Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Good Morning friends :)

Snowysmom, I'd love to see a picture of the quilt, too. :grouphug: and prayers this week ahead finds you feeling extra peace! I do think, based on all you have shared, that a one floor condo is the way for you to go. God-willing should dad and I get to move one day, we both would want a new place to be only one floor and on a ground floor, too--unless, the building had an elevator. Thank you also on Ruth's gift. I'm going to quickly watch a few episodes that I remember especially liking and then email a list to Steve. It would be a lot of fun to have a TBAA discussion with you and other Quackers should any of you catch an episode. Here, TBAA is on every weekday from 8-10 on START Tv.

Hooray for birds singing and other indicators of Spring coming, dear Lynn :) Have a good day, my friend.

I shall check back later. Have a great day everyone and please stay warm!

Wow this thread is VERY quiet today! We had sun part of the day, temp is 39 but now it's cloudy and according to the Weather Channel, it's raining, except that it isn't. Watched a few shows today to get caught up. Fixing Johnsonville Irish Garlic Sausage for dinner, with rice, and steamed broccoli and cauliflower. Applesauce will be our fruit. Idol is on tonite, so I have to get my list of favorites ready to add to. Have a nice evening everyone

Cool here today but sunny. I just got back from my second walk. I really need to clear my head today. The real estate agent called to say the open house went well. There is interest in the house. Offers are due a week from tomorrow. He says this gives people a change to come back to take another look. I am intimidated by the properties that have an open house on the weekend and want offers by 5 pm that Monday right after the weekend. At least give me a few days to mull it over. I guess they want you to make a rash decision and bid high.

I have not watched Touched By an Angel but I know people who really liked it.

Have a good evening.

Good afternoon.

We had a nice dinner at DD's house yesterday. Carter is so funny. DH was building a tower with Duplos with Carter. DH was laying on the floor on his side building the tower. Carter decided to lay down too, except then he couldn't reach it. And then DH was wearing his baseball cap backyards so Carter did too. He really likes his granddad right now. Oh, and we stopped at the Amish Market on the way there and got grillers.

This morning was a little rough getting up for church but we did it. And it was so cold. Only up to 35 now so we have a fire in the fireplace. Just hanging out doing little stuff here.

Dinner tonight is grillers, rice, and stewed tomatoes. Tomorrow is Pi Day and I plan to go to our favorite ice cream spot that will have pie a la mode for $3.14.

@flyingdumbo127, I watch TBAA on START TV some mornings. That is where we see it too. I have seen them so much there are some I just can't watch anymore, like the ones with the boy with CF. My favorites are the ones where Della Reese and vocal guest stars sing. Then Sings My Soul S6, ep 9. And I liked Winners, Losers, and Leftovers S7, ep 16. (I just read through 9 seasons of episodes.)
And like @Snowysmom said, it sounds like you came up with a great solution for Ruth's gift.

the listing for our house
Would you be willing to share it? Or PM me? Then I can see all the works you've done.

Enjoy your evening, Lynn! Until discovering Sprouts Applesauce during this pandemic, I never liked applesauce which was too bad given my TMJ. The Sprouts not only tastes like sweet apples but has no sugar too boot--positives all around. I hope you enjoyed your 🍎sauce.

:grouphug:Pea. You please stay safe and warm! Thinking of you!

:hug:Snowysmom, I think you would like TBAA. A lot of the episodes can be found online to watch for free if ever you want to check one out. My grandma loved the show when it first came out. I didn't start watching it until 10 years ago or so! Refreshing and touching, too. In some episodes Tess (Della Reese) even has a little dog with her. I remember asking Della once when I briefly knew her, whether the dog was ever named and how it came to be part of the cast. Not sure the dog was Della's favorite colleague--she said it had a mind of its own, but it was a cute critter. Reminder to me that my Champ is a real angel dog of God as is your Jasper, my friend. Prayers you don't feel rushed into anything either from the renting/buying a new place or selling your house perspective. I am extra thankful you have the support of your loving family in this. Remember, always, all of us love you and care, too. Most of all, so does God!

Precious Carter! I loved church this morning Carol and getting to see "faces" again even among the choir was an added joy indeed. Thank you always for inviting me to be a part of your church and for all you do for God through it. Grandma loved Della's voice. I always feel much cheer just hearing the TBAA theme song. Then Sings My Soul is absolutely a favorite of mine. Thank you so much.

Quiet afternoon here and a bit warmer, hooray.

Have a good evening everyone and please stay warm and safe out there.

Good Morning. It is 27 now but a warmer day is expected, around 50. Another Monday another week.

It is nice to be out and around and see faces again. People are not meant to be "faceless" so now we can see the people and not the mask. I am grateful for that.

Have a good day.

Everytime I hear someone say that..I wonder about the little kids..the ones that are about 1 and 2 , and most of them haven't seen too many faces, just masks. Some have only seen their parents with masks on. What their reaction will be would be something I would like to see--will they be afraid, will they be happy? Just a thought that keeps popping into my brain,,lol!

Good morning..brisk start to a sunny 60 degree day. I got all of my tomato seeds planted in the cellar yesterday, they are safe and happy under the growing light. Without even realizing the date, I planted them on 3/13,,which is my annual planting day..lol.. March 18 on Friday will mark the day I arrived in MD 22 years ago, wow does time fly!

Some spring cleaning will start today, and I just realized that with all the new blinds, and they way they mount, I won't be able to just take them down as easily as the old ones. Maybe I will just wipe them down with a disinfecting cloth, they aren't too dusty yet anyhow, as most of them were just put up. Has to be warmer for me to be able to open the windows and wash them, so saving that for the end of the week.
Just made a batch of chicken salad. Last week the day of our ice storm, Walmart had marked down the containers of already off the rotisserie chicken. I got one, and made a small batch to see how I liked it. It tastes as good as the one we get from a local restaurant, and a lot less cost. Their large subs/hoagies are almost $13..granted they are big,,but almost $30 for 2 of them is a 'once in awhile' treat. This way I can make a lot more of them for a lot less. I had picked up a pkg of Caporelli (local Italian bakery) rolls to make them with, and I will make my own seasoned lettuce. I am getting hungry for dinner just writing this, lol

Off to shake out the rugs, pass the swiffer through the bathrooms and kitchen and start on the cleaning.

Have a great day everyone

Happy Monday morning everyone! princess:

Work this weekend was very slow, very few patients which is a nice break every now and then. I started watching Schitt's Creek on Netflix this weekend and the show is so funny. I can't believe I've put off watching this all these years.

Yesterday I got home from work a little before 8 am so I was able to grab a couple of hours of sleep and then I headed to the lodge at the county park we were going to (about an hour away). We all met for the pancake breakfast which was fun. Ds2 ate 12 pancakes ! He definitely got his $8 worth. Poor Ds1 was sick. He said he hadn't eaten since 12 pm on Saturday. His faced looked like he was having an allergic reaction to something. I texted him last night to check on him and he said that he was able to keep the pancakes down but slept all day. This morning he texted me and said that his boss took one look at him and sent him home. My advice was to head to urgent care, his face should not look like that if it was just a stomach bug.

I got home around 2:30 from the breakfast and slept another 2 hours. Didn't do anything the rest of the day and finally went to bed around 11. Working from home today so I wasn't worried about getting to bed early.

Supposed to be nice outside this week so I'm going to get out and walk. I've decided to go back to my old route that has the bigger hills to walk up. I think I've been walking the easy routes too much. :tiptoe:

Hope everyone has a great day!

family breakfast out.
I've not been out for breakfast in a while, might have to do that soon!
Younger DS said the listing for our house has almost 500 hits and about 25 saves on one site and a similar amount on another site. I hope that correlates into offers.
That's awesome! Good luck & fingers crossed!
And freeing-to-the-bone weather! Stay well!
Dang it was cold, and the wind just would not stop this weekend. I think my cheeks are still cold from taking the mutts for a few long walks.

I agree!

yawn yawn yawn
Not really time-change related, more like Alka-Seltzer nightime related :scared: Felt a head cold or allergy issues coming on so I tried to head it off. Tis the time of year....hoping for a nice afternoon later this week to be able to open up the house and get some fresh air in. I realize for some that makes it worse, but for me I feel like it clears out the house.

Admittedly I can't recall the temp this morning - lets say 'quite chilly' degrees out, and that this afternoon will be 'better than it has been with this week looking to be 'kinda mild in the afternoon'.
At least that's the way I recall from the weeks forecast!

Dinner last night was a venison roast slow cooked in some of last years tomatoes & peppers. Turned out pretty good, we ended up having it in soft tacos last night. We have an appt. after work today so I'm thinking this evening will be leftovers most likely, and tomorrow will be grilled chicken thighs.

Have a good morning everyone -

I've never thought to make chicken salad from a rotisserie chicken, but that tis a good idea! I've seen in Costco where they sell already pulled rotisserie chicken. I'm going to have to try that.

Ok - I've been meaning to start watching this but haven't yet. I understand it is hilarious - is Netflix the only place it is? I'm not to hip on what is on what streaming service and don't have Netflix but would get it when I start watching this.

Good morning. This place is hopping this morning.

Happy Pi Day! I look forward to this day every year. Pie a la mode is on the plan for lunch today, and UDairy Creamery. I plan on Irish Cream ice cream on apple pie. Only other plan is Comcast supposed to come between 3-5. DH wants cable in his Man Cave.

Still chilly but supposed to warm up.

Mona, before I forget, just watched the TBAA episode 2:1, Interview with an Angel. Its the one about the heart transplant surgeon that has to operate on the man who killed his children while driving drunk. It is a good one.

I wonder about the little kids..the ones that are about 1 and 2
I can tell you Carter's reaction. He was born May 2020, during the height of the pandemic. His parents didn't mask around him. Grands did for a while but I would lower it occasionally so he could see my face. Babies really respond to smiles. But something else is how he experiences crowds now. DD took him to a Christmas display, outside, this past year. He was totally overwhelmed by a crowd of people and withdrew to his mom.

I started watching Schitt's Creek on Netflix this weekend
We really enjoyed that show. Very touching too.

Not sure if it's available on another streaming service. I only have Netflix and Amazon and I know it's not on Amazon. I've heard from a few people over the weekend that some think it's hard to get into, so give it some epidsodes, I was hooked after the first one but I like the sarcasm.

Good morning and so nice to come onto a bunch of shares :)

It did mean so much to me to see faces in online worship yesterday! I have felt most heartbroken for kids during this pandemic to be missing out on human interactions and smiles--so sad. I continue to pray daily for a kind and permanent end to this mess!

Thank you, Carol, for the TBAA recommendation. I really do need to start watching my DVD's! If any of you want to watch some of the episodes with me let me know. That would be fun :)

Cooler morning here so far. Supposed to warm up later. When I woke up this morning it felt much earlier than it was. I wish we'd stick with one time. Dad said gas prices are almost $6! Good thing I don't drive at all right now (other than to move my car from one side of the street to the other) and dad's driving is limited. Yikes! Crazy expensive.

Happy mid-March Monday to all :)

Carol I meant to reply about my house. It does not even look like my house any more. The stager really made it completely different from what we had even after it got cleaned out. I would not want anyone to look at the pictures and think I did that to the poor house. I have to let it go but it does make me sad and mad at the same time. She even put a tent in the family room which is a bit odd. I find I can't even stay in the house long now. I think part of that is realizing it is going to be sold and it is hard for me even when I know it is the right decision. If I could find a place to live it would make leaving my house easier.

Cool, thanks. I'm going to look into that.

I've been thinking about this - could you enjoy a drive around for a change of scenery to get out of the house? Maybe drive around your neighborhood or down to a park area? Dip you toes back in so-to-speak. Or just go for a drive with your father one afternoon?

I've sold three houses in my married life so far, and I can still recall the first house we had - we built it ourselves, and when it came time to sell we needed to paint and put new carpet in. The agent was pretty insistent about neutral colors w/ the carpet while I was just going with what appealed to me. Turned out the agent was right and it made the house look better to prospective buyers. If you can learn not to take it personally - after all you are paying these people to sell this house, and in doing so you are paying them for their know-how - you might be able to see past the décor and whatnot that the agents have put up and appreciate your house for what it is providing to you. The opportunity to make a fresh start. I dunno....I suppose it's always easier for those of us outside of a situation to pontificate and freely share our opinions in the hope or expectation that we are being helpful, when really we are coming off as clueless and not understanding of the difficulties. I don't mean to be disrespectful of your feelings.

Well I made the mistake of going home to whip up some lunch and let the pups out. Dang - it's almost nice outside! Dogs were on the porch just sleeping in the sun, soaking it up. I wish I could have joined them. Left the big guy outside for the afternoon and regretfully put the young lady in her crate. Soon she'll be ready to stay outside in the yard on nice days while we are gone. She's got her first vet appt. this evening as well.

I know the house looks neutral to prospective buyers without the sellers taste of decorating and color in the mix. My emotions are just so raw now that I will get cranky and sad about just about anything. Plus I didn't like the stager's attitude when I met her so I am biased against her. I will admit it is my issue and I take no offense from anyone offering their opinion. I know it is done with care and looking at things with an impartial eye.
