Good morning.

@lovemygoofy, glad you are feeling a little better today. And glad to see you posting. You are our leader. So glad you started this thread and we have become virtual and safe friends here. Enjoy your pedicure.

DH took my car to go get a carwash. He cares about those things more than I do. And I got timed entrance tickets for Longwood Gardens this afternoon. Have to try out the new membership and it should be a nice day to walk outside. I'll try to post a picture later.

Also defrosted chicken soup and boiled and added noodles to it so all I have to do is reheat it for dinner.

Longwood Gardens

I haven't been to LG in ages! There is a gal here in the office that has a membership, she goes a lot.
Speaking of LG, do you go to the Philadelphia Flower Show? I've been a few times, but not for the past few years. I was curious yesterday and looking it up, they are having it but they moved it to FDR park in June (vs. now) so they can have it outdoors, and it looks like you buy timed tickets as well. I may go again this year, if I remember!!

Good afternoon everyone.

It has warmed up here a bit. I have to take my husband to his retinology appointment and they make me sit in the car and wait. I actually hate this particular office because the staff is rude and treat me like I'm a nuisance. My issue is they give him the exact same eye test every month and say his vision is improving, giving him false hope. I have asked them repeatedly to mix them up but to no avail. He has the chart memorized. He lost most of his vision in one eye from the strokes and has retinopathy so very poor vision in both eyes. The appointment is for injections in his eyes, and it really makes me nauseous seeing that, but I worry when he gets them. He has completely lost his vision several times after the injections and they do not make sure he can see well enough to get out of the office let alone the building. Thankfully we will go back to the office closer to us again after this visit. The practice has offices everywhere around here. The good thing is that this office is close to the Cheesecake Factory so he treats me after the visit is done.

The electrician came this morning and changed the lights and a couple outlets in the kitchen. It is amazing how bright it is and I am really getting excited for the finished product now. My grandson is coming today for a few minor adjustments and to get the kitchen table. The counters go in next week along with the dishwasher, then it is just the backsplash.

@lovemygoofy Glad you are feeling better. I used to love getting pedicures until I got an infection. The girl doing my nails clipped my nail bed and then I had 4 Chinese people arguing in Chinese over what to do. All I know is I was bleeding, it hurt like crazy and then got infected on top of it, and I was heading to Disney the next day. I miss them. It was one of my few girly luxuries. I need to find a good shop around here or just get my toes polished without trimming the nails.

I have only been to Longwood Gardens once and that was about 4 years ago. My aunt has a membership and took me to give me some relaxation time right after Jim's strokes. I wanted to take my granddaughter last year as a Christmas gift but I got really sick at the end of December. I still think I had the virus, I have NEVER been that sick and I had the measles as a child.

I love the Flower Show. Glad to see they are doing it at FDR park. Just a ride down 95 for me. I'll have to try and remember to go this year since I am missing Flower & Garden at EPCOT.

Well I am off to my husbands dr's appointment. Have a great rest of your day all.

woo-hoo! I've been classified as a essential worker and have been notified I am eligible to get the vaccine now! Same with my husband!

Of course, there is no vaccine right now to sign up for BUT I plan on trolling the site over the next few weeks to see if I can get signed up.

It's is cold and super windy here today. Someone just posted on a local news groups snow flurries through the mountain pass nearby which is just weird....lol It was super a nice, warm, non-windy day yesterday. I told my DD I think I jinxed us, I was saying last night it's been so nice and NOT windy. (we live in the desert, it windy more times than not. :sad2: ) Poor hubby didn't get home until almost 11pm last night and was up and out the door by 5a. He's been super busy so he should've just stayed down there another night but he said he just really wanted to come home. I got a quick call from him earlier saying he might need to go to San Francisco for the weekend so I'm trying to straighten up the house and get some stuff together in case he wants me to go with him.
The poor dogs are going to be sad again. LOL

I did my mantle for March...I like the way it looks. :thumbsup2

:hug:Taz Dev, that sure does not sound like a kind or helpful medical experience to have to keep repeating! Prayers that at his next appointment, more is offered. So glad you both did get to enjoy a lunch treat.

That's great, Easyas. So how are the dogs doing? I hope they are getting along better.

Thanks for sharing all your green decor, AuntieMe3 :)

Rainy and cold day here. So grateful for a safe shelter and warm slippers, too! Other gratitude include Sparkletts delivery and that Dad liked his early Easter surprise T shirt. I ordered it early to allow for mailing and size exchanging if need be.

It's just after 1pm here. This morning already felt so much later due to the weather. I hope all of you are having a good afternoon heading into evening I realize for most of you.

We never made it to his labwork today, will do it tomorrow..but we did (well I did) go furniture shopping. Bought him a power lift recliner and got a new couch and chair. They will be delivered tomorrow..and best part is they will take the old furniture away to the dump for free! Noone else around here will, cause of Covid..so that made me super happy!

Also did grocery shopping at Walmart and Aldi's,,and stopped at Subway and used a b1g1 free coupon for subs..it was after 3 and we hadn't eaten.

I am about to sit and not move..have been on the go since 10 am and I am beat!

We had a lovely afternoon at Longwood. Walked more than 3 miles. So nice to be out in the sun. The conservatory had lots of flowers blooming. I'll put a few pictures in another post.

do you go to the Philadelphia Flower Show?
I have never been to that. As a child I went to the Flower Mart in Baltimore once or twice, but not the same thing.

Here are a few pictures from today.
First one is outside. Nothing blooming.

The next ones are in the conservatory which changes seasonally.

And this one requires explaining. Longwood won the award for America’s Best Restroom in 2014. This Green Wall is a long curved hallway and each door is an individual restroom. Some are family and accessible. Very cool.

Those flower photos are stunning Carol, really puts one in the mood for spring!
That Philadelphia Flower show is worth checking out if you are so inclined, some of the exhibitions and displays are unreal. Each year thy have a theme.

Wow- picked out today, delivered tomorrow and they'll take the old stuff?! That is awesome!

Dinner this evening ended up being turkey veggie burgers (currently still grilling) and that super fanciest of all sides, tater tots! I was in the grocery store after my Dr. appt. and I don't know - tater tots just appealed to me! I can not recall the last time we had them!

I have good news - late this afternoon we were provided a link specific to the chicken processing company we work with and we (husband & I - we both do different things at same major chicken processing facility) were able to, as essential workers, sign up for our vaccines! I'm thrilled! Our first is on Friday - this Friday! And at that appointment they schedule us for our second vaccine. AND another co worker not covered under this program was able to sign up via the Walgreens site to get both her first & second shot at a Walgreens only about 30 minutes away. We have to drive about 75 minutes south to get the vaccine at their site - but it's on the way to a meeting I have on Friday anyway, so no problems there!

Bad news is that our butthead dog snapped at Cali during a walk today. He was checking out a ground hog hole, and she went over to also check it out. My husband grabbed him as he started growling but he grabbed her by the scruff of the neck and picked her up. She was fine, no skin broken, she was jut shaken up. It might be a small blessing in disguise as she might be more aware of him and his boundary and vibes he give out. We will see she might not, and he might continue to be a butt head, so we will have to keep a tight rein on both for a bit longer. All in all, it's okay. Here is a photo of her & Duke from our walk...we call Duke 'The Babysitter', all the fosters love him and he is great with them ...works good w/ little kids too!!!

For those of you who are waiting on getting shots, or haven’t had the 2nd one yet. I just read to plan on having chicken noodle soup for dinner that day. It’s great for the inflammation in your body and if you’re feeling achy.

Thanks for the recommendation.

I'm hoping to schedule our second ones on a Friday just :in case" we need to veg the whole weekend until we feel better, we can.

Thanks for sharing the flower pics @Breezy_Carol Looks so pretty.

@lynxstch glad you were able to get a power chair and some furniture. I hope your hubby is feeling better.

@easyas123 I hope Cali took the hint and leaves the other dog alone. I love the pictures of her and Duke...soo cute. And how exciting you got an appt for your shots....I can't wait to get mine.

My grandma got her second shot on Saturday evening. She got the chills and felt a little achy that night. She slept almost the whole next day and woke up feeling fine the next day. She left her house at 2:30, the site(Dodger Stadium) is only 5 minutes from home and she didn't get home until 6:30p. Crazy she had to wait that long but at least she is now vaccinated.

We're still doing Hello Fresh, DD likes the meals so she doesn't mind paying for them and I really like not having to meal plan and go to the store. LOL Tonight we had mini turkey meatloaves with garlic mashed potatoes. We were supposed supposed have green beans but one of the packs had a couple moldy beans in there...DD doesn't like them anyway so I was making corn for her. When she went to her account to report it, they credited her $14....soo awesome.

No San Fran for hubby so the dogs will be happy we'll still be here, for a couple more day at least.

Longwood sounds lovely. I enjoy visiting local arboretums when I travel. I haven't been to the one in Dallas in a couple of years. The tulips are starting to bloom. Maybe I'll just have to make a trip over there next week while DD is off on Spring Break.

LJ is such a cute baby! Makes me miss mine being little like that, all the snuggles, holding them up close on my shoulder. It just amazes me how big Lil Joe and Lou Lou are getting. I walked outside this afternoon and found them both playing in the mud. They were covered. Fortunately DD was home and cleaned them up when they were done.

I guess all of you have heard that Governor Abbott has lifted the mandate on wearing masks and moving restaurants back up to 100% capacity effective March 10th. I, for one, will still wear my mask. A lot of people have already stopped wearing theirs. We shall see what happens. School teachers, daycare workers, etc. are now eligible for the vaccine here. DD received an email today from her school district telling her that she could sign up to receive the vaccine. I believe she signed up for Tuesday. She is really leery, like me, about it but decided to go ahead and do it.

Good morning all. Going to be a sunny but cool 45 degree day, but its one more day closer to Spring! I am tired, my feet ache from all the walking I did yesterday, couldn't sleep well because of it. Do have to go and get hubby's labwork done this morning, then a quick stop to Lowes to see what they have for seeds. Walmarts seed displays (also their Easter candy aisles) look like they were ransacked. People are getting worried that like last year, those things will be hard to find? Last week I that candy aisle was stocked fully from one end to the other (long aisles ), and yesterday it was at least 3/4 empty.

Have a nice morning all--
Picture is of Baby Mateo--already one month old..I am loving his hair,,lol!156828335_412484693383804_2736152347734637614_o.jpg04eeecaabc706a16d72e40611b00d919.png
