I would love to share some pie with all of you if I could! I have never thought about chocolate ice cream with it, but I’d be open to trying it! Brighams Vanilla is my favorite, though, even without pie!

It’s almost cake season again - kids’ birthday is next week, so another celebration here. Weird that everything in our family falls within six weeks, but we’ll take it. Fall is our season! DD’s boyfriend told me he is going to bake her a cake but we’ll also get or make one, too, since DS shares the same birthday. His girlfriend’s family made him a cake this past weekend and gave him gifts knowing he would be celebrating at home this coming weekend. I’m so glad that both DD and DS have found good, caring people to date.

I am enjoying my iPad with my JBL headphones I got a few months ago at TJMaxx. My old, crappy ones had broken. (Seeing a trend here? All my stuff is old!) I actually watched Netflix for the first time on it last night (which, essentially, was my first time ever watching Netflix on my own!). I also enjoy listening to my Spotify playlists on it so I think it’s been a nice way of relaxing!

Ours too - not quite as tight as your six weeks! - But I'm October, DS is November, and DH is December. (They also always fall on the same day of the week, which is kind of fun.)

One niece's birthday is also in November, and then other big birthday season in DH's family is Feb/March. - There are six in in two months!

I love all the fall pictures - your DD's trip and Josh's new ones as well.

Penguins are my fav too, such fun to watch them swimming. Years ago, a friend took us to a aquarium in Boston. My sister made a small donation to the California Academy of Sciences and I gotta free app for my phone. I can click on it and watch a live feed from the penguins habitat.

Last night, we had “heavenly ham.” I usually only get it on the holidays, but was at that end of town and just got a small package of slices and their baked apples. Add green beans, cornbread, and au gratin potatoes and we had quite a feast. Perfect for a fall day.

@sparkle78 What is heavenly ham..or is that a brand name? Your dinner last nite sounds like it was delicious! Woke to another gray, dreary morning, decided to dump down rain for about 20 min. Now they say it will be 63 and sunny later. Then up to almost 80, then only mid 50's for Fri, Sat, and Sun? brrr! My back is still aching from everything I got done last week and over the weekend, so taking it easy again today. Just have to gather all the trash for pick up tomorrow. Trashmen are not going to like me again, lol! That's what happens when I get in a cleaning/purging mood. Makes a LOT of trash! You won't believe this but we have been trying in VAIN to recall the name of that show! We have been wanting to watch it again but couldn't for anything seem to recall what it was called - so thank you !!!

We really enjoyed it when we watching it the first time - so now I'm thinking of getting Netflix again just to watch it again.

Our new microwave came around 5 last night. It's much nicer than I thought it'd be. I admit to having old fashioned appliance color preferences in white. However this new one does look nice and is less bulky than the old. I had thought it would be 100% stainless steel. Instead it's mostly black. I love how clear and green the time on the clock is. We are thankful and pleased. Dad will try it out later. I really don't use the microwave much at all. Dad uses it daily. Attaching a photo to this message! Sorry that the sink cabinet across from microwave is reflected in the picture! It gives each of you an idea of what it looks like

Lynxstch, you do need to get more rest! I will, after I finish the last of the new outdoor cat boxes for the outside cats for winter. We keep 3 well insulated boxes in our wood shed for them so they are out of the elements. I have 2 more under the front porch. Just one more to go. The older ones were all worn out and needed to be replaced..so thanks to Chewy--I had plenty of boxes, lol. I put a medium size one inside a big one, hot glued rolled reflective insulation to all 4 inside panels, cut out an opening. Lined the box with lots of newspapers, and put a big fluffy blanket in each one. That should help them stay warm!

Almost identical to ours, but ours is all black. The touch pad is exactly like ours. Glad you got it, and now your Dad can cook to his hearts content!

Nothing exciting today. DH was working on repairing part of the fence as the ground is soft from the rains. I helped a little but mostly did nothing.

Spaghetti for dinner but I used elbow noodles for a change.

Got new nails today. I wanted glow in the dark for this weekend so they aren't super Halloween-y but I LOVE them. They're all kinda fuzzy because my phone wouldn't focus on my nails very well today but especially the dark ones. 2nd picture is kinda dark and 3rd picture is completely dark room.

I had my nails done last night as well - but I'm afraid I'm rather boring. No decals or designs, no glow in the dark!!! My niece would love the glow in the dark polish...

Those are awesome!! A little tip to help focus with smart cameras. When taking a picture, tap the screen where you want the focus to be, then give it a sec. A little square should come up, and the lens changes its focus to just that one area. Try it again!!

I haven't always - probably started this about 4 or 5 years ago. I do it because no matter what when I paint my own nails it looks like a 4 year old did it and darn it, sometimes it's nice to treat oneself! So - roughly October - April I do a gel manicure every 2 weeks, and add a pedicure every other appt., so once a month for the pedicure. Aprilish- October I ditch the gel manicure and switch to a pedicure every 2 weeks and add a manicure with clear polish every other appt., or once per month. I keep my nails rather short, I can't stand long nails.
I like toned down colors, nothing splashy or bright. No decals or rhinestones - but I have stubby little fingers so they wouldn't look to good on me anyway!

I do my own - fingernails whenever I get around to it, toenails usually only in summer (or on vacation). I mix it up between plain and cute stuff, depending on if I'm going anywhere important.

I've had a lot of fun with Disney and holiday ones in the past, but don't really have picture files sorted in a way that I could find them.

One really fun tip - you can paint nail polish on a plastic zip bag, peel it off after it dries, and punch it with a craft punch to make your own decals!

QOTD: I do my own. I keep my nails fairly short, but filed, usually with clear polish. We have policies at work (hospital) about nails that I have to follow (no fake or chipped nails, due to germ transmission). I used to do color on my hands but I really like the clear now. I’ve used one brand for years but I can’t find it in the store anymore, so I found another I want to try.

Toenails, I also do myself, but always colored polish. I cut my nails and do my cuticles, soften, etc., then usually DD puts the polish on for me, but last time she wasn’t around so I did it myself. For the years my son played baseball I usually did the team colors for the season but these days I’ve gone to a soft mauve that I like a lot. DD actually started using it, too (I often do her toenails ) so we had to order some more. I’ve only had a pedicure a handful of times. I enjoy it but it seems like every time I go my nails get funky underneath the polish. I think it’s because the finishing coat they use - which I don’t normally use - makes it too air tight and the nail doesn’t breathe or something so if I go again, I’m going to have them skip that last coat.

What a fun QOTD! It's been awhile, but I do enjoy getting a pedicure. I think OPI nail color names are pretty amusing, my favorite is Aphrodite's Pink Nightie.

On a more serious note, our
son got word that his dept is very likely being eliminated. It won't be for about 8 months but it's sad. He has a wonderful team and they have been together some time. No surprise about the reason-belt tightening at the college. So he will be working on next steps in the job market. Our daughter in law's job is secure for now, so that is a blessing. It is fortunate our son has some time. We realize many others going through similar situations have had little notice.

My first instinct was a laugh emoji as you talked about the fun nail polish colors. But ultimately had to give a sad emoji hearing about your son’s job - at a college, no less. It’s good there are some positives, and I’m sure having you as a Mom he’ll ultimately do fine, but it’s still hard. And sad. I worry a lot about our economy in these times. It seems all I hear about daily is long time businesses who can’t make it and have to close. I agree it is nice to be able to share things here.

Those are awesome!! A little tip to help focus with smart cameras. When taking a picture, tap the screen where you want the focus to be, then give it a sec. A little square should come up, and the lens changes its focus to just that one area. Try it again!!

I got between gel nails and acrylic nails on my hands... usually I have acrylic. I've had them for years and opposite of @easyas123 I LOVE the bright, flashy, colors and styles.... I LOVE ME SOME SPARKLES!! I usually tell my friend to do whatever she wants and she goes for it. Purple is my favorite color so when all else fails, she gives me purple. My toes are almost always purple, I get a pedicure usually every other month. My toe nails never seem to grow much and my polish usually seems to last a while on my toes. Right now my toes are purple with some silver glitter on the big toes.

I'll see if I can find a pic of some of my favorite nails.

That must be a blast for your friend! Both lucky!!

That method should work with any smart phone camera - you’re just telling it what to focus on - to make that area of the picture nice and sharp. Works well with close ups.
