Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

All the talk of down sizing and decluttering chimes right in with how I've been feeling lately. My sister and I will have several tubs of our mom's things, pictures and stuff, to go through over the next couple of weeks. Mom really downsized when she moved in with me so there's not a lot to go through, mostly memories.

Good morning all. Few snow flurries flying around. Sister in law and niece had to go to Morgantown this morning for a Drs appt, she just texted that the roads are clear and they will be there an hour before the appt. They could have slept in for another hour, lol. Now they say a big storm could be heading this way next week Not looking forward to that and I hope they are wrong. Going to hit the discount grocery store today after the oxygen co. comes and brings a new machine. They say it has to be replaced every 5 years. I then reminded them that the one we have now was replaced only 8 months ago. Guy said it's the same exact model, so as long as they are replacing it for free, he would suggest taking it. Since hubby uses it pretty much 24/7 I said ok.
I just took the trash down to the street, and our temp is 38 which will be the high for the day I guess.
Have a great Wednesday, fellow QUACKERS!9be2c5d582cc0cccce13d9c5247ab94d--hi-ho-wednesday-humor.jpg

Bottom of page one--that's not allowed, lol!
Where is everyone today,,sleeping in..outside doing errands? Time for you guys to check in, lol. Sun came out for about 5 min, now it's just cloudy. They replaced hubbys oxygen machine with a brand new one (Medicare requirement for them), and he called his Dr and had a video appt for his cellulitis. She called in an antibiotic and we will go down and pick it up later one. Have a good afternoon everyone!

Here I am! 🐣

For free and the same exact model, I am glad your husband has a brand new oxygen machine, Lynxstch! Many prayers it works smoothly for years to come! I hope you got out and home already!

Another cold LA morning here. It looks like my new robe won't come until tomorrow, oh well--maybe tracking will change later. Zero USPS mail yesterday.

Did any of you watch last night "The Color of Rain?" on Hallmark. I caught some of it. Tried to record it. The new cable box (it has been causing trouble ever since Dad brought it home from the Spectrum store) went out which took care of the recording :P Spectrum is supposed to come out next Wednesday at which time we will have requested they bring us a new box!

It's only 9:20am here yet already feels much later and timeless simultaneously. Have a good Wednesday, my friends.

I am so glad I don't have a huge kitchen. I have 2 walls scrubbed and primed. Now have to skim coat and prime again, then I can move on to the soffits and ceiling. I may buy a hat since I already managed some paint in my hair.

Waiting to hear from my grandson. Since he hasn't responded to my text I am hoping that means the baby watch is on. He stopped by last night and did a few small things I needed done so I could work on the walls. He was nervous but excited for the baby to make his appearance. I think he will be a great dad though and told him so. Then told him he better send me pictures since I can't go to the hospital to see the baby. I need to brag after all.

Well off to buy a few things I still need to get. If I can just decide on the fixture for the sink. Finally found one that I was interested in and I am NOT spending almost $600 just to get water out of a tap. Wish I wasn't so fussy.

Have a good afternoon all

I'm here. Spent the morning with my little homeschool kindergarteners (honorary niece and nephew). We had a "semi-snow day" - played outside for a bit and then came in a did a bit of work. Their new dog loved the snow!! (...and was exhausted from chasing snowballs.)

We wrote about how to make a snowman, practiced counting tally marks and cutting wavy lines, and then made a "hot chocolate volcano" for science. (Just mix a packet of cocoa and 1/4 cup baking soda in a mug. Pour in some vinegar, and watch it bubble over.)

Back from CVS picking up the antibiotic for his leg. Stopped at the discount grocery store. They had Wagyu sirloin steaks for $4.29 each. Prices on the 2 I got were originally $15.63 and $14.29..I would never pay that much for a steak, but at $8 and change for 2, I am willing to try it. Also picked up a box of 24 count K cup hot coca's for $2.99,, a big jar of Cain's bread and butter pickles for $1.29, 2 pkgs of imitation crab meat for $1.99 each, a 2 lb roll of Jimmy Dean sausage for $2.99 and a bag of Planters chocolate and nut bark. Their stuff is always in date, and they are so nice there, I love giving them some business. It's still cloudy, temp is still 38. I got a UPS delivery today. Hubby's beard trimmer had died in Nov, 3 weeks before the warranty ran out. They shipped it on Nov 25 and sent it to the wrong address. I called them last week and they reshipped it, and it got here today. Neighbor is still complaining that he hasn't received his stimulus check, which says it was mailed Jan 6. So the USPS is still apparently not caught up!
Dinner is going to be 'steak sub' salads, homemade.
Have a lovely evening all!

Where is everyone today,
Checking in now.

I had to meet DD at her work this morning to pick up some new masks that we had shipped to her house. She got some in the order too and shipping to her avoids sales tax.

Dh wanted to drive to the office of one of his optometrist friends to give him some things out of his office. About an hour away in a kind of rural area (in Harford County). After we left there, we had lunch at CFA then drove to Rocks State Park. Hadn't been there in years. Got a trail map and drove around a little. Plan to go back when it's warmer and less muddy and do a trail or two. Then on the way home stopped at the Conowingo Dam to look for eagles. Didn't see any eagles but a lot of heron.

Did any of you watch last night "The Color of Rain?" on Hallmark?
I didn't watch last night but did in the past few months. It is a true story, not a usual Hallmark movie. I enjoyed it.

Stopped at the discount grocery store.
Sounds like you got some great bargains.

Tonight's dinner is another one of my made up concoctions loosely based on chicken cacciatore, chicken with sliced onions and cans of tomatoes and mushrooms.

PollyannaMom, you are such a great teacher/person to your niece and nephew, doggie, too :) I love how you made a hot chocolate volcano!

Glad you are home and got some needed items, Lynxstch!

Thanks, Carol. That's cool that it's based on a true story. I'll keep an eye out for it. Many years ago (not on Hallmark because I don't think there was such a channel back then) there was a super sweet movie called The Miracle of the Cards which was also based on a true story.

I hope all of you are cozily enjoying the afternoon.

Good day all-

Semi busy day in the office today, plus I had some errands to run so just now getting around to the Dis!
Seemed I was on the phone half the day -
My office is a wreck, boxes and piles everywhere. I really hope my stuff comes earlier in the day tomorrow so I can get organized before I'm gone for the next few work days, otherwise it will be waiting for me late next week I guess.
And of all ridiculous things the stupid app on my phone to remote start my car hasn't worked for a while. I am actually talking to them now...would you believe they think the car should go to the dealership for some long winded electronics fix. Evidently my 'telematic control unit' modem is off line?!?! Honestly, just ridiculous. So now, assuming I feel like it, I need to drive to the dealership almost an hour away so they can fix the thingy in my car that lets my phone start it from afar and will let me find the car - you know, in case I lose it. Truly, that is what they said. "In case you lose the car Mrs. Easyas123".
Not if it's stolen, they have some other bit of electronics for that :sad2:
I'm feeling confident I won't lose my car. I've had one since I was 16 and haven't lost one yet...

We had snow here, just around 3 inches. DH used the shovel as it was mostly light. No need for the snow blower. It is pretty but now it is going to get colder. I heard wind chills below zero by the weekend. Not really looking forward to that.

I have been watching the roll out of the sign ups for the covid vaccine for 75+ and the word being used is debacle. I feel bad for people who are not computer savvy and are trying to get an appointment. I hope this gets fixed real soon and before the next group is eligible which DH and I are in. I don't mind going to Gillette stadium so hopefully they would have alot of appointments. It is about an hour or a bit more away but it will be a little time off from work. I can deal with that. LOL!

I have not been watching Hallmark movies lately. I need to take a look this weekend. I have just been watching some old sitcoms like Home Improvement and Reba. @flyingdumbo127 I hope your cable box gets fixed.

Happy Wednesday.

Just got the news that my Goddaughter is in full labor with her second baby. This one is a boy. He has a big sister named Alida (we call her Ali), who turned 2 on November 1. Prayers that she has an easy time of it and all goes well! Will post a pic as soon as my sister in law sends me one. She lives in SC, and unfortunately couldn't go to CT for the birth, all because of Covid :(

My great grandson will be here tomorrow. They scheduled a c-section because he is going to be a BIG baby. They estimate he is already 8 1/2 to 9 1/2 pounds based on todays appointment. I am so excited and told my grandson he better send me photos so I can share too.

Many prayers for two upcoming healthy new babies!

Hug, Easyas123, I'm sorry for all the hassles. Prayers they get resolved quickly.

Thanks, Snowysmom. A technician will be coming out early morning on 2-3 to look at the cable box (replace it if need be). My Dad sure has been frustrated with trying to get a vaccine appointment! There are zero availabilities right now. I hope you are able to get yours (along with, of course, anyone else on here who would like one).

We got 3 pieces of junk mail none of which were shown to me coming, all of that expected mail is still MIA. Still any USPS mail these days is a-mail-zing :D ETA: The mail I spoke of earlier probably came late last night. Guess what came this afternoon? I ton of mail including cards shown as expected on Monday. Dad's music magazines are still missing but maybe, just maybe, the mail is a little more on track. We shall see what tomorrow brings.

:grouphug: to all.

I hope all of everyones mail delivery troubles end soon! And new baby pics posted!

We received our stimulus check yesterday. Wasn't expecting it, our last one came really late compared to everyone elses.

I cooked chili this evening. Was a good night for it. Today was sunny and in the 40's but the wind made it feel like in the 30's. Expecting 29 degrees overnight so the heat strips will be on.
