My first solo trip to Japan - Fantasy Springs Opening Day Trip Report (complete 6/10/25)

6/7: Tokyo Disney (DisneySea Day 2 Pt 1)

I don't think I mentioned it yet, but I ended up cancelling my Japan trip for next year. I had everything booked including flights and hotels, early enough that I was able to get everything on points for cheap, and just ended up getting cold feet. I'm taking a lot of time off in Q1 and even though I have enough PTO, I decided I'd rather take shorter trips more frequently throughout the year. Plus I realized the trip would be during my mom's 70th birthday, and it would be pretty rude of me to miss that! I'm at peace with it, it feels like I was just in Japan and there's always the next year!

On with the TR!

I set my alarm for 6:45AM but ended up waking up at 6:30, only at Disney!

Familiar with the checkout process from the DLH, I used the TV QR code to do the bag pick up. I wanted to leave them in my room and have them stored to pick up that evening. My next hotel was the Hilton Tokyo Bay and just weeks prior to my trip they stopped the free luggage transfer service. My plan was to just take a taxi from the MiraCosta to the Hilton with my bags after park close.

It was very easy to set up the bag storage on my phone and I just left them all in my room next to each other. My air tags came in handy this trip for peace of mind though!

IMG_7431.PNG

Elevator selfie! I didn't wear shorts at all this trip except for this day at DisneySea. It was warm and I saw so many people wearing shorts (not short shorts, but modest shorts) so I was comfortable wearing them at the parks. Outside of Disney I didn't feel as comfortable wearing shorts (it wasn't hot enough during this trip to necessitate it) but part of that is due to the public transport and frequent escalator usage. Your bottom will always be in someone's face when standing on the trains or on the escalator, so I understand the urge to cover up more now

IMG_7432.jpeg

The plaque outside the hotel entrance that sooo many people were taking photos in front of!

IMG_7433.jpeg

At 7:15 the line outside of DisneySea looked similar to opening day, maybe a tad shorter, but I was about 20 minutes later so perhaps everyone had just scooted forward by that point.

I could have come even later as I was at the back of the pack again and security wasn't open, but I was up, where else would I have gone! There was plenty of room in the regular non-happy entry line, the plaza was maybe only half full.

IMG_7434.jpeg

This morning was much cooler and less humid, which felt fantastic. The shade made a big difference.

I made it through security by about 7:36 and the lines were noticeably shorter at the ticket gates, or they opened more. These were all of the people in front of me and hardly anyone came behind me.

IMG_7440.jpeg

I ended up moving to a different line under cover to protect from the sun a bit! See how few people were in front of me? That was it! Happy Entry was pretty much just MiraCosta guests at that point so very limited.

IMG_7441.jpeg

The characters came by on their way to the Harbor at about 7:52, though I really couldn't see them from the back of the line.

IMG_7445.jpeg

The gates opened exactly at 8:00 and I was scanned in and through just before 8:02. My plan was to get a Frozen DPA for the evening and then Peter Pan standby at a similar time.

I had no trouble getting a Frozen DPA though the latest I could get was 5:30PM. I was way too early for the evening standby passes as they returned earliest available times, so I made a mental note to keep checking throughout the day.

Since I missed the Arendelle restaurant the day prior, I made sure to set up a mobile order for 6:50PM. Mission successful!

Time to enjoy the rest of DisneySea! I took a bit more time to smell the roses this day, though I still felt a bit rushed in general. I know non-Disney fans will tell you to not spend more than 1-2 days at TDR since Japan has so much to offer, but there's no way a Disney Parks fan will be satisfied with just 1-2 days. I could probably spend a week at TDR! :lovestruc

IMG_7449.jpeg

All of the Fantasy Springs banners were so beautifully integrated. I appreciate that everything was in English :rotfl2:

IMG_7450.jpeg

No line of CMs waving flags on this day!

IMG_7451.jpeg

6/7: Tokyo Disney (DisneySea Day 2 Pt 2)

I hung out in the Mediterranean Harbor area a bit, there were a handful of characters including Clarice and Minnie!

IMG_7452.jpeg

Most people were taking photos of the characters rather than with the characters!

IMG_7455.jpeg

Around 8:15 I headed to see if Journey was open. What beautiful scenery on my leisurely walk!

IMG_7456.jpeg

The perk of DisneySea being so big is it really feels empty in a lot of spots, especially during Happy Entry.

IMG_7458.jpeg

I didn't pass anyone on my way to Journey so perhaps this was a mistake! Where was everyone?!

IMG_7460.jpeg

Oops, turns out it was not open! I'm not sure if it was because it doesn't open during happy entry or it was down. I think the CM told me they weren't sure when it would reopen so perhaps it was the latter.

IMG_7462.jpeg

This shop had so much Baymax! I confess I haven't seen Big Hero 6.

IMG_7473.jpeg

This was what the standby pass availability looked like, I think regular guests were just starting to come in.

IMG_7461.PNG

See all of the crowds, I think that was regular entry guests coming through around 8:20!

IMG_7463.jpeg

Again, I found the America theming so charming and funny. Such an architectural change from the rest of the trip!

IMG_7464.jpeg

My plan was to head to Tower of Terror but I think the line was a bit long (maybe 30 minutes), however Toy Story Midway Mania was showing only 15 so I thought why not, since I certainly didn't want to pay for it (same ride as in the US parks).

6/7: Tokyo Disney (DisneySea Day 2 Pt 3)

I was into the Midway Mania queue by 8:27, probably towards the front of the non-happy entry crowds.

IMG_7465.jpeg

While in line I ended up booking another Frozen pass via standby since the times were returning late enough in the evening, Peter Pan was still returning very early times.

IMG_7466.jpeg

I'm no expert on the queue so not sure what all was different but there was lots of fun stuff to look at!

IMG_7467.jpeg

I made it onto the ride at 8:42, so overall waited exactly 15 minutes!

IMG_7469.jpeg

Somehow I got over 200,000 and best in vehicle. I don't think I've ever scored that much. Since this trip I learned some of the trips except I usually do worse as a result :hyper:

This ride makes my arm SO sore but it is a lot of fun! The ride itself is the same as in the US parks so definitely not a must do if there's a long wait, but I'd totally wait 15 minutes again!

IMG_7471.jpeg

The line when I left was way longer, so I didn't get in line for round 2. These were the standby pass options at 9AM, as you can see Frozen was gone, so I was glad I snagged a pass while in line!

IMG_7472.PNG

The Tower of Terror line looked even longer as I went by so I skipped it. My tolerance for lines is almost nonexistent!

I saw in the app that Journey was up and already 55 minutes, phew! The popcorn lines also looked long, at least longer than the day prior. I wasn't really in the mood for popcorn just yet, I don't think I even had breakfast at this point :bitelip:

Continuing to wander around the park, I found myself at Aquatopia. Standby was only 5 minutes and that is what I waited! I took the right side, I think there are two courses?

IMG_7477.jpeg

It was mostly cloudy on this day which was a nice change, no UV umbrella needed!

IMG_7479.jpeg

This ride actually spins a lot, and is quite jerky. My mom has bad motion sickness and I think she'd be done for the day if she did this. So be warned! It was a silly ride that would probably be a bit more fun with someone else! Sort of like a tilt a whirl where you'd probably spend the ride laughing hysterically at being tossed around :rotfl:

IMG_7480.jpeg

6/7: Tokyo Disney (DisneySea Day 2 Pt 4)

It was time for some breakfast, so I headed to find a treat I had seen online and wanted to try. This was by the soy sauce and butter popcorn stand which had no line (I wanted to try that one but never made it back, I ended up prioritizing the more unique flavors).

IMG_7483.jpeg

Shortly after 9:30 there were maybe 10 people in line, I waited less than 5 minutes. I ordered the famous Ukiwah bun which has a shrimp filling. I looked it up and it means life saver bun, duh! This was 600¥.

IMG_7485.jpeg

It was served piping hot, and I made sure to not eat the paper this time :thumbsup2

IMG_7487.jpeg

Sorry for the gross cross-section but it is filled with a a hearty portion of shrimp paste which is nice and salty. Overall the flavor profile is a bit plain, but still delicious. Fairly decent size too, I would totally get this again.

At some point I must have picked up a priority pass for Nemo & Friends SeaRider. I scanned in at 9:55 and standby was 15. I don't think the pass was needed though, I don't remember there being much of a line as you mostly are waiting for a preshow. The ride itself started by 10:10.

IMG_7488.jpeg

This ride was very cute, I loved the voice actors who sounded very much like their American counterparts. It's very similar to Star Tours, so another one to avoid if you're prone to motion sickness.

I saw these monkeys near Indy, no idea what they are!

IMG_7490.jpeg

I picked up a 7:40 Snuggly Duckling mobile order just in case. My next free priority pass was for Indy, I had a few minutes so I decided to get another snack.

IMG_7494.jpeg

This time I got the peach raspberry Minnie ice bar, which was 350¥.

IMG_7495.jpeg

This popsicle was delicious and HUGE! Loved the peach raspberry flavor. I loved the sea salt monaka too, so my recommendation is try both! I'm definitely a fruity over chocolate gal :woohoo:

IMG_7497.jpeg

Time for Indy! I scanned in before 11 and standby was 30 minutes, and I was on within 8 minutes. I ended up front row again!

IMG_7500.jpeg

I love this ride, I think the Tokyo version is superior to the Anaheim version but it could just be the newfangledness!

IMG_7504.jpeg

6/7: Tokyo Disney (DisneySea Day 2 Pt 5)

Next up was my free priority pass for Raging Spirits. I'm pretty sure the priority passes were almost all immediate in DisneySea that day, another quiet day outside of FS.

IMG_7506.jpeg

I scanned in shortly after 11AM and standby was 25 minutes. There was a girl in line perfecting her bangs with a compact mirror, LOL!

IMG_7507.jpeg

Like...girl... you know your bangs are gonna be all over the place in a few minutes? :rotfl2:

IMG_7511.jpeg

I was in within 10 minutes, and it was a fun little ride! It was actually quite slow, and the seat was so padded. Usually rides like this are so jerky but it was actually rather smooth for the type of ride. It was very short though, which seems to be a theme of the more "thrilling" rides at TDR.

After I got off the ride, I saw the girl with the bangs brushing them again with her mirror after the ride :rotfl:

I passed by the alien mochi cart and there was no line, but I wasn't in the mood for those at the time.

Next up I headed to Mermaid Lagoon.

IMG_7513.jpeg

It was very quiet, mostly empty and mostly adults. I think everything was walk on.

IMG_7514.jpeg

This area was so pretty! I imagine it's a great place to hang out on a hot/sunny day in the summer.

IMG_7515.jpeg

I got in line for the balloon ride and only waited a few minutes. The view was very nice, I was glad it was short as I think a couple rides on it would make me sick!

IMG_7521.jpeg

I had to get the famous sea salt monaka, which they sold at a cart in the lagoon.

IMG_7530.jpeg

This was so delicious! Very subtle salt cuts the sweet, and the jam went well with the ice cream.

IMG_7531.jpeg

The shell is really soft like a cone after it’s been filled with ice cream for a while. 10/10 recommend. I believe this was also 350¥.

IMG_7533.jpeg

6/7: Tokyo Disney (DisneySea Day 2 Pt 6)

After enjoying some ice cream, of course it was time for a real meal! I wandered around a bit and decided on Volcania near Journey to the Center of the Earth. I appreciated all of the menu pictures! This was a cafeteria style quick service and I chose the special, which comes with a beverage. Despite a bit of a line at 12:15, I only waited around 10 minutes, it moved very quickly.

IMG_7538.jpeg

Now does this look exactly like the photo, or what?! I chose the "orange drink" which I believe is Kirin orange?

IMG_7539.jpeg

I purchased the spicy harissa sauce and forgot about it and threw it away on accident, lol.

This was a unique meal, I had no idea what I was getting but this is what I figured out when looking it during my meal. The entree was a cold dish that had a lot of seafood including scallops, mayo breaded shrimp, and soba noodles. There was a light creamy sauce that was tasty, lots of garlic. The shrimp were great and the scallops tasted more like mussels.

The wontons were good (similar to Trader Joes cilantro wontons) but the greens they were served with were extremely bitter.

The dessert was like an apricot jelly with mango sauce. The mango was fresh, and so sweet! Loved the dessert.

Overall this meal was very large, definitely not for picky eaters but I enjoyed it. Very fresh and not like theme park food at all.

The orange drink was nice, sort of like sunny D or tang but more sweet than tart.

After my meal, why not do a fast ride?

IMG_7543.jpeg

At 1PM, Journey was listed at 30, so I decided to get in line. I think the DPA were a few hours out or I would have just purchased that. At least I got to see the regular queue!

IMG_7544.jpeg

I checked out the app while waiting and saw the longest line in Fantasy Springs was Rapunzel at 45 minutes. The lines were definitely longer than on the first day, so they must have started distributing more passes on day 2.

IMG_7545.jpeg

I was onto the elevator after about 20 minutes in line, so the wait wasn't bad at all. The line was moving pretty steadily. There was a short line upstairs but overall I was onto the ride in just under half an hour.

IMG_7546.jpeg

This time I got front row and it was so much more immersive! Some parts of the ride are a bit scary even if the ride isn't that intense!

There was a cool breeze this day which felt so nice, it was early June so the humidity varied a lot by the day, on low humidity days it was really pleasant. I can't imagine what it's like in July/August though!

I caught a bit of one of the shows, I love that it's mostly adults watching these shows that are obviously geared towards children :hyper:

IMG_7548.jpeg

I hopped into the Tower of Terror line just before 2 as standby was only 25 minutes.

IMG_7549.jpeg

I was into the preshow within 15 minutes, the wait times were simply amazing!

IMG_7550.jpeg

6/7: Tokyo Disney (DisneySea Day 2 Pt 7)

Here are some more photos from the regular queue for Tower.

IMG_7551.jpeg

IMG_7553.jpeg

IMG_7554.jpeg

I was onto the ride in just under half an hour, back row this time. There was a guy in front of me absolutely losing his mind over the ride, it was quite funny!

After I got off Tower at 2:30, I picked up a standby pass for Peter Pan in a couple hours. During lunch I had grabbed a 5:10 Lookout Cookout mobile order, so at this point I think I held a pass for all 3 Fantasy Springs rides and mobile orders for all 3 restaurants in a 2-3 hour time window. Not too shabby at all!

Then I ran into Toulouse! I had never met Toulouse before!

IMG_7558.jpeg

There weren't many people around, so I didn't have to wait long to get a photo that the character attendant took for me. I seriously need to stop bending down in photos with characters :rotfl:

IMG_7559.jpeg

There was no wait for garlic shrimp popcorn as I passed by.

IMG_7563.jpeg

It was pretty good, I'd rate it the same as the curry flavor, below the corn potage flavor. It really didn't taste like shrimp chips or shrimp at all, it was mostly like seasoning salt. I ate most of it even though it was a bit soggy, I'd say I went about 50/50 on good vs slightly soggy popcorn at TDR. Can't complain for the price, though.

I also got an Aquarius from the vending machine, I liked this, it was like a watered down lemonade. I can see why it would be refreshing on a hot day.

IMG_7569.jpeg

I tried to take in the views more on this second park day, but I won't lie, I was really getting the trip-ending blues this day. The last day at Disney is always sad, and this was my last full day in Japan overall. I really never felt homesick on this trip despite being alone, and it went by so fast.

IMG_7565.jpeg

I ran into Thumper and Miss Bunny, I didn't stop for a photo.

IMG_7567.jpeg

I loved seeing such different characters out and about throughout DisneySea! For the ones that weren't near the entrance, there really were not many people around, so it was easy to get a photo if you wanted one.

IMG_7568.jpeg

/
6/7: Tokyo Disney (DisneySea Day 2 Pt 8)

I went to use my free priority pass in Indiana Jones, but it was down. I believe this turned into a multi experience pass in my app, similar to in the US Parks.

At 3:30 I got into line for the sparkling mango tapioca tea again at Lost River Cookhouse, there were maybe 20 people. I swear this was one of the most popular carts at DS!

IMG_7571.jpeg

No beverage ticket this time, ha! I also got the spicy smoked chicken leg, both were 600¥.

IMG_7573.jpeg

The chicken was super juicy and very seasoned, not particularly spicy that I can recall but I really enjoyed this. The dark meat was not too fatty and this felt like a good value. And the perfect size for one person!

The mango drink was excellent just like the day before, and I sure appreciated that it was American-sized :hyper:

Outside Mermaid Lagoon, there was no line for the matcha white chocolate popcorn, just before 4PM.

IMG_7575.jpeg

The chocolate was like a sweet glaze, and the matcha was sweet and very subtle. Overall it was similar to a kettle corn. I LOVED this. It was super fresh and crispy and that makes a big difference. I ate every single kernel, easily my favorite popcorn in TDR out of the flavors I tried.

I like matcha but don't absolutely love it, I think even people who don't like matcha should give this a try.

I'm not sure what time my Peter Pan standby pass was for but according to my notes I scanned in around 4:30 and standby was listed at 20 minutes.

IMG_7577.jpeg

I got to experience the standby queue this time, it was dark and nicely themed though not a whole lot to look at. They were only using a small portion of the queue since they obviously weren't allocating enough passes to reach full capacity yet.

IMG_7580.jpeg
I was into the preshow after about 20 minutes on the dot, in the back, as the priority pass people get to be in the front.

There was a short queue after the show, only a few minutes. I went down the middle lane as I overheard someone saying that car lingers in the lost boys video section a bit longer. I got front row and was on the ride just before 5:00.

IMG_7581.jpeg
I have no recollection if the middle lane made any difference, I'm sure people have already written articles on it if it does

Time for my lookout cookout mobile order!

IMG_7582.jpeg

This time I got the lemon tea chicken for 900¥. I wasn't hungry at all at this point but I wanted to try it. There were not many seats open since it was later in the day. Frozen appeared to be down, based on the app.

IMG_7583.jpeg

The seaweed puffs were much better today, they were warm like little savory mini donuts. Which probably sounds gross  They definitely taste fried but not oily.

Loved the shrimp chips, I didn't really like the lemon tea chicken. The butter curry chicken was 100x better. The lemon flavoring was a bit bitter and sweet, and turns out I'm not a fan of sweet chicken. It was more of a lemon glaze, vs the curry chicken was a seasoning powder, which I preferred (crispier).

IMG_7585.jpeg

The popover was fresher this day than opening day, but it was still too soggy for me. Overall I recommend this snack box as it's fun to eat, but definitely get the butter curry version!

I did like that you can edit mobile order time and food items before your time slot, I was so full at this point that I changed my Frozen mobile order from the expensive meal set to just an apple tea soda so I could still go in and check it out later :rotfl:

Frozen went back up during my meal, but standby was listed as an hour. I was sure glad I bought the DPA for that one!

6/7: Tokyo Disney (DisneySea Day 2 Pt 9)

Let's see if I can wrap this up before I leave on Friday for WDW!

Had to stop and see the beautiful Fantasy Springs Hotel one last time! Seriously stunning, I would love to stay here once just to see the inside.

IMG_7588.jpeg

The way was so beautiful and blue on this day, it made for much prettier photos!

IMG_7595.jpeg

I got into the Rapunzel standby line just after 5:37, standby was listed at 35 minutes. I was on a bit of a tight schedule with having timed passes instead of the VP passport, but TDR wait times were usually pretty accurate. The line was constantly moving which was nice, I saw very few people walking through the priority lane.

IMG_7599.jpeg

This queue is more interesting and has a lot more props than Peter Pan's standby queue.

IMG_7600.jpeg

Not sure I'd ever suggest waiting in a standby queue over the priority lane, but at least there was some stuff to look at!

IMG_7601.jpeg

I reached the merge point after 22 minutes in line! It looked like the FS passport wristbands were a different color than the previous day.

IMG_7605.jpeg

I ended up in the second row on the right side this time, waiting about 25 minutes total. I noticed more Pascals on this ride through!

IMG_7607.jpeg

A few more ride pics...

IMG_7609.jpeg

IMG_7611.jpeg

IMG_7614.jpeg

6/7: Tokyo Disney (DisneySea Day 2 Pt 10)

I don't think I saw anyone getting Oaken's when I was there, to be fair, I skipped it as well

IMG_7615.jpeg

The ground artwork was beautiful throughout Fantasy Springs.

IMG_7617.jpeg

I scanned into frozen at 6:14 with my DPA, standby had dropped to 40 minutes. Such a richly themed queue.

IMG_7618.jpeg

The queue at WDW for Frozen seems so uninspired in comparison!

IMG_7619.jpeg

This was the longest priority pass wait I experienced, but I was still on the ride in less than 10 minutes.

IMG_7620.jpeg

This time I ended up right next to the transformation scene, it never gets old!

IMG_7622.jpeg

The Frozen bathrooms were very popular for taking photos!

IMG_7625.jpeg

This night was so beautiful with the clear skies.

IMG_7626.jpeg

The forced perspective in Arendelle looked amazing.

IMG_7631.jpeg

6/7: Tokyo Disney (DisneySea Day 2 Pt 11)

Time for my Royal Banquet mobile order, which really was just my way of seeing inside the restaurant.

IMG_7633.jpeg

There was hardly anyone there since access was so restricted.

IMG_7634.jpeg

So weird not having anyone order at counters, it was like a ghost town!

IMG_7635.jpeg

Tons of theming in this restaurant, as with the other FS restaurants.

IMG_7636.jpeg

So many details everywhere!

IMG_7637.jpeg

What I really liked about the FS restaurants is they were all so different, with completely different menus. Even if none of the food was that amazing, it was all quite unique, which is fun.

IMG_7639.jpeg

Oink!!

IMG_7640.jpeg

I didn't sit in the banquet area but it was very beautiful, though a bit dark.

IMG_7641.jpeg

The seating was quite full here, and it was very quiet. So different from how noisy the WDW quick service restaurants get!

IMG_7644.jpeg

I had my apple tea soda, which I enjoyed. It's like carbonated apple juice but the tea cuts the sweetness down a lot, definitely would get again!

IMG_7645.jpeg

They were very serious about checking mobile orders here on Day 2, they made me click the "I'm here" button and scroll on the screen before they allowed me in to make sure it wasn't a screenshot!

6/7: Tokyo Disney (DisneySea Day 2 Pt 12)

Done with my three FS ride passes, I decided to cancel my mobile order for Snuggly Duckling, since I had already eaten there and was so full at that point.

I did want to do a little more shopping on my way back to the MiraCosta. As I was leaving FS, Frozen standby was up to 70 minutes and the Rapunzel line was overflowing way outside the queue, almost to the land exit. It was listed at 35 minutes which I found hard to believe...

IMG_7646.jpeg

Brrr, it was a chilly night! Goodbye Fantasy Springs!

IMG_7648.jpeg

I wanted to buy a small Duffy but only found a puppet version in the right size. I ended up buying it for 3000¥ and I'm glad I did, he is just so cute. I also found some apple tea soda candies to bring home.

It was about 7:15 when I made it back towards the front of the park and I realized Believe was about to start, people were camped out everywhere! But similar to Epcot, there is plenty of space everywhere.

I didn't have it in me to get the black pepper popcorn, I was just so tired at this point of the trip. It had been a long two weeks!

IMG_7652.jpeg

I left DisneySea through the MiraCosta park entrance at 7:45PM, no rope drop to close for me this time

I went to the bell desk to pick up my luggage, I had no idea how I was going to manage my two check bags and carry on bag to get it all into a taxi. But then I remembered I was in Japan and not the US, and thankfully they brought it out on a cart and whisked it to the hotel entrance for me.

I used the Go Taxi app to request a taxi with sliding doors, I'm sure the hotel would have been happy to order one for me but I liked being able to pay through the app.

IMG_7653.jpeg

The hotel entrance was very quiet, unlike some busy hotels which can be stressful. There was no doubt which taxi was mine as very few cars were pulling up at that time.

My taxi came within about 5 minutes (GPS tracking on the app was spot on) and the bell services loaded my luggage for me into the taxi. Honestly staying at a deluxe resort is worth this, not sure if they would do this for you at the moderate/value TDR hotels or not.

The Go Taxi app said it was eight minutes to the Hilton Tokyo Bay and about 1600¥ or $12USD at the time. It ended up taking only 6 minutes, it was very close by. My driver was great but man did he punch the gas :rotfl:

The bell services at the Hilton whisked away my luggage from the taxi and gave me a tag to give to the front desk to make sure it got to my room. I was going to miss all this white glove service!

I checked in around 8:10PM and it was very straightforward, front desk spoke great English. The atmosphere was extremely different than the DLH and MiraCosta, it looks and feels like a Hilton and really no Disney vibes. Still, it was a very nice hotel and very clean. I noticed off the bat the clientele was very different, it was all foreign tourists vs mostly Japanese guests at the Disney hotels. Lots more kids running around and being noisy, reminded me of home

I headed up to my room and my bags were delivered shortly after at 8:25. No one gave me a room tour like they did at all of the fancy hotels I stayed at, LOL!

IMG_7654.jpeg

The room was super spacious with a large bathroom. Much nicer than many US Hiltons I've stayed at.

IMG_7655.jpeg

IMG_7656.jpeg

Even fancy lighting in the bathroom!

IMG_7668.jpeg

IMG_7657.jpeg

IMG_7658.jpeg

I booked my airport limo ride back to HND at that point, I selected the 11:24-12:35 bus which picked up at the Hilton. My flight was 4:05PM and I wanted to leave plenty of time, plus I heard the Delta Sky Club at HND was quite nice! The limo was only 1300¥, incredibly cheap.

6/7: Tokyo Disney (DisneySea Day 2 Pt 13)

Tons of room to move around the room, though the twin beds make the rooms in Japan seem bigger than they probably are. I never stayed in a small hotel room this trip so I can't say I had the most authentic Japanese hotel experience :hyper:

IMG_7659.jpeg

Water jug for refilling from the fountains outside the room instead of water bottles.

IMG_7660.jpeg

A snack, which I forget what it was...probably nuts or crackers. This went home with me!

IMG_7661.jpeg

Plenty of modern touches, though the room was lacking a bit in design compared to the Disney hotels, it was certainly functional!

IMG_7662.jpeg

Overall I was satisfied with this hotel, and I think it's a great alternative to the Disney hotels. That said, it's still on the pricier side, especially compared to Tokyo hotels (and especially compared to Kyoto hotels). I rebooked my room like 10x because the rates kept going down, but initially the rates were more like 2/3 of the cost of the Disney deluxe hotels, so not a "budget" option either. I think I got the cheapest rate about a week before check in.

The view totally surprised me! My room was the "TWIN HILTON ROOM PARK" (one of the cheapest categories) which at no point occurred to me it meant park view. It was 27445¥ or about $180 USD for the one night. It seems like rates are usually more like 30-40k so this was a pretty good price.

The Hilton Tokyo is quite close to Fantasy Springs, too bad the entrance is for FSH guests only!

Water jug for refilling from the fountains outside the room instead of water bottles.

A snack, which I forget what it was...probably nuts or crackers. This went home with me!

Plenty of modern touches, though the room was lacking a bit in design compared to the Disney hotels, it was certainly functional!

I stay at the Hilton about twice a year as a Diamond member and always get a box of chocolates. Your welcome snack looks more substantial than what I get.

If you don't mind me asking, did you book using an employee or timeshare rate?

I am a mere gold! I booked the regular Hilton Honors rate. Looking back, it looks like my first booking was on May 10th for 32363¥. So I knocked off 4918¥ by modifying it a few times. I was pretty surprised at this rate as it was showing much higher until about a month out. I actually had booked Toy Story initially, since it was similarly priced to the Hilton at the time.

The hotels I stayed in for around $100 usd a night were all very spacious, in particular the Maihama First hotel had a fantastic room layout. It's pretty amazing to see how much better value there is due to the yen conversion.

Hotels around Tokyo Disney and Kyoto were so inexpensive, compared to Tokyo especially. I booked pretty late so I didn't have as many options but I look forward to planning a future trip and doing more research on other places to stay!

I loved your trip report. The information you provided is very valuable to me. You made me feel very excited for my upcoming trip to Japan 😊
Thank you so much!!! I had such a wonderful time, writing this trip report has been fun to reminisce on it.
