How wonderful that Cali had extra special care, Easyas. So glad to hear she's also done with her surgery :dog:

Taz Dev, happy to hear your knee is doing better today. I also hope you are able to find a dishwasher sooner than later.

So sweet of you to share your plants, Lynn. I think you should do both: puzzle and nap.

More puppy prayers for your furry friends, AuntieMe3. Good to see you posting, too :)

It's gray and cool here. Dad should be coming home soon from laundry and Ralph's. He's home all day tomorrow which always is a Blessing to know (not have to be concerned about him being out)

I do think the lovely weather needs to chase the black cloud over me away though. I used the dishwasher yesterday for the first time and it isn't working properly. It did clean the dishes but wouldn't drain and I don't think the pump was engaging. Of course they can't send someone out to check until April 1st and I may need to replace the unit. Unfortunately the dishwasher I bought is on backorder til JUNE!!! That means a new brand or a cheaper dishwasher. After 2 phone calls yesterday that didn't resolve anything, a botched delivery and another phone call this morning I am not happy with the store right now. In the mean time I have water sitting in the bottom of the dishwasher that i still have to try and get out. I need a vacation.

Have a great afternoon.

DH (not a plumber, lol, all this comes from a long line of issues we've encountered) said if you have a food waste disposal unit, make sure the 'knockout plug' is removed from inside the disposal unit.

Also, he said, if you don't have a disposal, check the 'air gap'; it's the little cylinder on the sink by the faucet, and a small hose should be connected to it.

check under the sink to see if the drain line is kinked. We had that happen once (had a BIG bottle of Dawn put under the sink by a kid, and it pushed the drain in until it 'bent').

If it won't drain when you put it into drain mode, it might be the drain pump. It's a replaceable part, and it's cheap, but it's a PITA to get to.

The knee is feeling a little better.
That's good - I swear my husband seems to smash up the same knee he had operated on over and over again. It's like accidents are drawn to that side of him!

I did get my tomato seeds planted

We looked in the book we keep to see when we planted last year, looks like it was the end of April. We usually get our plants already started from a local feed store, although we have started a few.

dropping one of our pups off at the vet too

Popular activity today!

Heard from my folks, they both got their first shot this morning, so I'm glad they got the ball rolling on that.

Eldest & girlfriend put offer in on a place yesterday - of course, so did someone else. So now everyone is waiting and waiting and waiting.

Good Afternoon everyone.

I've been busy today, we are leaving tomorrow morning to visit the new grandbaby, we will stay through the weekend. I prepared food to take along for us and the new parents. I made lasagna, cheesy potatoes, corned beef, and three breads.

Next I have to go to the vet(seems like a popular thing to do today) to pick up medication for our dog. He has a couple bad discs in his back and neck. I want to have it on hand , in case it acts up again while we are visiting .

I also got their Easter baskets ready to give a bit early.

Now, I need to pack. Oh! and clean up the kitchen.:faint:

Wow - you were busy, I'm sure they are going to enjoy all of that! I wish I could make bread - I've tried so many times over the years but it never goes right for me. Perhaps I'll try again soon -

Picked up Cali from vet and she's a little out of it as to be expected. Can't eat or drink till tomorrow morning, and that girl likes to eat & drink! I always feel bad for them when they get surgery but I know it's for their benefit. I just wish there was a way to communicate that to them.
:drinking:
Had to deal with a odd guy in the waiting room while waiting for her - he was talking all kinds of nonsense, then proceeded to start to preach to me - which, due to previous personal experiences does not go over well for me...but he was edging closer and talking more intently. He went from fishing to the trouble with the 'folks in charge' in Davos to hitchhiking in Georgia then boom! he started in on me and why I might go to Hell if I didn't follow what he was saying. I was about to have to shut him down but luckily they brought Cali out just then and all's well that ends well...well, except for the poor sap who came in after me and sat next to him!

Good news w/ the fence. Rest of the supplies finally came in and they are 3/4 of the way done! yippee!! They'll be Thursday to finish up - supposed to rain like the dickens tomorrow around these parts. Also good news - our magnolia tree is starting to bloom - is bloom the right word? Flower, it's starting to flower maybe. I'm thinking by Friday is ought to be out fully. I love my magnolia tree, it's species is called the 'easyas123" magnolia...actually my maiden name magnolia.

Got some cherry tomatoes roasting to go along with grilled chicken and salad (yawn).

Off to do some research for my Mother on the dog she said she wasn't going to get again-

Good evening.

We were on page 2!:faint:

Today we drove to Rocks State Park and did a short hike to Kilgore Falls. It is the second highest falls in Maryland and I had never been there. It was about an hour drive from here. Then we went to the King and Queen seat rock formation in the same park. There was a 2 mile trail but we skipped it today.

For lunch, we went to Box Hill Pizzeria, also near there. Have heard the crab cakes advertised for years. They are in a strip mall but had outdoor seating. The weather was so nice we ate there outside. First non-carry out restaurant food since last summer. I felt perfectly safe. Last stop was at Bomboy's Candy, local candy shop with home made chocolates. Got 1/4 chocolate covered butter cream Easter eggs for everyone.

So many things on which to comment.

@PollyannaMom, we still have some dog nose prints on one of our windows and our dog has been gone for a year. Just can't bear to clean all of them off.

I see it was vet day for many of you. Glad Cali is doing well.

@tazdev3225, too bad about the dishwasher. I have no helpful hints.

Eldest & girlfriend put offer in on a place yesterday
Good luck to them.

we are leaving tomorrow morning to visit the new grandbaby
Have a great trip and visit.

@easyas123, glad your fence is coming along. I can't wait until it is warm enough for the grass to get planted.

Speaking of flowers, when we first moved in here 30+ years ago, we planted crocuses around our two dogwood trees out front. Not sure if they cam up the second year, but never again after that. We thought some animal must have dug up the bulbs. Today, what do you knw, but I have 2 purple crocuses by one of the trees. It's a miracle.

We were still full after a bigger lunch than usual so just defrosted some Mexican chicken soup for dinner, which was plenty.

Fingers crossed...eldest & girlfriend are in bidding war on place they made offer on. We talked to them about all the places over the years we've made offers on that haven't happened...this is the first place they've made a offer on, so to them it's a whole big deal. They are resolute in not going over the budge they set which I think is good. They are prepared to walk but I know they'll be very disappointed. We've made it clear they are welcome to stay here until they find the right place, so I hope they take that to heart.

I'd be lying if I wasn't starting to sweat our second shot on Friday-
Not the decision to get the shot, just the anticipation of what we might feel like on Saturday.
Worst case scenario??? We feel like crap for 24 hours, which when you think about it in the grand scheme of things , really isn't the worst thing. I'm not sure what my problem is...I've started making a list of stuff to pick up on way home Friday afternoon - tylonel, gatorade, oj, soup, crackers. Ridiculous.

Cali is resting comfortably, thank you for all the well wishes! It will be hard to see her go.

Nearing the bottom of the page! :(

Waving hi, B&B Good to see you, too :)

Hug, Easyas, Cali will feel better tomorrow. You'll both be glad her surgery is over! Thank you for being such a good pet parent. Prayers for your folks to do okay with the vaccine and also your DS and his fiancee on their house! They sound like they have good heads on their shoulders for not intending to go over what they have budgeted for. That is so important especially starting out!

Have fun with your grandbaby, DazedX3. I am so glad you have a positive trip to look forward to.

Carol, I am not a big candy person (that was my Grandma)! but home-made candy sounds tasty. I hope you did enjoy :)

I'm attaching two photos (one is a close up) of our Spring table. The chickie is fun because depending where you are sitting or standing it changes colors!

Wishing all of you sweet dreams and a good night's rest.

I'm feeling this now..... 🤦‍♀️ 564856

This dog really wants a drink of water. He's just sitting there whining. The water bowl is usually right behind where's he's sitting and we put it up on the counter. He can have some ice cubes in about 2 hours. Last time our other dog had to be put under, I felt bad and gave him a tiny bit of water instead of the ice cubes and he barfed ALL.NIGHT.LONG....way more than the amount of water I gave him...lol So no water for this guy until tomorrow morning. No cone for him just yet....we couldn't get him in the car with it on and so far, he hasn't tried to kick so we may wait until bedtime to put it on.

@dazedx3 enjoy your time with your grandbaby.

@flyingdumbo127 love your spring table. I just put my St Patrick's stuff away and put up a Happy Easter banner on the mantle. I don't really have anything else so I'm going to need to go looking for some other little spring stuff to put out.

Well wishes to everyone who needs them, and all the pets who can use a little scratch! paw:

Recovering after my long shifts, but had a busy day today. Got my haircut and did a large grocery order. Really hadn’t shopped much in a couple of weeks other than quick trips to the store, so that kept me busy this afternoon into the evening. I told my hairdresser I’d help her with her Disney planning so I have to check some things out for her in the next couple of days. Prices in the store seemed higher on everything. But at least the weather was nice so that made me happy today. Picked up some last minute things for the Easter baskets I’m making. I probably got too much, I do that all the time. Tonight we had pizza from Santarpio’s and salad I made at home for an easy meal after shopping.

QOTD re forgotten name. I usually remember faces and situations. If it’s someone I think I should know, I just ask them to remind me of their name (and if necessary, where we met, etc.) and assure them I am terrible with names (which is true)! They always seem to understand. I think it’s how you respond more than not remembering specific details anyway. I have also been in the situation where I’ve remembered someone and they haven’t remembered me. We probably all do both of these from time to time.

That reminds me, I had patients from FL and England this weekend, and it was fun talking to them, especially about the English TV shows with the latter. My FL lady and I bonded and it was sweet when I was leaving and she was going home we grabbed hands (normally it would’ve definitely been a hug!) and said how nice it was (her, to have me take care of her; and me, to take care of her) and that we’d miss eachother. Sometimes you meet people you really just bond with, and she was one of those people. So that made for a nice weekend.

Good morning all! It will be a QUACK'ers day here, as it just started raining and they are calling for it to continue most of the day. Temp is at 55 , stayed there all nite, no wonder it felt so hot in here this morning, lol!

Hubby has now taken to getting up at 4 am, throwing my schedule totally off. I 'used' to enjoy that hour or 2 of just me and alone time. Now even the cats are thrown off. Everyone was sitting there meowing for breakfast, even the outside cats.

@Pea-n-Me I figure I will be seeing higher prices at the store this morning too, with the cost of gas/diesel going up and up, they have to raise the prices sooner or later, I think it's going to be sooner :( Glad Cali is doing well, you are so kind to do what you do for those furbabies, I don't know if I could give them up~~

@AuntieMe3--what a pretty boy you have there!

@dazedx3--enjoy your get away, and your time with LJ--take a pic or 2 of him for use to see, please? He must be getting bigger by now!

Took trash down to the street, got hubby a cup of tea and his greek yogurt with fresh fruit, and I am going to lay back down for a hour or so,,I am willing to bet that by 5:15 he will be in his recliner sound asleep, too bad he doesn't sleep that well when he's actually in bed!
Have a great morning!

Gosh, I feel for you! I need my sleep (and my morning transition time.)

One of those wedges under the mattress that elevates the head of the bed, maybe?

Nope,,tried it, doesn't help. He sleeps on 2 pillows. But his head gets so stuffed up (I think a lot of it is seasonal allergies, since everything is blooming), that he just can't sleep. He takes Flonase, Zyrtec, etc..so there's not much else he can take that will help. Between that and his COPD and heart issue, it's just what it is I guess. Trouble is that since he can't sleep at nite, then he wants to just take naps a lot during the day, and that doesn't help the issue either.

I need my sleep too, since I am the one who has to do everything around here,,and I count on that early morning me time to do stuff that I need to do for me! Maybe I need to start getting up at 3 am instead..:(

Oh! I forgot about that place - I think we went a long time ago, like 15 years if not longer. We need to get back to checking out these places near us - haven't done much of that in recent years.

No cone for him just yet....we couldn't get him in the car with it on and so far, he hasn't tried to kick so we may wait until bedtime to put it on.

yeah, his nose does look a bit out of joint! Our last two bulldogs we haven't had to put cones on cause they are so chunky and short that they couldn't reach the stitches even if they wanted to. I left it on Cali as she is a bit more lithe and I figured I'd better leave it on her since it's not bugging her to much.

Hubby has now taken to getting up at 4 am

It's odd - I've woken up at 3:45 or 4 am for a few days in a row now, I put it down to the time change but my body seems to glam onto sleeping habits, usually bad, real easy so now for some reason I just blink wide awake. I stay in bed and then usually fall asleep after Husband gets up at 5 for another 20-30 minutes but I'm wondering if I just get up at 4 for a few days it will help me sleep past that? A good nights sleep has always been my goal, one I've not reached much!

I have found classical music so relaxing in lockdown.

Beautiful - thanks so much! I'm listening to it now...a nice way to ease into my day at the office.

Good morning everyone. RainRainRain and more Rain all day today. It's really coming down in droves outside my window. No problem for me, I do love a gloomy, rainy day. Of course, it easy for me since I don't have really anywhere to go today! It will be fun trying to convince the dogs to go out mid-day though, and my house will surely smell of wet dog for a few days. Thank goodness Friday promises to be so mild, I'm planning on opening up the house and letting it air out as much as possible.

I've put zero effort into dinner this evening, taken nothing out of the freezer. I'm out of back ups - no pizza in the freezer. It's looking like eggs & toast or mozzarella sticks:( or take out! I'm calling it in - literally or figuratively, this evening. I did promise the dogs last night that they could have a fire tonight so we can use up the last of the firewood we brought up onto the porch rack, so I'm sure they'll hold me to that.

What a day for 🐥 🐤 . Supposed to rain all day. I have a list of chores to do.

@Ruttangel, stop in any time. Thank you for the nice soothing music. Fits perfectly with the intent of this thread.

It will be fun trying to convince the dogs to go out mid-day though,
When we had the goldens, that was never a problem. The problem was getting them back inside.

My weight paid the price for all the fun eating we did yesterday. You would think all the hiked we do should burn it off but apparently not.

Good morning Quackers,

Paws and prayers to all recovering dogs! And hug to their human owners, too.

Welcome, Ruttangel! My Dad is a big classical music fan. Me, not at all. I am glad you find peace in it as well :)Please do stop by again.

Hugs, Lynn, and just prayers, my friend all-around

Thank you, AuntieMe3! Love the cute puppy picture you posted, too.

Hug to you, Pea and thank you always for the care you give to many,

Easyas, I hope Cali is feeling better today and that you and the dogs do enjoy a cozy fire along with maybe a move this evening!

Carol, I hope you did have a good time yesterday.

Wishing all a wonderful winds-day!

Easyas, I hope Cali is feeling better today and that you and the dogs do enjoy a cozy fire along with maybe a move this evening

Thank you...those dang dogs are spoiled, but I'm certain one of them actually smiles as he settles down on the hearth about 6" from actual flame and bakes until he is hot to the touch.

My Dad is a big classical music fan

My husband loves classical, too. Sometimes I'll get in my tractor after he's been using it and he's got the local public radio classical channel on, blaring loud as can be ::yes::

The rain continues here, although I think it's warmed up a bit. I've made the executive decision that I'm not bothering with making dinner. I'm going to get some laundry folded, straighten up a bit, enjoy a soak in the tub and settle down for my Wednesday night ridiculous TV watching pattern, In The Kitchen with David & Mysteries of the Abandoned. Geez I'm in need of a proper vacation.
