Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Hubby has chills and doesn't feel good. No idea where this came from. I came out of Walmart so hot, I felt like I was going to pass out,,apparently they had the heat set too high, people were complaining! Prices have gone up on a lot of things. 2 weeks ago I paid $6.44 for the 20 lb bag of 'generic' bird seed,,this morning it was $10.97? For that price I'll buy the name brand! Eggs were up 1 cent at Aldi's,,milk was up 5 cents. I noticed a few cents up on almost everything :(. Everything is put away, going to have Irish Garlic Sausage for dinner , if he feels up to eating anything. Just have to find a couple of sides. It's mostly cloudy out, temp is 60.
I put 'soundscapes' channel on tv at nite before going to sleep. It's not classical but it's very relaxing. My favorite one on there is a guy named Tron Syverson. --this is just some of what he plays---https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VD0LrtD7BjM&t=732s

Happy Anniversary late my friends!

I'm sorry it's been a busy month and I've been away. I'm happy to see ya'll posting and so much going on and so many people getting their shots! Progress being made!

I have to go catch up on everyone else so I'll just throw all mine out there and go read about everyone else.

1. I GOT TO HUG MY MAMA!! I have a very VERY difficult conflicted relationship with my mom but she is my mama and I never want her to be harmed and I love her. It's been hard year worrying about her and her health mental and physical but we went to Arkansas couple weeks ago for a week and I got to see her and hug her and take her to lunch. I was blubbery mess. I'll be going back in couple months after full vaccinated and so my own challenges resolve hopefully.

2. Matt got his first shot last week and I'm getting my first shot on Monday. This will put all of our immediate family vaccinated, which incredible blessing.

3. Matt's mom is having open heart surgery in couple weeks. I'll be up there as the care support as she is in the hospital since I'm the only one not working full time and have the most experience being patient advocate.

4. I mentioned the last time I was here how I haven't been feeling well. I went back to the doctor and did my scans. Not great news but I guess expected news. My endometriosis is growing within bowel system. It's hard to explain even without all the lady parts how this stuff keeps going and going but it does. My doctor has offered a very experimental treatment that is making me super nervous. I'm going to start a light chemo treatment. It's for breast cancer post menopausal women that need an estrogen blocker. I'm really really nervous thinking about going down this road but my doctor has good point that she can't keep opening me up every 18 months. We will see.

5. I'm probably going back into the office at least part time in May to see clients and help with face to face suicide prevention classes and possible interventions. I have had couple different organizations approach me about supporting their organizations and I'm going to do this on my own time and schedule as a consultant to allow me time to travel to visit my mom or spend more time as care giver to my MIL if needed.

I'm so happy see you all here. It's been a long, long year of worry, fear, tears, frustrations, laughter and growing feeling of connected. I'm so glad to have "met" you all and can't wait until we can do big dessert party with lots laughter!

Smart dogs, Easyas.

I am sure sorry to hear that Lynn. Prayers you both feel much better!

Wow, you posted just ahead of me, Tina. So glad to hear from you! Praise God you got to hug your mom, yay. Keeping you in much prayer, my friend. Thank you so much for checking in with us. Please take care and remember always we all care. Amen to our big dessert party!

Gratitude:
Being much warmer yesterday. Today, a little cooler but not freezing :)
Long call yesterday with a friend
Expected Target package later this afternoon.

Good afternoon all. It is a dreary wet day here. I had to get the grandsons after school and it was coming down in buckets. I actually gave a couple of my grandsons friends a ride home. They would have been drenched.

@lovemygoofy - nice to see you pop in. I understand complicated mom issues. I love my mom but we butt heads quite a bit. Sorry about the health issues, hope the new treatment is helpful.

Glad everyone's pups are doing better.

That piece of music was very nice. I have a very eclectic taste in music. I can listen to Baroque or Classical one second and Heavy Metal the next. Just depends on where my mood takes me.

The knee is a little achy today but definitely better. Just need the bruises to go away. The dishwasher will be checked out on April 1st and then swapped out. Unfortunately I most likely will not be able to get the same one so I have to decide if I am staying with the brand but a less expensive model or switching brands. Things are very back ordered right now.

Today was one of those kick back and do nothing days. The QOTD about names made me laugh. I am horrible with names and always have been. Every Easter we went to my great aunt's house where the whole family would on my grandfather's side would congregate. He was one of 10 kids and all were married with kids and grandkids. We hung out the door into the street. My aunt lived in a tiny rowhouse that was bought by my great-grandmother, the house was literally about 800 square feet, and there were over 50 people there at any given time. I used to follow my aunt around to try and get the names of everyone straight. I had 2 aunt Emma's and 2 aunt Florence's and I could never figure out who was who or what uncle they were married to. We always had a great time though even if my aunt wasn't that great a cook. She boiled pasta in the sauce and made meat sauce separately and somehow even cooking all day the onions were always raw in her spaghetti. I adored her my aunt.

Well hope you all have a great evening.

@lynxstch I hope your DH feels better soon.

Tina, so glad you could hug your mom. That must have been such a great day.

I love the doggie pictures. They are all so nice.

Because of his new found kidney issues Jasper has started his kidney diet food, He does like the canned so that's good. I just ordered the dry so we'll see if he likes that. He has had occasional tremors and mild loss of coordination since being on simparica a couple of years ago. The vet won't say for sure it is the med but I know it started with the med and the last month I had him on it he had so many tremors. But, she can't find anything wrong with him either. The tremors did go back to a baseline but they seem to be increasing a bit now, probably due to old age. I called his specialist to see if it could be the med but he didn't think so. Monday was not a good day for him but thankfully the last 2 have been better. He sees the specialist in 2 1/2 weeks and the vet outlined what they were going to be looking for. Jasper is still doing everything he should be, enjoys his walks, and barks at the dogs going by the house. Whenever one of us goes into the kitchen he follows in case there is food involved. I just think he is an old man dog and will have good days and not so good days, much like older people. As long as he is not in pain and enjoying life we are happy.

The weather has been nice sunny and around 60.

Both DH and I have feeling much better since our second vaccine. Sunday was the worst of it and even then it was needing to rest, drink lots of fluids, and take some tylenol. Monday I was still a bit under the weather so I napped a bit. We made sure we had the right food on hand that was easy to make. Glad it is done.

Happy Wednesday.

I think you put it very good, the travails of life w/ a older dog. Sounds like he’s getting the very best of care!

Woo-Hoo my son is officially a homeowner! They’ve had their offer accepted and will be meeting w/ builder next week.
And we are officially going to have the other half of our house back by this fall sometime!

Sometimes you meet people you really just bond with, and she was one of those people. So that made for a nice weekend.
So nice you had that connection.

@Ruttangel welcome and thank for sharing.

@lovemygoofy Soo happy you got to finally hug your mom.

@lynxstch Hope your hubby is feeling better soon.

@easyas123 Congratulations to your son. How exciting for them!

I wanted to go out and do a little shopping today but I can't leave the dog alone just yet. Still no cone, he's been doing pretty good without it so hopefully we can avoid it. He can be a little bit of a bull in a china shop on the best days so we can just imagine how he would be with a cone on and no one home. :lmao: I'll go tomorrow while DD is off and will be home so she can keep an eye on him.

Much congratulations to your son, Easyas!

I hope both you and your DH are feeling better, Lynn.

Hug, Snowysmom and continued paws and prayers for Jasper! You are a great doggie mom.

Prayers you continue to take care as well, Taz Dev! That is a funny name story, thank you for sharing :)

Wishing all of you a good evening!

Talking about paw prints, I have little mud hand prints across the back of my car..........

@lynxstch, has your DH tried Azelastine Nasal Spray? My doctor sent me a prescription for this because I was all stopped up a couple of weeks ago and my Flonase wasn't doing the trick. It worked wonders for me.

@lovemygoofy, so good to see you! And so glad you got to hug your mama!

I love Spring but it means tornado weather for us. We get tornados all year long but especially so from March - June. We're under a Severe Thunderstorm warning until 10 tonight but counties south and east of us are under a Tornado Watch until 10. First tornado warning/sighting happened about 15 minutes ago a couple of counties over. I won't get to bed early tonight. We're keeping the tv on a local news channel so we can get weather updates. Lil Joe is none to happy about that. I'm glad that DD has a tv in her room that he can watch.

I play that one sometimes, too! I hope your DH feels better soon.

Nice to hear from you, Tina!! Sorry about the continued issues, but so glad you got to see your mom!

Have been forgetting to pop back on in the evenings and type gratitudes the last few days, but I have a biggie today - I got my first vaccine!! Thankful for that in itself, and also for how friendly and efficient everyone there was. :goodvibes

They even gave out buttons:

@Kirby--no he has never tried that. But he has an appt in 2 weeks, and I have written that down to ask her about..thank you!

Good morning all. Well it's morning is about all I have to say. Hubby did not feel well at all last nite. Lost his balance when he got up out of his lift chair, because he forgot to lift it first. Got him up finally, but he was shaky the rest of the night. Then he was afraid to get up in the night unless I was standing next to him, so it was after midnite when I finally fell asleep. He woke me at 2, and again at 4, so now I not only don't feel that great either, I got almost no sleep. And then we have a high wind warning for this afternoon into tomorrow afternoon, with 25-35 mph winds and gusts to 60. We do not need a power outage, not with him needing his oxygen a lot since he's not feeling well either.

Going to try to get out of this 'poor me' feeling I have this morning,,maybe I can get an hours sleep on the couch before he wakes up. That would help me out a lot!
I had no plans for the day, good thing~~

Its 55 out going to be 73, but the high winds are not going to make the afternoon very enjoyable, lol
Have a nice morning all,,thanks for always letting me vent and say what I need to you guys,,you keep me going a lot of days!!

Well good morning to you all -

foggy, dreary day here. I think it's going to clear up this afternoon, and it's mild - or as we say in our house - 'it's a Animal Kingdom type of morning"! We would always start out WDW trips (when we drug the kids down there for week long trips that is - ) on the first full day at Animal Kingdom and it was inevitably always cloudy and drizzling but while cool, teetering on humid.

Kind of a quiet day for me, I've got some errands to run, some banking to take care of. But nothing to pressing to take care of, and no rush for any of it. For the first time in about 4-5 days I didn't wake up at 3:45 or 4AM so I'm feeling like I actually got a good nights sleep!

Oh no ... I get that too in stores a lot, I can flustered very quickly, and everything goes to my stomach. During winter, when outside and then go into a (way too) warm store, I will get sick straight away and feel like passing out too.
Hope he felt better when he got out!

Ugh, since Covid last year we noticed this too, a lot of supermarkets have put prices up for so many items about 3 months into the pandemic.
I get it, but then was not the time, stores were empty and then some prices went up with quit a bit!

I do some catsitting for some extra cash as I don't have a job :( (had one over the holidays, but that's been it for the past 2 years), and I got a new booking last night, and hopefully another one today, just discussing details, so at least that's something extra.

Good morning.

Can't remember if I mentioned that I was trying to get a refund on the insurance premium I had on cruise insurance after the cruise was cancelled. Multiple phone calls and emails without any response. Finally got an email back yesterday requesting more information. That was my first goal of the day, to collect, scan, and email the information back. ✅ Done.

Next up, a haircut this afternoon. First since September and only the second since February 2020. I usually got one about every 8 weeks.

DH's sister's husband is back in the hospital after only being home 10 days. He is having heart and breathing issues, fluid retention, and diabetes. He is 80+ years old and things aren't looking hopeful. DD's sister said they are talking palliative care and hospice so DH is going to go with her to the hospital today, even if he just sits in the car. No telling when he'll be back but it is the right thing to do.

No to try to catch up with you chatty folk. And if I miss something, it is not intentional but I have CRS. (Can't Remember S***)

@lovemygoofy, so good to hear from you, especially the news about hugging your mama.

@easyas123, Woo Hoo for your son!

@PollyannaMom, hurray for the vaccine. And for the button. On my first shot I got a mask that says :Mask up Maryland" and on the second I got a sticker. Need to find a Krispy Kreme for a free donut.

thanks for always letting me vent and say what I need to you guys,,you keep me going a lot of days!!
Always glad to be here for you my friend.
