Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Good FRIDAY morning.

@flyingdumbo127 , I think microwaves are made to be disposable these days. There are some pretty inexpensive ones out there. We got a new one in the past year or so from Home Depot. (Or Lowes, I forget which.)

Another beautiful day. No plans yet. DH is still trying to get his flu shot. He has called the pharmacy where I got mine twice. They are out of high dose. Said to call after noon today.

I need to go out and return a library book. And maybe a virtual WW meeting at noon.

Cooking how Jane did would sure work for me, too, AuntieMe3! :D

Great Mickey and Minnie wreath, Sparkle :)

Thanks, Carol. My dad made an appointment for his high dose flu shot by calling Target pharmacy.

Lynxstch, is the brand name we have now that is from 2011. I did see a Hamilton Beach on Wal-Mart last night, thank you :)

Oh no..this is not allowed, we are at the bottom of page 1-lol! Time to bring it back up! I got more cleaning done today, got 2 of the 3 ac units out. With the new central heat/ac system coming soon, they got put down cellar for now. We will keep at least 1 of them (one was new last year, and 2 were new this year), and sell the others come next summer. Want to make sure the central ac cools all the rooms in the house first. I did enough Fall cleaning for the week, that's for sure! Tomorrow is grocery and errand day and Sunday will be for relaxing. I hope everyone has a nice evening..and a very pleasant weekend, though they are calling for us to have rain all day Sunday and Monday!

It is definitely not allowed for our thread to be near the bottom of page 1. Thanks for the rescue, Lynxstch. Thanks also for the Hamilton beach microwave recommendation. We just ordered one on Wal-Mart. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Hamilton-Beach-1-1-Cu-Ft-1000W-Stainless-Steel-Microwave/941582049 Very smart plan to make sure the new central a/c works before dumping the old window units!

I'm glad your DH was able to get his shot, Carol. Cool lighthouse picture!

Have a good night's rest everyone :)

Good Saturday morning everyone. Our family on this thread seems to be dwindling. Lots of names I no longer see posting :( Guess life is getting back to 'normal' for some of them. Its 54 now going to be really nice and 74 later on. Going to the grocery store(s), and then coming home. Will wash the car and change the sheets and that will be it for me. Have a lovely Saturday everyone!

Waving hi and sending a hug to all! Aww :( I do sadly agree Lynxstch! :( Prayers all are safe and well. Maybe they will check in again sometime :) Much thanks to all of you who are still so active in keeping our family within this thread together and uplifted! It's cold outside here this morning yet hot inside the apartment. 90's coming in a couple days. Oh well. Happy Saturday to all!

The weather can be changeable for sure. We had a high of 88 yesterday. When I was walking to pick up my mail I noticed a happy family enjoying the pool. :beach:
Wishing you all a nice weekend. 🌺

Good morning.

I am guessing school going back may be keeping some of our family here busy.

One more nice day here today, although it is cloudy. Rain from Delta to move in tomorrow and Monday.

DS and his wife are going to an AirBNB in Stanardsville, VA this weekend as Monday is a holiday. They had planned outdoor activities, like hiking Shenandoah, so I hope the rain holds off. Today DS turns 32. My youngest, but I can't be getting older.

DD is having a Halloween party today for her core group of friends - 4 couples with 6 kids. They are all COVID aware and all tested this week before the party. Kids are dressing up and masks are required for adults. DD made kid friendly games and foods. She has really gotten into it. I can't wait for pictures.

DH and I decided to book a house in OBX for October 24-31. Just need to get away. Plan to read, ride bikes, and hopefully enjoy ocean sounds. This is the house we booked.

Happy Saturday. We are just doing errands and misc house stuff this weekend. The walking weather was nice, low 70s with a breeze. Tomorrow it is supposed to be around 60.

We head to NH next week. The weather outlook isn't the greatest with rain predicted 2 of the days. We do alot of holiday shopping so we can schedule that for the rainy days. The outside walks and drive we will save for the sunny days. It will be nice to get away from the routine and the day to day stresses. Jasper enjoys his time at the kennel. He loves to play with the other dogs. When we drop him off he just goes off without a good bye.

Flying dumbo Glad you found a microwave you like.

Our kids get older but we parents just stay the same. LOL!

Hey, I have a birthday buddy! (But I’m 50 today. - I imagine I’m making my poor dad feel reeeeealy old!)

My motto is that zeros don’t count - so I celebrated like I was five. 😁 DH and I spent the morning at the zoo (which felt like a safe outing, being outside, with masks and reasonable distancing). I love animals!

Then we got lunch, with chocolate mousse for dessert, on the way home.

Happy Birthday @PollyannaMom !

This morning we went grocery shopping. Then at 1 there was a drive by birthday party for the 6 year old across the street. After that there was an outdoor social at the church on the parking lot. About 20 people, all in masks and socially distanced. Just 60-90 minutes but nice to see people. On the way home, stopped by a 94 year old church member's house to pick up books I had loaned her. Nice to visit a little. Now getting carry out pizza for dinner.

Happy Birthday @PollyannaMom ! You've reached 1/2 a century!! We did errands and some grocery shopping this morning,,then I washed the car. Then I "was" planning on doing nothing, but I heard noise outside, and saw my wood guys truck in the driveway. Today he decides is the day he is going to cut down our 2 dead trees. One was a BIG black walnut, it was 1/2 dead. The other was an Ash, which was all dead. He cut them down all by himself, and then cleaned up most of the mess. I stacked the wood as he cut it up for me,,got about a cord out of the walnut tree and about 1/2 out of the ash. Told my neighbor he could take the big pieces of walnut that aren't cut up, I don't want to deal with them. That was 2 big things off my to do list for my woodguy, lol. Now he only has about 10 more things to do on it! I am really beat, my knees are sore, I have a feeling I am going to feel it in my back tomorrow. Hubby took pity on me and we went to McD's for dinner so I wouldn't have to cook. My yearly Big Mac,,lets see how it acts on my stomach! Off to take a long hot bath and then tv for a bit. The weather was 75 today and so nice out,,rain the next 2 days..good, I won't have to do anything outside, loL! Have a nice Saturday evening everyone

@PollyannaMom I hope you had a nice birthday! Btw, it’s only a number! But I like your attitude towards it! :teeth:

@Breezy_Carol DH and I enjoyed your lighthouse pictures and the history, thanks for sharing. That is a job he would love! He considered applying the last time one of our local lighthouses had an opening, but at that time it didn’t make sense for us. You never know about the future, though. Apparently some of his ancestors were lighthouse keepers and otherwise worked around the water. He loves it, too, which is how we wound up where we live.

@Snowysmom DD and her boyfriend are up in NH now at my brother’s house. This is their fourth trip since summer started, they really enjoy it, too!

Everyone sounds like they’re staying pretty busy. My Zoom meeting went really well on my new iPad. I got a nice keyboard stand for it so it was perfect. So glad I found it before I bought a laptop.

FIL made pies and sent one home with DH yesterday. It was yummy with a little Brigham’s vanilla ice cream.
