Chocolate cake sounds so good, Sparkle, especially if it were freshly warm from the oven!

Word of warning to NOT buy the robe I shared the other day. Amazon's picture of the robe made it look plush whereas the reality is it is anything BUT plush, that is :( I had also gotten another (this one not for pajama use) Amazon Essentials long sleeve T shirt. That material is much warmer/softer than the robe. I'll be ordering a couple more of those shirts for less than the cost of the robe. One great day, post plague, I will look at Kohl's (or Walmart) in person for a new robe.

USPS mail came, including Dad's two music magazines that were due a couple months ago! Prayers we are back on mail track!

Have a good evening, my friends.

Congratulations on the new babies. ❤ I'm sorry to say I haven't been keeping up with the posts everyday so I'm going to have to just start from here on out.

Its been a stressful week with my poor mom. Its like they are finding something different wrong with her everyday. All fixable and she is getting better but in the meantime she's pretty miserable. At least, she's not too upset about us not being able to visit but all of us kids and my dad are each talking to her on the phone at least once a day.

Tomorrow is my last day of work. Don't know if I've mentioned before but I work at a daycare/preschool. I've been there for 25 years and I am SOOO done. LOL I know I'll probably get another job sometime soon but not in a rush. I'm going to enjoy my free time while I have it...who knows how my mom will be when she finally gets to come home, so I might need to spend more time helping out with her.

Our weather is CRAZY right now. It super windy right now and its supposed to rain all night and tomorrow, no more snow though so that's a bummer.

Welcome Matty and LJ!!!!!! Both are cuties!

It was cold today but not too bad, at least it was sunny. I can't seem to shake the blues. Hoping that once my mom is buried things will be better. I've cared for her in one fashion or another for 15 years and it's hard to think that that phase of my life is over.

Didn't sleep well last night, Lou Lou joined us in bed. I'm always waking up to make sure she hasn't tunneled under my pillows and suffocated. Her nose was stopped up too so she didn't sleep good either. Both she and Lil Joe fell asleep on the way home from preschool and slept for a couple of hours. I should have laid down too. Maybe I'll sleep better tonight.

I finished the jigsaw puzzle. @flyingdumbo127, it is an underwater scene with turtles and fish and lots of colors. I'll have to get another our of the basement tomorrow.

@sparkle78, I have one of the cake doctor cook books too. The chocolate cake sounds really good. I am doing WW and a cake is too much for the two of us.

@flyingdumbo127, glad you got mail. I am watching for a Save the Date card from my niece. DD got one but DS and I haven't yet. I already know the date but interesting to wait for it.

@AuntieMe3, congratulations on retirement And hugs for you and your mom.

@Kirby, I think the blues are normal for you and what's going on. I hope you get some sleep tonight.

Congrats on the new babies!!!
((hugs)) to those who need them

Not much here. Made chocolate chip muffins this morning. Did some errands. Did a little bit of housework. etc etc etc

The meal box I ordered (Everyplate) was meh. The produce was a mixed bag of really good (cilantro, green onions, carrots) and bad (old wrinkly zucchini and poblanos, potatoes that were clearly rotten). The meat was...ok..not bad but not the high quality we prefer for meat. When I messaged them about the bad produce, the response I got was not good "you should try xxxx, they do more of the prep work for you." Um, I wasn't talking about the prep; I was talking about the bad produce. They wouldn't resend me the produce, and said no to a partial refund, so we are passing on ordering any more from them. The recipes were fine; but they are the same ones that at least 3 other meal box plans use (in some cases, word for word), so I don't feel we're missing anything there.

We are giving Butcher Box a try. Got an offer (10% back from our bank on purchases) + free items from them, so the intro price is palatable. Let's hope the meats are. ;)

I have a wine box on it's way (Stella Rosa, Sweet Wine Club) with a black cherry wine in it! Kinda excited, NGL. I like the grapefruit one they carry (again, with the grapefruit that I truly dislike...ha) and the peach and apples (red and green) versions remind me of those wine coolers we used to drink when we were trying to be cool in the 80s.:rotfl2: I like their regular wines too.

Good morning all. Another cold day..its 26 now and it will be a whopping 27 for a high. They say we 'might' get measurable snowfall on Sunday into Monday. Great, that means all the panicked people will be flocking to Walmart tomorrow. Maybe I can talk hubby into going today instead. He was up and down all night, then asks me if I slept well? Uh..no,,everytime he gets up and then gets back in bed, it wakes me up. Going back to sleep for a little while. Will be back later to see what everyone else is up to. @flyingdumbo127--Mona, I hope you are returning that robe to Amazon for not being as described!
Have a nice morning!R6a8b779edc3b2920392025b109e2c4f0.jpg

Good morning

Cold here today around 23 when I left my house to get my grandsons up for school.

Kitchen cabinets came in and I will be doing some arguing with the company. I paid for delivery and they are saying pick up. I have nowhere your them so if they can't hold them I'll need a storage unit for a month. Not that troublesome as there are several within a half mile or so from my house.

If you all are the praying type keep LJ in your thoughts and prayers. He's in the NICU with some breathing issues. He has fluid in his lungs, his oxygen stats were off and he keeps having issues with rapid and shallow breaths. He's in a good hospital and they are on top of it but extra prayers always help. My grandson is trying to be strong but he was scared when I spoke with him. He didn't say it but I could tell in his voice.

The little guys are playing around upstairs so I better get them moving. Have a warm day all of you in this frigid air and a good day everyone

Good morning.

Prayers for little LJ.

It's warmed up to 27 here now. At least it's sunny.

I've been out to a doctor's appointment and need to go out again to meet someone from church to get a key. Then I am in for the day.

I started another 500 piece puzzle, This one is birds.

Many prayers for peace and rest, Kirby. I also hope you slept better last night.

Nice puzzle image, Carol. I’m glad you already know the date but hope you get the invite anyway! It is interesting to also check postmarks at times to see when a piece of mail was first sent. I’m sorry you have to go out a second time today. I do hope you get to be cozy at home the rest of the day afterwards.

I’m sorry your meal box was not very appetizing, B&B and that the customer service also was lacking. I hope you find the next one much tastier!

Oh my, Lynxstch, please bundle warmly! I am definitely returning the robe! Dad will drop it off at a UPS store next week. Being able to bring a return (with a printed out return code from Amazon) and not have to package the item is so handy and a positive to any Amazon returns.

Hugs to you and many prayers for LJ, Taz Dev!

I am still sorting through stickers! I will definitely post a picture later today. I truly would be happy to send envelopes of assorted stickers to at least two of you on here. Please let me know this weekend if you'd like one :)

Another cool morning here. It was pouring last night and windy, too. Praying the rain holds off for another couple hours while Dad is out doing laundry and grocery shopping.

Happy Friday to all!

Thanks I needed the virtual hug . In a little funk This afternoon. Cold weather maybe, nowhere to go on a Friday night again. decluttering projects to start, but not in the mood to. Hubbie constantly having the TV onto the news. Going to make a hot cocoa and read my book for a bit

Sweetpeama, take care. These days can definitely blur together and seem timeless as well!

PollyannaMom, would you like some stickers for your niece and nephew? I just remembered your hot cocoa volcano share from the other day! PM me if you would :)

Hug, Sparkle. Enjoy your cocoa and book, both sound like a great combination right now!

Thank God, Dad is safely home for the weekend. He did get caught in some rain while out but is home now :)

@flyingdumbo127--Mona,,doesn't the song go 'it never rains in California'? LOL! You have been getting a lot of it lately?

Home from errands. Stopped at Sheetz first and filled the car (took a whole 4 gallons, lol), and put some dry gas in it. Aldi's was busy, but 3 registers open so it went fast. Got fresh fruit, milk, choc milk, a seasoned pork roast, greek yogurt, orange juice and eggs. Walmart's parking lot was packed,,but the registers had no lines??? One guy in front of me had a loaf of sandwich bread and 2 pkgs of Oscar Mayer thick bologna. He said he could eat for a week on that, lol. I got 50 cans of cat food, big bag of dry cat food for the outside cats, ice cream, spring salad mix, hair color (and I am sad..our Walmart has stopped carrying John Frieda, and its the only kind that works well for me), tylenol pm, and a bag of cough drops for hubby. All is put away, we don't have to go out all weekend. He does want to try a new bbq place that is opening tomorrow,,but I said wait a week till the crowds die down..I am not going if there are a lot of people. They are only doing take out for now,,so it will be a mob scene. We live in a tiny little city, with not a lot of restaurants. This place already has one in WV and people rave about it.

Have a good afternoon everyone..the sun is out here, but it's only 26 degrees brrr!

I have that too. I can not watch the COVID news.

28 here, and windy. Someone has to walk out and get the paper from the mailbox.

I can't remember the last time I watched the news..it's always bad news, or worse news..so I pay no attention to any of it!
Not quite as windy here,,but still cold..going down to 20 tonite. They are 'iffy' on if we are going to get a lot of snow, little snow, or no snow. I vote for the last!

Hooray you're home, Lynxstch. Wow you did a lot of shopping today. So glad you got some needed food. I hope next trip to Walmart will bring the other items you need--remember Walmart.com is so very handy! I know not everything is available that way. LOL, it sure has been raining a lot in "sunny" CA! It's stopped at the moment, if only the cold would take a break, as well. Aww, Mateo is so precious! Very thankful he gets to go home and meet the rest of his family! Praise God! Oh as a P.S. to you and Carol,
I am not a news watching fan either! Too much :(

Attached are some of my many stickers!

Extra :grouphug: to all.

Today was busy cleaning house. DD has a hard lipoma in her abdomen and had a sonigram this afternoon to see how big it was. It's about the size of a large fist. Next step is to have surgery scheduled to have it removed.

This evening some friends of mine brought dinner over to us. Chopped brisket, pulled pork, potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans, lemonade, tea, two chocolate chess pies, oatmeal cookies, chocolate chip oatmeal cookies and paper goods. DS should be dropping in soon to help eat everything. Was expecting my sister and her husband but now I don't think they are coming and I have all this food. And to top it off, I don't feel like eating. Maybe later. I wanted to hug my friends so bad, we had to settle for a shoulder bump. I am so grateful for the spread they provided for us.
