Whew! what a day! It's 7:20PM now and I've been non stop since 6 AM. Oh well, makes the day go by fast. Started at the shop dropping one car off and picking another up. One of my brothers called from the road when he found out the vaccine link had availability again, so I zipped hom and to the nearest computer and snagged him a appointment. Put out a few embers before they turned to fires at work. End of my day saw me at the vet with the foster dog for a check up - she is doing great, infections clearing up and gained 4 lbs! - and as I was waiting to check out a lady came in with a emergency. She was so upset, I felt - feel - so bad for her. The vet techs whisked her pet out of her arms and to the back in less than 45 second. Shortly afterwards they called her back to one of the exam rooms I won't know what happened, but that lady will for sure be in my thoughts tonight...oh, she was so upset. It just really stayed with me.

Was able to open the house up a teeny bit this afternoon when I came home to pick up Cali for the vet appt. Tomorrow looks like it is going to be fabulous! And nothing to do after work but come home and enjoy it. Husband and eldest plotting and planning making bear burgers - not my cup of tea - so I'll have to come up with a alternative which doesn't bother me.

Husband still suffering from on/off upset stomach and very tired. He slept until I woke him up at 6 this AM, and he normally rises between 4:30 & 5 AM latest. Not sure if it's the vaccine or something in his/our head or if he picked up a bit of a stomach thing along the way. Either way I'm going to make sure to stock up on gatorade, tums, pepto & tylonel when we get the second shot. Prepare for worst, hope for best! Eh - I'm sure we will be fine.

I'm tired, I'm going to pour a glass of wine and watch some Pirates of the Caribbean and just veg out. Toodles all -

...why? Because I'm an "oldie but goodie"? :teeth: Some of the DISers on here might remember me....:scratchin
I do remember you!

Felt somewhat better today. Had a med check and doctor thinks I'm just suffering from seasonal allergies. I did get a Covid test yesterday which came back negative. My doctor did caution me though that while we think I am suffering from allergies to keep an eye on my symptoms. She told me that seven days after her negative Covid test she tested positive. Yikes! And I'm supposed to leave town on Thursday for my annual SIL trip. We get together every March and go somewhere in Texas though we did venture to Natchiteches, LA a couple of years ago. It's where Steel Magnolias was filmed. Anyway, my doctor said she didn't see any reason to stay home unless I began feeling worse.

Lil Joe did something really cute today. Carol goes out for a walk and the GKs drive a battery operated jeep. The route is about two miles, Lou Lou can't make it that far without being carried hence the vehicle. Anyway, during the walk Lil Joe stopped the jeep and leaned over and gave Lou Lou a kiss on the cheek. Carol said it was the cutest thing!

Hi quackers.

Beautiful day today. It got up to 68 and was warmer outside than in. We drove into DE and got our DE State Park pass and took a short hike, only 1.5 miles. I was out of shape.

Today I was in a cooking frenzy. I made fruit salad and omelets for breakfast, homemade sloppy joes for dinner, and homemade oatmeal raisin cookies after dinner.

Tomorrow is my second vaccine. I have the Gatorade chilling and chicken noodle soup ready for dinner. My appointment is at 10:48 and I plan to go to CFA for lunch as a treat.

@Kirby, I loved the daffodil picture.

@lynxstch, the Tinkerbelle lilac was so pretty. The way the tree was shaped way different from any lilac I've seen.

The front of the house looks so naked without the old bushes. We but stakes out where we want new evergreens planted. And the landscaper is also going to level and seed the backyard, aka mud pit, when the temperature is warm enough.

Gratitudes:
Springtime
COVID shot two tomorrow
That I got the cooking bug today.

Good morning all! Frosty 33 degree start to what is promising to turn out to be a near 70 early Spring day--can't wait! Going to do grocery shopping this morning and maybe get his lab work done (finally). He still can't decide if he wants to just wait to get it at the diagnostic center tomorrow since we will already be at the hospital, or just go to LabCorp today . And they say women are indecisive? lol!

Hard to believe that we have to change the clocks ahead this weekend, everyone be sure to mark it on your calendars so noone is thrown off on Sunday morning!

Have a nice morning all!8f2bb76883583bf59d8d3d1b10c65cdb.jpg

.....kinda of scared again...all the news and opening....I will wear a mask for a long time, getting used to it and how it labels me as a Chemo Guy.

Thanks for the reminder. While I hate the adjustment itself, at least part of me usually looks forward to the spring one, as it puts my natural rhythms more in line with "normal" - but lately I seem to be running behind with dinner already, so going forward will exaggerate that. I'll have to get on the ball!

I will enjoy the light later in the evening, though. 🌞

Lab work....good thing I stopped at Goodwill yesterday to browse.....lab called me and said they spilt my vial...can I come back...sure, if no lab work, no cocktail on Thursday....and every cocktail hour is booked weeks out...so no problem. Goodwill is only a few blocks away from cancer center.

and oh yeah...welcome back to all you abnormal folks who change your clocks on this Sunday....Hear in Arizona we keep on a ticking...hear us roar us rebellious folks of sunrise/sunset nation...but I am use to it....I use to live in Oregon, rebellion there is no sales tax or battling gas hoses...we don't pump our own gas in Oregon.

I am all in for the gratitudes today.

I got shot # 2
It is a beautiful day
And the best of all....DDIL, who has CF, got her first vaccine today. She isn't eligible through the state but was able to get it as essential through her employer, Department of Defense. :cool1:

That is awesome news! I'm sure she is glad to get the ball rolling on that! And Congrats on your second! Moderna - right? I've read so many anecdotal reports I'm starting to forget who is getting what!
One of my brothers and three folks who work for us also got their first shots today!

It's beautiful outside, and while I know it won't last, it sure will be nice for being outside after work today for the remainder of the week. I've got a grocery order placed for Saturday morning, and I'm going to finally drag my car thru the car wash - and if they still are doing it - get the mini detail. Long overdue!
I've got to remember to bring my book in with me to read tomorrow during lunch outside.

Good Morning Quacker friends,

Stormy early morning hours has brought a dash of sun now :) It was a great morning to be cozy a little longer in bed! I am also not a big fan of changing the clocks at either time of year. I believe I shared this last year, my belief that it will get dark (or light) when God wants it to not based on what the clocks say! :) I definitely enjoy the longer, lighter days just would much prefer our (as a country) choosing one time and sticking with it.

Prayers for no adverse reaction, Carol. So glad you are all done :)

Gratitude:

Extra rest and warm blankets
Blessed day ahead and that Dad is staying home.

Thinking extra of Champ today. He was born 22 years ago on 3-10-89. That dog sure brought a ton of joy. I'm sure he does still in Heaven.

Afternoon Everyone.

Pleasant day outside, the weather is definitely taking a turn for the better. I spent a couple hours trying to get an appointment for my husband to get the vaccine. Either they don't have it or he isn't eligible. I am beyond frustrated. I personally don't care if I get the shot unless I need it to go on the cruise in July. I still think I had the virus the end of 2019/start of 2020. I had all the symptoms including the strange toe rash. I am hoping my husbands cardiologist can help us get in somewhere.

Beyond that the final stages of the kitchen are set. The counters and dishwasher come tomorrow and my grandsons boss is supposed to come by early evening to hook the plumbing and garbage disposal up. We still need the pipes replaced for the faucet but they were left out on purpose, easier to install the sink cabinet that way. The backsplash will be done over the weekend and we will be set.

It is very odd coming home to my house now with the old van gone. I had a chat with my friend who totally understood where I was coming from. She has her father's car. He passed away 4 or 5 years ago and she still has his sunglasses in the dash. The car was just a possession but in a large way getting rid of it was the good-bye I never got to say. Today it doesn't bother me because I am at peace with it now.

I need to run a few errands and get some dinner later. Trying to decide on a hoagie, sub or hero to people not from Philly, Chinese or maybe burgers. I will be glad when I can cook again.

Have a great day.

Not sure if you’re a county music fan, but this is a “good cry” song if you are:

The true story behind it is about a guy whose son died in the service, and he drives his truck.
