Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

@AuntieMe3, I could have swore that there was someone here that lived north of us like maybe Montana, Wyoming? Oh well, I have the hardest time remembering what part of the country everyone lives in. We used to have the city/state listed by our names a while back. Oh well......:jester:

I'm heading off for a couple of days. Ya'll take care!

Well, while killing time I ordered two sun dresses & a pair of capris. Being of a short stature the dresses might be a hit or a miss, but gotta start somewhere, right? Headed back to FL a week after Easter for a few days and figured I should step up my game from denim capris and a Life is Good T-shirt.

They had it very well organized at the hospital. Had reserved lines going in and out for parking. Had guys directing you to spots, removing the cones so you could park. Radio'd ahead if people needed transport chairs. 10 min before your appt, you just went in the back door, waited till they directed you down the hall. Checked in at a stand, gave name and had temp taken. Directed into another room, where there were 15 tables with people taking info, license, insurance card. Then to a small 'holding' room where 8 people at a time watched a 3 min video. Then across the hall to the auditorium, 8 tables where they gave the vaccines and then directed you to one of 4 rows of 8 chairs to wait for 15 min. While you were waiting (to see if anyone had any reactions), they came around and set up your next appt. Then directed you out the back door, and out to the parking garage. Guys came and removed the cones, you drove out,,and were out of there. Very well set up compared to some of the horror scenes I have heard about. And they had 4 administrators for UPMC come around and thank you for coming.
Stopped at McD's for McMuffins as we hadn't had breakfast and are home..74 degrees at 11:30..whoo hoo!
@Kirby--have a great get away!

Good Morning Quackers,

Stay safe Kirby and we'll see you when you get back.

Easyas, enjoy some FL warmth in a few weeks!

Hug, Lynn, I am so glad your DH's vaccine is over with and the process went smoothly.

We had a thunder and lightning storm here last night briefly. This morning cold and sunny. I am so ready for Summer weather! Truly grateful, always for any weather in good health :)

Happy Thursday to all! 🌸

Lynn, Glad your DH's vaccine appointment went well. It sounds like it was well organized.

I use a phrase alot lately and I am not sure it is local or not. I say, I am a lucky duck or you are a lucky duck. I even tell the dog he is a lucky duck if he has a good day.

It is 56 and partly cloudy here. It is supposed to get into the 60's. It is good walking weather.

They had it very well organized at the hospital.

I feel like that is 3/4 of the battle right there, a good experience folks will share with others. A bad on, and they will rant & share w/ everyone!

First seminar is over, second about to start. They've already scheduled next years for LAS. yawn...I was hoping they'd go back to Universal Orlando like last year. Or San Diego or anywhere else. Oh well. My 3rd meeting this afternoon is about a hour long, and outside and I'm more than ready to get some Vit D and walk around in the nice weather!

Grilled chicken for dinner this evening.

Hi friends.

I woke up feeling ok but then went downhill. Achy, headache, couldn't get warm. Laid around on sofa watching TV, drinking Gatorade, and had some Advil. Feeling much better now. It's beautiful out but not sure I have enough energy to go for a hike. I was texting with a friend who got the second Moderna shot yesterday at the same place and we compared effects. Also texted with DDIL to compare with her first.

We plan to cookout tonight, hot dog for me and burger for DH. I've boiled eggs to make deviled eggs. And I did 2 loads of wash and have them away so not doing too bad. Puzzle done too.

Lyn, glad your DH's vaccine appointment went well.

Have all the windows open getting some fresh air in.

I woke up feeling ok but then went downhill.

hope it goes away soon!

Have all the windows open getting some fresh air in.

This AM I hurried up and washed the comforter off of our bed just so I could let it hang outside in the fresh air and sunshine today, and opened up a few windows as well. Just so glad to get the house aired out.

@Breezy_Carol hope you feel all better soon,,,you had the second shot right? That's the one I am most worried about hubby having side effects from. He's asleep now,,but I assume it's just because he's been up since 3 am,,and not a side effect of the first one. There was only one person in our line who had any kind of reaction,,and he kept telling his wife he was fine. They let him leave, so I guess he was.

We just hit 78 degrees,,I have all the windows open. @easyas123--I just did the same thing with the comforter on our bed too..and I am washing the one from the bed in the spare room as we speak to hang outside. I even washed the windows before I opened them..the insides at least..so that's one small part of Spring cleaning done.

I am a little ticked at hubby's life insurance company right now. They used to get it directly from his employer, now that he's retired, we have to pay it (not the issue I have with them). The issue is he signed up for quarterly payments, we paid Jan/Feb/March by check in Dec. It took them till the end of Jan to cash it..we were beginning to think we would have to pay to put a stop payment on it, but it finally cleared.
Today we get a bill in the mail for April..and it now says he signed up for monthly payments. What gave them the right to change what he had listed originally. He went onto their site to see if we could just pay it by visa. Their choices were auto deduct from bank monthly, or send a check. Took him 20 minutes to figure it out. He's a guy, and a guy who hates dealing with people on the phone, so he does things the hard way. I myself will call and raise you know what to get things straightened out right away.

So he decided to do auto pay, filled in bank info , etc. He had to fill out the whole stupid form again, the same info 3x, which is so stupid, and then esign it in 3 places and send it. He got a confirmation email right after. So then ,he's almost done and ready to sign off, all of a sudden it goes to a page where you can pay by credit card and either pay monthly, quarterly, or yearly??? ..what the heck..why was none of that a choice on the page he had to fill out and sign. Why do insurance company's all make you jump through hoops just to pay them. So he's going to wait till they deduct April's payment from our account, then go back in and change it again so we can just pay quarterly or bi annually by credit card. I would rather pay that way and have protection if something happens. I don't want to have to deal with trying to stop auto deduct from our bank account down the line. I don't see a need to have a 'maze' to navigate just trying to pay a simple bill.

Thats my only complaint about today, so far. I just had to vent..he's tired of hearing me complain about insurance companies..lol!

Take Care, Carol and feel better!🌺

I am happy to read that the weather is sunnier for a lot of you 🌞Please, lol, share some my way :) It is supposed to be 70 by the middle of next week.

Hug, Lynn, I am also concerned about the second shot which my Dad will be getting in a week or so. Wow to 78 degrees that is awesome! Sorry about the insurance hassle :(

Have a good afternoon, friends.

I am feeling much better this afternoon. I laid low about 4 hours and took Advil and Tylenol alternating. Not enough energy to go on a hike but up and moving again, Thanks for everyone's concerns.

Up to 72 today. Ate lunch on the porch and plan to eat dinner there too.

Good morning everyone. We were almost down to the bottom of the page again.

At the moment we have a slight shower, and its going to be sunny and warm again today. We got to a high of 79 degrees yesterday , and it stayed at 65 all nite. So odd to have bedroom window open and ceiling fan on to sleep, when it's not even the middle of March! But I'll take it!!!

Hubby has had no side effects from first vaccine. No redness at injection site, no sore arm, nothing--which I am grateful for!

May do a little more early Spring cleaning (will have to stop saying early, when Spring arrives next week), if I feel like it. May work on my puzzle a bit, as I haven't touched it in 2 weeks. Made some chocolate frosted brownies yesterday, was in the mood for something sweet. Between that, and the smell of the homemade meatballs I made, it smelled like heaven in here last nite, lol!

Have a great morning!

Greetings all.
It is nice outside, not sure of the temp, but supposedly our high is going to be 68, so that is good. Fence guy is on his way to the house to start setting the posts, yippee! Unfortunately it is looking rather wet & rainy next week, so hopefully they get them set and it won't affect putting up the rest of the fence next week.
Weekend is looking good, weather wise and chore wise. I think we may do a bit of clean up outside, and Saturday my BIL and niece are coming over to have a cook out at the outdoor fire pit, and eldest & his girlfriend will be joining us. Nothing fancy, just burgers. Sunday I'm not sure what we are going to get up to - possibly a trip to Lowes or Home Depot to pick out a new front door. Maybe a walk/hike somewhere before the rain & chill of next week settles on us.
Found this on our walk yesterday evening - a lone daffodil (I think) coming up. Makes me wonder what else I might have planted there! It's in the area of my stumpery, which is high on my list of places to start to work on this weekend.

Morning everyone. A little chillier than yesterday but still nice out although I think we are getting rain later.

I am so tired of getting calls from family members that I need to get my husband the vaccine. I understand that they care but it is frustrating because I cannot get him signed up anywhere. My daughter is going to try today. He isn't at the age criteria but he is for health issues. I want him to be able to get out of the house again. Not walking the dog daily has shown a marked decline in his stability and walking issues. Believe me I have tried but Philly is very unwilling to help with it's website.

I have had an interesting 2 days, thankfully I don't work. The dishwasher was supposed to be installed between 7 AM and 1 PM. After 2 phone calls it finally arrived at 4 PM. The countertop was supposed to be delivered between 12 noon and 4 PM. At 5 PM they called to tell me that one piece broke in the truck. They did have a slab at the factory and they would be out next day.

I got up at 6 AM AGAIN to be ready. At 9 AM the driver called with the wrong address. Found my paperwork and we were good to go. Of course we weren't. He called back and said he had my paperwork by mistake, it was attached to his paperwork for the other address. Right now they don't know where my countertops are. I cannot get the plumbing, sink, garbage disposal or dishwasher hooked up without the countertops. My grandson took the weekend off to do the backsplash which of course can't be done without the counters and they were supposed to call me back an hour ago. I am not having a great couple of days to say the least.

As my mother tried to tell me this is just a bump in the road and it will all work out. I said I need more coffee or heads will roll. I do not have my mom's Polly Sunshine attitude. I want things done the right way and the way they are promised.

Well maybe I will go pull more dead weeds. It did help yesterday trimming back my Butterfly Bush.

Hope everyo9ne has a better day than I am having so far.

Good morning 🐥 🐤

Woke up with a slight headache. The house behind us that was having the mystery deck work done, is now having trees cut down. The chipper is not helping my headache. As far as the deck, can't get close enough to check for sure, but the structure is no different. I think they must have replaced everything with composite decking.

I am supposed to be making a grocery list but am doing everything possible to avoid it.

Kind of gray out but not too cold.

@tazdev3225, how frustrating. I hope it gets sorted out soon. And I hear you about getting the vaccine appointment. There should be a way to make it easier and more uniform.

How frustrating! Especially when you had other work planned around it -

Hope your headache is on the way out, but now the 'what are they building' mystery is solved

There should be a way to make it easier and more uniform.

Here Here!!

You guys, the most wonderful thing just happened! I shook someone's hand! It happened by accident, not on purpose and we were both like "this is the first hand I've shaken in a year'! Being in a business where I meet a lot of folks and do a lot of hand shaking, it was bound to happen. But I'm not sorry, I mean it was unintentional, I washed my hand and moved on with life after he left. I feel like I kid who just lifted a bag of candy from the store and is hiding, eating it behind the building! shhhh don't tell anyone -
