Drat & dang - Dukes Hawaiian shirt didn't arrive yet, although one of the two sundresses I ordered did.

Didn't fit. Going back. I sometimes hate clothes shopping, even the petite items can be to long. I usually carve out a day each season to go clothes shopping and try stuff on. Guess I'm going to have to do that, assuming I can find open dressing rooms. Oh well - worse case scenario I can bring home and try on and return. It's what I did last spring.

Husband and I are discussing our garden this evening. Think we will do the usual, that which we can eat as it ripens and that which does good in the freezer to enjoy thru the winter.

Sorry to hear that, Easyas! I have the opposite clothing issue in terms of needing longer sleeves and lengths! I am 5'8" What is so strange to me is in any kind of pants I have to often get "short" because the regular length will truly cover the tops of my feet. I will definitely be waiting post pandemic to go to Kohl's until dressing rooms are open!

Capriottis was yummy. (I had Cole Turkey.)

Guess I'm going to have to do that, assuming I can find open dressing rooms.
DD and I have to figure out where to go dress shopping this summer. My brother's daughter is getting married in Maine in September and it is going to be a La De Da affair. Not even sure where to shop for a dress, Maybe Macy's? DD is working on losing baby weight so we will have to wait until this summer to start looking.

@dazedx3, good luck in your next stage of life.

Nordstroms perhaps? Or maybe a day trip to a specialty shop in Greenwood, De or St. Michaels or Easton or Annapolis or Philly/Main Line?
I'm afraid - when the time comes - I'll have the opposite problem! I've always wanted an excuse to get a proper facinator, and that perhaps one of my boys wedding would be that chance! But I'm pretty sure one of my boys is the type to get married and THEN tell us, and the other is-shall we say, rather more Jimmy Buffet meets The Pigman and the most I can hope for there is a Tommy Bahama sundress & a new pair of flip flops! And I'll most likely be over dressed-

Well, good luck with your future dress shopping - Sept. is a hard time of year, and Maine. Will it be outside? Or inside? I haven't been to a proper 'to-do' in so long I'm not sure my suggestions for where to shop are valid or good!

Hello all! Happy St. Paddy's Day! I looked in my closet this morning and found that I didn't have anything green to wear which surprised me. I usually have a green shirt in some shade of green. I had to settle for a print with a little green in it. Fortunately for me Lil Joe and Lou Lou don't know about pinching yet for not wearing green today.

We had storms overnight, some very strong winds and pea size hail. Lots of power outages. DH said our power was off and on for awhile and I slept through it all, woke up too late to walk on my treadmill before getting the kids up.

I had a very restful time in Georgetown, TX over the weekend with my SIL's. We stayed at a nice B&B, breakfast was good, owner/host was friendly and very accommodating. The place was very clean, didn't see a spec of dust anywhere. I met up with two of my SIL's (I'll call them by name) Jana and Andrea. We met at Jana's house in Cedar Hill, south of Dallas. Jana drove, her mother, Caroline, also joined us. It was about a three hour drive south to Georgetown. There we were shown our rooms. Everyone was in the main house, I was out by the pool in a two bedroom Casita. I had the smaller of the two rooms, we each had our own bath and the connecting door was locked. My bathroom had a small window, about 5" tall and 18 " wide three feet above the toilet with no window covering. Someone 6' or taller could stand outside and look in so I took two small, decorative pillows off of my bed and stuck them in the window. My SIL's laughed about it but I just have this thing about someone possibly looking in at me especially in the bathroom. A couple of years ago on another girl's trip to McKinney, TX we rented a house through VRBO and my room had an outside door to a screened in porch. The door had a big window in it with no cover. I taped paper towels over the window so no one could see in. I seem to have a knack to pick rooms I don't feel real safe in. Patti, my other SIL, arrived a couple of hours later. She drove up from San Antonio, a little over an hour drive for her. It was nice to see Patti. She was diagnosed with cancer and end stage renal failure November, 2019. She is in remission and goes to dialysis twice week. She's also having some heart issues now.

Thursday night we ate at a restaurant called El Monumental. The weather was nice so we chose to eat outside. I don't drink very often but chose to have a margarita. I tell you, it just about put me under the table. When we got back to the B&B I went straight back to my room to go to bed early but then couldn't go to sleep and watched tv for awhile.

Friday we were served a mushroom/spinach frittata with almond rolls and yogurt with fruit. Patti told me at breakfast that she almost called me during the night to take me to the hospital. Her heart began beating way too fast, she is a retired nurse and can read the EKG that shows on her Apple Watch. She said she would call her doctor but she never did. I hope she did when she got home. We headed to the square for some shopping later in the morning.

Georgetown has been voted the best little town square in Texas and rightly so. There are benches to sit on at each corner and sculptures there also. They have a nice assortment of stores and restaurants and is easily walkable. I found two stores that I'd love to go back to. One had hand crafted items. All the artists/crafters were over 50 years old and had to live in the county or adjoining counties. I purchased a couple stocking stuffers and a birthday present there. I also entered a raffle for a quilt. The other store I really liked was filled with goods from artisans from all over the world. I didn't buy anything there but as soon as we left I wished that I had.

We had lunch at Tejas which was a new restaurant on the square. Their specials for the day was tuna or chicken salad. I had the chicken salad which was very good. We checked out a couple more stores and an antique shop then headed back to the B&B to refresh and sat by the pool for a couple of hours. For dinner we went to the Lemon Kitchen. We sat outside at a picnic table, the food got mixed reviews. I had broccoli cheese soup and a spring mix greens salad with pecans, goat cheese,
strawberries and sliced grilled chicken. The soup was grainy and I don't like spring mix greens so I don't know why I chose it. They did have some killer bread pudding though. On returning to the B&B we played Redneck Golf, we're not sure that is the correct name but it's a card game that is played sort of like Nine Hole Golf card game. We spent a couple of hours doing that before turning in. I had insomnia that night and it was 2:00 am before I went to bed.

We woke up Saturday to light rain. Breakfast that morning was french toast with cream and blueberries, a sausage link and yogurt with berries. We headed to a book store/bistro to have a look then back to the square because a farmers market was open. It was very large having three rows of tents on some sides. Lots of merchandise, it was too early for produce. I picked up some beef jerky for DH. The rain drifted away and the sun came out. The farmers market usually closes at 1:00 pm but since it rained they stayed open into the afternoon. We got a burger at Hat Creek, it's a franchise that none of us had eaten at before. It was good. Then back to the B&B to rest a little before Patti's youngest son, wife and two kids came to visit for a little while. It was good to see them. Their kids are the same age as Lil Joe and Lou Lou so I can't wait to get them together. That night we had a late dinner at Tony & Luigis, or rather we did take out. Mixed reviews again, I ended up with a soggy pizza, and an early night. I slept much better.

Sunday we had scrambled eggs, potato casserole, sausage link, chocolate and almond croissants and biscuits with jam. Quite a spread. We sat around and talked for a little while and then headed back to our respective homes. It was so good to get away, can't wait until next year!

Good rainy Thursday morning QUACK'ers..certainly will be a day for us ducks, lol. Calling for 100% chance of rain all day. I know we need the rain, and I need an excuse to not spring clean so I will use that one. Will just clean the bathrooms and work on my puzzle. St Patrick's Day dinner was so good, and the carrot cake I had bought was very very good. We have enough leftovers for at least 2 more meals, so I can plan around that.

@Kirby--glad you had a relaxing weekend..I'm sure it was good to get away and visit with family you haven't seen in awhile.

Webmaster Corey messaged me that he had made some changes to the board with the ads, hoping that it will stop the pop ups, so if you still get them, please let me know so I can let him know!

Have a nice morning all, going back to sleep for an hour or so. Hubby was up and down again all nite long :(

Good morning!

I did it! I had a new appointment yesterday to have blood drawn, and pumped on my medication (of one being Xanax, and then right before the appointment I have some other meds to take too for panic attack symptoms) to stay calm and not shaky / get a panic attack.

I cried, I'm not ashamed, but I did it! Now I'm just stressing for the results *sigh* lol.
The reason it had to be done was there's a suspicion I could be diabetic, which in all isn't the worst, but I overthink, so I keep stressing now there's something more severe they'll find. Such fun being me ^^

When we got out, I put data on on my phone and the McDonalds app gives a notifications saying today only via app, the quarter pounder with cheese only 99 p!
Well, no brainer ... I deserved a treat, haha!

Then this morning me & boyfriend tried getting the new Stitch crashes plush, as we've been Lion King obsessed since 1994 (well, me since 1994, him a bit later as he's younger then me), and it's how we met aswel.
We were both a bit "meh" over the plush, but once in a while we go halfs on an item, so not that bad then, lol.
99% of bots ran away with it I think once again. The Shop Disney UK website is a joke (don't know about the US one), crashes, won't load, etc etc.
So we didn't get it :(

That sounds like a fun weekend!

certainly will be a day for us ducks, lol. Calling for 100% chance of rain all day.

I took the dogs out to go one last time this morning before heading to the office, they stepped out onto the porch and no further

Well good morning one & all. Not to much happening in my neck of the woods today. I'm trying a newish (to us) pasta sauce this evening, Rao's - so that is about as exciting as I expect it will get. I've tried the arrabbiata sauce they have out, so tonight we are trying the marinara. I've got a 90 minute zoom meeting at 10 which will, I suspect, be a snore fest. Luckily this particular meeting is only once per year.

Morning everyone. We are getting rain today. Not my favorite weather but we do need it.

I had the worst case of vertigo on Tuesday. I could only find one position that did not make the whole room spin like crazy. Add to that my grandson and his boss were here for 7 hours working on the plumbing in the kitchen. We had to replace the pipes all the way into the garage. Hopefully there will be no issues as it was a lot of work. They are checking to make sure there are no more issues for the next couple of weeks. The pipes were original to the house so an unexpected expense but understandable. The house was built in the early 1960's. Funny thing is my parents looked at the sample house, which is my next door neighbor's house, when they were looking to buy a house. They opted not to move into a new development.

Yesterday I got to make my first meal in the new kitchen. A variation of Colcannon Potatoes but there are some leftovers for me in case my husband isn't up to eating later today. he gets the first Covid shot today. He can be a baby about things if he has a reaction. I am more worried about a headache as he does get migraines and can no longer take aspirin.

I did remember to wear my Green yesterday although I have been known to wear Orange in my younger days. My 2X great grandfather on my father's side was an Irish activist and was in the precursor to the IRA. He even helped with the early planning of the Easter Rebellion but died before he saw it come to fruition. My grandmother on my mother's side would wear Orange. I had a fun family. My kids had a teacher who was 100% Irish, or so she claimed. Every year my kids were in that school she ordered the students to wear Green on St. Patrick's Day. My youngest daughter, the rebel, would borrow her sister's ORANGE fleece and wear it to class and then the older daughter wore it. That teacher did NOT like it at all. She actually called me about it. I told her they were honoring their Protestant Irish grandmother and to chill. We wear green now.

Today is my youngest grandson's birthday. He is the baby but he is getting so big. He is the funniest little guy, loves to laugh, has an infectious smile and can be such a daredevil. My daughter complains that he is stubborn and wants to do things his way only. I just laugh and ask where could he possibly have gotten that from??

Well I am off to get my husband his shot and hopefully no reaction. Have a great day.

Good Morning Quackers,

So glad you had a nice trip, Kirby :)

Thank you again for contacting, Corey, Lynn. Next time you reach out, could you please let him know that doing a search for smileys still does not work? I miss the ease of being able to do that. Thank you, my friend.

I watched Harvest Love last night which I had DVR-ed on Tuesday. Ryan Paevey was quite handsome and the scenery of the pear orchard (where most of the movie took place) was so pretty and tranquil. I thought the young son of the mother doctor did a great acting job. He was adorable.

It's cool and gray here so far. Wishing all of you a bright and Blessed Thursday :grouphug:

I've muddled thru my zoom meeting and have the rest of the afternoon ahead of me. I brought some soup & crackers for lunch, and I find myself wishing I had brought something a bit more substantial! But I brought in some pistachios as well so that ought to tide me over.
Our rainy day continues, and there is a chance of thunderstorms this evening, albeit a small chance. One thing I love is a good thunderstorm, especially in spring and summer.

The first shot is over. So far my husband seems OK. We did have to wait longer since he is on blood thinners. I am still on the fence because I have had anaphylaxis and one time we don't know what caused it, I had pasta e fagioli at Olive Garden and had a really bad reaction. I have also had a bad reaction to a vaccine so not sure whether I can get the shot or not. I will wait and see how he does with the second. I am just happy he has it so he can start to get out of the house again. He has been on lock down other than drs. appointments for a year.

I have also had a bad reaction to a vaccine so not sure whether I can get the shot or not.

Have you talked to your Dr. about it? I have a cousin with a very similar situation and he had a conversation with his Dr. over it, and they came to a decision together based on his overall medical record. Might be worth the discussion to help you decide and put your mind at ease.

My uncle with numerous health conditions is about to get his second shot and he's over the moon! He & my aunt already have a date to see all of the grandkids  in April! They haven't seen anyone 'in person' since July and some of my cousins live just a few blocks away!

The second sundress I ordered is arriving today, hope this one fits better!

Have a good afternoon everyone-

Still raining here, and it's just a lazy do nothing day. Did get the second copy of papers Prudential sent (but not overnite as they said), this batch only took 3 days from PA to MD. The one that took 44 days got here 2 days ago, lol.

Had purchased a couple of things on Amazon that arrived, and had issues with both. Got hubby some of those fuzzy socks with safety treads on the bottom. One sock had a quarter size hole in it. Contacted Amazon and they immediately issued a full refund. Told me to keep, donate, or throw them away. We are keeping them, hoping the other 3 pairs don't develop holes

Got my bottle of Bath and Body Works Lilac shower gel in the mail today. Amazon Marketplace seller,,only place I could find a bottle under $25 (this one was $19..I hated to pay that much, but that is one of my favorite scents). The cap on bottle wasn't tight, and even though the seller had triple wrapped it in bubble wrap..the bottle had leaked all inside and outside the wrap and inside the postal mailer. Contacted seller..who first offered me a 50% refund..and when I said that was fine..they emailed me again and said they had issued me a full refund. Just checked with Amazon and they said the refund was already credited to my gift card balance. Amazon customer service has yet to fail me!

Just got another one of those McAffee pop ups directing me to another page,,sent the whole address bar to Webmaster Corey..whatever change he's made so far, hasn't worked apparently. He just messaged me and said "We have looked into this many times. Unfortunately, because we would like you to have a good experience. The issue is inevitably on your computer. If that wasn't true, everyone would be getting them, not just a few. I suggest scanning with a good anti-virus and turning on your pop up blocker " Well I am running a good anti virus program (Norton , who I have used for almost 20 years with no issues), I do have pop up blocker on, am running Ad Blocker Plus, and I have Malwarebytes running. I am almost positive it's not my computer..as it's also happening on my phone!

He also asked if I tried clearing cookies, history, and trying different browsers. I clear my history and cookies everytime I close my browser, and I have tried firefox, Chrome and Edge..all with the same result. So I give up, I will just continue to close that stupid pop up everytime it comes up somewhere.

:( Sorry to hear some of you are still having pop up trouble that's awful. I just see wide ads on some threads.

Very glad to hear your DH is doing okay, Taz Dev. ITA with others to talk with your doctor.

Easyas, I hope you do like this sundress.

Lynn, I am glad Amazon refunded you at least. Awful about the holes. I am still trying to find either fuzzy or boot (so they are warmer and won't shed) socks on Amazon and am not finding any. The best socks were from Marshalls over 10 years ago! I may have posted about these already. Nautica Brand. They are completely non binding throughout and very stretchy. They are big on me but better big than small for socks. The fuzzy socks I have on now (the shedders) are not long enough and so I constantly am wanting to tug them up! Oh well.

Gratitude:
Amazon had given me a $5 promotional credit that I just used for a new Love Inspired book.
Dad was able to get some needed items at Target this morning.
Only 2 more days until Spring :)

Good rainy afternoon.

Got up this morning and headed out with DH to his sister's house in PA, about 45 minutes away. Her DH (80 years old) just got out of rehab Saturday after several hospital admissions (Non-COVID). She wanted to get a hair cut so we volunteered to stay with her DH as he is pretty weak. After that we drove through Amish country to a clock repair place to leave a clock. Stopped for a fancy lunch at Wawa and ate in the parking lot. Now home. Could have been a really pretty ride except for the rain. Still good to get out.

Nordstroms perhaps? Or maybe a day trip to a specialty shop in Greenwood, De or St. Michaels or Easton or Annapolis or Philly/Main Line?
I did get my dress for DS's wedding at Nordstrom so that is a thought. I went to the one in King of Prussia mall so maybe there for a larger selection of stores. For DD's wedding I had a dress made for me at a bridal shop that no longer is in business.
This is with DS at his wedding, at Mayo Beach, Maryland. I love this dress.

This is DD's wedding in our church. Much more formal.

@Kirby, glad you had a fun weekend.

@PollyannaMom, that's the same one that I have been getting.

Thanks everyone I did try to talk to my doctor when I was in for the ear infection. He just reopened his office to visits. He didn't seem to hear me or just wanted to know if I wanted to see a new specialist for the ear. My husband has wanted to switch doctors but we have been seeing this one for 30 or so years. When my husband had his strokes he was very helpful. I don't know what to do about the shot. Part of me says no because I HATE needles and part of me wants to at least get the Johnson and Johnson one so I have some protection. I will wait and see how my husband does after the second shot next month and if he has no issues maybe I'll just risk it.

It is such a gloomy day here today with all the rain that I just want to head to bed and curl up with a good book. Not expecting the kitchen to be fully functional this week I have no idea what to do for dinner and I am tired of takeout pizza. I have some leftovers from yesterday and some ChikFilA so maybe some kind of mixed up leftovers tonight
