Glad for all the good news here! :goodvibes Happy so many people are getting their shots! DH got his first on Sunday and he felt fine afterward.

Did some shopping yesterday, then DD wasn’t feeling well and didn’t look herself. She wound up going to the doctor’s in the afternoon and has a UTI. It was her first appt with her new medical team and she came home happy with her care, so I was glad about that. It is nice that she carries her own insurance now. She was 😳 when she got the bill for a specialist appt in January, was surprised she had to pay $100 copay. Yup!! :lmao: So far she’s doing ok with the antibiotic. She has funny reactions sometimes so I’m keeping an eye on her. Thankfully she‘s had a couple of days off and doesn’t have to be back until tomorrow.

DS worked a double yest, I didn’t see him till almost midnight last night, and he’s already back at work again this morning. That was his second double this week. This afternoon he is meeting with an old mentor from his HS to talk about his career plans and see what feedback and information he has for him, as he works in DS’s intended field. DS remembered to take a copy of his updated resume and most recent letter of reference, phew. He was bummed he missed our steak tips last night (with broccoli, string beans and garlic mashed), but we packed him some for lunch today. I got to sit with him for a quick five mins to catch up before he had to shower and get to bed last night, and all I could think of was that thread yest that had the Mom on the outs with her kids (if anyone here was on it 🥲 ). Tried not to get emotional but it’s hard not to. So my gratitude yesterday and today is for the relationships that we have with our adult kids. I was diagnosed with breast cancer when they were only five years old, and I prayed to God very hard to let me see them through high school. God’s been good to me and I’ve gotten to see them beyond that. I pray thanks every day for this time.

@dazedx3 We haven’t heard from you in a while, how are things going for you? Sending healing thoughts and prayers. Check in when you can! :flower3:

On call tomorrow and working a bit of the weekend. Gearing up for that. May try to do something fun today if the weather cooperates. DD spoils Toto a bit, but he loves it. She got him bunny ears and he wore them a bit last night. Wish I could post the video where he tries to chomp on them!

Another gratitude right here :lovestruc

Good Morning, friends :)

I too am so thankful to have come on this morning to read happy updates and shares, thank God :)

Baby Mateo is precious, Lynn! Toto, as always, adorable, Pea, thank you both for sharing with us :)

Cool but sunny here this morning. Dad is soon off to the Dollar Tree and Michaels (he needs a couple more scrapbook albums).

Also thinking of you, Dazedx3 and keeping you in prayer. Someone else we really haven't heard from in quite awhile who came to my mind is Heidi? I pray she and her daughter are doing okay.

Hugs to all for a good Thursday!

@lynxstch, Mateo is already a month old? Time passes so fast! He's a cutie!

@Pea-n-Me, Toto is so pretty!

It's a bright, sunny day here, heading to the mid 60's. Had a good night's sleep the last couple of nights. Lou Lou has stayed in her bed instead of joining us. She is an active sleeper, legs flailing everywhere. She fell out of her bed last night, I was sure she wasn't going to stay there when DD put her back in but she did. She is a funny child sometimes. She will get up close to my face and just look at me like she is memorizing every feature.

We have half sun , half clouds and it's pretty windy,,temp is 44, and won't go any higher. Went shopping again, and got chair and couch protector covers,,as the cats all like to lay on the couch and chair. Stopped at Lowes and got all my herb seeds and some squash, cuke, and zucchini seeds. Didn't make it to get his labwork done, as he 'didn't feel like it'..if he doesn't feel like it tomorrow..then I am calling and changing the Monday appt to maybe April or May!

I'm starting to think we might need to look at our local Lowes/Home Depot for any seeds we need now instead of later - maybe tomorrow when we are out & about touring slower Delaware!

Windy here, too. Looking forward to next week and the temps around here being in low 60's.

I was supposed to get labwork done this AM - totally forgot until I got in the car with my toast and coffee and looked over to see the paperwork. I was supposed to fast! I'll make it a point to go first thing in the morning, and maybe I'll treat myself to a DD coffee - okay, and a sugar laden doughnut- for my effort. I abhor getting blood drawn, I feel faint just typing it out now. I'm such a wuss!

Our MD Governor is having a presser and I missed first bit, listening now. Sounds like vaccine access info.

Oh dear, I had an appointment yesterday. I made it to the hospital, I sat in the chair ... let her put the rubber thing around my arm, and then I burst into tears and didn't want her to touch me *eeks*.
At least I went? Got some tips now on what to do for my next appointment. It wasn't urgent, but it will need to be done.
Had a traumatic experience when little, and the times after that weren't good either, so absolutely terrified of having it done (and this is the first time it's "willingly").

So you're not the only one not liking it. I felt quite ashamed, but the nurses were sooooo sweet to me, which is actually giving me good hope for next week.
Good luck!

Boyfriend is on and off furlough, he went to work today, but no work tomorrow.
Which means we can watch series and Disney+ untill morning! haha
We're in the middle of "Superstore" right now.

Good afternoon.

Cold and windy here too. Working on a puzzle and reading. And watching junk tv.

Our MD Governor is having a presser and I missed first bit, listening now. Sounds like vaccine access info.
I got into it about 2 minutes in. Mostly about getting the vaccine to communities with less access, ie no internet, no transportation. I am impressed with Janeen Birckhead of the National Guard.

There is no rhyme or reason to mail delivery. I finally got the card my brother mailed from CT on 2/19. 13 days. But also got mail from my MD in Baltimore. I had blood work Tuesday. He got the results later that day and mailed them and I got them today. :confused3

DD had to have blood drawn the first time when she was 14 or 15. I wanted to be sure it was not a bad experience as she was going to have to have blood drawn monthly for Accutane she was taking. She had a really nice phlebotomist who, when I explained the situation, used an extra fine needle usually used on infants and things went well. Just a thought.

DD is dog sitting her coworker's 5 month old golden-doodle puppy. She has been sending me Snapchats of the puppy with her 5 year old doodle. They are napping now after tiring each other out this morning. So cute.

Welcome, Moorhunhe. Just a friendly FYI to fellow friends like me who are not good with needles, there are topical creams and sprays to prevent routine bloodwork and shorts from being painful. Just have to (sadly. IMO, doctors offices and pharmacies so automatically offer and in a routine, no big deal because it isn't, way) ask.

Dad is thankfully home. He did find scrapbooks at Michaels, not too much at the Dollar Tree.

Gratitude:
I'm slowly warming up and as I type this chicken broth is doing the same.
According to Informed delivery, I have two cards from friends expected today in the mail.
Two (new to me) Hallmark movies to check out this afternoon.

Welcome!
Yes, I am notorious in our family - well, one of my brother is as well! We had to get life insurance and you should have seen us pacing the office the day before and morning of, we were a mess over the bloodwork! I once put off the blood work for the dr ordered pregnancy test with my second son. For a MONTH - obviously I had already been thru having a kid and all that fun, but I still didn't want to have blood work done ha ha!! My mother finally told me to man up and get the bloodwork done. I did!
The few times I've had to have IV's I've insisted on a local first - Dr's love that :sad2:

I am impressed with Janeen Birckhead of the National Guard.

Me too - she is my youngest son's boss! He was telling us some stories about briefing her on some info last weekend, she is very well thought of within the ranks. She is no BS that is for sure.

Dinner tonight is either make at home pizzas or a quiche Lorraine I picked up yesterday - whatever we don't have tonight we will have tomorrow evening.

The utility guy was at the house to mark the electric lines for the new fence, so we are getting closer! I'm hoping next week - I should email him and see what our most current timeline is.

Glad we didn't go out of our way to get his bloodwork done today..they called at 4:00 and changed his appt to 3 weeks down the road. Delivery guys were here at 2:50, got the old stuff out and put it out by their truck, brought the new stuff in and set it up,,made sure his chair worked, and then were out of here in less than 20 minutes. I tipped them and told them to stop and get themselves something to eat as they had been delivering furniture since 9 am..It looks so nice to have a matched set of furniture again,,I didn't miss seeing his old red/green/tan plaid couch that was at least 27 years old, getting put on the truck to go to the dump. Now I just have to find 2 end tables, a coffee table and a few more throw pillows.

@Breezy_Carol--you are right that there is no rhyme or reason to the mail,,even in March. He got hold of the office at work today, and told them he hadn't gotten his W-2 yet,,assuming it's lost in the mail. And he wasn't the only one it happened to. She is going to email him a copy and that will work to file our taxes, since we do them online anyhow. I got a card that was mailed on Feb 1 yesterday, and I got something that was mailed Dec 28 today. Yet the Drs office mailed something from not far away,,and it got here in 2 days..it's got to be as frustrating to them as it is to us.

@easyas123..glad that your yard project is on the road to being done! Maybe just in time for Spring weather!

@flyingdumbo127--sorry you are cold and can't warm up ..hope your weather improves..hard to believe that Southern CA is still that chilly! Its down to 31 here, and we have some awful winds..they came up just as the delivery guys got here and I had to hold the door so it didn't blow off the hinges while they brought the stuff in. Sky is almost pitch black..and it says snow flurries in the area..this after being 60 yesterday!

Have a lovely evening everyone..I am off to eat dinner, and then relax on my new couch..(really have to find a new coffee table as this couch is a good 2 1/2" higher than our old one,,and the coffee table we have is now too low to eat on, lol)

Pea-n-Me...Thanks for asking about me:wave2: There is good news to share, I saw my oncology surgeon and the whole team reviewed my case and decided they are confident that they got all the cancer, and I won't need any treatment at this time!! I will need to have exams every 3 months for two years. It looks like I dodged a bullet there,

My DH is doing a bit better...baby steps.

I miss my sister terribly, but I'm also a bit upset with the mess she left us with. She had two disabled adult kids and it is so confusing getting their affairs in place. I would have thought she would have left us better details on her and their finances. I kind of feel guilty complaining about her, I do truly love and miss her.😢

DH and I are trying to get all the details to retiring in order, not an easy task. But we both decided after the events of the last year, we don't want to spend another day at jobs we hate. Actually I don't hate my job, just my boss. Not worth the stress

Hugs to all for a good Thursday!

Thanks - you as well!

Cold and windy here too

Got home from work and talked husband into walking up to the community mailboxes with me for Cali's evening walk. It seemed like a good idea! geez the walk back with the wind on our faces was brutal. My cheeks still hurt and we've been back for at least 30 minutes. I think the wind has picked up even more.

Thankfully we are starting to dry out so hope we don't lose any trees.

.I am off to eat dinner, and then relax on my new couch

Enjoy!

Dinner tonight for us is ending up as make at home pizza, I picked up a kit of four from Costco last weekend, they come with thin crusts & pizza sauce. I'll add carmelized onions (I do up a huge batch twice a year and keep in freezer) black olives , fresh mushrooms and spinach if the spinach in the fridge is still worth having. Husband will add turkey pepperoni to his.

Tomorrow is a big day - blood work in the AM, leave mid day to get first shot, meeting at 3 after that. Hopefully home by6 and we will either have the quiche or will stop at Wawa for subs.

I'm so happy for you - how wonderful!

Sorry your sisters affairs require so much of your time at this critical point in you & your husband recovery, but I'm sure she would appreciate your efforts and I hope that brings you some comfort.

:grouphug: DazedX3, such great news! Praise God! Many hugs, my friend. I am sorry in addition to grief you are also dealing with some unresolved/unsettled bigger issues regarding your sister. Remember please, we are here and care.

Yikes, Easyas, you, your DH, and dogs are certainly much more wind tolerant than I am. I probably would not have gone out to begin with, I admit completely :) You warm up and enjoy your pizza.

@dazedx3, glad to see you and YAY for good news.

I sliced up a chicken breast and simmered it with a can of golden mushroom soup, then served it over rice with green beans. Easy, old fashioned, and hit the spot.

Settled in to watch Beverly Hills Wedding on Hallmark.

Tonight is when we put out the trash for pick up tomorrow. I hope the wind doesn’t blow the cans over. DH said there were snow flurries blowing around when he took the cans to the street.

Snow flurries were blowing around here also. My poor cats are so confused..they can't figure out why the new couch is higher, and they have to jump up higher to get on it. Our Marble has already reclaimed her spot atop the new chair (she used to perch on the old recliner). Our little Bug finally figured out that her old blankie is still at the end of the couch and finally jumped up to lay on it. I left their blankets where they were until they get used to the new furniture. The other 3 have staked out the top of the couch, tried looking under the lift recliner, and are trying to figure out why they can't get under the couch like they are used to doing. I think they could from the back, but the front is too low for anyone except Bug to get under,,lol..I guess they will all figure it out in time!

Hubby keeps falling asleep in his chair, so it must be comfortable. And it's MUCH easier for him to get in and out of it with the lift feature.
@dazedx3-- :cheer2: to the good medical news. Sorry to hear about the mess your Sister left you to deal with though.

I plan on being in bed fairly early tonite, I only got about 2 1/2 hours of sleep last nite, and none today.

Sleep well everyone! See you on the flip side!!

That’s great news, @dazedx3! Nice to get good medical news, isn‘t it? :goodvibes

Glad the furniture came and it’s working well - other than the cats, until they get used to it, lol. When we got our new loveseat a few weeks ago, we put the old one out on the deck and Toto went out there and was sitting on it looking quizzically inside at us. We have an electric reclining chair that I’d gotten for Mom. DH uses it now. Our only problem was when it malfunctioned (and Mom got stuck in it in the recline position 😳 ) it took a long time to get it repaired because it’s hard to find people who fix chairs now. But fortunately between my brother and a neighbor who is an electrician, they figured it out, fixed it, and it’s been fine ever since (knock on wood).

I hate when the wind is biting like that! It was like that here this week, too. Couldn’t wait to get home!

DD is feeling better but still has pain in her kidney area.

Have a good night, everyone. 😴

Prayers for calmer winds tonight all-around!

Carol, I hope you are enjoying your movie. One of the afternoon movies, Harvest Love, looked super sweet. It was airing when it recording would have overlapped with another show so I'll DVR it when it re-airs on March 16th.

When I got a new bed that was higher up (pillow top mattress) Champ had initial trouble adjusting to it. I hope your cats have settled in, Lynn and more so that you and your DH enjoy your new furniture! :)

Prayers for your daughter, Pea. Yikes, I am sorry your Mom and all of you had to experience that.

Sweet dreams, everyone.
