Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

@tazdev3225 Sending prayers to you and your family.

It is a cold damp day here today. Yesterday we got about an inch of snow. The roads were a sloppy slushy mess for a couple of hours. On Monday it is supposed to be in the mid 60's.

I got a hair cut today which was nice. I enjoy talking with my hair dresser so it ends up being a nice relaxing time. Next weekend I will color my hair and hide the white parts. LOL!

Afternoon everyone.

Well my daughter was tested as a formality in the hospital. It was positive as we knew it would be. She has ITP or Idiopathic Thrombocytopenia. We found out she had it about 13 years ago. She always had issues as a child when she got sick and the doctor mentioned it offhand once but all the symptoms had gone away so there was no reason to follow-up. Her husband got scared today because her hands were "freezing up". One of the side effects she gets when she has a viral overload is her platelets plummet and she gets these kind of weird events. Thankfully 2 bags of fluids and some IV meds got her BP back up and the symptoms subsided. I picked up her prescriptions and she is home with orders to stay hydrated, even add extra fluid intake as she can. I just wish we could figure out how to stop these issues. She has had blood tests for every known auto immune disorder known and while they all come back off none have ever been decisive. She is my baby and I worry about her. She was a failure to thrive baby and stopped growing when she was 2 months old til she was about 5 months old. I have always had a fear I would outlive her, something no mother she ever worry about, and I think because of it I panic more when she gets sick.

Thankfully the grandsons are both showing mild symptoms and the oldest should be out of quarantine in 3 days.

My church went through the search for a new priest a few years ago and I don't envy anybody in that position. When my church merged with the church we are now part of we both had to give up our interim priests. We were gifted with an amazing man that most of us loved. Unfortunately ONE woman hated him, we always thought because he spurned her romantic gestures years ago when they worked at the same hospital. He was offered a church full time and with a rectory, so of course he took it and about 1/3 of the parish followed him. We got a new interim who was a lovely woman but again a church offered her a full time position and we were in need again. A priest coming in on Sunday for the service only is not a good thing. In the Episcopal Church the Vestry is charged with the search. I was on it the Vestry at that point.

The first step is the Vestry meets to decide what we are looking for in the priest. This led to many heated arguments. Then we start getting candidates in. We have a list of questions we ask to get an idea of what the candidate is like and then meet again privately to discuss our opinions. They have learned when I get really quiet watch out - I am about to explode. We honestly had one woman on the committee who wanted a candidate that would preach that children born out of wedlock were an abomination in the eyes of the Lord! He would also refuse communion to anyone who was gay. A friend knew I was ready to go off so she goaded me. I try to stay quiet when I am getting that angry. I didn't this time. None of my grandkids came from a wedding ring and every single one of them was a gift form the Lord not an abomination. I also have an aunt and a brother who are gay.

I tend to be a little to the left in my thinking because I feel we are all OK. It turned out that 2 of the Vestry members were gay and they didn't know what to say or do. My coming to their defense without knowing I was meant a lot to them. Anyway after that fiasco we realized we needed a candidate that was able to walk down the center aisle to reach both Left and Right. It is not an easy task.

Thankfully we were sent a fill-in one Sunday who came with his wife and daughter. The thought was he could be an interim. He had been an assistant at a church who found the priest they needed so he was losing housing, We had an empty rectors house. He has been with us for about 6 years now. I don't always agree with him and I do love to start some heavy theological discussions with him just to keep him on his toes. He has been a blessing though. We now have a priest and his family from Uganda, a multi-cultural parish and people love the parish.

It is not an easy process to find the perfect candidate and sometimes you luck out and the person falls into your lap. @flyingdumbo127 I wish you much luck and prayers that you find a candidate that suits the needs of your church.

Have a good evening all.

Hubby felt bad for me doing all the yard work , on top of cleaning and laundry, and treated me to a late lunch/early dinner of Chinese. I don't have to cook tonite,,whoo hoo! lol! Off to do a beauty treatment and then crash and relax. Have a good rest of your day!
well...we found some joy the other day in evening yard work....watching a hummingbird take a spritz bath in our hand held misting hose....flew right into the water...so we turned it out into the yard...she bathed for a good 10 mins....preening and then back into the water, than fluffing up feathers to larger size...wife says, after watching a jeopardy answer on hummingbirds...i would bathe also if I had to sit in Lichens all day.!!!!🦜

I will keep your issues in prayer

:hug:Continued prayer, Taz Dev all-round! PM me if you you would like some happy mail. I'd be glad to send you a card. Thank you also for sharing about your church. That is terrible :( The Holy Communion table is one we are invited to by Jesus! It is not "our" table. It is not right, IMO, for any clergy member to decide who can partake of the bread and the cup. This is one aspect I do so appreciate of my current church. Anyone leading the Communion prayer always says we are coming to His table and all are welcome. Since we use non alcoholic grape juice that further extends this. The other thing is we celebrate every week, which is one of the most holy times of our worship service.

Chickapin parterre, thanks for sharing with us about the bathing hummingbird. I'm picturing the scene in my mind :)

Waving hi to you, Usnuzuloose.

Have a good evening all!

I was appalled when that priest said that especially because my church is very open minded about gays. I figure we are all His children so that irked me to know end. As did the comment about children born without benefit of their parents being married.

Thankfully the right man was sent our way. We do butt heads but he was the right person for the church.

My daughter is feeling a little better so the prayers are helping. Thanks all.

Where do people buy men’s suits?

You're South Shore, right? - I'm pretty sure DH and DS have used Men's Warehouse in Hanover (which I agree can be pricey if you don't catch a good sale, but the service was great) and also maybe Merian Brothers in Brockton?

She has ITP or Idiopathic Thrombocytopenia.

I have that as well. My docs found it when I was expecting DS, and they did a routine blood test, but they figured I've probably had it all my life - just mild enough that it didn't cause real alarm. (My platelets definitely tanked when I was pregnant, but they rebounded enough afterward that my primary just monitors them now.)

I'm glad they were able to take care of the flare-up for your DD, and I hope both she and the little ones all feel better soon!

That is it exactly, Taz Dev. We are all His children. Glad your daughter is feeling a bit better. I pray you both get a good night's rest tonight.

Glad you are okay now, PollyannaMom!

The upstairs neighbor sounds like he is wearing heavy boots and just clomping and stomping around! I hope he settles down soon!

Wishing all of you a good night.

Praying your daughter feels better soon and has no complications, @tazdev3225. :flower3: It’s always tough when our kids are sick, even when they’re adults! I was a little out of sorts today, found out a friend of our family’s was killed in a car accident. Always difficult to get that news. 🥲 We did have a nice dinner tonight. Always good to catch up with friends, especially those who are fellow Disney people. Weather was cold and kind of rainy again. At least no snow here. Thanks for the suit recommendations. Hopefully I can corral DS long enough to get him into a store somewhere this coming week.

Good morning everyone. Going to be a sunny mid 60's day, glad the temps are going back up, hated having to put the heat back on!
@Pea-n-Me, sorry to hear about your friend :(

@flyingdumbo127- I would hate to be living under someone who stomped around like that, hopefully they will walk quietly more often.

@tazdev3225-- I hope both you and your daughter are feeling better~~

I have no plans for the day other than to clean both bathrooms, and wash the kitchen floor. If I had enough energy left yesterday, I would have done them then, but I was exhausted. We just watched tv the rest of the evening, and were in bed fairly early.
Have a nice morning all!

Thank you. My daughter did have issues with all 3 pregnancies. Her 1st was I believe when they finally put the puzzle together. She couldn't get the epidural out for 2 days because her platelets bottomed out and they had to give her an IV infusion of platelets to get them up high enough. She was in agony with the worst headache ever. Her 2nd son hat a transference issue with low platelets when he was born. The 3rd was borderline. She has always had odd symptoms when she gets sick because of it.

Thank you bit of a rough night sleeping but she was on Facebook already today so that is a good sign.

@Pea-n-Me so sorry for the loss of your friend.

Thanks everyone for the thoughts and prayers. I think when it comes to my youngest I go into hyper worry. I always had this odd sensation I would outlive her from the time she was little. She was a failure to thrive baby because of esophageal reflux. She was small but she was fierce. She couldn't climb out of her crib so she broke all the slats out by banging on the bottom of the side rail. She chewed a whole in her pack and play and kept pushing with her head to make an opening to get out of that. She had more broken bones and stitches growing up. At 6 she tried to do a back flip off a 3 meter diving board, that's about 10 feet and she wasn't trained on that. Her coach didn't know what to do with her. Most kids are afraid to jump off of that board when just starting out, not my Beth Maybe that was why I was afraid I'd outlive her lol. Her youngest is a lot like her but no broken bones yet.

It is going to be a lazy Sunday per my husbands orders. He said he wants me to just relax and not worry about anything today. I am going to try. Hope everyone has a nice and relaxed Sunday also.

I went through the basement, spare bedroom, and under my bed to find every picture frame I have bought over the 15+ years we have lived in this house. Some were taken off the walls when they broke, others off the mantle when i decorated at Christmas and never out back up. Anyway, with my dining room now painted and new floors, it’s time to .....decorate. It has been fun to look at all the old photos, but hard to decide which few to display
happy Sunday everyone !

It's only 9:30 and I am tired for the day. Both bathrooms cleaned, bathroom and kitchen floors cleaned, rugs washed, dishes done, all rooms vacuumed. Breakfast made, trash taken out, and defrosted a pork tenderloin for dinner. Waiting for Fed Ex to bring my Chewy delivery and then I quit for the day!

Good Morning everyone,

:grouphug:Pea. I'm truly sorry about your friend.

Thanks, Lynn. The ceilings and walls of this old building are not well structured so it can be loud up there. I'm just glad we know who is living there. When that apartment was vacant, there would be workmen at all hours. What was often mysterious was that it even sounded like a few times water was running possibly in the shower. That was an issue years ago when again that same unit was vacant and someone who was not supposed to be up there was. There is no security gate at the front of the building so anyone can come up to any apartment. An extra reason it's good to know who the neighbors for the most part are. Wow, you amaze me with your energy! You really do need to/should please take care, my friend! Take a break :)

Taz Dev, I pray you do enjoy a relaxing Sunday! Continued prayer for your daughter and grandsons.

That sounds fun, Sparkle! I hope all the photos brought back good memories :)

Wishing all of you a good Sunday! 🌷
