Good Morning 🐥

Thankful to hear Lynn your DH is doing A-okay! I want a chocolate frosted brownie! :) I hope you enjoyed them,

Feel better, Carol and hope you solve the building mystery!

Taz Dev, hug all-around.

Easyas, small steps are great ones especially out of this plague!

It's cold inside, Dad just left for the laundry mat and said it wasn't too bad outside (I am truly glad he thought so). The two of us have different temperature gauges! So grateful for warm blankets! Dad was offered a one week Prime trial for $1.99 yesterday. We had some Coinstar money leftover. I found a 4 pack of men's and women's fleece gloves that look lightweight. Would be wonderful to have something on my hands at times during the day like when reading on the couch. Hey if they truly fit Dad also, even better.

Friday Blessings to all :)

Forgot to add gratitudes yesterday, but will make up for it today with a big one - my new windows are in!! DH texted that the crew is all done with the inside work, and will finish the outside trim after their lunch break. I am so excited, as a couple of them were really getting bad! We also got heavy duty screens, so now we can open upstairs windows without worrying about the cats. :cat::cat:

@Breezy_Carol Hope your headache goes away.

The day is looking up - no rain AND the countertops are here and being installed as I type. The cats are hiding but I am excited. The backsplash goes up tomorrow and hopefully my grandsons boss will be here to attach the plumbing AND we will be done!!! OK except for some decorating. My daughter suggested that I put up some of my pictures. I am leaning towards flowers just don't know if it should be a collage or individual frames. I am not that talented. My sister in law is but unfortunately she is in Virginia and not travelling up here any time soon. Maybe a phone call if I can ever catch her awake. She works odd hours and I really would rather not have a conversation with my brother. We are and always have been polar opposites. Not in a mood for another debate today.

I really don't like to complain a lot but sometimes it is the only way to accomplish anything.

Hooray for new windows with good screens, PollyannaMom. Dad and I were the only remaining apartment with a screen on our old door. When the doors were replaced, the screen (which had seen better days) was taken away. We have realized that having one was handy especially for package deliveries.

Taz Dev, a flower collage sounds pretty. Perhaps you could create a small collage for one wall and then a few individual photos on another?

I meant to ask earlier whether any of you watched last Christmas time, A Christmas Scavenger Hunt? That's the Friday Christmas movie on tonight and I don't remember having seen it. The description did not immediately grab my interest just wondering what all of you thought of it. I did record and am watching Switched at Christmas (on last night on HM&M) I do not care for intentional deception for any reason. Honesty means everything to me. I also do not think Candace Cameron Bure and the other actress (don't know her name) look like "identical twins." I have enjoyed the moments with their father, the niece and nephew, their dog is adorable, and being introduced to another small town at Christmas.

Gratitude:
Dad is safely home for the weekend and we have clean laundry.
Some nice PM's already this morning.
Spring is inching closer!

I do remember one with a scavenger hunt, but not sure if that was the name. I think the main characters had to design a game that would help people discover hidden gems in their own city or something?

As for the switching one, I though CCB played both roles in that? But I agree with you that some of the “pretending to be someone else” ones do turn me off a bit.

Good catch and thank you, PollyannaMom! CCB DOES play both roles, I just Googled. That is really creepy! What's weird is I didn't think they looked identical but there was also something off about them and now I know why! It's just so wrong to pretend to be someone else especially when children are involved! As a related note, I never cared for that same type of scenario (one actress playing both roles) in The Parent Trap. I will record the scavenger hunt one tonight,

I took some Advil and the headache was gone by lunchtime.

After lunch we went out for errands. DH went into the post office and the liquor store, I went into Bath and Body Works, and we both went into the library. Then when we got home and it was 70 out, we went out for a 2.5 mile hike. That makes three this week. So glad to be getting out again.

my new windows are in!

I remember being a kid and making fun of the commercials where they talked about yellowed kitchen floors and wondering why someone would care. Then I became an adult and these are the things that excite me now too. I can't wait until we get the back yard leveled and seeded.

We had another nice warm day..got to 69. I washed the car, did laundry, and we went and got Chinese for dinner. Was craving it and hadn't had it in a long time. It was good!
I remember that Christmas Scavenger movie..and it was just 'ok'. Candace Cameron Burre isn't my favorite actress, but it was okay for a holiday movie.
Have a lovely evening everyone!

I hope by now you are snug in your home, Easyas.

Glad you're feeling better, Carol.

CCB isn't my favorite actress either, Lynn, though I did like the Christmas movie she was in where she temporarily lived in a semi residence part of a store. I think I prefer Lacey Chabert's movies to those of CCB, Danica McKellar, or Autumn Reeser. I did like the recent movie AR was in All Summer Long.

Keep warm all and have a good evening!

I kind of remember a movie with Candance in it and she’s a high power doctor who ends up in a small town. I don’t think it was Christmas time, it was decent. Several years ago.

handshake - yes, i shook the principal of a local high school’s hand last weekend upon meeting him. I was brought up to shake hands when meeting someone. Just sanitized after, but yeah it did feel weird.

here’s to hoping we all get our spring projects done this weekend, me included

For you rebellious hand shakers....hubby's company was encouraging them to Namaste instead of a handshake last year...

hubby is really the only one in the field, meeting people and he was like I am NOT doing that. If you've seen my hubby, a pretty big(hefty not tall, bald headed tattooed maintenance guy), it's pretty funny picturing him doing that. :lmao: He still shakes hands, he just asks if the other person is comfortable with it beforehand.

My mom is finally home from the rehab hospital today. She still has some medical issues to work out but she's way better physically than she was a month ago and she already has appointments set up for next week to get started with the other stuff.
It's been a busy day trying to help my parents get adjusted at home so I'll be back tomorrow with more from me.

Good morning DIS family--going to be a sunny one, but nowhere near as warm as the last 3. Will only be 54 today. I may still get a few more things crossed off the Spring 'to do' list. It's also the weekend we change the clocks, so just a reminder to those of you who have to--clocks go ahead an hour overnite. One more hour of daylight!--oh..and the robins have returned to the yard in abundance,,so Spring IS on it's

Nothing exciting going on around here. Noticed yesterday that the grass is turning green, and hubby says 'grass is starting to grow, better get the mower ready'. Yeah, sure, I'll add it to my list--spring cleaning, tilling garden, planting seeds, mulching, weeding, etc. How come my list never gets shorter? LOL!

Have a great morning all!

I am on a roll..our bedroom is clean from top to bottom, including windows, ceiling fan, etc. Going to wash and put up my new bedspread and curtains on Monday. I want to install the new blinds first.
The rest of the house is vacuumed, bed is stripped and remade, and the laundry is just about done..and so am I!

Good morning.

Sunny but cold. Other than a grocery order pick up, no plans for today.

A question for you all, not QOTD. When our granddaughter was baptized, we started a charm bracelet with a baptism engraved charm. Now that our grandson is going to finally be baptized, I want to get something for him but not sure what. Any ideas? I found an engravable compass on Etsy.

I like the idea of a compass..there is also one on Amazon (as I don't trust Etsy --have had issues the 2x I have ordered off of there)--here is Amazon link--https://www.amazon.com/Baptism-Compass-Communion-Engraved-Personalized/dp/B07RV6VKPV

Good morning all.

Trip to the town up the road, groceries picked up, new door picked up and brought home, stop at Food Lion on way home to get the fruit & veggies I don't want other grocery store picking out, and homme by 10! Ta - Da! not bad considering the town we go to is about 30 minutes up the road!
Welp Husband walked thru screen door out back french doors last night on his way to the grill, He was carrying chicken and watching a Rick Steves show I had put on. Guess he was so interested in what was on TV that he kept watching and walked thru! So adding a new screen door if we can find it to our spring to-do list :P Chicken survived the fall due to being in foil packets, thankfully because as soon as he went down the dogs got up - they weren't going to leave the chicken untended haha! Husband perfectly fine.

It's chilly and a bit windy out at moment, so I'm going to get my inside housecleaning taken care of, then take Cali for a nice long walk.

Hey - that sounds like my husband! At least the maintenance & bald part!

hmm...not sure how old kids are when they get baptized - 13 or so? How about a nice watch engraved? Or a trip just with just the three of you? Or, if he's much younger - a contribution towards his 501 whatever they call it or college fund? Although that compass might be neat, especially if you think he'll use hiking and/or in boy scouts or something. Sorry, gift giving is NOT my strong point!

Have a nice afternoon all!
