Yikes and how awful about the housekeeper, Taz Dev! I remember my Great aunt had a caregiver who was a thief. As a young child sadly, I had some not positive experiences with a housekeeper/home health aide person. She was not a thief just could have been a better person to me.

Chocolate Chip Cookie cake sounds fantastic, Sparkle! :)

@lynxstch As others have said maybe he should just talk with his doctor for reassurance. DH and I both got our first moderna vaccine dose over 2 weeks ago. All we had was a headache, fatigue, and a sore arm. It only lasted a day or so. We don't have issues other than being overweight but we know others who have had moderna who have several serious comorbidities. They did very well with the vaccine.

@dazedx3, Congratulations on your new grandbaby! That is a beautiful name!

I can't remember the last time I had a chance to post...last Monday or Tuesday, maybe? Anyway, I actually just had a really, really good day today. Had a little fun at Kohl's...my MIL's birthday is on Saturday, so I found a very pretty blue polo shirt for her (I just learned this weekend that she prefers collared shirts because they hide her scoliosis - I've been in this family for 12 years and I NEVER knew this!), some clearance shirts for DH in his preferred brand, and for me, a new pair of denim shorts. I'm excited about this because I finally found Bermuda-length shorts after years of finding nothing but short-shorts (or rather, shorter than what I'm comfortable wearing). And the best part is that they are TWO sizes smaller than what I usually wear! I haven't been this size since I was still with my ex (and we split in 2007)!

I don't know if I ever mentioned this, as it's very embarrassing and I've been called a lazy mother by numerous people, but I've been battling my child with the potty for 3 years now. He seemed to like going in his pants and didn't mind being wet and/or dirty. NOTHING we said or did seemed to change his mind. Well, I don't know what suddenly changed, but for almost a week now, he's done all of his #2 in the potty! And he's only had one or two pee incidents (which don't bother me - that's easier to clean than the other ;) ). I'm sorry I'm so excited about this, but I can't help myself. It's been a long time coming and I'm very proud of him. (He also brought home an excellent report card today as well, so I'm definitely having a Proud Mama moment :teeth:

I feel like I've answered the QOTD before, but I think it's that my SIL asked the same question recently in her Color Street group. So my favorite flowers are Gerbera daisies, hibiscus, and black roses. The daisies are big, bright, and spring-ish; the hibiscus is summery and tropical, reminds me of Florida; and black roses for the goth in me that wasn't "just a phase" :)

ETA: I was going to chime in on the vaccine side effects. My MIL had her 2nd dose last Monday and she was fine afterward. My SIL's mother (a 2x cancer survivor) also had no side effects, but her father (with severe lung issues) got the aches and fever later in the evening. By the same time the following evening, he had fully recovered. A friend of my mother's also reported feeling fatigued after her 2nd dose, and had planned to take an afternoon nap but found she didn't need it. She also felt better within 24 hours. So those are some of the reports I can share :)

Those daffodils are beautiful, Kirby! Thank you for sharing with us.

Hug, Apirateslifeforme, so glad you treated yourself to something at Kohl's! I also prefer a longer length of shorts. I have come to realize that sometimes Capris or as Kohl's used to call them Skimmers are a good substitute. I just am driven crazy by Capris as pajama pants (I much prefer full length pants). Longer options are indeed hard to find! Yay Josh! Thank you for sharing the vaccine side effects those you know have experienced. Prayers they are all better now.

Gratitude:
PM's and emails from friends
I am enjoying watching A Harvest Wedding on Hallmark on Demand
Starting to feel better from time of month

Have a cozy and good evening, all.

@easyas123, if it were my mom, she would appreciate whatever you sent. As my mom grew older she worried that no one would remember her. Anything that showed we cared and thought of her brought her joy.

@apirateslifeforme, a good deal at Kohls always makes me happy. I'll have to take a look at those Bermuda shorts. I like them long, down to my knees, too.

And I don't think that you are a lazy mom. Some kids just progress differently. Congrats on the good report card!

@flyingdumbo127, thank you! My nausea finally went away about 11:00 am and I slept all afternoon. But my nausea has returned this evening. Hopefully I'll wake up in the morning feeling a lot better.

@easyas123: Would your mom like something like a cake pop bouquet? That could give her a selection of cake flavors in bite size amounts. I know that Harry & David, Etsy, Goldbelly, and a few other places online have cake pops which can be sent as gifts. But, I agree with everyone else, that she will probably appreciate whatever you send since she'll know it will be sent with much love! :)

Good morning everyone. I feel back to normal today, so my cold is almost gone. Just in time to enjoy the little burst of spring weather we are going to have. 60 yesterday, 60 today, 70's tomorrow and Thursday and maybe Friday! Maybe I will start my spring cleaning, and get some of the things crossed off my list.

We did our taxes late yesterday afternoon, so got those out of the way for the year. to get his lab work either today or tomorrow (probably tomorrow), and do a light grocery shopping whichever day we do that. Also have to call his Dr today and see if they recommend he get the vaccine, which they probably will.

I love the idea of the cake pop bouquet that was suggested by @theluckyrabbit, that one sounds like a winner to me!
Have a great morning QUACK'ers!

@lynxstch First, a  It can be scary to hear stories like that and know you or your loved one is next in line. But it’s well documented that having Covid with COPD can lead to severe lung problems and the need for ventilation. If that happens, things can become catastrophic. Barring anything else that would make your husband ineligible for the Covid vaccine, they will very likely recommend his getting it. Remember, it’s a balance between side effects of the vaccine, and untoward effects from Covid. I don’t post much about my work on this thread, but I have said on some of the Covid related threads here that we have been seeing a lot of problems cropping up in people who had Covid. These are things I would not want to have or have my loved ones have. They can mostly be avoided with the vaccine. This article talks about that.

I received the Moderna series in December and January, as did many of my coworkers. (My daughter got Pfizer.) Some of us were scared, too, including me the night before. (And believe it or not, many have chronic conditions, as well! Sometimes that‘s what led to a career in healthcare!) I have not heard of anyone with serious adverse effects where I am. Sure, there were some with mildly unpleasant effects that were fleeting. But all agree it was a small price to pay for having immunity. Good luck with your decision.

Thanks pea-n-me I have calmed down some. It was just hearing of someone we knew dying after receiving it that freaked me out. What you said makes a lot of sense, and I appreciate your taking the time to post that!

Sister in law just sent me this picture,,knowing how much I love lilacs..now I am on the hunt to find one of these beautiful bi colored bushes.
Kitchen floor was vacuumed and washed, rugs are in the dryer. Laundry is done, and the cats litter boxes were emptied, cleaned and replaced with fresh ones (I keep 3 sets to rotate). I am now going to sit and not move for at least the next half hour.

Its already 60 degrees outside, at 10 in the morning..whoo hoo!!!

picture below the pink/white one is a bush I just found called Tinkerbell--how appropriate for this board, lol!158717442_4047479238617152_8284550029131666493_o.jpg158717442_4047479238617152_8284550029131666493_o.jpg1452851944542.jpeg

Good Morning 🐣

Prayers all of you are feeling better and brighter today.

Should I ever get to live somewhere with outdoor space, I think I will need to plant a tinkerbell lilac bush! That is beautiful, Lynn. I had never heard of such a plant before. It looks a bit like a carnation tree!

Cake pops sound like a unique and special birthday treat! Good to see you always on here, Luckyrabbit.

It's cool and gray here but above all else a beautiful Tuesday the Lord has made. I am most grateful indeed. Have a Blessed day, friends.

Good morning or afternoon I should say for most of you. 😄 I get so far behind when I don't post everyday. So just a real quick I hope everyone that isn't feeling well is feeling better now.

Congratulations on the new grandbaby @dazedx3

@apirateslifeforme Yay Josh....and yay you for all your deals. I too love bermuda shorts and I'm happy to see they are coming back in style it seems...lol before last year, I could never find any that were a good length and I'm short so it shouldn't be that hard to find longer shorts.

Love all the flower photos too.

I'm sure there is more I'm missing but wanna get this posted before the page refreshes like it has been for me or a pop-up pops up...lol I'm on my computer and only have trouble with the DIS when I use it and not my phone.

QOTD....flowers. I really love all flowers as long as they are bright and colorful and smell good. I do have a lilac bush in my backyard that is beautiful when it blooms and I LOVE the smell but they just don't last long enough for me. One day it's beautiful and then next day its already fading away. I have helped my friend do floral arrangements for parties and a wedding before. For the wedding, we did centerpieces, table arrangements, Corsages, boutonniere, and the bouquets for the wedding party. It was so fun, I LOVED going to the flower mart with him. He's hoping to turn it into a business and I could be his assistant but last year wasn't great for that so we'll see how it pans out. LOL

I've not been feeling great the past few days....I'm thinking mostly its anxiety but I've been having heart palpitations so I have an appt set up with my Dr. I cant get in for a couple weeks so I might just go to to Urgent Care today, it seemed better yesterday until I went to go to bed and I'm feeling it a little more again today. I'm sure it may just be anxiety but I'm a bit of a hypochondriac so I'm sure the unknown is probably just making it worse. I keep reading about people that have had covid having all these long term issues and heart problems are one of them soo..... :sad2:

Moorhunhe, hug, in my experience that is so not true. The cream has to be applied a few minutes (at least) ahead of time to give it time to work! Once the area is truly numb (you will know) there ought to be time to do the needle work painlessly.

No, it's different.
There's either a creme that I get myself at the pharmacy, which you need to put on the spot 30-60 minutes before the appointment.
Or, they have a spray which will only work for a minute or so, so as soon as she sprays it on the spot, she needs to be able to put the needle in.

I'm in the UK, might all be different things?

Haven't had my laptop on in days, couldn't be bothered.
Hope everyone is well!
Boyfriend has heard from his supervisors that he should be able to open up his shop again middle of April, which is great news if that's the case! I'm so done with him being in my space, lol. We live in a shared house, so in 1 bedroom really, and there's no escaping each other, lol.

At least the weather is starting to get a lot nicer then 2-3 weeks ago, so that's good ^^ not that I really like going outside much, it's the same old town, and same park everyday really, haha.

@AuntieMe3--sorry you aren't feeling well..sending pixie dust that you feel better soon!
We just hit 69 degrees out..its so beautiful. I have windows open, clean comforters hanging on the line drying, outdoor cats are taking baths out in the sun, and the indoor cats are all sitting in windows staring out. Feels so nice!
