I like Survivor and Tough as Nails. Used to watch Dancing with the Stars but stopped a few seasons back.

I watched and enjoyed NCIS last night. Glad Gibbs didn't die. Also watched Ordinary Joe. Interesting concept but a little confusing. Not sure I'll stick with it as too much work to watch.
I've watched Survivor since the beginning. It would take a drastic change, like Jeff leaving, for me to stop watching. I have a whole slew of shows that I keep up with. I have five on my DVR waiting for me to stop and watch from just this week. I only have time to watch one an evening so DD and I chose Fantasy Island. NCIS is probably next. I'm glad that Gibbs didn't die either but I can't imagine them killing off the main character of the show. He is the show.

I realized when I looked at the Emmy nominations the other day that I didn’t know ANY of the shows listed. I just don’t watch much TV. So reading along, but won’t be able to offer much insight unless we talk about Dr Pol. :lmao:

Speaking of sports. I know people enjoy pics. DD took this one at Fenway Park the other day from the Green Monster.

DS is going to the game tonight. He got a new job and is going through the HR process now.

Toto is at the groomer. I have a Zoom mtg later today. Laundry, vacuming, maybe pies, pretty quiet day.

Good Morning,

Hooray that at last you got some rest, Lynn! Please keep that up!

Glad to read of shows a lot of you are enjoying watching. I'm hoping for some new choices to come and of course, Christmas movies starting sometime in late October.

Not much going on here. I finally finished most of my early package work yesterday. All but two remaining packages will be mailed on Thursday--Hooray! All I can say is what may seem like a great, cost saving idea of purchasing an item such as the magnets with multiples of them at one lower price, may very well be a bargain. But, remember, you still have to package up and mail the items! That is where the time and expense can factor in especially if what you are sending is not completely flat. As I said next year, very few packages, mostly cards or postcards. I am so grateful this year that I will be able to save on shipping costs by mailing before the increase and as I said yesterday, pass on some extra joy to friends. Of course, in a much more deeper way, I am so very thankful that during Advent, I will get to truly enjoy an extra time of stillness, prayer, and peaceful thanksgiving as I get to truly follow Jesus' star :) That, is precious to me as all of you know because He is.

Happy Tuesday, friends.

I also had a few more pics from our trip. Will post before I forget, and while I have time.

This was from a cart in Italy. I am unclear which cart it was and don’t want to give wrong information (ie not sure if it is a permanent cart or if it was just there for F&W). I found my vanilla/cherry overly sweet and didn’t finish it, but it was nice and cool.

DH’s, chocolate and pistachio.
It had heated up a bit later in the afternoon so they were melting pretty fast.

F30F818B-14F3-4396-B0DA-EF2FE400706E.jpeg

Looking around for more information, this might’ve been the place. (Texting DH as I write this - he wrote back, it was the place, Gelateria Toscana.)

I might try some of the other things pictured in this article next time, rather than the gelati. (DH had been wanting to try it since it opened earlier this year, and we missed it last time as we got there just as it was closing for the night.)

https://www.themouseforless.com/blog_world/dining-review-gelateria-toscana/

That was about it for F&W food pics. I had a few other random ones.

This was DS’s Dole Whip with Rum from the Polynesian. He said it was good.

6BF89FE6-F765-4EC4-8A7F-96E477582518.jpeg

This was the dessert at ‘Ohana where we went for DH’s birthday. It was delicious and we all said we’ll be craving it.
It had been a long time since we went to ‘Ohana so I’m not sure this was the same dessert we had before. But it was really good. Like a thick banana cake with warm caramel sauce and cold vanilla ice cream And the presentation was pretty funny, when our waiter poured the hot caramel sauce from a little pitcher from way up high - almost above DH’s head!

Including an article here that has a recipe with it in case anyone wants to try their hand at making it. We might have to, too! (Hmm, ours didn’t come with any sliced bananas! 😬 )

Also had a funny story I’ll share from ‘Ohana. About halfway through our meal the lady who plays the ukulele started playing sort of near us. (I remember the other lady who must be gone now.) Anyway, it was nice at first, but it became a little like a broken record after a while, hearing the same, sort of loud tune over and over. So it got a little annoying. 😂 DH, in his best Carl Fredriksen grumpy tone, said (just to us), “Do you take requests? Please leave!”. 🤣 Well we were laughing so hard we nearly choked on our food. It will be one of the more memorable moments of our trip, but there were many. (Still cracking up thinking about it, lol.)

This was from the Boardwalk pizza window and was my birthday dinner! I ordered a veggie pizza but DS overheard me and asked to add sausage  , so I ordered half sausage and half veggie. I’m pretty sure that was the first time we ordered pizza there and we thought it was pretty good. It even came in a cute box, and the price was reasonable (for Disney).

This included our birthday cupcakes, and chips and salsa (from a stand near the pizza window), as well as the wine to toast celebrating our 20 yrs of WDW (which we were going to do at All Star Music, where it all began for us, but it was still closed)! It was perfect, and a beautiful evening with my family. :lovestruc (I also said my prayers of thanks and gratitude while there, in that moment.)

I will say the Boardwalk Bakery had some reasonably priced sandwiches and salads there that looked pretty good. Including pics. (ETA Not sure it’s clear in the pic but the sandwich w chips is $10.49.) Normally we stay at the Dolphin in that area, so we usually eat there (which is also reasonable, and they have an AAA discount). Many of you probably know this already  but I thought I’d mention it anyway because a) it’s nice to find reasonably priced things at WDW and b) eating is outside, so for Covid, it’s helpful these days to find decent places to eat outside.

@Pea-n-Me Yummy pics, thanks for sharing

We have a flood watch out for tomorrow,,from 8 am till 8 am Thursday. May get 2-3" of rain. Trash bags are all in the car waiting to be driven down in the morning to save my back. Litter boxes are all cleaned, new ones out and filled. Fish tank clean and shiny again. Going down to the cellar now to close the windows and tilt the washer and dryer forward,,just in case we do get a lot of rain.

Dinner is going to be chicken cutlets, breaded and fried, with chicken gravy, mashed potatoes, and a salad,,if I can find the rest of the energy to do it. Cold feels somewhat better, but back is aching. Just put Icy Hot on it and took tylenol..hopefully it helps

Have a nice evening everyone

Pea-n-me Thanks for the food pictures and report. The pizza looked so good! We stayed at Boardwalk in 2019 and missed the pizza. We did like the bakery for breakfast. Glad you had a good and delicious trip. I hope Toto is settled back and enjoying his family. He is such a cutie.

Lynn, I hope you feel better soon between your cold and back issues. Hope you have a good night of sleep. That will help alot.

Today is a nice prelude to Fall day. It is breezy and around 70. Great walking weather. My right lower back and hip are still a bit wonky and sore but it does seem to be slowly getting better. I am doing a 10 minute yoga workout twice a day plus walking. The yoga really makes it feel better. Walking helps a bit but I feel a bit more sore while walking than doing yoga. But, both were recommended years ago by a PA at my orthopedist's office and it worked then.

Have a nice Tuesday!

Love all the pictures and trip extra shares, Pea, thank you! The ::MickeyMo pizza box is adorable!
Isn’t it? I realized just now that the top part of the box would be good for coloring, with kids. I wonder if they give out crayons?

Glad people enjoyed the pics and trip report. We were all fine, too. (For some who had asked questions, before.)

:hug:Snowysmom, I'm glad your back and hip are slowly healing. Prayers, of course, for a complete recovery, my friend!

Pea, what a great idea! The picture on the pizza box would be perfect for kids to color or sold as a sticker!

Wishing all of you sweet dreams tonight. AuntieMe3, I hope right now you and your DD are having a wonderful time at DCA!

DH and I have noticed with these recent storm systems we’ve had, that our bones are kind of achy, too. I can have pain when a storm is coming, then won’t notice it again for a while. Does that ever happen to you?

Good rainy morning. Dumping down rain here, we have a flood watch in effect till 8 am tomorrow. I just drove the trash down to the street and got soaked just taking it out of the hatchback and setting it at the end of the driveway.

Years and years ago, I had broken my right kneecap in a car accident. The day after I got the cast off, I fell and broke it again. Ever since then, I can tell when a snowstorm is coming, not so much rain. But my back has really been achy the last 2 days, so I guess it was a harbinger of todays weather.

I slept so badly last nite, worst in a long time. I went to bed at 10, was still staring at the clock on the ceiling at 11, and 11:30. Fell asleep around midnite, slept for about half an hour, and woke up again. This went on all night long. I couldn't even fall back asleep like I usually do after feeding the cats at 4 am. Hubby however, was sound asleep with the tv on again, just turned it off and he went back to sleep again. Going to lay on the couch and see if I can doze, but I doubt it.

No plans for the day except to make a grocery list for tomorrow. No point in washing the kitchen floor or rugs till this weather is gone.

Have a nice day fellow QUACKers

I should’ve made that a QOTD. Maybe I will anyway

QOTD: Do weather (or moon cycles) affect your body with aches and pains?

I’ll further answer that sometimes even when the moon is full I feel weird. I’ll look up and notice the full moon. People think that sounds strange, until you remember that the moon affects the ocean’s tides and such, so why wouldn’t it affect bodies that are made up mostly of water? 😝

i have bursitis in one hip, confirmed by XRay. Sometimes after a long shift of up and down it’s hard to even lift my leg to get into the car. But then I won’t have it again for months and months. So it’s strange. Motrin helps a lot when I do have it.

Hey, today is the first day of FALL! 🍁🍂👻

Wishing everyone a nice day. 🐥

Good morning.

Just back from MD for BP check. Don't have to go back for 6 months. Except, they were out of high dose (old people) flu vaccine so will call when they get it and I can go in just for the shot.

Just got back from a fun, relaxing weekend in Palm Springs with my best friends. The three of us have been friends since high school so almost 30 years.
Sounds great. I am envious of people who have such long time good friends. I've lost touch with all of my high school and college friends.

I strongly dislike DHL. Years ago we ordered DD's college ring as a Christmas gift. Not a cheap item. DHL left it on the front porch, without knocking, where it sat overnight in a snow storm. When I discovered it the next morning, I called to complain. They told me it had been signed for. I asked who signed for it. They said my DD, which I found interesting because she was still at college and not home. Someone forged her name and just left it.

that will be the end of home care,
Have they offered outpatient PT? Some places even provide transportation.

Dole Whip with Rum
Sounds really good.

we were laughing so hard we nearly choked on our food.
I love that kind of laughing, but not the choking. That happened to us in Prime Time Cafe once but more recently in Maine. DH and I each had a drink while eating outside. A man at a nearby table had a significant butt crack showing. We were like 10 year old boys giggling away,

This concludes my mini-trip report!
Did you do anything but eat? Not that there's anything wrong with that. :rotfl2:

QOTD: Do weather (or moon cycles) affect your body with aches and pains?
Not really. In PT school we were told that it was a myth, that weather did not cause joint pain. However, in my 45 years in practice, I found many people who were definitely affected by the weather.

Good Wednesday morning! :butterfly

It's a rainy day here. Tried to sneak out for a little walk at work and didn't make it very far at all :sad2:. The hospital where I work is opening a new wing/building/addition for critical children and babies. They're short staff in the EVS division so they sent out a hospital-wide email asking for volunteers for the next 3 days in 2 hr. shifts to help with cleaning. I signed up for 8-10 this morning and luckily I was smart enough to wear jeans, t-shirt and gymshoes. I was sweating!!!! I brought my work clothes that I just changed into but OMG my hair is a hot mess and most of my make-up dripped off.

All those food pictures are making me hungry as I sit here eating an apple. The caramel cake thing and the pizza, yum!!! I decided to buy lunch at work today instead of packing. One of the choices is grilled salmon w/fruit salsa and I'll get the rice for a side. I had this before and it was really good. At least I have that to look forward to .

Back to work (scrolling through Disboards :surfweb:). Have a good day! :flower2:

QOTD: Do weather (or moon cycles) affect your body with aches and pains?

Honestly, no. My husband has had a major neck/spine operation & a knee op and though he sometimes feels a bit achy it doesn't seem to have much to do with weather rather him overdoing it:sad2: I haven't noticed anything myself, either. My Mother is a huge believer of moon cycles though, whenever we had a mare about to foal 9 times out of 10 it was just before or the night of a full moon.

Hey, today is the first day of FALL! 🍁🍂👻

yippee! Time to get out my Macintosh candle...haha, as if I didn't already have it out:flower:

Have they offered outpatient PT? Some places even provide transportation.

That's a good suggestion - I bet there is some sort of service that would be helpful, worth looking into for sure.

It's bright here, but clouding up. Getting ready for about 24 hours of rain and then some beautiful weather for the next several days. Should be a great weekend to get out and about. I think we may try to hit one of the crab decks before they close for the winter on Sunday.

I've got a acupuncture appointment - my last for 3 months as our acupuncturist is going for some extended training - I think I may supplement with a massage or two over the next few months.

I think this evening will be grilled chicken breast w/ a spinach salad.

Happy Fall 🍁

Carol, the only thing I will always like about DHL is those were my Grandma's initials. I remember soon after she passed away, I contacted DHL and a kind lady who worked there sent me one of their trucks in toy form. I have since sent that very truck onto some other family who collect toy cars. I never did get the package yesterday but am honestly not sure this ever will come! This was the single magnet I ordered from Amazon that came from Shanghai! I did not know that, of course, when I ordered. Long ago, Amazon refunded me the money for this item because tracking clearly shows it was returned to Shanghai! Amazon and I agreed it most likely would not be getting to me! Today, it says coming by "October 13th." LOL, I'll let all of you know if this ever does show up. Good thing, I don't potentially need this until Father's Day, 2022! Yes, you read that right. When I was customizing the 10 magnets I did receive, I had wanted to include one Father's Day design to save for my dad for next year. I finally found a cute image that worked better as a circle than rectangle which is why I decided to order this one round magnet. If it ever comes, great and if not, that's okay, too, as I said Amazon gave me my money back already and lol Father's Day is a long time away! :D

Lynn, :( That was not what I was hoping to read this morning--that you had a bad night's sleep that is. Lately I seem to either fall much more quickly asleep than I ever did and pretty much stay asleep (outside of getting up once or twice) for 5 or so solid hours. Then by 4:30 or 5 I feel more up. I often try to read for a time and then catch as I can another hours worth of sleep. Could be the warmer weather, time of life change moving closer to a transition, the plague, or all three lol! I am so grateful for the rest I do get and pray, my friend, you will soon find sleep much easier!

QOTD: Do weather (or moon cycles) affect your body with aches and pains?

Good question, Pea. As I shared humidity does affect me. Otherwise I'm more affected later in the year when it gets dark so early. Thank God not with aches and pains just sometimes feeling a bit more tired or as though a day just has to be further along than it really is.

🌼to all and I will check in later.

Did you do anything but eat? Not that there's anything wrong with that. :rotfl2:
:lmao: One would question that with my pics, wouldn’t they, lol. Yes, we did plenty! We swam every day, we biked (brought our own), we bombed around in our golf cart (till 2am a couple of times, what a blast!), we visited other resorts and areas including Disney Springs, shopped, and our favorite thing, we visited the Tri Circle D Ranch twice to be with the Disney horses! :lovestruc That was my favorite activity this trip, but we really enjoyed all of the serenity and nature the Fort had to offer, especially now, personally (since work has been so stressful). We had a cabin so we went grocery shopping and ate a relatively healthy breakfast every morning :teeth: and grilled out there, etc. I actually didn’t take as many pictures this trip as I usually do, other than of the fam, but I know people like the food pics so I did concentrate a little more on them. :goodvibes We only went to a park one day, and that was Epcot, just for Food and Wine. I think it will go down as one of our favorite trips, and we all wish we were back there already.

I can’t post videos here but if I could, there is a hilarious one of DD driving over a speed bump when we first got the golf cart, somewhere around midnight. First attempt at driving the thing even though she does golf a little w DS and drives one on occasion. This was different, though, on a paved, unfamiliar road, with bumps, in the dark, etc. She and DH took off and left me in the dust (with the car) when we first checked in and I had no clue where I was going! :bitelip: That place is huge! And very dark! I’m a city girl! When DS arrived a day after us he commandeered the golf cart and it was like having two little kids again! DS was coming from “The Grand” (GF) :snooty: as he jokingly referred to it all week, as he’d splurged for a night there with his girlfriend before she had to leave. So he wanted to not like “The Fort” pluto: after coming from “The Grand”:snooty: but truth was, he freakin’ loved it!:drive::rotfl2:We’re going to put a slideshow together of our trip to music, ie Disney songs. Taking ideas on which songs to use if anyone wants to chime in! (Will probably need three or four!)
