It's an event put on several times per year pre covid for Disney Vacation Club members. Paid for by DVC. Like an after hours event with free food and very limited crowds for members.

This is the first one since Feb 2020 (not sure they had one in March 2020). I was there with my SIL in Feb 2020 and we had a great time! I've done them at almost all the parks except Epcot. This one is Epcot. It's really not a solid plan yet for me, but I'll register anyway.

All I can say is wow!!!!! He would do some cheap upgrades and pocket your money. I guess that's business.

For a year's salary, I would certainly not sign with one of those companies. I'd rather cut the price to attract someone trying to find a place to live as opposed to walking away. The speculators do have a place but they have climbed a long ways from bankruptcy properties, distressed properties to trying to talk older sellers into letting their homes go for a song and hitting up vulnerable people when they are trying to make the best decisions.

Home from errands. Our weather turned from 65 degrees at 10 am to 55 now. Goes from bright sunshine to dark clouds and winds come up every now and then . Aldi's was empty at 9:15, as in there were 3 customers in the store, and I was one of them. Very unusual. Walmart was starting to turn into a zoo by the time I was already checking out. People were grabbing milk and bread like they were going to be housebound for days. There is still no Friskies to be found in the store, but I found and grabbed 3 cases online Monday. One was delivered today, the other 2 will be here Saturday. The other shortage this week seems to be russet potatoes? Aldi's had none, and Walmart only had a few bags. They had plenty of the Special Kitty canned tuna that all of the cats love,,so I grabbed a case of that..it's the bigger cans,,so that will last a while. My cellar corner shelves look like a cat food warehouse,,lol..can't help it,,have to grab it when you see it
Stopped at the store over the PA line..lots of good stuff this week. They had the Jack Daniels shredded pork,,price on it in Walmart was $8.74..I paid $4.99 for it..got 2 and one is going in the freezer,,they are dated well into March. Also got some more Waygu Beef,,4 rolls of Jimmy Dean sausage. $3.99 each in Walmart, only $1.99 at the discount place, all well within date. Also picked up 4 bags of Indiana Fudge Drizzled popcorn. $2.99 a bag in Walmart..I paid $1.29 for each one..good deals!

My Sister in Law is having tests done in Morgantown tomorrow..and she's worried about the weather so they are going up this afternoon and staying in a hotel.

My grandmother used to always say Don't regret what you DO do, regret what you DON'T do! I always loved that saying and don't regret living by it! I hope you have a awesome time! I haven't stayed at the Swalphin but we do prefer the Epcot area resorts for the ease of just being able to walk right on over to Epcot or Studios, it's just a great location.

I agree. I'm not one to let the grass grow when I decide I want to do something. Best to have no regrets! Also, spending grandma time is important to me and I'm not able to reverse the clock.

The side trip to Disney is in the air, but I'll still give it a shot. I've got nothing to lose, and I feel like I'm 'in the neighborhood' when I'm in South Carolina.

DD has also jumped on the bandwagon and wanted to go ahead and book flights. I talked her down a bit from that and told her to wait. But, also - she has a cruise and nights booked Easter week. For her, she would fly from Maryland unlike my side trip from SC, so if she didn't get in, she would have to mess with buying tickets and getting reservations.

Whatever happens, it's okay. We will always find something to entertain us!

I'll be trying on the 8th as well. I did call MS, as instructed by the pop up I received at the end of my wait, and spent a substantial time discussing why I was invited by email to sign up.

Then I followed up with a supervisor. Of course not sure if it was a real supervisor or not as they were definitely not skilled in dealing with someone who wanted to 'discuss' what happened. Please understand, I was polite, did not cast blame on the CM, and just wanted to be heard and wanted to see future improvement in how decisions are made and how Members are treated. Employees in those positions often get an opportunity to give feedback and suggestions so they should be listening carefully. My job before retirement was one that included dealing with the public and problem solving as well as soothing ruffled feathers.

I was offhandedly told that it wouldn't be expected that someone at Hilton Head would want to drive 5 hours for a MM, while obviously someone from Vero Beach would.

I carefully explained that I've been doing split stays and stopping at and staying at both HH and Vero (member at both) enroute to Disney for more than 25 years. I've always driven from Maryland, have never flown to Disney (have flown, just not that route) and have used my membership in a way that benefits me, and also that follows the rules.

I expressed that it was unfair to deny a Member to use HH and not be included when Vero was and that I would like consideration given to change in the future.

In conclusion, I will follow up and email Member satisfaction.

Should say - did not expect that they would add me to the list. I don't think they had the ability. But, they did say on my last screen to 'call Member Services', so even though that is the last thing I wanted to do today, I did.

I hope you get in. I am sorry that HHI didn’t qualify, it certainly could, IMO. We often drive down from NJ, staying in HHI and on to WDW the next day.

@Snowysmom - the speculator's underbid made me think of my daughter and the house they bought. Their landlord evicted them with 30 days' notice. This was not even remotely legal as she had no grounds, but she had been causing so many issues my son in law wanted out anyway. The landlord was a sweetheart when they first moved in, but the apartment turned out to be a nightmare. The 60-year-old heating and AC unit went, and my kids were blamed. The bathroom wall just opened up when my daughter leaned on it while she showered, and again the landlord blamed my kids even though you could see the rotted walls when it was repaired. The kicker was when I had to call 9-1-1 to get my grandson out of my daughter's bed. He was wedged between the mattress and footboard, and I couldn't get him to budge, and I was afraid I would hurt him. I learned later this was his favorite game and there was a trick to get him out. I refused medical treatment and took him to the pediatrician to be checked out. He was fine but the landlord was furious I called 9-1-1. Any way they had a real estate agent who found them a house and they could move in immediately. There was NO KITCHEN!!! The cabinets were there, but there was no sink and no appliances. I found out later that the house was a flip that the owner bought for $100,000 and sold 4 months later to my kids for $162,000 without ever doing any work. I told the real estate agent off and used a lot of not so nice words. I was livid when I saw what she put them in and made a huge commission on. Worse the agent was an extended family member. I'm happy you found someone you like and is on your side.

I have decided my house could be the movie the Money Pit. We started ripping up the floors, and I am so thankful we did. The subfloors were rotted out in a couple of places from water damage and some very OLD termite damage. There are no signs at all of termites so that was a good thing, and the joists themselves seem fairly sturdy. We will need to put some patches in tomorrow and then the final paint work and touchups on Friday. Saturday and Sunday the new floors will get in and Monday I will finally get the new furniture. I even found another job for my grandson after this. A friend needs some small jobs done on her hose so she can get ready to sell it. She's having my grandson come out and give her an estimate.

I did get on that meeting from Zoom on Monday, and I am really sorry I did. I have been having a lot of issues with my priest/pastor. I have come to realize that I do not respect him. I love his kids and his wife, but I am not that fond of him. He has made some comments that have really angered me, and he LOVES to compare my "negativity" to how wonderful my mom is. My negativity is disagreeing with him. I would look for a new church to attend but I get to see my dad this way and my granddaughter in law loves this church, so I get to see LJ. I know what I should do but unfortunately it isn't an option at the moment. The one good thing is that when I had to address my "negative" feelings towards something, the rest of the committee was glad I raised the issues so they can be addressed. He basically said I am too intelligent and need to stop questioning everything he says and does and be a "sheeple". That will never happen.

On a positive note it was a very warm and Springlike day here today. We have a date for Anthony's surgery, a month away but we have a date, and his basketball team is 2 wins away from being the Champions and a totally undefeated season. I will be there tonight to cheer them on. Anthony still attends all of the games and is very excited but really wishes he could play. He said he will just stand under the basket and they can pass the ball to him so he can shoot it in. His coach has him cheering from the bench.

Dinner tonight is leftover, leftovers. We ordered out the other day and I got a chicken platter that had 2 pieces. Last night I made linguini and chopped the one breast up and added it to the sauce. I actually have enough left over that we are having it again tonight.
Quick and easy so I can get to the game on time.

Good afternoon from still very cold LA,

I am so grateful for my nightshirt and slippers, otherwise I'd really be cold. I will be extra thankful for summer! I had some hot chocolate this morning and may need to have another cup or share one with my dad. Maybe lol I can find a movie to watch that takes place in warm weather and that would help. Quiet Wednesday. Did get to talk with a couple friends on the phone and reply to some nice emails, too.

No baby news yet. She went all day yesterday with no movement. Finally started dilating this morning, she was to 5 around 9:30a. I haven't heard anything since and don't want to bother...just going to wait until they let me know she's here.

We had a little snow last night which melted as soon as the sun came up and some flurries this morning/afternoon but nothing sticking. It is FREEZING....brr, brr, brr...

Got home from my nail appointment and the dollar tree to my ravens in the Joshua Tree right by the front door. So I thought I'd take a pic to share.

Back from the meeting with the stager. She is bringing in some stuff which is fine. She asked me if I would take out some stuff and I said no. I told her everything that is left will be coming with me when I move and the movers will be taking it for me. There isn't much left to be honest and I am not having my kids have to do even more heavy work to move a chair the stager doesn't care for. It is my house, at least so far. A neighbor told me he has a good friend who is looking to move to our town. He asked me when my house will be on the market. I told him to call the real estate agent and once it is ready to show his friend can have a private showing before the open house. He is not looking for any money off or a bargain, just to take a look first. My neighbor has been very helpful with bringing in my trash barrels and keeping an eye on the house so I am very willing to do this for him. And if his friend puts in an offer and it is the asking price or near, even if it is not the highest, I will give it more consideration than others. I want someone in the house who will appreciate and enjoy the house and the nice neighborhood. Now I really need to find my place. I keep saying that but I am not optimistic about it right now.

I'm not a DVC expert (but I am a serial point renter ) but would figure they'd extend the offer to all DVC properties not exclude one due to distance...that is nuts. I mean - DVC is DVC!

Welp, leftovers were on the menu but we ended up going with BLT's instead. Leftovers for lunch tomorrow - Neither of us got home till 6:15 or 6:30 anyway, so by that time we didn't feel like making much of a effort. Husband has been working in Ocean City, MD for last two days, so he's done with that drive, but tomorrow he has to go up to central/southern PA to pick up a new side by side we need for one of the jobsites, so he'll have another long day ahead of him.

Well, I about fell out whilst giving blood this morning, but I did warn the nurse so she was ready for me!!! haha, it's just my normal reaction and it is what it is. She got me reclined with ice packs on my neck and chest and something to drink and I was right as rain in 10 minutes. Always a good time, having blood work done is for me.

Our potential foster won't be coming to stay with us after all, so we will see what the universe sends us next time.

I got a small roaster out of the freezer, going to put it in the crock pot tomorrow. All I do is sorta position it on a bed of onions, carrots and celery and season it. Then let it go slow and low all day. Turns out kinda sorta like a rotisserie chicken minus the crispy skin. Not at all sure what we will have with it, but I'll come up with something. It's also a good thing to cook when a.) you don't know when your husband is getting home and b.) want to stretch it for a few meals.

Trying to get a quick post in before The Amazing Race.

This morning I went back to my hairdresser for a redo on the front of my hair that just wasn't quite right. She was glad I came right back if I wasn't happy and didn't charge me and wouldn't take a tip. I am much happier with it now.

This afternoon it was nearly 70 so we went for a shirt bike ride along the canal. I also baked another batch of cookies from another new recipe. These were a success.

Dinner was chicken strips, baked potato and a veg. Working on a menu plan and grocery list to go shopping tomorrow.

My son and his wife are looking for a house

DD and DSIL would like to move out of their duplex to a single family home with more space but are having the same problem of pricing and the quickness of the sales.

Lands End has some great suits, and I've found that believe it or not, the Target website has tons of suits!

I used to get all my suits from Lands End but lately they don't fit as well. And I actually have a suit I like from Target. Kohls has ZeroXposure suits that I like.

Are 'we' supposed to get weather tomorrow?
