

Younger DD went to a restaurant yesterday and got us an Easter dinner along with last night's dinner, packaged to reheat today. Although I'm liking the mention of deviled eggs and giving them some thought for later.

I often wake up at 1, 2, 3am, but seemed to shake it on vacation last week so have slept through the night even since coming home. (well, except for a half asleep bathroom trip).

Looking forward to having DD home for the next 2 days as she's off Monday and Tuesday. I'm not sure what plans she has but my plans for her include carrying a few heavier things out of my basement for disposal. I'll set them out the night before trash pickup and more than likely they'll get taken by someone before the truck comes.

Also I must get my 3 wheel bike out of the shed for use this year and order a cover for it for sitting outside. I want it to stay nice and shiny. I'm pondering a way to carry it on my car, such as a lift/platform on the back as my car takes one of those whatchamacallits that hook into the back end, and will carry a bike or cooler. Brain not giving me the right word right now. That way I can carry it to the beach with me and not have to take the van, which burns 3 times the gas as the hybrid. Hitch - that's the word I couldn't get out of my brain.

Rambling now - I've had my coffee, fed the cats and dog and must get outside for a bit.

Have a great day all and enjoy your families today!

I'm going to be working on the backyard, getting my containers ready for the organic and yard waste pickup tomorrow.

Cloudy and 45 here..winter weather advisory for tonite and tomorrow? LOL! I haven't stopped since I got up. I had Mr L cut up celery and carrots for the crudite tray, grate the swiss cheese for the swiss corn casserole, and peel potatoes. I put the swiss corn thing together (I can't stand swiss cheese, but everyone else loves that casserole). I cooked and mashed a whole pressure cooker full of potatoes. Put them in a casserole to heat later this afternoon (dinner around 6). I made the pig pickin' cake, got out the pickles, olives, pineapple, etc and put them in the cooler. Put in a spare jug of Gold Peak Tea, just in case. I did all the dishes, there were a lot! I just swept the kitchen floor and am going to pass the swiffer in a bit. Mr L is taking a break (which means nap), and I am just about worn out. I cleaned all the chairs, borrowed 4 folding ones from my Sister in Law,,put away the humidifiers, and cleaned off the dining room table. After I finish the floor I want to move that table and run the vacuum,,table only gets used once or twice a year, so I don't move it unless I am spring or fall cleaning, lol! Then it's a quick swipe over the bathrooms, and I can relax the rest of the afternoon, till it's time to get the food ready.

Lynn, your posts make me tired. :rotfl:

I hope all your hard work pays off and you and your guests have a wonderful day!!

Happy Easter with love, Quacker family! Prayers each of you know extra this Holy day that Jesus loves and is with you always. I give Him extra thanks for each of you this Sunday, too.

I love all the adorable pet pictures! :)

Dad loved his yellow lunch bag and the joy of God-willing adventures and new memories shared in health together as He calls. I was given a special lunch bag this time last year so it meant extra to me to be able to give dad his, today. Easter is all about LOVE! Cherish, extra my friends, all those God has placed closer in your lives to love.

:grouphug:🐥❤️

weather is a little hotter, pool is accesaible so I can go exercise for my lymphedema after being hunched over the keyboard for awhile and the pool. offers relief. but ow alittle rest as belly full of lunch and lemon pie...still finding lemons on our one tree . lost most of next year orange crop due to winds...so sad to see all the tiny oranges pea size on the ground...where as those nasty lemons are now the size of easter eggs and won't be ripe till november. Yes that was fresh sqeezed lemon pie.

but weather has been gradual and as long as it is gradual by july 1st 110 will be easy to accommodate.

Just got a sad text from one of my Sister in Laws. The one that threw the bridal shower 2 weeks ago. Our nephew and his fiancee have called off the wedding (which was to be June 11) :( He is having too many doubts..better now than after, but still a sad thing. SIL says she has all the gifts and they will be returned to everyone next week. They were also in the middle of buying a house, so I don't know what is going to happen with that

tazdev, thank you for sharing your pictures!

Hope everyone had a good Easter. Ours was very quiet. DD found out Wednesday afternoon that Lou Lou was going to spend the whole weekend with her dad. She has only been around him for seven hours total with two hours being the longest. It was a very stressful couple of days for DD. The GK's liaison just wanted to see how DD's ex would do with both kids for three days. Why would anyone want to experiment with a little kid that way? DD picked them both up this evening, it was so good to have them both home.

Easter was very quiet with no typical Easter dinner, we did not go to church. DD didn't want to go and be asked where the kids were. The church service was held out side and it was cold so we did not go. Instead we slept in a little and then went to brunch at a local restaurant. I didn't cook dinner, just had sandwiches in the afternoon.

Good morning. It was nice to see the grandkids yesterday. They all had their Easter egg hunts and their fill of candy.

It is 33 here now going into the 50s.

Now to get coffee and work. It is getting more difficult to get into doing work lately. It is my state of mind most likely.

Have a good day.

Good Monday morning.

We had a nice Easter brunch yesterday at a golf club. The food was okay but I won't go back. I told the kids that we have to plan sooner so we can go to the golf club brunch that we used to go to. It was kind of cold out yesterday, didn't get in to the 50's until 5:00 pm. Everyone enjoyed their Easter baskets, even the animals. I put $5 lottery tickets in the kid's baskets and we had 3 winners  . At least they got some spending money for the week.

I actually had the entire weekend off work and I definitely took advantage of the time. Cleaned out my garage, cut and edged the grass, cleaned the house, made a trip to Goodwill, and went back to taking my walks. I've been trying to cut back on eating sugar. It's been a week and I think I'm doing pretty good. I haven't had a Coke in a week. I actually threw some snacky type food in the garbage. I figured with doing this and getting back to my walks, hopefully I can lose a few pounds before my July trip.

Ds1 called off his wedding back in 2017 right after we had a big family shower. He found out that the girl was cheating on him with one of his groomsmen >:(. I'm definitely glad he found out and had the nerve to cancel it. I'm sure she would have done it again after they were married.

That's all I have for today. Hope everyone has a good day. :cutie:

Good morning. Temp is 38 and will up 1 whole degree for the day. Weather channel says 'snow will continue for the next several hours" and I say huh--its not doing anything outside, lol

Easter was okay-sort of. It was fine till dinnertime. They were supposed to be here at 6--stepdaughter texted me at 6:36 that she had to drop her husband off for the work van, that they had just called him at 4:30 and told him to be ready. Then she tells me that the oldest grandson isn't coming,,he had a headache. They finally got here at 6:45, and one of the granddaughters was in tears. She was outside crying, and I went out to see what the problem was. She said that RJ (next oldest grandson) was being a butthead (not what she used, but I don't want points!). She said she almost didn't come too, but she loved us and wanted to see us. Just didn't want Granddad seeing her cry. By the time they got here, dinner was more than ready, had to reheat a few things. I was told the older grandson had a headache and stayed home to sleep. Then we had dessert (@Pea-n-Me--the pig pickin' cake was a big hit here also). Then the grandson and the granddaughter boyfriend (the one who is living with them now), went to the garden and moved 2 wooden heavy things into the middle where the burn pile is so I didn't have to try to move them. Then they left..and it was about 8. So they were only here for a little over an hour. Summer texted me later, that the older grandson wasn't really ill. But he and his brother have been feuding all week long, and he was afraid that if he came..there would be another argument and he didn't want to ruin Easter. Smart of him, but sad that we didn't get to see him, haven't seen him since Christmas :(

Summer also knew how to find court records, and she looked up the guy next door. The cops found and arrested him Saturday night, he spent the night in jail, his parents had to pay $1000 bail to get him out, and he better show up for court this morning or there will be a third warrant out for him. We looked up his arrest record,,it goes back to 1970 and is 2 pages long! Yikes!

I do not plan on doing much today. All the cleaning and laundry are all done anyhow. I may go down into the basement and start repotting the tomato seedings into their own separate pots. Or I may just sit in the big comfy chair down there and take a nap, lol

Have a great day everyone!

Hugs to everyone who had a rough or not-so-great weekend.

Easter was quiet for me as well. DS is up at school (which felt weirder than I thought it would) and DH had to travel for work. In an effort to make the best of that, since I didn't have to worry about his diet, I made myself cheddar bay biscuits for brunch - yum!!

Dinner at MIL & FIL's was just them, me, and one niece. SIL had to work, other nieces had their own plans, and an aunt and cousin who sometimes join us weren't there either. We played Scrabble, which I'd forgotten how much I enjoy. MIL always wins 😆 but it's still fun, and I also got some quality puppy time with their little dog.

MIL made German chocolate cake, and I brought home an extra piece for breakfast this morning!
