Good Morning :)

Enjoying all the QOTD answers, thank you :)

Prayers for Carter, Carol! I hope your DD's appointment goes well, too.

Hug, Lynn, I'm sorry :( I will pray she chooses to slow down/be a bit more careful on the road.

Still nothing, not even the normal Wednesday weekly newsletter, from my church.

Have a tigger-iffic Thursday everyone:tigger:

QOTD for 4/14: Share one of your daily traditions either solo or with a member of your family.

One of my cats puts me to bed every night. It's the cutest thing! - She will come around a few minutes before the time I usually go to bed, to make sure I'm on track, then once I'm settled in and reading, she comes up on the bed to be petted. She usually gets down when I turn my light off, and goes off to have a snack.

That is funny as I have 2 cats that do the same thing. The littler one, Bug, knows when I am getting ready for bed. I go in and find her curled up by my pillow waiting. She waits till I get settled, then comes to get petted on her belly, her favorite spot. The other one is 1/2 Pint,,and she waits till I get in..then I have to lift up the covers so she can crawl under. she goes all the way down to the end of the bed, then comes back up and sits with just her head peaking out. After about 10 minutes, they both go on their way and let me go to sleep.

All is quiet here too,,still raining on and off, temp is only 52. Just did a long relaxing beauty routine, after I called our wood guy/handyman. He couldn't figure out how I knew about the motorcycle or the accident. (the motorcycle was bought from a dealer,,should have been no issues registering it, but he has to go all the way back down there to have them figure it out. I told him it was my sister in law who hit his car (his insurance co. is totalling it , it's a 2010, with 125,000 miles on it. They will pay him for it,,and give him the car, which he may repair and keep. Says he put 100,000 miles on it and has put in 1 quart of oil and 1 alternator after all the time he's had it. He is going to come and put down our new kitchen floor as soon as he gets 2 rainy days in a row and doesn't have to work on roofs. (he and his brother have a handyman business, and putting on metal roofs is their main job). I got back to my sister in law and told her he's not mad, and for her not to stress..it was an accident..apparently he was in a blind spot in her mirror. He saw her start to come into his lane, but there was another car in front of him and he couldn't get out of the way fast enough. Sister in laws van is going to have to go to a body shop..quite a bit of damage (pic at bottom). Top pic is his old car..bottom is her red van. His has more damage than shows apparently,,needs a new door, new fender, new quarter panel and to be repainted. Sister in law hasn't had insurnace co come and look at hers yet..looks like it needs a lot more new parts :(
That's it from here..have a nice rest of the afternoon and evening everyone!

Car insurance companies are fickle/funny. My mom was helping clean my grandfather’s house , 10+ years ago and a thunderstorm came up out of nowhere. They were inside the house and heard a loud noise. A 60 year old tree from across the street fell on my mom’s minivan and my aunt’s car. It destroyed the roof, but they did NOT total it. They insurance company had it fixed. Then 2 years ago, my dad was driving their new Subaru in the snow. He should have stayed home. Anyway, he slid and hit a concrete median dividing up lanes. Thought no big deal, maybe bent the tire wheel. Umm , no it was over $1200 damage to the tire and whole wheel base under the car. Ughhh cars can be so pricy, but are a necessity ( in most areas)

Back from DD's. Her appointment was routine and fast. So fast she texted to see how things were going so she could stop at Target. Carter slept the entire time she was gone. Then she had him at the pediatrician who thought it was just a cold. Ears were clear. Rapid COVID test negative. He was a little cranky when we first arrived but Grandmom can always make him laugh. He was playing before he went down for a nap.

Stopped at Food Lion for some produce and dairy on the way home then also stopped at the library.

It is a dreary, cold, rainy afternoon here. Temp is around 50.

QOTD My routine has been changed by working from home for over a year. Our traditions now include taking Jasper for a noontime walk every day the weather allows it. We walk in the afternoon once work is done. We have also go out to dinner on Friday nights and have for many years. During the shutdowns we got takeout from our favorite family owned restaurants. I read the Sunday paper with breakfast. When I go to bed Jasper comes in and gets settled on his bed.

Good afternoon all.

Busy day here but thankfully I am feeling about 95% normal. I still get tired out of nowhere. My husband got his 2nd shot today and so far no issues. Then we picked up the shoulder wrap I ordered for my grandson with Covid and shoulder issues. He gets out of quarantine next week so long as he appears OK. Stopped by church for the food distribution but they were still waiting on the delivery truck. Next stop was haircut for my husband, he needed it and they trimmed his old man eyebrows. After that a quick stop to the FOP Cop Shop where we got a lawn sign, I hate them but he wanted it, and I got 2 T-shirts for my little guys. Dropped them off in the door at my daughters house and then dropped my husband off. THEN I finally got grocery shopping done. I used the convection part of the oven to make some Pillsbury cookies. I need to adjust the temps a bit but they weren't as bad as my old oven. Now I have a meatloaf in the oven for dinner. I kept smelling meatloaf all week so the oven is getting a workout today.

Whilst we were running around some fool decided to make a right hand turn right in front of me while he had the red ight and I had a green so right of way. I honked because I really did have to brake hard. He then decided to slow down and pull alongside to my left to scream obscenities at me and then sped up, swerved into my lane and then made a fast left into a parking lot. Honestly he was in the wrong but I think I will just ignore these people anymore. My city has an increase in homicides by 35% over last year already, I don't want to be a fatality because of road rage.

Weather is supposed to be iffy tonight and tomorrow and then warm up a bit. My grandson Mikey has a job starting starting Saturday. He will be mowing my uncles lawn every 2 weeks and earning $20. It's a small lawn but it will be good for Mikey. He needs to have some responsibilities. He's on the Autism Spectrum but high functioning. He just has really struggled this year with school being virtual so I think this will help his self esteem. His response was "Cool, the Ice Cream Man is coming around now!" Only my Mikey!

QOTD: I really don't have any daily traditions but I do have a daily routine. After I shower I have 2 cats and a dog circling me. My Reader goes on the charger and then I get my husbands meds out for the day. The cats get a handful of treats and their feeder is checked. The dog gets fresh water, her food bowl topped off (one of the cats has been eating her food but he doesn't like treats) and 5 treats. Chewie is getting too heavy so I have cut back on her treats. After the 4 animals are all taken care of I can finally get my coffee and whatever I am having for breakfast, sit down at the computer for a couple of word games and by 9 AM my husband is down and we marathon watch crime shows. I go to bed around 8 or 9 to read for a couple hours and let my husband have the big TV for his sports. The strokes impacted his vision so I let him have the TV at night. Pretty boring life I lead.

Hope you all have a great afternoon/evening.

:) Carol, Grandma's have a way if saving the day. Mine sure often did.

That is sweet, Snoywsmom, that Jasper goes to bed when you do.

Oh my! Big hug, Taz Dev, and I am also so thankful you are safe! People really need to drive with care!

Church newsletter update: the search is on for a new interim minister who could possibly serve as long as a 1 1/2 years. Once that person has been chosen by the church board, a committee (not the board) will be formed to start searching for someone long term. I am keeping in prayer that the congregation will have input in this! Greater transparency and church wide communication sure is needed!

Sweet Dreams to all of you.

Good morning.

Woke up too early. Hoping to go back to sleep but thought I’d beat Lynn to say Happy Friday!

Good Friday morning all. It rained again, everything is soaking wet. Only going to be in the low 50's again today, and maybe for the weekend, but at least it's supposed to dry out by tomorrow. Grass is going to have to wait till then, not that I am looking forward to mowing again, but it's just a part of the seasonal chores from now till at least October, lol.

Going to try to go grocery shopping today, if hubby's leg is feeling better, if not will go another day. Sister in law said she would go with me tomorrow, but I am not taking a chance on her wrecking their only remaining car (which isn't in great shape), and to tell the truth, I am always scared of her driving, and her hitting our handyman's car yesterday only made me know I am not getting in a car with her driving again.

Hubby was upset last nite. Got a text from one of the managers at work (she always considered him more of a father figure than a co worker). More drama went on in the company yesterday The executive director (who had already given his resignation last week), was all of sudden 'relieved' of his position immediately. The Board of Directors had some meeting and they let him go (as in fired, we assume), noone seems to know why. Hubby wasn't too upset about that, but right after they let that guy go, hubby's immediate boss, who was the director of residential, was also 'let go'. She has worked at that company for almost 45 years so they better have had a really good reason to can her also. Hubby is worried about her and was very upset about it. But the girl who texted him didn't know anymore than that. She just wanted to let him know, so he didn't 'hear it through the grapevine', so to speak. Thankfully someone still keeps him in the loop!

@tazdev3225--glad you kept your cool with that irate driver,,some people just should not be on the road!
@Breezy_Carol--glad Carter's test was negative, and I hope he's feeling better
@flyingdumbo127--I too hope your congregation has some input into finding a new pastor, and soon!
@sparkle78--wow about the tree, sure glad noone was in either vehicle when it fell!

Off to feed the cats, and maybe lay down for an hour or so till hubby wakes up.
Have a nice morning everyone!

Good morning all-
On the road most of the afternoon/evening. Prepping for my afternoon meetings now, just taking a short break. No great plans this weekend, some mowing and some cleaning up. New fence is done, so it's time to rip the band aid off for the dogs and transition into using that full time vs. their old fenced area.

Quiet here today! Sorry for the double post but just came on and saw our thread is second to last, that will never do!

I'm so grateful:sunny: This weekend may even be upper 80's. It will be cold again sometime next week but that's okay. Thankful for the warmth now :) When I moved my car this morning, I got to see firsthand new green growth starting on Evergreen 🌲 Plus some pretty pink flowers nearby 🌺 I'll take a picture in a few weeks when all should be even more in bloom including the purple jacaranda trees .

We are still at 51 degrees,,it's cloudy and windy. We made it to the grocery store today, along with the discount one too. Stopped at CVS and got his new scrip for singulair to see if that helps. Came home and put everything away,,he went to take a nap,,and I got the lawn mowed in an hour and 15 min. The cool temps kept the bugs away , the wind kept me cool, and it made me walk just a little faster mowing, lol. Off to figure out something for dinner, as soon as I feed the cats. They are a little upset that their dinner is 30 min late, lol.
Have a nice evening all !
