It’s nice to hear of people freely booking vacations again, without Covid angst.
Sounds like things are moving along @Snowysmom and @TazDev
Today was a beautiful day. I took an old friend out to lunch for her birthday. We went to kindergarten and elementary school together, so have been friends for that long. It was as if no time at all had passed. Kids are around the same age so we had lots to catch up on. I went home by way of the ocean and it was nice to see a lot of people out enjoying the day. Had a sudden urge for an ice cream cone at one of my favorite haunts, but the line was out the door, so I skipped it this time. (Bummer!
) Unfortunately short lived nice weather as we’ll be getting another snow storm Friday, and of course I have to work! I haven’t had good luck this winter with timing of storms.
DH turned wrong when he was putting on his shoes so he’s been hobbling around. Fun getting older, isn’t it?
I wanted to make a Mediterranean Salad for dinner today but DD beat me to it, and made it for lunch. We had some for dinner. For lunch I had a really delicious butternut squash soup. I‘ve seen some more things on Instagram I want to try making. As I’ve said here before, I’m not much of a “recipe” person, so I like these videos as they just show you what to do. One I saw was a “lazy man’s lasagna” using raviolis, sauce and cheese, layered. (Could also add meat.) Another that looked pretty cool was in a big sauté pan putting onions, garlic, tomatoes, peppers, mushrooms, etc., and as they’re cooking, put a pound of spaghetti in the pan (with the liquid from those) and cover until done. DH and I were both like, yeah, let’s try that one! We’re all about keeping things simple at this stage. (We’re tired from our jobs!)
I called to get an appt to look at a dog in a shelter today but never heard back. I’m pretty certain the dog will be gone by the time they call me back. But we’ll see. It’s a puppy.
(Quick! Someone talk me out of this! Lol. Just kidding.)
Oh, the QOTD I never answered. There are so many birds I enjoy watching, it’s hard to say. But I love the chickadee, our state bird. And cardinals, of course. Hummingbirds. Mockingbirds. Woodpeckers. (I have one tapping oupside of my bedroom a lot.) We saw an owl at FW last year, it was up in a tree watching us. We’d arrived around midnight and took the golf cart around for a spin. He flew right in front of us, but we were able to see where he landed. That was pretty neat. I enjoyed hearing about the birds that all of you enjoy! DH feeds the birds so we see a lot of different ones in our yard. It’s peaceful. We also have a lot of wild turkeys around, sometimes they hop up on our roof! Or jump the fence to get into our yard, or the neighbors’ yards. Toto is not too happy when that happens. Nor with the squirrels or bunnies we have. DH did see a skunk in the yard the other night. We might have to do the humane trap to relocate him! Have had many skunk sprays late at night w our dogs! Pewww!
