@apirateslifeforme - I didn’t know your story. It must really be hard to explain all that to your little one.
Thank you. I really don't know how to explain it to Josh. At times, I can't even wrap my brain around it. If it weren't for the photos, I don't think I'd even believe it myself. Josh does understand "living in Heaven," as we lost one of our cats a few years ago, but I think it's hard to understand about his siblings because he never actually saw them. I just keep telling him about it because I was always told to tell him his story from the very beginning (we also had to use donor eggs to have him) - that way it will be no big deal, rather than telling him when he's older and having a big reveal, which apparently causes a lot of anger in the child.
Dinner was Culver's burgers and fries with mini flavor of the day brownie batter. I needed eat my feelings after the Costco shop.
Ooh, Culver's! When we're in Florida, there is one around the corner from my in-laws in Clearwater (or maybe technically it's in Largo). We like their fish and chips, too. But they don't seem to have different flavors of ice cream at that location? Just chocolate and vanilla. It seems that the only way I can get the frozen custard ice cream is to get a specialty sundae - I like the caramel cashew. We missed it this year. Not enough time in our trip (plus none of us really needed it...

Question of the day: 4/30: Donuts? What's your choice?
Do you like donuts? Yeast or cake? Glazed? With sprinkles? Our favorite mom and pop donut and bakery opens back up tomorrow. It's cash only business and no tables inside and always long line out the door to pick them up. They have best plain glazed donuts and one the best danish I've ever tasted. What's your favorite?
I can take or leave donuts. I won't seek them out. But I also won't turn down a Boston Creme or a paczki or an apple fritter. I almost never get one at Dunkin, they're so small, you're done with it in 3 bites.
Speaking of Dunkin, one of ours is doing some interesting things. Last week they posted photos of apple pie croissants, apple pie munchkins, and cheddar everything bagels. My mom went out and got some of the munchkins and bagels. This week they posted those items plus vanilla frosting-stuffed croissants, something that looked like whoopie pies but made with the chocolate cake glazed donuts, and a whole bunch of other treats. I swear I gained 20 lbs. just looking at that post.
And Costco makes some pretty delicious danishes, I must say. I like the cheese and cherry ones.
So I must say that I am hopeful today...our governor has reported a decline in hospitalizations over the past week (maybe it's 9 days now), so Stage 1 of our reopening will happen on May 20. Only certain things, but some of them are "remaining retail" and hair salons. I just wonder if that means that A) can more than one person go (I don't own a car, so when I get to go out, it's with my mom and Josh), and B) what about our library? I'd be surprised if there were 10 people in there at any one time (unless it's Storytime, which I'm sure won't be taking place for a while anyway, as this last session would have ended by now anyway). And I'm still hopeful that the preschool might reopen again. That would only be for a few weeks.
My mom went to Target a few days ago and she got stopped by someone at the door. A "not young but not elderly either" man asked her if she was aware that she was there during the senior hours. She said, "Yes, I'm 65. I'll be 66 in June." He said, "Oh...well...you don't look it." She really doesn't, honestly. DH and I both told her that was a compliment, but she's still miffed by it. She insists that it's because the store was so empty, "Can Target really afford to offend people and turn them away?" But she said he wasn't wearing the Target uniform of red shirt and khaki pants, so she didn't know if he worked there, if he was some random person, or I suggested he was mall security making sure that nobody tried to go into the mall area that's blocked off. I keep telling her that it was a compliment, just smile and say thank you
